Pretty Wild star gets six months in jail for role in Orlando Bloom burglary

One of the young stars of the new E! Reality show “Pretty Wild” has received a sentence of 180 days in county jail for her role in a “Burglar Bunch” crime. Alexis Neiers, 18, plead guilty right before her trial for allegedly burglarizing Orlando Bloom’s home was about to start. Bloom was prepared to testify about the hundreds of thousands worth of designer watches that were stolen, which surely influenced Neiers to work out a plea deal:

A reality television starlet has pleaded no contest to the charge of burglarizing actor Orlando Bloom’s house. That burglary is just one in a series of celebrity home burglaries tied to the so-called “Burglar Bunch.”

Alexis Neiers entered her plea just as her trial was set to begin. Orlando Bloom had been expected to testify.

Neiers will serve time behind bars, but the term was shortened. She won’t be mingling with the hardcore inmate population. She will receive three years’ probation. Her attorneys say they got the deal because she was a minor player in the “Burglar Bunch.”

Neiers, 18, is an aspiring model and a reality TV starlet. Even her appearances at the courthouse will be part of a show called “Pretty Wild.” Neiers will soon be headed for jail.

Neiers pleaded no contest to avoid what would have been a difficult trial with evidence stacked against her.

Neiers was accused as one in a gang of teens who staked out star homes, then stole cash and jewelry. Neiers confessed she was at the home of actor Orlando Bloom during one break-in. And Monday, Bloom himself was ready to testify against her.

“Orlando Bloom’s willingness to come testify did not help our case,” said Neiers’ attorney, Jeffrey J. Rubenstein.

“She was a part of the group,” said L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Sarika Kim. “She admitted guilt today to burglarizing Orlando Bloom’s house. She was a cog in the ‘Bling Ring.'”

Surveillance pictures show some of five other defendants who are charged with multiple felonies. But Neiers was only at Bloom’s house.

Had Neiers stood trial and lost, she would have faced as many as six years in state prison. Instead, it will be six months in county jail.

“It’s been a long road, and Alexis is looking forward to moving on with her life,” said Rubenstein.

There remains the matter of restitution. Bloom had two watches stolen, each worth $200,000 each. Neiers says she does not have them but she may still have to pay for them. As for jail time, Neiers is ordered to turn herself in by June 24.

[From KABC]

I’ve only seen this show once when I was on the treadmill and there wasn’t anything else on. In the episode I saw, Alexis and her sister, Tess, were planning a sweet sixteen party for their youngest sister, Gabby. They were somehow able to book celebrity DJ Paul Oakenfold, whose house was targeted by the Burglar Bunch. When Oakenfold saw Alexis before the party he kind of hesitantly observed that she was a member of the group who tried to break into his house. (Jezebel has the video of this scene.) She said she was sorry that happened to him, but that she wasn’t involved. Then she went away and started crying, explaining to her friends that it was the first time that a victim had confronted her about the crimes. The way I remember it, she was denying involvement although she didn’t get into the details. Oakenfold accepted her explanation and went on to DJ her sister’s party.

I’m thinking that Alexis must have been more involved than she admitted to if she ended up pleading guilty. Millions of dollars worth of jewelry, designer goods and cash were stolen from celebrities. Maybe Alexis was just at Bloom’s house, though, and was following the advice of her lawyer to enter a plea and avoid more jail time. This isn’t the last we’ve heard of the Burglar Bunch. Five other people were arrested back in October and face charges for stealing from celebrities including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Audrina Patridge.

See this is what I can’t stand about some networks… In jail? Under investigation? Completely ridiculed in public? If you answered yes, YOU WIN A TV “reality” SHOW!

Never watched the show because the concept looked tired and sad. However, this chick should not have been able to get rich off the attention garnered by her crimes.

WTF am I talking about? I suppose if the world stopped paying young people for deplorable behaviour we wouldn’t have Lindsey Lohan. Bad me! Bad me!

  2. Marjalane says:

“Maybe she just happened to be at his house?” Please. This is just nasty. If it wasn’t for Chelsea Lately on E, I would boycott that network till the end of time. Where the flip do they get off giving this CRIMINAL a TV show? She and her idiot sisters make the Kardashians look intellectual.

  3. Sandz says:

Thought ‘Pretty Wild’ was produced by Seacrest turns out its produced by Chelsea Handler!!

  4. Victoria says:

Never watched it, and never will. Shame on the network for glorifying these spoiled brats who broke the law. She wants to move on with her life? In which direction? And only after being caught? Disgusting.

  5. Constance says:

Chelsea Handler produces it? Well, I suppose I’ll have to just bootleg her shows so I don’t have to account for positive ratings. Stupid idea, lady… lol

  6. Lady Nightshade says:

I saw enough of the first episode to be scarred for life. They are SO obnoxious and treat their parents terribly!

