OK! Magazine: Jennifer Aniston – 7 lbs in 7 days

aniston_ok
OK! Magazine is running one of their misleading cover stories with a photo of Jennifer Aniston’s gorgeous gams and the title “Jen’s Best Body at 41! How she lost 7 lbs in 7 days.” They promise to have details of her diet and exercise plan, but it’s probably cobbled together from things she’s said in past interviews. My favorite diet quote of Aniston’s is the recent “just stop eating sh*t every day,” which basically sums it up best.

For Jen Aniston, 41, life is fabulous! While recently shooting Just Go With It with Adam Sandler, Jen looked hotter than ever. “She looked as if she’s lost a dress size,” a witness tells OK!. “She was really petite and avoided the food on the craft services table. She has discipline.”

Thanks to self-control and a newfound philosophy on eating and exercise, Jen’s achieved her best body ever.

“She recently lost 7 pounds in seven days and she is totally ecstatic,” a source tells OK!.

[From OK!]

I’ve lost 7 pounds in a week before. I wasn’t aiming to lose that much weight so fast, but of course I thought it was awesome. I was dieting, but I ate at least 1200-1500 calories a day and was just exercising hard. I’ve been doing spinning about three times a week along with cardio kickboxing classes on the other days and the weight flies off if I don’t eat enough. The thing is, the couple times that happened I couldn’t help eating a lot the next week so I gained at least 2-3 pounds back. I also have blood sugar problems and will feel dizzy doing cardio if I’m not careful. For me, the only lasting weight loss that’s comfortable is from 1-3 pounds a week. Anything more than that and I end up pigging out and yo-yoing so that it evens out to 1-3 pounds a week anyway.

Experts recommend that you aim to lose just 1-2 pounds a week for sustainable weight loss. In terms of how much exercise we should be doing, here’s a good article from Weight Watchers on the different recommendations for daily and weekly exercise. I’ve had a lot of success with Weight Watchers and have lost 25 pounds so far. That was over a three month period, though. Seven pounds in a week is just not healthy or comfortable. If it was that fast and easy to lose weight we’d all be as svelte as Jennifer Aniston.

Weight Watchers hasn’t contacted or encouraged us to promote their service. Honestly I tried to sign up for their affiliate program but we were denied, so we definitely don’t have an incentive to promote them.

  1. This type of coverage focusing on her body is so tired and generic. Yes, she has a great body. If I had a personal chef and worked out for 2-3 hours a day and had millions in the bank so I didn’t have to do the 9-5, my body would be rocking too.

  2. hellnbackl says:

Nice legs shame about the face…..

  3. Melanie says:

Is that a swimsuit cover-up she is wearing? Cute! But I thought she was pregnant!

  4. meme says:

the woman has had a fantastic body for years. and there’s nothing wrong with her face. i want to see what all you beauts look like.

  5. She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named says:

I just know that whenever I’m wearing spiked heels and a dress designed to show my hoo-hoo if I’m not careful, I ALWAYS take stairs two-at-a-time, ESPECIALLY if I know the paps are watching.

Great body? Yep. Classy? not so much.

  6. Zeit says:

Hey you… weight watchers is all fine and good, but you don’t wanna lose any weight in your jugs!!!

You need to maintain those double Ds!!

  7. rraven says:

Erm..there were other children at the playdate OK magazine. Also OK must be feeling bad by now that they have yet to get a scoop, people mag gets all the PR celeb news, in touch reveals all the skeezy details on affairs and such, and us weekly gets some juicy stuff right too and of course national enquirer, what does OK have? Recycled bermuda triangle news, which is getting pretty old and done better by other mags.. Anyway, yes JA has a fantastic figure, her best feature in my eyes is actually her neck, really long and elegant but you never see it cause of the curtain of hair, but when she pulls it up, she actually looks alright..

