Why is Brad Pitt’s team giving all of these panicked briefings right now?

Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt turn 18 years old on July 12. They are the youngest of six, and their birthday will mark the end of an era for their mom, Angelina Jolie. Angelina has been itching to move out of LA, which is where she’s lived for the past decade after leaving Brad Pitt. When Knox and Viv turn 18, they can completely make their own decisions about whether to spend any time with Brad, or whether they’ll do the same thing as the four older kids and completely cut off any and all contact. Some have predicted that one of both of the twins might legally change their name(s) to drop the “Pitt,” just as Shiloh did on her 18th birthday. Well, Brad and his team certainly seem to be bracing for *something* to happen around the twins’ birthday. Ever since Zahara graduated from college, Team Pitt has been on the warpath, screaming, crying and throwing up about Angelina. Some lowlights from another Team Pitt propaganda piece in Page Six:

The twins’ birthday: In just a few weeks, Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt officially become adults. But forget the streamers and the cake: The twins’ 18th birthday, on July 12, truly marks the end of a 10-year battle between their parents, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — and finally brings a full stop to the couple known as “Brangelina.” After their birthday, Vivienne and Knox will no longer be beholden to the residual custody agreement, which gave Pitt visitation rights with his minor children while Jolie had primary custody.

Maddox’s name change: We’re told Pitt now has a “very limited” relationship with the brood, many of whom no longer use his surname — including Maddox, who legally filed to drop “Pitt” this week. A source in the know told us that “it’s not a surprise” that news was released on Thursday, hours after Page Six reported that Pitt had scored a “significant evidentiary victory” in his and Jolie’s ongoing battle over the French vineyard, Chateau Miraval, they shared.

Brad wasn’t close to all of the children: “Angelina has alienated the children from Brad” — particularly “the ones that she knew were especially close to him,” the source said. An insider familiar with the situation insisted Jolie has never set out to isolate her children from their father and stressed they had issues with the word “alienated” being used with kids who allegedly experienced such family drama.

This is especially pitiful from Team Pitt: Some within the ex-couple’s circle muse that Jolie initially believed Pitt might beg her to take him back, despite the toxic allegations. And when that didn’t happen, one source said, things turned explosive.

His children still hated him even after he got sober: Pitt has told how he used that moment [in 2016] to quit drinking. He has now been sober for nearly 10 years with the help of a men’s-only AA group, including Bradley Cooper, revealing on “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,” last June: “It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the f–k up in some areas.” But that hasn’t been enough to win back several of his children.

Zahara’s graduation: Although Pitt is currently in Ireland filming “The Riders,” a psychological thriller based on Tim Winton’s acclaimed novel, he is not believed to have been invited — though the insider familiar with the situation told us he could have just shown up. “This is a celebration!” said the source of Zahara’s graduation, adding that the actor’s exclusion shows “the extent” of the fallout. How many times can you kill the guy? “There was no reason it had to be like this. There’s no benefit to the kids.”

What happened on the plane in 2016: “The children, who are now adults who make their own decisions, were not only affected by what happened on that plane 10 years ago, but what has happened since — [Pitt] continuing to cover up and minimize his own behavior,” the family insider said. “This has had the biggest impact on his relationships with the children. When will people start asking real questions about what happened to the kids?”

[From Page Six]

The part about “Some within the ex-couple’s circle muse that Jolie initially believed Pitt might beg her to take him back” is absolutely bonkers. Brad repeatedly abused Angelina in front of their children, to the point where some of the children tried to intervene, and then as soon as Angelina stepped off that plane, she took the kids to safety, filed for divorce and literally never looked back. Brad was the one who thought Angelina would come back, and when she didn’t, he decided to spend a whole decade punishing her with lawsuits and these unhinged attacks in the press. But yeah, given this flurry of panicked Pitt propaganda, it’s clear that Brad is quite concerned about what the kids will say once Knox and Vivienne turn 18.

It’s all about manipulation and a loss of control. All the kids will be adults so he can’t use that over her anymore. She doesn’t have to deal with him anymore with regards to the children. I think he is also panicking because he’s afraid the two remaining biological children will legally change their names. That is what he cares about. He doesn’t care about the adopted children. He had a complete meltdown when Shiloh did it. All those lies he put out there about her wanting to live with him blew up in face when she did that. She’s also the one that looks the most like her mother. He’s the one that is obsessed with AJ. He is trying to make his “girlfriend” look like her which is why I think she changed her hair.

  2. Jegede says:

Again, I don’t think he truly cares about them, just the narrative.

I 100% expect the twins will change their surnames.

I also expect the typical headlines + nastiness about the Jolies will follow.

    • JayBlue says:

Exactly. And I’d bet my bottom dollar that the kids he was “closest” to were shiloh and the twins, ie- the biological ones. He’s such a pathological narcissist.

      • Jais says:

That was telling right? The ones he was closest to? Ummm shouldn’t he have been pretty close to all of them? Not some significantly more than others.

  3. YankeeDoodles says:

He’s just such a pointless ass.

  4. Freya says:

He’s possessive! The fact that the six of them had his last name made him feel like he owned them, and them removing his last name made him lose the power he thought he had over them.

  5. Glamarazzi says:

I find it so weird when a parent who never tries to be with their children cries alienation. You did that yourself, bud, by never making time for them.

    • Eva says:

Well, after what he did to them on the plane (I’ll just add that I don’t believe it was the first incident), all of them were probably relieved that he didn’t have time for them. I wouldn’t want to meet with such a “daddy,” even in the presence of others.

  6. Beth says:

    God he suuuuuuuucks!

  7. Jill says:

Am I the only one who thinks he’s not sober? He looks like he fell off the wagon.

    • Michelle says:

He isn’t sober. There have been tweets and plenty of photos showing him drinking alcohol, most recent the F1 after party. The girlfriend is regularly seen in cannabis shops and drinking. It’s all a charade about missing the kids and being sober. He is the most protected man in Hollywood. The industry and media helping him carry on the abuse is sickening.
