Amy Adams finally gave birth – to a girl named Aviana Olea

A very pregnant Amy Adams is in a good mood as she's seen smiling after leaving El Compadre Restaurant in LA

Didn’t it feel like Amy Adams was pregnant for more than a year? It really seemed that way to me. I could have sworn that she was pregnant (and showing) at this time last year. In any case, the gestating is over and Amy finally gave birth! She and her fiancée Darren Legallo welcomed their daughter on Saturday in LA. They’ve named the little girl Aviana Olea Legallo. My Lord, that’s a mouthful. It also sounds very birdlike, probably because of my association of “Aviana” to “avian”. Birdy McItalian.

Baby makes three!

Amy Adams and fiancé Darren Legallo welcomed 7-lb. daughter Aviana Olea Legallo on Saturday in Los Angeles, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“Mom and baby are home and doing great,” says Adams’s rep. “Everyone’s healthy and happy.”

Shortly after announcing her pregnancy in December, the actress said she and Legallo planned to find out the sex of their baby on the way.

“I thought about waiting and I just don’t think that’s really my personality,” Adams, 35, said.

With nine months to prepare for baby, the Julie and Julia star also made sure to take care of her own needs.

“It’s been good for me,” she told USA Today. “I’ve benefited a lot from taking some downtime and working on friendships and really reconnecting with my fiancé.”

Congratulations to the happy family! Later this year, Amy will be promoting The Fighter, that film where Christian Bale lost a lot of weight (again) and began looking like a crackhead (in his defense, he was playing a crackhead). She’s also got four projects lined up, including the sequel to Enchanted. The studios have probably been holding all of these projects for a while (a year?), waiting out Amy’s pregnancy. So… you know what I’m saying? Amy has to go back to work very soon. I hope she enjoys her maternity leave while it lasts (not for very long).

I love Amy. My favorite part she played was Brenda Strong the nurse, in Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio.

    And, Katy on The Office.

She is fresh, funny, cute and very, very talented. Oh, and beautiful! Love the long red hair and her beautiful skin. Plus she just seems so darn nice. Like you could hang out with her.

  2. Jazz says:

    It’s about time! Congrats!

  3. Tess says:

    Aviana Olea?

Does that margarine have trans fats?

  4. Julie says:

Amy Adams is one of my all time favorites. A great actress and by all accounts a very sweet person. Congrats to her and her family.

This is only my opinion, but Amy should have won the Oscar for Junebug, her breakout performance. Rachel Weisz was very good in The Constant Gardner, but that really was Amy’s Oscar. I’m sure we all have favorites who we feel should have won but didn’t. Also loved her in Catch Me If You Can.

    Flying Butter?

  6. K.L. says:

Man, I love Amy Adams, but that child’s name reminds me of some type of really expensive olive oil.

  7. thebutlerdidit says:

maybe she was watching Cyrus’ new video while eating a butter substitute? I like unusual names, usually. However, not this one.

  8. Sumodo1 says:

It’s a new face cream, too.

  9. Patrice says:

Congtras to Amy and Darren : ) I’m sure this little baby is a doll, but man, I have to agree about that name! I’m sure she wanted to go all exotic because her fiancee is Italian, but it doens’t even sound like a real ITALIAN name. Lol.

Let’s hope for the child’s sake they call her something like “Avi” (maybe prounounced Ayvee or Ahvi) for short.
I’m so over parents giving their kids names that the kids themselves won’t even be able to pronounce until kindergarten!(I used to be a teacher and I’d see it happen all the time).

Dread pirate cuervo beat me to it, I was going to say bird butter?

Hey, at least the child is not named after a piece of fruit!

  11. Nanea says:

If there’s ever another outbreak of the avian flu, the poor girl will be teased even more…

  12. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Yup, we were all thinking the same thing. Is this a facial regimen or wartime ration list?

The worst, however, was this poor former schoolmate of mine named Spatula. She was Francophone though, so it was actually ‘Spatule’, but that’s really not the point. Last I heard about her was that she got pregnant in junior high. Poor girl. Oh, oh wait! I just remembered a woman named Spontaneous. I felt the most intense guilt for wanting to point and laugh in her face. I kept that a bay, though. It’s probably what gave me my limp.

  13. KateNonymous says:

Was Amy Adams in some sort of contest to see who could come up with a name containing the highest percentage of vowels?

  14. Jeri says:

Congratulations to her & her finance. She’s beautiful & seems very nice, I hope the 3 (& counting?) of them will be happy.

  15. Camille says:

Aww congrats to them! I really like her, she seems a sweety and doesn’t come off as fake to me.
But yeah weird name for the baby.

  16. Linda says:

    Jo ‘Mama’ Besser:
Totally random — but funny as hell!!!

  17. Katyusha says:

It’s hilarious that the kid’s name reminds everyone of butter or face creams!

I look at the name and only see “areola.”

  18. I Choose Me says:

@Jo Mama Besser, one of my nephew’s name is Dijon. (He’s funny and smart as heck) It’s spelt the same and everything. When my sister told me she was having another baby I joked that she should name that one Heinz. She had a girl that go round named her Sharina, which I actually like.

Oh and here’s an old joke around my neck of the woods. Once upon a time there was a girl named Idona. She played hooky from school one day and got caught by a truant officer. When asked her name she of course said Idona. (say it out loud) Needless to say the officer was not amused. 😀

NATURAL REMEDIES AGAINST ACNE: The lemon juice is also good to remove or reduce acne. The application of lemon juice diluted with water for several days on the affected area will help gradually decreased the amount of acne. If you do this, it is very important not to take the sun because it can cause burns and leave marks on the skin. # Spend a clove of garlic on the affected area usually help reduce pimples and blackheads.
