A few weeks ago, I posted some photos of Jeffrey Dean Morgan at his big premiere for The Losers. JDM had brought his mom and his girlfriend as his “dates”. I was sorely disappointed to see that he was with a very young-looking woman who I didn’t know at all. Turns out it was Hilarie Burton, one of those random CW chicks. I posted the story, and then some commenters corrected me – I thought JDM and Burton had only recently started dating, but according to certain commenters, JDM & Hilarie had been dating for at least a year, and they already had a baby together.
Now, I have to admit, I thought some of you were full of sh-t. I mean, a secret baby? That was only a vague whisper on the internet? Who does that? This isn’t Hollywood in the 1940s, actresses don’t have to go into hiding when they get pregnant. But, as Us Weekly has just confirmed, it’s the truth:
Grey’s Anatomy alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 44, and his girlfriend, former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton, 27, quietly welcomed a baby boy a few months ago, reports the new Us Weekly (on newsstands now).
The source tells Us Weekly the two began dating in 2009, and “their relationship moved really quickly.”
The actress, who divorced One Tree Hill assistant director Ian Prange in 2008, was not photographed in public between May 6, 2009, and April 20, 2010. For his part, Morgan is already familiar with daddy duties: He learned just last March that he had a son, now 5, with actress Sherrie Ross.
“She would be a fantastic mother,” Burton’s ex Prange told Us recently.

WTF? I mean, it’s not like JDM is ashamed to be dating her – he brought her to his premiere. So why all the hiding and the secrets? I don’t get it. While JDM’s fame is on the rise, it’s not like he’s the kind of celebrity getting pap’d every day (or even every week or every month), so don’t tell me it’s about privacy. Why did they keep this sh-t locked down? Was it because of a sketchy timeline? Because this time last year, Jeffrey was rumored to be reconciling with Mary-Louise Parker. Finding out that he knocked up some CW chick would certainly put a strain on his relationship with MLP, and perhaps that’s why they ended things for real.

This has to be one of the most random, weird Hollywood stories of the year. These two are in totally different Hollywood circles, no one knew they were dating, and suddenly they have a baby? AND he had some other mystery kid? Good grief. They’re called condoms, JDM.

I think the problem is, that he likes dating several women at the same time, he nocked up another woman while he was in rehab, then he was with Gina Gershon for two minutes, then he was photographed in a hotel bed reading Playboy. I think he just likes screwing around. I don’t see this relationship going anywhere. Maybe eventually he’ll settle down with a writer. He needs to stay away from actresses.

In 2009 he was with MLP. I remember after The Watchmen came out there were pics of them everywhere. I even saw a pic of them kissing at a concert. So Hilary obviously knew they were dating.

I think Us Weekly may have made a mistake here. Unless it’s confirmed by a reliable source, I’m not believing it. There was a “secret baby” story from last year. But has anyone seen any pictures of HB pregnant? I think with someone as thin as she is, a baby bump would have been visible, yes?
I like MLP, but these two look pretty happy together. The timeline is a little weird, but I don’t think it’s so random that they hooked up. They were both on CW shows- JDM (2005-2007) and HB (2003-2009), and although Supernatural and One Tree Hill don’t film in the same spots, I can see them running into eachother at promotional and other network events.
I wander what he went to rehab for, was it alcohol, heroin, pills, coke or all of them?

The woman who announced she had a son by him two years ego and didn’t bother to tell him until last year, was in rehab at the same time he was, she was he’s former girlfriend, I think that’s why him and MLP broke up, and it was all over the internet. Possible scenario: Probably he was sleeping with MLP and Hilarie Burton simultaneously, with hopes of getting back with MLP. He probably insisted on a DNA test when the kid was born, as he should. Further speculation: MLP dumped him when she found out, and he decided to try to work things out with Hilarie Burton, considering the kid. It won’t last if he secretly resents her.
Regarding the “child he just learned about” – I just don’t buy that he didn’t know, or had a strong inkling. I didn’t believe it about Gavin Rossdale, either – how do you not have a hunch when you know who you slept with 9 months before she had a baby?
