Here is the latest ad for Smart Water, featuring their spokesgirl Jennifer Aniston. Generally speaking, I think this is a product-and-model combo that really works. People associate Aniston with good health and taking care of oneself, and that’s an image that Aniston accentuates for the ads. All of the ads have been black-and-white, from my memory. And usually they feature some sort of self-help-speak poetry about water and love and souls. This time Aniston and Smart Water skipped the poetry and went for abs and Photoshop. Now, wait a minute! I really do think these are Aniston’s abs. I buy that she’s that amazingly toned, although dollars to donuts she’s sucking it in (as we all would have). No, I think her face is heavily ‘Shopped. That’s not her nose! And that’s not her chin and jawline either.
Anyway, good for Jennifer. I remember reading that part of her model/endorsement deal for Smart Water was a stock option in addition to a flat contract, and I also remember hearing that her stock options have paid off well. Here are some older Smart Water ads featuring Jennifer:

Every single part of her is Photoshoped. And I’ve seen her skin in real life, not good skin at all, it’s really scary actually.

I think her head is just turned up just enough to look straight up her nose and make her chin look less Resse-esque.
They definitely did something to her nose, and made it look worse! Hard to tell about the jawline, given the angle and lighting, but most likely they did touch it up somewhat.
No doubt her figure is fantastic, but I think they’re playing with the lighting and photoshop a bit on her side too – one leg up AND bending to the side usually makes some sort of line, no matter how in shape you are, doesn’t it?
I think she looks pretty in the ads, but the older 2 are better.
wasn’t it great to start a bottle and be “last picked for dodge ball” and by the time you were done “strong like bull”?
I am also thinking it is the angle the camera was at, gave her that unfortunate nose in the picture.
But I suspect that is her body. Maybe with a little helpful shadowing to define out her stomach. She does have a great body. So I can’t hate on her, she has worked hard for a decade to maintain it.
She looks good… I actually saw the video for this shoot on youtube and that my friends is exactly how her body looks. Jealous much?
In the 2nd and 3rd pics, they probably cleaned up under/around the eyes, but I don’t see full-on Photoshop abuse.
B&W film with “creative” lighting (and then tweaking the light-dark contrast for the wash-out effect) can result in pics like these.
She looks great– not a classic beauty, but cute as a button with a bangin’ body.
PS Smart Water is a scam. The trace elemental electrolytes they put in do nothing to help beyond regular hydration in a strenuous workout.
@stephiespoon: A “ski jump” nose refers to the bridge, not the nostrils. Think Bob Hope.
They photoshopped her chin to make it look smaller, her nose probably looks like that because the took the picture looking up.
For sure there is photoshopping going on – as there is in anything in print pretty much these days. But I don’t see anything too major here: the nose/chin issue you’re seeing is simply down to the lighting and angle of her face. Besides, there was a video of this shoot that was posted on twitter by the lighting company and she is seriously in shape and toned – photoshop notwithstanding.

Her nose definitely looks photoshopped to me. I had to do a double take before I realized that it was Jennifer Aniston.
BTW, does anybody else think that the 2nd photo is pretty bad? It looks like they took her head and shopped it onto someone else’s body. Her head is disproportionately large, and I don’t think Jen has that much cleavage (even with a push-up bra).
i didn’t notice the nose thing. The first thing I noticed was that one of her legs looked like it went to a Stretch Armstrong doll.

She is not that wrinkle-free. I never get why celeb photos are so photoshopped. I think it looks just fine to see a woman in her 40’s with a few wrinkles. Natural is much more attractive.
Her smoking and sun exposure would have given her wrinkles by now. She doesn’t look much like herself in the ad, but I’m not sure how much was tinkered with.
I’ve seen Jen close up… her skin IS quite nice. She has a few laugh lines around her eyes, but nothing too major.

She looks like 5 years ago Lindsay Lohan. I really hate the pose. It looks unnatural and uncomfortable. Lately a lot of her photos a like that.
I think she has her leg lifted up and resting on something…I can do that myself and I’m not even that skinny. It’s just the flexibility. She IS a very pretty person, but I still think the Smart Water thing is false advertisement. Honestly, I stick to the regular priced waters, (Ozarka or store brand), no need for the expensive kind,lol.

Wow has she widdled away at that nose over the years! She must have had at least a dozen nose tweaks. It looks good but she needs to stop now because its beginning to look like a fake nose.
It looks like they plumped up her lips as well.
That is one weird looking picture, everything looks off some how. The makeup they put on her shows off how close together her eyes are as well. Eek. And they did something bad to her nose as she looks, well, pig like. NOT a good picture/ad at all!
The only pic of her in these ads that looks even remotely like she does is the one with her finger on her lips.
There’s nothing smart about this water.
And people should stop taking supplements. No peer-reviewed study has ever proven that e.g. multivitamins have any positive effect beyond that of lining the manufacturer’s coffers.

They photo-shopped her face in all the ads. She has a super weird square jaw that is softened; and it looks like they took out the character lines in her face and did something odd to her nose. I am sure she gets final approval – but that is her true face.
I would never buy Smart Water because it is related to her. I detest anything and everything about Miss Piggy.

She looks the same to me. She’s got her head tilted back, so thus, as the world works, you can see up her nose. It’s obviously still her nose. And that’s how her body looks. Her stomach looks flat and normal, as it does in pap shots and other photoshoots. Oh well. This site is all about teams, so it’s not popular to say that she looks herself in every way.
Does she need the money? Last I heard, she’s filthy rich. Plus, she’s selling bottled water–way to be eco-friendly. AND, she smokes. So healthy!

Jen’s skin looks damn good. There’s a shot of her floating around, some extreme closeup that had people tittering about what they thought was cocaine around her nostrils, and believe me, you could see every hair. Her skin was incredible.
Obviously, there’s some Photoshopping going on. When isn’t there? But please, some of you can take the Mannifer out and at least acknowledge some of it is due to her tipping her head back. It changes the angle of her chin and jaw, which was probably the point in the first place. I’m not saying it wasn’t further “enhanced,” but the photographer helped it along first.

Jen is fabulous. How many 40 y/o women do you know with that body?? I’m a big fan- loved her in Friends and I think she’s even more beautiful now. Everything is Photo shopped these days so why are people still talking about that? Get over it. This ad is great. The only part I believe is Photo shopped is her nose.

Even with the camera looking up at her, its not totally in her face looking up at her, so Jen’s type of nose wouldn’t ever look like it does in this ad. Its a shame too because that is a pig nose and it looks awful. Jen is still hot though and whoever said she was having work done to her nose and that’s why it looks this way, that’s just stupid. Everyone knows she’s one of the few women in Hollywood who hasn’t had any cosmetic surgery done to her face and maybe not at all. (Botox doesn’t count.)Just compare old & recent pictures of her and you’ll see she’s all natural. Beautiful ad except for the nose, but as someone else said- totally pointless post.

It´s so funny how people are photoshop experts nowadays! The picture has been enhanced , yes, mainly because those are ad shots and that´s what printed ads “should” look like. Clearly the aim here it was just to refine , not modify the whole aspect of the original shot/model.
