Lindsay Lohan’s hardcore judge quits on her cracked-out ass

Actress Lindsay Lohan reacts following her sentencing by Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel during a probation status hearing in Beverly Hills, California on July 6, 2010. Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail Tuesday after ruling she violated probation in a 2007 drug case by failing to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes. Does everyone remember my girlfriend Judge Marsha Revel? She was the lady who sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 jails in jail for her crackhead ways. She didn’t take sh-t from Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and Revel also publicly reamed Lindsay’s alcohol education class system, which was pretty awesome. Anyway, Judge Marsha has withdrawn herself from Lindsay’s case! Too bad. This sucks:

TMZ has learned … Judge Marsha Revel has removed herself from the Lindsay Lohan case after allegations the judge improperly contacted people involved in the case.

Sources tell us … lawyers in the case had a conference call with Judge Revel last Friday at 3:30 PM. Lawyers complained that Judge Revel had contacted “participants and experts” in the case without notifying the the lawyers in advance.

We’re told one of the issues — Judge Revel took it upon herself to make contact with people from the Morningside Recovery rehab facility and then selected Morningside, even though it was not on the list of recommended facilities by her own court-appointed experts. Ultimately, Lindsay’s lawyer convinced Judge Revel to send LiLo to UCLA. But the issue was raised on Friday.

Judge Elden Fox — who also presides in Bev Hills — is the new judge on the case.

UPDATE: Sources in the D.A.’s Office tell TMZ … prosecutor Danette Meyers was the one who raised the objection with Judge Revel on Friday. We’re told Judge Revel voluntarily recused herself before Meyers filed legal papers to have her removed.

UPDATE: We’re told among the prosecutor’s complaints — Judge Revel spoke with Morningside reps at least twice, medical experts at least twice, and Robert Shapiro in chambers without the lawyers being notified in advance.

[From TMZ]

It sounds like the prosecution was mad that Judge Revel was doing their work for them, doesn’t it? That Revel fancied herself an investigator. Which isn’t the worst thing – if it’s one thing that Lindsay actually needs, it’s someone who is on her ass all the time, calling her crack lies one by one. Oh well. Maybe the new judge will be a hard bitch with a mom voice too. We can only hope!

One last Lohan story: When asked about who she does not envy, Jennifer Aniston’s name-checked Blohan. Aniston said: “I don’t envy Lindsay Lohan. Poor thing.” Poor Lindsay. Is there anything worse?!?

    Jennifer Aniston. Lindsay Lohan.
Between a rock and a hard place.

  2. Ruby Red Lips says:

Boo! I bet the new judge is probably a ‘celeb’ judge and will allow Lindsay to get away with her crack shenanigans….

    Marsha Revel lost…nooooooo!

  3. meme says:

White Oprah must have been told to keep her yap shut or we’d have known about this already. Now Hohan gets to add more drama to the sad saga she will get paid millions to tell once she gets out of rehab (does she get out early now too?)

  4. Kitten says:

I just have to add contex to that JA quote (to be fair). The comment was made during one of those cheesy Entertainment TV (Extra maybe?)segments where they do a rapid fire question and she has to fill-in-the-blanks. So the interviewer was like “I am best at _____” and then JA would fill in the response. The interviewer asked “I don’t envy____” and she said “I don’t envy Lindsey Lohan”. It was much much more innocent than it seems. She was basically just saying she doesn’t envy her because she’s in jail.
There. My celeb justice done for the day 🙂

  5. serena says:

Oh my god, jennifer aniston’s insane too. Poor thing?
    Again with this shit.
I loved this judje too, siiiigh.

  6. bellaluna says:

Yeah, sounds like the prosecution got their panties in a twist over the judge doing their job for them.

  7. AMS511 says:

    haha kitten….funny.

  8. Me1st says:

I hope that they are not going to argue that the whole case be re-tried since there is another judge…

  9. lucy2 says:

After all that cracked-out craziness, the judge was probably like oh screw it, I’m outta here.

  10. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Probably because anyone who would respond to that question in that manner has rocks in her head.

You wanna know why people are assholes? Because we give them shiny medals to reward them for being screw-ups. She’s not a little girl lost, she’s a recidivist. If you want to bathe her sweet kisses for that, have at it, but let it be on your heads when the storm comes.