  8. Ophelia says:

On the topic of dieting/exercise, I drink at least 6 bottles of water a day and work out damn near every day. I was working out the other day and I had eaten and everything. I took a shower after and was thisclose to passing out. I realized I had been working out every single day and I’m on my feet a lot. If I lost 7 lbs in a week, I’d probably just be fainting everywhere. I hate those diets they say celebs are doing in the rags, they’re always way to extreme. Like the cabbage soup diet. I did that for 5 days and was violently ill for another 3. I did lose about 10 lbs though, lol.

  9. onyx says:

    and.. this is newsworthy how?

  10. Celebitchy says:

Zeit this is Celebitchy, not Kaiser. Kaiser is the one with the double Ds and I’m only rocking a C, which sucks more for me when I lost weight, you know? With bigger boobs you would notice it less.

  11. paleo_fan says:

Switch to the Paleo Diet as a life style (and it is not a fad diet) and you will:
    feel better
have bigger cup size and smaller waist
    have no sugar cravings
    never be hungry
have fat loss without noticing it..
    have no headaches, faints dizziness

    and you don’t even
Need to run miles on the treadmill

I have tried everything out there, from 1200 calories low fat diet to Montignac, Cabbage soup to Zone, Atkins to vegetarian and by personal experience, I have never felt and looked good in my entire life.

    Give it a shot

  12. snowball says:

She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, if I had an ass and legs like that, you’d be lucky to get me out of a swimsuit and stilettos and I’d be taking steps three at a time.

What’s your point? I assume you’re comparing her to that bastion of taste, but I’m sure we can dig up some pics if you’d care to Bing or Google with me. Perhaps some of someone giving tongue to a brother? Klassy.

I’m with you CB, I lost 10 lbs. in a week from working too many hours and barely eating (from lack of time). I practically passed out every time I stood up, I don’t know how anyone can sustain that kind of weight loss, even for a week without rebounding.

Ha, my boobs are the first place I lose it, which sucks, since I’d rather not have A cups with a size 12 ass.

  13. Celebitchy says:

@paleo – I have tried that paleo diet and believe that it’s a very good option. It’s similar to the Westin Price recommendations as to what we eat. However, I also believe that vegetarian diets are viable options for people or that other diets can work and make us just as healthy. It’s a matter of getting the right nutrients and minerals and a lot of healthy diets can accomplish that.

  14. bite me says:

of course aniston is Klassy, i mean shes america sweatherst after all

  15. LindyLou says:

I lost 7 lbs in one week just eating lots of veggies, fruit and avoiding processed foods. Drink lots of water and most important – cut wayyyy back on your salt – you will see a difference. I lost 3 lbs in one day once all the sodium left my body…it’s amazing how much fluid you retain when you eat too much salt.

  16. Miranda Ann says:

I seriously doubt Jennifer had to lose 7 pounds because she has been in great shape for as long as I’ve known who she was, which has been since she married Brad. (I never saw “Friends”.) Anyway, the woman has a great body and looks healthy. You don’t get that with fad dieting. OK is just running this cover because they had nothing else to run and Jen sells. Pretty pathetic, if you ask me, especially compared with the real news on the cover of “People” this week.

  17. Cheyenne says:

Sure you can do that kind of weight loss over a short period of time, but over the long haul you will gain it all back plus a few more pounds.

Diets don’t work. What does work is sensible eating habits. I eat whatever I want in moderate amounts, keep the junk food to a bare minimum, and I’ve been a size 4 or 6 since I was 25.

  18. wif says:

Well, I just lost six pounds in 3 days…because I have a stupid blood infection that’s targeting my lymph nodes. Maybe Aniston just has regularily scheduled illnesses. 😉

  19. Richi says:

    Killer legs i must say!!!!

  20. dread pirate cuervo says:

Aniston would probably end up in the hospital if she lost 7 pounds b/c that would mean her arm got cut off. Look at her, she’s got no fat on her to lose. Looks great, as usual!

Also, I loooove the Paleo diet. I thought it would be hard to give up the few starches I did eat, but the complete disappearance of sugar cravings more than makes up for the whole wheat toast.

