The first trailer for Michael B. Jordan’s version of The Thomas Crown Affair is here. MBJ directed this “reimagining” and he stars alongside Adria Arjona, Lily Gladstone & Kenneth Branagh. (Taylor Russell was originally supposed to be in this, but she left right before filming due to “creative differences.”) [LaineyGossip]

Looking forward to this version of The Thomas Crown Affair. Didn’t like the Pierce Brosnan version, and the Steve McQueen/Faye Dunaway version was just okay. This one so far looks really good!

  3. Dopple says:

I loved the original and the 2nd Thomas Crown Affairs, this one looks good too. I’ll watch it.

  4. Dopple says:

Just watched the trailer for Cupertino, it’s looks interesting. I loved The Good Wife, the Good Fight, and Elsbeth. I am cracking up that Cupertino is filmed in NY and NJ and not silicon valley or anywhere in California.

I’m curious to see how they update the story for The Thomas Crown Affair since I loved the second version with Brosnan and Russo.

  6. Jferber says:

I never saw the original or the first re- make, but would definitely see Mr. Jordan’s film. Also, he is so hot!

Something tells me that Robert Pattinson prefers Daddy Batman over Daddy Vampire. Sorry, Twi-hards.

Loved the first two Thomas Crowns. Steve McQueen in that Irish sweater on the beach will always be the epitome of cool to me.

Looking forward to this one, but the casting has me a bit worried. In the first two films, the female lead is a known star who’s a match for the actor playing Crown. Here, not only is Jordan directing, he cast a much younger actress as his co-star and then fired her. Adria Arjona looks great in the trailer, but we only see her as a girlfriend. It’s only a trailer, but I really hope he gets this right, because the cat and mouse really is the heart of the story.

    • Little Red says:

That’s good point about the importance of the female lead. Russo’s Katherine Banning was a badass.

      • Lady Esther says:

Wasn’t Rene Russo amazing? Legend has it that in the dance scene with the younger actress that turned out to be Brosnan’s niece, Rene insisted they swap dresses so she could wear the barely-there black number and the younger gal got the white dress. Given what great shape Russo was in for that movie, I’d have done the same!

And for the better part of a decade I asked my colorist/hair salon to give me the “Rene Russo” because that was the most flattering hairstyle I’ve ever had! All I had to do was show photos on my phone and they’d nod “Yep. Got it. Everyone wants that.”

Did anyone else see the article about the Tulsa grandma that made him her honorary grandson complete with pictures of him framed in her home? And he saw it online and reached out to her and now they besties? It’s sooo sweet!!

I can’t with the shorts. Someone else wore YSL shorts to a diff premiere. The answer is no.