It must be a culture clash/generational thing. My family is much older than me, and I come from immigrant stock: that does not lend itself to leniency. As powerfully (overly)strict as immigrant guardians can be, I’m still often flabbergasted by the differences in norms in family dynamics. Man, what would’ve happened to me if I pulled a tenth of this? I don’t know, you would have to ask the coroner.

Is it not apparent that all of this coddling isn’t working, or should we all go ‘aw, poor thing’, because we don’t anyone to think that we’re *gasp* not nice for a few minutes. Fine. The kids are wonderful, they’re fine, perfect, sainted, even. They’ll set the business district on fire and there will always be squads of people tying themselves in knots thinking of ways to explain how it isn’t the guilty party’s fault. Very effective, Freud.

We’re all so obsessed with looking kind and benevolent for whoever is in the immediate vicinity, the fact that we’re being ineffectvely doesn’t even register. Being compassionate does not mean absolving a person of all responsibility when it comes to his or her actions, and it sure as hell doesn’t mean that requiring better from people is a sure marker of jealously, disatisfction in one’s life, or chronic ‘haterism’.

  11. Lisa says:

@Mama’ Besser: I totally agree with you. I think this speaks volumes about Hollywood and it’s double standards. Celebs wouldn’t get away with so much if they were held accountable. Lindsey got where she is by being surrounded by less than honest individuals and she didn’t make the right choices. One person-(the judge) did the right thing and it seems like the prosecution is jealous of all the positive attention she got, way to go!! Idiots!!

  12. Rita says:

Any judge who cares enough to look into these situations personally is worth their weight in gold. One of the reasons Lilo is in this situation is that no one has given a sh-t about anything but themselves. Kudos to-da judge…we need more like her.

  13. dread pirate cuervo says:

    Amen, Jo Mama! Amen!

  14. meme says:

Jo ‘Mama’ is my new hero. Go Jo!

  15. Jeri says:

I think Judge Revel did a great job. It is seldom that any true justice is administered these days, Judge Revel believes in justice for all (including celebs).

  16. Tia C says:

Well, this is a shame. Judge Revel seemed to be the first and only person Lilo has come in contact with who didn’t put up with her BS!! It does sound like she overstepped her bounds, though. I suspect she got a little too personally involved in this case. Let’s hope the next judge is a hardass, too!! And that’s not to be mean, but Lilo REALLY needs that. Permissiveness obviously hasn’t worked for her.

  17. Marjalane says:

It pisses me off that a beautiful state like California is in the toilet because of crap like this- bad decisions all the way around. It’s more important to keep handing out entitlements than to build more prisons, thus forcing judges and jailers to make perpetual bad decisions. I don’t doubt for a minute that this judge was OVER having her decisions second guessed by celebrity lovers. Lindsey is a loser and deserves to be treated just as poorly as any junkie off the street; no doubt she and her “team”, (Dina and Ali) will try to figure out a way to sue the state for something ridiculous.

Too bad the three strike rule doesn’t apply to skeevy drugged out actresses. Oh, and Charlie Sheen. Christ.

  18. coup de grazia says:

lilo is obvs a total asshole, but revel was out of line doing this stuff, and she knew it. now revel is an asshole too b/c the family lohan is going to use this to scream about “proof” that the judge was wrong to sentence lilo’s dumb ass.

  19. CB Rawks says:

    Good stuff, Jo Mama!

  20. Innocent says:

    @Marjalane
The three strikes rule doesn’t apply to Lindsay as she has 7 misdemeanors.
It’s obvious this judge was too involved in this case. Yes she deserved jail time for violating her probation but the rehab and formal probation wasn’t even on the table when she completed the program. The D.A was asking for 30 days in jail and the scram to stay on until she finished the program. This judge imposing such a harsh sentence has actually hurt her and now she is off the case.

  21. meme says:

is hohan out of rehab yet? her probation will probably be over 56 minutes after she gets out.

  22. Innocent says:

    @meme
She is getting out on October 31st and then has 48 hours to report to the probation office.
I definetly think after she completes her program her lawyer will argue about the terms of the formal probation and say she needs to work and is in recovery etc.

  23. jc126 says:

Is that a bit of dirt on her lip, or a little mole? She ought to keep an eye on that – I’ve heard skin cancers that start like that on the lip can be very dangerous. Seriously.

  24. Sumodo1 says:

Judge Marsha Revel has that permanent eyeliner thing going for her, which is nice.