  21. Strawberry says:

She’s hot, but needs to quit it with the smoking and tanning. That will age her so much, and soon.

  22. ogechi says:

Jen’s face is so so beautiful. Her legs completely sweet, she also has flesh! She is truly beautiful, i envy her.

  23. Zeit says:

ah… I’m sure you rock em’ well!

  24. pumak says:

not tired of watching this woman… she s absolutely gorgeous.. all of her!

  25. meme says:

@She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Name – what stairs? she’s stepping onto the sidewalk.

  26. Dallas says:

    Gorgeous!

  27. Miss Thang says:

Wow, they really wanted an easy issue this week! Jen’s completely open about her diet and workout and has done several magazine covers with fitness magazines where she “reveals” her workout schedule. She’s totally open about all that and I love that! Now, if only I had her dedication and no hormonal issues…

  28. NicoleB says:

Jennifer Aniston (along with Halle Berry) are great examples of how you can stay young and fresh without looking overdone and ridiculous. Jen looks great and seemingly gets better with age. Team Aniston!!!

  29. teri says:

Isn’t team Aniston like years ago, grow up. Unless your 15 then never mind.

  30. Me says:

These stupid sentences/ cliches are driving me nuts. Seriously, have you ever seen her looking hotter than right now? What absolute bollocks! Of course once you’ve passed 30 you know full well that you’ll never be as fuckin’ fresh and radiant ever again. Or do we get to the point when the media will worship a 90 year old Aniston, saying she’s never looked sexier? Honestly the media should have a check with reality. If people were blind or stupid bording on illiterate, we wouldn’t be able to read the bloody “news”, would we???

  31. lucy2 says:

Miranda Ann, I agree! She didn’t have 7 lbs to lose, that’s ridiculous, and for someone in as good shape as her, losing that much that fast would probably be impossible and/or dangerous. I don’t buy it, and agree that they’re looking for something that sells, and Jen sells.

  32. Crash2GO2 says:

I think the sun is good for some of us. I know it is for me! My skin darkens very quickly, I rarely burn, and I feel sooooo good after I’ve been out soaking up the rays for awhile. The trick is to not over due it, and I’ve never seen Jennifer burned. She is half greek, and has naturally olive skin. It carries it’s own sunscreen protection called melanin that works a whole lot better than any sunscreen you could slather on. 🙂 I probably shouldn’t say anything, but there are studies coming out that show that sunscreens are far more problematic than a lot of people realize.

I won’t argue about the smoking. But I don’t know how much she does it. I don’t every see photos of her smoking.?

  33. Melanie says:

I love Jennifer! God Bless you Jennifer, you are a wonderful lady. TEAM ANISTON!

  34. voiceover says:

She IS classy. I think it drives people nuts that she doesn’t have skeletons in her closet for them to fixate on, so it’s endless, meaningless debates on how her shoes are too high or her hair is too blonde. She doesn’t wear anything different from other people her age in Hollywood. Anybody remember that daringly low-cut dress worn by Helen Mirren on the red carpet a few years ago? If you can do it, do it. And I think that people continue to talk about how good she looks because…she looks good. She looks really fresh and happy, which are signs of a healthy, happy lifestyle. Good on her. I don’t know why people reach for reasons to dislike her. She’s always minded her own business. No insane interviews talking about controversial topics. No couch jumping or pill swapping. No scandals. What is it with her that gets people hatin’? Oh right. She’s tan. So we hate her.

  35. Cheyenne says:

@Crash: the problem with skin damage from too much sun is you usually don’t see it until it’s too late. Check out any reference on malignant melanoma.

  36. Melanie says:

I really like Jennifer. She is so cool and classy. What a natural wonderful good looking kind sweet sexy lady. LOVE LOVE Jennifer A. She rocks. Her hair is adorable and her body is smokin! God smiles on Jennifer because she is rich and cool.

  37. voiceover says:

    LOL at Melanie!