Oh, and they are all home schooled by the ex-nude model mother based on “the movie” The Secret…couldn’t even make it through the book I’m guessing

  7. Paige says:

Chelsey Lately is so not funny it’s cringe worthy. Even in the promo commercials, where they are supposed to showcase REALLY funny clips from a show to lure viewers in, the jokes are just so lame and vanilla and poorly delivered that I’m embarrassed for her. It’s not that I even dislike Chelsea’s personality, I just don’t think she a talented comedian.

  8. Jazz says:

E are truly pathetic for giving losers like that a reality show. They really are scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

  9. bros says:

there was an astounding article in vanity fair a couple of months ago about this burglarizing ring. mind blowing. the sense of entitlement, gen Y spoiled LA bullshit these kids were up to. it was amazing. I suggest you read it Celebitchy. Its very interesting.

  10. Aitch says:

I saw a segment on Inside Edition about the Bling Ring. This Alexis was shown laughing with her lawyers walking to court, wearing a Chanel mini-skirt, high heels; her long hair swinging to and fro. I about fell out of my chair when they said she was up for a reality series. This girl (and the rest of the Bling Ring) is a spoiled entitled brat who robbed these people out of Boredom with her spoiled entitled life. And to get “rewarded” with a reality series? Mind boggling. Where is the morality in that? Oh that’s right– the show could make MONEY, morality not needed.

  11. CC says:

They make the Kardashians look like queens of england

  12. lucy2 says:

I saw one episode of this show, and was really horrified by it. These girls and their mother are spoiled, skanked out monsters. The whole thing was so fake and so offensive, I can’t believe even the lousy (aside from the Soup) E network would stoop so low. Chelsea should be ashamed for having anything to do with it.
I’m glad this jerk is going to jail, I hope she has to do the whole sentence and I hope it scares some sense into her, though I doubt it.

  13. Feebee says:

I thought if you were convicted you couldn’t profit from your crime. Shouldn’t this (in the times we live in) be extended to include a reality tv show?

She should be barred from appearing in the show (any reality show) and/or paid public appearances like hosting nightclub parties etc for the term of her probation. By the end of that no one will care.

  14. wwoman9000 says:

Hmmm…so they were home-schooled using The Secret. I guess they must’ve been thinking “jail thoughts” and the universe delivered. Oops.

  15. Bodhi says:

That article in vanity fair is really good, horrifying, but good

  16. guesty says:

that show is truly awful…really should be cancelled.

  17. julie says:

Feebee you are correct. It’s often referred to as the Son of Sam law and prevents people from selling their stories to publishers and whatnot to make a profit. I don’t know if there is an exception these days to include reality tv but there certainly should be.

  18. kelbear says:

I saw 5 minutes of the show and that’s enough to know that this girl is annoying to the max!!!!!

  19. julie says:

This show is THE bottom of the barrel of the reality shows. I agree with everyone else, they make the Kardashians look smart and classy. How about some reality shows about young girls who have goals, work hard, want to go to college. I am SO GLAD I am not a teenager now. Between all the spoiled entitled brats and the pregnant teens who have a show, why would anyone think teenagers can be smart, educated, thoughtful, and caring? I have a 17 yr old daughter, and I watch these shows with her sometimes so I know what she is watching. She knows my opinion and we mostly make fun of these girls and what a waste of humanity they are. Most of them will probably be famous in five to ten years for being homewrecking skanks who get to be on TV for breaking up some celebrity marriage. It is truly appalling.

  20. Juice in LA says:

Sigh. Sometimes I am disgusted by my world. Why shouldn’t this twit get jail time? She’s an “Effing” thief… I don’t care whose house it was or whether she’s ever been on television. She was part of a conspiracy and burglary ring. I guarantee no 20-something “chicka” from East LA, accused of conspiring to burglarize someones home is getting off this easy.

  21. weslyn says:

this girl got off veerryy easy

  22. Mistral says:

“The Burgler Bunch”?! For real? Did they make this name up for themselves, or is it a media-created moniker. Anyway, what a stupid thing to do.

  23. Kim says:

Shes trash and I hope has to pay back millions is restitution. Why is E sponsoring a show with admitted felon????

Chelsea you better cancel this one quick. Pull the plug on it now because the back lash against you for produing this show is already huge. Im boycotting your show until this one is off the air for good! No one shoul dget infamous for victimizing other people. And she was recently called out by a waitress in a LA club for stealing her money and phone and when they found them on her person she said the money was hers and she didnt know how the phone got in her purse! So she is still stealing! Pure White Trash!!!!