  25. excuse me says:

OMG, who taught this woman (top photo) how to apply makeup? The hairstyle and bangs are too young for a woman of her years and the eye makeup looks just ridiculous. Less is more, sweetheart — less is more.

  26. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Seven!!? The numbers don’t lie, just the affadavits. It’s too bad that the judge became all tangled up like this. I can understand why she did it, in the eyes of many, the Calfornia legal system has no credibility. I got the sense that a message was trying to be sent:

Celebrity justice should be given no quarter, crime should be punished, not encouraged and the law is about helping people, not being vindictive. That aside, the safety of others is a high priority.

I think her intentions were good, and she really didn’t want another feckless judge basically undoing all of her work and resetting the status quo that’s is always tacitly telling us that our lives aren’t worth as much. What the hell kind of justice is that. That’s why I hate that she’s going to be gone and that she got too invested in this, knowing that it wouldn’t end well. This is just going to give that sleaze-slinging family the ammo it needs to decry the whole system, ginger-crack will put on the victim disposition and all of a sudden we’re back to day one, but with added entitlements and a chip on the shoulder about being a ‘freedom fighter’ or whatever mess.

Thanks for the nice comments! We’re all just trying to keep our noss clean–so to speak.

  27. gg says:

@ excuse me – Be not harsh on Revel. Being a cancer survivor and having just gone through chemo myself, I recognize the signs that the Judge has alopecia, possibly from chemo. She has no lashes, the hair is a wig, and you pretty much have to line your eyes in order to look somewhat normal since there is no definition to your eyes when you lose all your lashes and most or all of your brows.

Brows are fairly easy to draw in, but not lashes, since there isn’t a lash line guide to use while lining them, and you always see the lip of the eyelid because of there being no lash line. I don’t know if I’ve explained this properly. When you get cancer and receive chemo, they urge you to take chemo makeup classes to make you feel better about yourself, and there are a LOT more issues involved in drawing on your entire face than you might think – people will look “different” even if they’re good at applying makeup.

The woman can’t help it – she’s trying to look better, and this is very hard to do so when you have lost all your hair on your head and face.

Mine is only just now starting to grow back and it’s a huge relief because my eyes look a lot more natural with eyelashes and eyebrows. Without the liner, you look just like an alien, people stare at you, and even make “yuck” faces at you, and it’s unpleasant to have to go through that. So you do what you can to avoid looking different and every little bit helps.

  28. pl larson says:

um what’s with the “mom voice” comment tho?! Because she’s a female judge she’s a mom?? Never heard a male judge having a “dad voice”.

  29. MissyA says:

    Well put, Mama.
I’m not sure if it’s a generational thing or what, but I’m disgusted with the lack of consideration and accountability nowadays. I understand people have pasts and I understand that people have issues, but frankly, I’m really starting to lose sympathy towards people in a perpetual state of “victimization”. They walk around like we owe them something, and it’s really starting to grate on me.

  30. Cletus says:

    Jo Mama- WORD.

  31. notsoanonymous says:

I think @gg is completely right about the judge’s appearance. Glad you hear that get clarified – go back and look and tell me that isn’t a wig. 🙁 Hope she is getting healthy.

  32. trashaddict says:

And why in heck did the prosector jump in on this? Wouldn’t Revel have been doing them a favor? The sentence seems pretty reasonable in the context of all the shit Lilo’s done. Maybe Revel had a track record for micromanaging and this is just one case in many? Any LA lawyers out there care to comment?

  33. Truthzbetta says:

I’m distracted by duck lips and the lower third of her hair that screams bad wig weave on the twenty something.

Knowing she also flashed her implants in court doesn’t help either. Can she grow nothing on her own?

The hot mess here is in the criminal hot seat where she belongs.

  34. Jazz says:

    @gg – I’m so glad you’re doing better! ((((hugs))))

  35. Jag says:

Wow. I thought the prosecution would be happy that Judge Revel took such a solid stance on Linsay’s actions. Would it be inappropriate to question whether someone were paid off to complain at this point? I wonder what White Oprah has on the prosecutor to get that kind of action happening.

Lindsay’s new judge lets her leave rehab in 3, 2, 1…

  36. gg says:

@ Jazz – Thank you so much! I am now cancer free and very happy about that. hugs back. <3