  38. archiepelago says:

Amen voiceover. Never understood the hate for her. Now people like Kim Kardashian or Kate ThingyMcCan’tDance who sell themselves for fame, those are the ones I have a problem with but any actor or actress who makes it based on hard work and talent, then good on ’em.

  39. Lilias says:

OK was really really hurting for a story. I’ve lost 7 pounds in a week and I felt great. Of course I was 140 pounds at the time and really needed that extra weight off of me. But I’ve accidentally lost weight too due to high stress and undereating and I felt like sh*t. I was tired and listless for about a week after it happened until I started eating properly again.

Her advice is perfect: Once I stopped drinking soda and eating high-salt, high-fat foods and starting making my own meals at home I lost a ton of weight and I feel better. I just feel healthier.

  40. sara says:

Healthy? She’s a chain smoker. Great role model. Check out her entry on smokingsides.com. She had the nerve to promote a cancer charity recently, and the fawning paps wouldn’t even point out the obvious hypocrisy. Most celeb smokers–esp. women–are careful never to be photographed holding a cigarette.

BTW, the Westin Price Foundation has shady funding sources and promotes junk science. It has been widely discredited but has a couple of very effective flacks to hide that information.

  41. benny says:

I’m osrry but you cannot lose 7 pounds in seven days. Each pound is 3,500 calories. That means you have to burn 3,500 MORE than you eat each day.

If you ate NOTHING (0 calories) and jogged 35 miles per day (100 calories per mile), maybe then you can burn 3,500 more calories than you eat each day. But you would also be dead.

At most, she probably lost water weight and is noe dehydrated. As soon as she replaces the water (necessary to be healthy) they weight will be right there.

These articles are dangerous for women.

  42. RHONYC says:

    3 words:

    BAD

    LEGS

  43. sara says:

Sorry, typo. It’s the Weston Price Foundation. Here’s one of many scathing critiques of its “science.”

    http://www.diseaseproof.com/archives/debunking-diet-myths-weston-a-price-foundation-stupid-traditions.html

Please do not follow a high-protein/no-or-low-carb diet. It can be dangerous. Much research shows that the Atkins-type approach and its many incarnations are potentially harmful. The human body’s physiology was not designed for such imbalanced food intake.

Celebrities are trend-driven morons who are easy marks for any quackster out there. Don’t do as they do. You don’t hear about the harmful consequences of some of these crash diets (unless it’s Queen Moron GOOP who ended up in the hospital from an idiotic enema experience that could have given her an extremely risky electrolyte imbalance).

It is unhealthy and potentially dangerous to do the Master Cleanse or any other regimen that deprives your body of carbohydrates, minerals, protein, and vitamins and can result in dehydration from the metabolism of emergency glycogen stores.

  44. Victoria says:

    @Celebitchy
Congratulations on loosing 25lbs! Good job!

  45. Chico says:

How can she be a role model if she smokes and suntans? She probably smokes to stay so skinny b/c it dulls your appetite. And, a person who has 2 chefs telling others not to “eat shit”?
Healthy foods can be VERY expensive and cooking is time-consuming, unfortunately. She has no idea how most normal people live. Most people would love to have healthy food hand-delivered by private chefs. Shame on her for being so clueless and dumb.

  46. Morgs says:

    @Paleo

I’ve never felt or looked better than when I am truly rocking the paleo way of eating.

    Love the Paleo!!

  47. Morgs says:

Oh Jesus Christ.”Shame on her for being so clueless and dumb”. wtf are you talking about? The whole “healthy food is so expensive” excuse is overplayed. Buying a head of lettuce, a tomato, and a cucumber with some frozen chicken (that has obviously been thawed) is no more expensive than buying a to-go meal. And she lives in California! We have fresh produce all year round. I understand and empathize that fresh food can be more expensive in other states, because we do have it so good.

I work two jobs and go to school. But throwing together some greens (buy frozen when produce is too expensive) and chicken is not all that time consuming. If people really wanted to make it happen, they would.

