Jennifer Aniston denies baby-food diet: “I’ve been on solids for about 40 years”

A few weeks ago, OK! Magazine and many other media outlets climbed up Jennifer Aniston’s ass about some alleged “extreme diet” that she was on. OK Mag claimed that Jennifer was doing some strange “lose 7 pounds in 7 days” scheme involving seaweed juice and dandelions (no joke). Meanwhile, Jennifer’s alleged connection to trainer and con artist Tracy Anderson had led some outlets to run with the story that Aniston was doing Tracy’s new “baby food diet”. As in, Tracy recommends that her clients eat like 14 portions of baby food a day, in addition to working out for like 3 hours a day. Anyway, Jennifer spoke to People Magazine to deny the baby food diet rumors:

Jennifer Aniston’s enviable body is not the result of any diet of baby food, she tells PEOPLE.

“I’ve been asked lately, ‘Jen, what’s this baby food diet all about?'” she says. “I kept thinking: That’s the strangest question ever.”

Currently in Hawaii filming Just Go With It with Adam Sandler, Aniston was reportedly the latest celeb to try “The Baby Food Cleanse,” created by trainer Tracy Anderson, which entails eating 14 servings of pureed food each day followed by a healthy dinner.

“Sorry, but the last time I had baby food, I believe I was 1,” says the actress, 41, who has not worked directly with Anderson. “I’ve been on solids for about 40 years now.”

Yeah, it sounded asinine. And hasn’t Jennifer been on The Zone for like, a dozen years? Doesn’t she swear by it? The Zone is very protein heavy, so I don’t see her thinking “oh, baby food, I’ll try that instead of this delicious bacon.” Mm… bacon. Plus, Jennifer has a private chef that lives with her! If you’re going to pay someone to cook for you, why go with the baby food diet?

In other Aniston news, she’s in final negotiations to play a supporting part in a comedy called Horrible Bosses. If she signs on, she’ll likely be playing one of three “horrible” bosses that become victims of some kind of massive revenge plot put into action by their disgruntled employees. Aniston’s boss would likely be the “sexually aggressive dentist”. Colin Farrell is also in talks to join the film as one of the bosses. Honestly, I would like to see him as a sexually aggressive dentist. Drill baby drill.

In addition to that, she’s in talks to reteam with her old Object of My Affection co-star Paul Rudd in a more traditional romantic comedy. It’s called Wanderlust, and Judd Apatow is producing, and that’s all that’s really known about it. RUDD!!! I love him. Did you know that Rudd and Jon Hamm have been friends for like 20-plus years? True story. That should be a romantic comedy.

  1. Interesting! If she is on solid food all the time, would her doctors not worry a little? Im just curious.

  2. kiki says:

Just FYI-the Zone is not protein heavy, it’s very well balanced. And you don’t eat bacon, only lean protein.

  3. Jackson says:

Haha, kiki, I was gonna type the same thing. Zone is balanced between lean protein, good carbs and fat, too. A very sane, healthy way to go.

I am actually happy she refuted this. Usually you see odd things like this pop up and the ‘star’ in question never responds to it. Good for her.

  4. teri says:

I think it’s just crazy that she denies such silly accusations but doesn’t say anything when it comes to others. It’s already well known that she works out like 100 times a day and eats salad daily.

  5. Just a Poster says:

I think the solids comeback was rather witty of her!

  6. Mairead says:

@ kiki; Kaiser loves bacon more than Butler! She thinks about bacon as often as men think about naughtiness 😉

  7. just keep the pics coming through…,and also when i share these wonderful pics you get can you please keep the lil, girls off my page,,and keep the adults where the adults are…anyway nice pics..oh and I’LL Be Back..

@teri: Did you just say she eats salads daily? Horrors!!

I’m glad she corrected this too – that Tracy woman is a scam artist and gives out dangerous advice. I’d hate to think of people actually believing this and trying it themselves. I wish more celebs would correct the crazy diet stories, those are ones that could actually have an impact on someone’s live and health.

I’m not a big fan of generic rom-coms and not interested in a lot of Jen’s movies, but I did really like Object of My Affection. I thought they had a nice chemistry together, and I really like Paul Rudd.

I’m also glad she refuted this as well since it had been picked up by every major outlet and blog – even mainstream magazines like Glamour and Marie Claire had postings on their websites saying she was on this diet. No one bothered to fact check here at all – the story originated in UK tabloid Grazia based on nothing more than US tabloids, random quotes on the plan from Anderson and “a source” who claimed Jennfier had relaxed her diet while promoting The Bounty Hunter in Europe. What should have been written off as utter crap was instead jumped on and posted everywhere as fact. And, given the subject matter it was important that the public not start thinking extreme baby food dieting can earn you her toned physique. Mind you, this should be obvious, but then the tabloids would not still be in business, would they?!

As for her new projects – they sound quite interesting and are getting good buzz from film sites and those in the industry. Horrible Bosses already has a release date of July 29, 2011 (and has added Jamie Fox to its cast), and is set to start filming this summer, while Wanderlust is due to roll in September (I also loved her chemistry with Rudd in the Object of My Affection). Neither sound like rom-coms and I’m looking forward to her in a dark comedy again – where I think she truly excels – particularly playing against her girl-next-door type as a sexually agressive dentist. She is extrememly busy though, so I hope she fits in some down time for herself too – if these go through as planned (not to mention her other projects in various stages of development), she will have worked straight nearly the complete year between filming and promotion/travel.

@Guest: Grazia has a reputation from making up stories out of nothing but air and printing them as fact. If this came from Grazia, it’s bullshit.

  12. Wif says:

    Awesome response! Loved it.

Actually, about 20 years ago I got a degree in dance and I was one of the few in my year who didn’t eat baby food for the 4 years. People (crazy people) do it.

  13. original kate says:

whatever jennifer’s doing her body looks amazing: toned and healthy, not gristly and starving, like tracy whatsherface. jen looks like she eats good food and probably indulges once in a while. keeping weight off isn’t that difficult – i lost 20 pounds very easily by simply cutting out snacking between meals. well, that and i haven’t bought a bag of potato chips in about 6 years. because i will eat them all – the whole bag in one sitting.

  14. Chico says:

Oh well, there goes all the jokes about this–baby food for the baby brain, she can change her own diapers, and no wonder she doesn’t want babies, she’ll eat up all the food . . . darn
    😉

Oh, and she needs a bra. You’re not 20 anymore. Other than that, she’s got a nice body.

  15. RHONYC says:

    “bacon’s gooood. porkchops is gooood”

john travolta as vince in ‘pulp fiction’

    lol 🙂

  16. jzhz says:

Yes, I agree – though I find her boring in general, Aniston looks healthy and fit. Glad she spoke up about this!

  17. noonoo says:

When I lived in South America as a teenager (80’s) ALL the girls dieted by eating abby food. They even wore the black bands from the jars on their wrists, say 30 at a time to show how long they had been dieting. Un-believable, but actually true.

  18. Majosha says:

Teri, you mean to tell me she works out and eats salad every single day? ESCANDALO! What would Jesus say?!?

  19. Some great teeth cleaning tips here