  24. Kim says:

The whole family except th eyoungest daughter appear to be trash. The mom is so zoned out on pills its scary -she has stepford crazy Ramona eyes. The 2 oldest girls are trash stripping in front of the camera all the time. The worst is how they claim to be so Christian and praying all the time. Honey God has no sympathy for thieves!

  25. abbydoom says:

@feebee. I believe the show was already being filmed before all this went down.
Also, the show has been canceled because pics from TheDirty show them smoking oxycontin in a hotel room.

  26. velcrodots says:

Wow, I just read the VF article posted here, I’m speechless and really creeped out. This girl is super dumb if she thinks she could have gotten away with it

  27. jover says:

I hope what you say is true abbydoom but I’m still boycotting Chelsea Handler’s show. I thought her ripping on celebutards was real, but now I know its an act because she apparently thought nothing about cashing in on this repulsive spectacle.

  28. debbie says:

6 months what ever. She said she was drunk, isn’t the drinking age 21? Her mother crying all the time about her daughter well maybe she should tighten the rope on those girls. they all need to grow up even her. If you didn’t do anything then go to trail. You were there and you helped steal Orlando’s stuff of you have it or not. Lair, never plead guilty if you are not that is why you pay that big time lawyer. Well you have 6 months to think about what you did and I hope you learn something while you are in jail. Paris did (and she is way better then you) so can you. You do the crime then be ready to do the time.

  29. Ogechi says:

One of the most pathetic shows i have ever seen on E! I watch the show sometimes based on tiredness from work. Crying unnecessarily and glorifying nudity. However, they are young and may be better with age.

  30. Katie says:

Wow…i busted my behind in order to get my degree. It makes me sick that people like this will probably make more money by thieving, having sex on camera, getting knocked up at 15 or sleeping with married people, than i will make in my lifetime. Im really kinda bitter about this.

  31. Katie says:

On that note, im also sure that if i jacked $400,000 worth of stuff from someones house, i would not be give 180 days in jail and a few years probation.

And who are we kidding anyway, 180 days will most likely transform into a couple hours. The “celebrity” legal system is a joke.

  32. SoOver JumpoffTVShows says:

Pretty Wild is a Ryan Seacrest show created by Dan Levy and directed by Amber Mazzola check the IMDB. You can go back to watching Chelsa now.

  33. Fosho says:

ha ha im glad this dumb ass cry baby spoiled broad got jail time…….HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

  34. heather says:

Y’all are all rediculous. Chelsea Handler obviously produced this show bc she believed the girls story. Every single one of you has been young and scared and been in the wrong place at the wrong time. She pleaded guilty to BEING THERE…not stealing anything. Being there and not calling the police to snitch is why she is getting 180 days. They gave her the show so she could explain her side of the story and defend her self, something we wish we could all do when put in a situation when needed. They didn’t give a ” criminal” fame! closed minded people are rediculous.

  35. Joanne Marie says:

This family makes me ill!!! If that is what the young girls of america have as role models then i really feel sorry for you all!! It does make the Kardashians look like intelligent individuals, infact it makes Kendra look intelligent. I love reality programmes but this is the most disgusting show I have ever watched. The worse thing is she probably wont go to jail, in which case then I am going to petition for lil Wayne to be released, as i dont think it is fair that he has to serve his time for gun possession and little miss Trash doesnt get anytime for what she did. In fact that whole family should be taken to jail for insulting our intelligence

  36. dells bells says:

    Heather-
Perhaps you should do some serious research and quit drinking the KOOLAID, and smoking the crack pipe.

The Neirer/Taylor/Arlington, or Whatever family already had a deal to film a reality show before the arrests in October 2009. The actual Neier arrest was filmed during the time the first episode was being taped. Therefore, Chelsea Handler’s decision to produce the show had nothing to do with giving Alexis a chance to defend herself.

Alexis never explained herself anyway. All the viewers saw was Alexis whining that she didn’t do anything wrong and mean old Orlando Bloom was going to testify about having $600,000 being stolen out of his home. How dare he!(sarcasm)
We don’t get an explanation of why her ass is seen on the security tape walking out of the Bloom residence with bags of his personal property. We don’t get an explanation of how Alexis can walk up a hill backwards when she’s supposedly so drunk.

Alexis pleaded No Contest (which is considered equal to a guilty plea) to Robbery, not to just “being there”. Even if Sticky Fingers was just there, she could still have been charged as an accessory to the crime. And you don’t think she snitched to the police about her friends the day she was taken into custody? Puh-leese!

Try reading the Vanity Fair article or watching the 20/20 segment on the Bling Ring. Lastly, if your going to call out other posters for being “rediculous” you might want to check how to spell the word first. Just sayin’.