  48. Lilias says:

Chico: Cooking at home is not time consuming. It takes me longer to drive to the mcdonalds, wait in line, pay for food and drive back home than it does to make a chicken sandwich at home.

Healthy food doesn’t have to be expensive either. Pepper/salt/garlic powder are very cheap and you need very little to get some flavor in your food.

You can buy frozen vegetables and steam them in 10 minutes. You can buy a bag of frozen chicken breasts and defrost/boil a couple of them, cook them, chop them up and eat them throughout the week.

I make minimum wage and I eat at home. I buy from the regular grocery store. I made a shrimp pasta last night that when I priced out all the items in it cost me less than $6. And I have enough ingredients to make that same pasta every night of this week. Getting the water up to a boil was the longest process and I was preparing the ingredients during that time.

I live with my younger sister and we make it work. My mom was a single mother and had three kids and we were POOR. My mom made it work. She bought bags of frozen chicken breasts, heads of romaine lettuce (which are cheap cheap cheap but filling and have lots of vitamins), frozen vegetables (broccoli, green beans, peas, carrots, corn), fish. There is nothing wrong with eating frozen vegetables. Steam them, don’t boil. You can steam in the microwave-you can get a fancy plastic microwave steamer set for 12 bucks on amazon. $12 and you’re on your way to healthier meals.

I know what it’s like to be tired and just not want to cook after I get home from work but I think my personal health is worth it.

  49. Beth says:

Really off-topic but how many diet secrets can Kendra have? Every week for the past 3 or 4 months she and Kourtney have been on at least one cover telling their diets or showing their post baby bodies. It’s really annoying.

  50. Chico says:

What are you talking about, Morgs?

Eating healthy is MORE expensive than eating processed foods. That’s a known fact. A head of broccoli here is $1.99 a pound, which can buy you two double cheeseburgers at McDonalds. You can buy Mac and Cheese for 33 cents, but a small cartoon of blueberries is $3.00. Plus, I do know a bit about food, as I have a nutritionist in the family. In order to be healthy, humans need a WIDE variety of fruits and vegetables to get the different range of vitamins, minerals, bata-carotenes and phytonutrients. Each fruit and veggie has a different range of nutrients; you can’t live off the same vegetables every day. This is the reason why kids who eat processed foods can be obese and experience nutrient difficiencies, because they eat the same type of foods daily.

Frozen veggies are ok, but it’s so much better to eat fresh/seasonal. I find the frozen stuff tasteless and the variety is limited. I live in California and it is really expensive to eat well, as I prefer eating healthy and organic. My food bill is A LOT higher than my roomates who eats crappy food (she works two jobs and has a child). And, cooking is a bother, esp the clean-up. You can do quick-fix foods, but that can be dull.

I agree with Aniston, but I don’t like someone who smokes, drinks, suntans, and who has 2 chefs dispensing useless advice to us plebians. Most people know to eat better, but they don’t have the time, effort and the money that it takes (like my poor roommate).

  51. michellllle says:

Thanks to all those willing to share their Paleo key to success. I’m having trouble losing the baby weight after twins & was looking for a new approach.

  52. starduster says:

Jennifer Aniston is a woman who came through a horrible divorce with dignity and grace and wasn’t shown drinking herself into a stupor. She has a great deal of class and grace…..she does not have to be a nun to do so. She has her business, her work, and she has many friends. Why mock her? At 41 she is sucessful and Yes she promotes her movies…that’s what you do in that business. Yea TEAM ANISTON.

  53. DD says:

I didn’t realize she had 7 pounds to lose.

  54. Crash2GO2 says:

@Cheyenne: So, are you saying that the sun is bad for you? Because I’m not quite understanding what your trying to argue with me about here (except just trying to argue as usual). Because the sun itself is not bad for you. In fact it is essential. Do you remember ricketts? People are getting it again.

    TEAM ANISTON! 🙂

  55. Ruffian9 says:

“I agree with Aniston, but I don’t like someone who smokes, drinks, suntans, and who has 2 chefs dispensing useless advice to us plebians.”

