Rep. Ro Khanna: The British monarchy is ‘the most vulnerable it has ever been’

Congress finally got a chance to read the unredacted Epstein Files yesterday. Several prominent Democrats were the first to begin the process of examining millions of documents, and those Democrats have come out of the experience really pissed off. Jamie Raskin said that there’s a cover-up and the FBI has purposefully redacted the names of Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal allies. Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, ended up doing an impromptu press conference in the hallway, where he was fielding questions from British reporters (I heard two Scottish accents, I believe). Khanna ended up talking about the British government and the British monarchy:

The King and Queen must “answer questions” about Jeffrey Epstein, a leading Democrat has demanded.

Ro Khanna, who helped to force the release of the Epstein files, said Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s relationship with the paedophile could “bring down the British monarchy”.

Mr Khanna said the Royal family is the “most vulnerable it has ever been” after fresh details about the former prince’s relationship with Epstein were laid bare in three million documents published by the US department of justice (DoJ) on Jan 30.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mr Khanna said the tranche of documents offer a “window into the elite impunity”.

He added: “And by the way, I think this is the most vulnerable the British monarchy has ever been. I mean, I heard they were asking the Queen questions about the Epstein class. They ought to ask the King and Queen questions and maybe this will be the end of the monarchy… The King has to answer what he knew. What he knew about Andrew.”

[From The Telegraph]

I’m including the video below. I have to admit something: I don’t believe that Khanna was referring to Camilla when he said “the Queen.” I think he was talking about Queen Elizabeth II and he possibly got confused about whether she was still alive. But other than that, what he says is fascinating about how the Epstein Files are a ticking time bomb for the Windsors.

I’ve been so impressed with Ro Khanna. It feels like he’s one of a handful of dems that are fighters.

The system deserves to be torn down if they committed crimes or are involved with covering up crimes for Prince Andrew, Trump, etc.

    • caitlinsmom says:

ok, great. But what about the president of the United States? It’s all great that Ro can see how bad this is for monarchy, but he’s a representative for CA, USA- how about we worry about holding politicians and the rich elite in THIS country accountable for what they have done, before we go clutching our pearls over the British monarchy?

      • Mayp says:

@caitlinsmom, That clip is the video was excerpted by a British paper. At the end of the video you will clearly see that he’s asked about Clinton and begins to discuss it when the clip is cut off. He isn’t just addressing the British royals regarding the Epstein files.

Mayp Notice it seems to be the democrat that is interesting, what about the republicans, they are the ones being protected, especially Trump.

    • Kitten says:

In the past I’ve had mixed feelings about Ro because of his endless insistence on Dems reaching across the aisle even as there is ZERO reciprocity from the GOP. That being said, as a progressive I fundamentally agree with everything he aims to achieve politically.

There have been rumors that he will run for POTUS and I have to say: the Epstein bill that he so vociferously fought to pass is an impressive and tangible accomplishment to run on.
And for all my criticisms of him being too nice to Republicans, he couldn’t have gotten this bipartisan legislation passed without the help of Massey

    • Brassy Rebel says:

Please! I beg of you, everyone. Please stop saying that only this Dem or that Dem is fighting. They are all doing different things. Just because they are not in the news every day doesn’t mean they’re not fighting. There are many ways to fight and they’re all necessary. So it’s not true that only a couple of Dems are fighting. Beyond that, it’s a voter suppression technique which encourages apathy and despair. Being loud on TV is not the only way to fight. Sometimes just listening to people is fighting.

      • Bqm says:

Exactly. Kanna is the face of it since he and Massie have been on it so long and have a bipartisan partnership. But it was the Dems who forced the vote with just a handful of republicans who signed on. And republican leadership tried everything to get those few to change their vote. It was only when it was inevitable that the gop reps signed on and voted to insist on the files being released. But without the Dems being unified that vote would’ve never even happened.

      • Blithe says:

Thank you, @Brassy Rebel, for making these critically important points. I happen to know that multiple politicians from Maryland and from the Mid-Atlantic states have been fighting all along. I’m sure that there are politicians and communities in other areas of the country who have been fighting equally hard every day. I’ve given up on having their efforts adequately covered in “national” newspapers like the Washington Post, but there are other sources of news and other resources available that have continued to document the efforts of Democrats and Progressives and even people who never before regarded themselves as “political” as they fight the growing fascism that has been strangling our country.

There are, indeed, many ways to fight. Some are loud and proud. Others donate what they can. Many support our communities and our neighbors— in ways that used to be the norm, but which now carry significant risks. Collectively, we are a lot more than the “handful” that the current so-called “mainstream media” wants you to see.

There is a saying: “Argue for your limitations— and they’re yours.” Let’s do our best NOT to do that, especially in public spaces — like this one — where people may be seeking much needed support and validation.

The royalist will make accusations all day long about Meghan showing up to galas uninvited, selling candles with no wicks, and wearing jewelry they deem too expensive. All the while, the RF, BM, royal security and the government were covering up human trafficking, sharing of government secrets, and cash contributions surrounding Andrew and Fergie. Too much security, government clearance, etc. for there revelations to be a surprise. The hypocrisy is quite astonishing! Meghan was a pure gift to this seedy group!

  3. Pinot Noir says:

Seen an email in the EF files only today from 2019 where an investigator talks about JE’s ranch, some guy called Marcinko(?) who’s high up in the US Navy and as a sideline says “Prince Philip is small fry compared to what we have uncovered”. Now, could be a mistake and he meant Andrew. No idea. But just when you think it can’t get worse, it always does.

  4. Chantal1 says:

The fact that US Congressman Ro Khanna recognizes the obvious danger to the monarchy while the senior royals are either oblivious or in deep denial, tells us everything. We know the danger it poses to the orange menace bc he’s doing everything to distract us from each horrible revelation that comes out of the files. The DOJ redacted the names of most of the co conspirators but not the victims names. And I’m sure Felon47 will repeatedly toss Andrew and Clinton under the bus for distractions. The BRF thinks their silence will enable them to weather this storm but “never complain, never explain” is the worst response they could enact, and will only anger the masses. I’m glad we have Democrat leaders like Mr. Khanna, Mr. Raskin, and Ms. Crockett continuing to fight to get the truth out.

  5. Tessa says:

For a start, Charles should put a stop to the bots and derangers. Enough is enough. That caused much damage using Meghan and Harry to deflect from Andrew.

  6. Kitten says:

I saw Jon Ossoff recently calling this administration the “Epstein Class” and TBH, we should refer to the British monarchy as the same. I just hope that this global cabal faces consequences from the global community because Trump et al will do anything and everything to cover this shit up.

  7. BASH says:

I’m waiting to see how the British and Norwegian monarchies navigate this mess.

  8. IdlesAtCranky says:

I don’t think Rep. Khanna was confused about who is the current Queen at all.

I think it’s clear he was referring to Camilla ducking questions, and that she & Chuck both need to answer for what they knew & when.

  9. jferber says:

And may it soon fall to pieces.