    Chico, thank you.

Crash2GO2, I’m with Cheyenne, as is any reputable dermatologist. The sun feels great, I’ll give you that.

  56. Morgs says:

    Chico-

I’ll refer you to Ilias’s comment. She explains much more eloquently than I can.

As one healthy eater to another, have you tried the farmers market and Asian groceries? I always find really really good deals.

Oh, and I grow a lot of my herbs and lettuce in pots that I stick in the window. Making the lettuce cost pretty much pennies.

  57. Camille says:

All I see glaring at me from that magazine cover is that huge jaw/chin combo. Sometimes I just can’t get past that smug mug to see the great body beneath…
And oh yeah, she is just sooo relatable! (Yeah right LOL). These ragmags are a total joke.

  58. Ana says:

I think this is a load of crap because I don’t think she had any weight to lose either.

I’ve lost five pounds in one day a few months ago. I was sooooo sick. Gained it back the next day, it’s a good thing I didn’t get dehydrated.

Is it weird that some days I eat less than 1000 calories a day and feel normal?

  59. onyx says:

    yawn!

  60. Cheyenne says:

Crashie, rickets is caused by a lack of calcium in your diet. I thought even you knew that.

There is ample evidence that overexposure to sun is dangerous. Basal cell carcinoma, for instance. If that’s not enough for you, try a dose of melanoma. But you might not survive that.

“Team Aniston”? What’s with this “team” bullshit? How old are you, Crashie, really? Did you turn your brains off in middle school?

  61. Lilias says:

No, a deficiency of vitamin D is the catalyst for what causes rickets. Something about absorbing vitamin D in it’s active form acts as a hormone to regulate calcium levels in the body. Our bodies make vitamin D when exposed to UVB rays of sunlight. We can eat vitamin D in some foods and take supplements.

But the sun is a great way to let the body produce it’s own vitamin D. Prolonged sun exposure without adequate protection, I will admit, is bad for you.

But people get rickets because they don’t have enough vitamin D acting as a hormone to regulate calcium and phosphate in your bones.

  62. Lilias says:

An interesting article you might want to read Cheyenne: http://www.cdc.gov/media/pressrel/r010330.htm

I think you will now be better informed and won’t try to tear others down with misinformation.

  63. Praise St. Angie! says:

    ahem.

actually, the PRIMARY cause of rickets is vitamin D deficiency. see, vitamin D helps to metabolize calcium, which effects how it’s deposited in the bones. you can be getting TONS of calcium in your diet, but if you don’t get enough vitamin D, you can get rickets.

sure, a simple lack of calcium can also lead to rickets but it’s not the primary cause.

and yes, OVERexposure to the sun will damage your skin, but limited exposure, with a high SPF sunscreen, is actually GOOD for you. (the sun is a good source of vitamin D…)

I hope Harvard Medical is a legitimate enough resource.

always funny to see our resident pedant acting like they know all.

EDIT: I see Lilias is onto this as well…thanks!

  64. She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named says:

wow, must’ve touched a nerve. What’s my point?

My point was pretty clear as stated, and I think that in that particular shot, it’s a fair point to make.

No hidden messages about Jolie, for god’s sake, get a grip.

  65. Crash2GO2 says:

Thanks for the back-up guys. I guess Cheyenne is the one who ‘turned her brain off in middle school’. ROTFL!!!

I’m a research biologist Cheyenne. Just FYI. 😉

  66. Crash2GO2 says:

Oh, and since you apparently turned your sense of humor off in middle school, I was hollering ‘Team Aniston’ with the others who were doing it here as a joke.

    Now go take a nap.

Oh – here is some nice reading for you about what you thought you knew everything about.

  67. Jag says:

I’ve always said that if she would put out a workout video of what she actually does to stay in such great shape, I’d buy it in a heartbeat even though she’s not my favorite. Her legs are gorgeous.
