Alex Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer & Anna Paquin are naked for Rolling Stone

rs

Here is the best image we’ve got so far of the True Blood cover for the next issue of Rolling Stone. Um… Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard are all naked and covered in blood… and dirt, maybe? Or is it all blood? Couple things: Moyer’s got a cute little bubble butt, doesn’t he? And Sookie’s got no ass to speak of and she’s sucking it in, big time. Oh, and Alex. Um… yeah, why didn’t they just put him on the cover again? I think it would have been a bestseller for the magazine. Did they not think of that?

Since the cover is all we’ve got, how about some more quotes from Alex’s interview with The Telegraph? There’s some good stuff in here. The full piece is here, and here are some highlights:

On the appeal of True Blood: ‘You can sit back and enjoy it, but it’s also really intelligent. It says a lot about society today and about how we relate to each other.’

On his father, actor Stellan, and his family: At 33, he is the oldest of Stellan’s six children from his first marriage: three of his brothers – Gustav, 29, Bill, 20, and Valter, 14, have established acting careers. Sam, 28, has also dabbled in the family business. His sister, Eija, 18, is a model; his mother, My, a doctor. He grew up in Stockholm, on the island of Södermalm. Family life, he says, was ‘pretty chaotic’, the atmosphere ‘very liberal’. His father strolled around naked a lot. Aunts, uncles and grandparents all lived close by. ‘The doors were always open. On any given night, there would be 10 to 15 people around the dinner table. It was very loud, very crazy, there was a lot of food, a lot of alcohol, but it was also very loving. I was very much part of the chaos but I also had my room, and in there, when I was four or five, I would organise my cars and my action figures. I needed some kind of structure, I think, because it was so chaotic in the rest of the apartment.’

On growing up around theatre folk: His father was performing in repertory theatre at the time, and would often be rehearsing one play during the day and performing in another in the evening. ‘He worked a lot,’ Skarsgård says, ‘so I would hang out backstage at the theatre and just play there because it was pretty much the only chance I got to spend time with my dad. A lot of the plays were Ingmar Bergman-directed, but I didn’t care about him. It was more fun to play around in the costume department.’

On his dreams of a career in architecture: He briefly considered becoming an architect – ‘I spent a lot of time drawing buildings, even entire towns’ – but changed his mind. He spent his teenage years ‘not hanging out with his family’, listening to punk with his friends, getting drunk at the weekends and following his local football team, Hammarby, home and away.

His military career: ‘I come from a family of pacifists, so it’s not like I was going to join the war. Sweden is not like the States or England where you might get sent to Afghanistan next month. For me it was just a personal challenge. I’m very happy that I did it. It was tough. I hated it at times; the unit I was in dealt with anti-sabotage, anti-terrorism in the archipelago, so some of the people who applied were total warheads. There were a lot of really cool guys, but the mentality sometimes got a little too testosterone-fuelled for my tastes.’

On leaving New York to go back to Sweden for love: ‘I had met this girl in Sweden three weeks before I went to New York. We had this long-distance relationship. We would speak on the phone once or twice a week. She broke up with me because it wasn’t working out, and I was heart-broken. I thought, I can’t do this, I miss her so much, I’ve got to go home. So I did. I got back and we hung out for a little while, but we were just too young and too different. She was 18 and I was 21. She’s a lovely woman but I didn’t even know her. I spent six months creating her in my mind.’

On playing cold characters: ‘I can definitely relate to them,’ he says. ‘But I’m different in real life. They’re subdued and calm, I’m more playful. I’m pretty intense when it comes to relationships, platonic ones as well. If I feel a connection with someone, I’m willing to go there.’

On being beautiful: ‘I see myself as most people see themselves, you have good days and bad days. I don’t think I’m better looking now than I did three years ago. I’m always looking for something that’s real and that’s got meat on it. I think it’s artistic suicide if you’re too vain, or if you’re afraid to play ugly. I would never fall for that.’

[From The Telegraph]

Sigh… Alex. So… f-cking hot. That’s all I’ve got to say about it. He’s so hot I almost forgot he was boning (operative word: bones) WhatsHerSmugFace.

UPDATE: Okay, Rolling Stone just put out the cover, but the header photo is still a better copy of it. Here’s the link to the RS teaser piece, amd here’s the slideshow, photographs by Matthew Rolston.

    That cover is disgusting.

Big fan of the show, but that cover sucks, and not in the good way.

  2. Celebitchy says:

Ooh thank you Kaiser! Thank you! Also, there was a sex shower scene at the beginning of this week’s TB with Sookie and Bill that was hot and gross at the same time. A lot of blood was involved. They’re really playing up the sex and violence this season and the last episode was incredible.

  3. RHONYC says:

Moyer’s got a cute little bubble butt

    =======================================

    uh…hello?

i think we all knew that from the hot ‘ass’ scene where bill crawled out of the ground and nailed sookie in the graveyard in season 1.

it was dirty…but you could see that bum of his was n-i-c-e! lol 🙂

  4. lena says:

I’m mad at how they got rid of Franklin!

  5. buckley says:

    Seriously Sookie, move that leg!

  6. hatsumomo says:

I guess Im just not ‘getting’ the new season. It sucks balls big time.

I loved season one and season two was a little ridiculous but fun but now it seems they are just trying to cram too much into each episode. I stopped watching a couple of weeks ago when Tara got free and Bill was tied up in the shed and I hadn’t been interested enough to watch any more.

  7. beyondtarts says:

That cover is sick and twisted and awesome, just like the show.

Except Stephen Moyer, he always ruins pictures with his stupid face.

  8. marie says:

    Who would be Sookie?!
    Gosh!

  9. MarlaAnn says:

Not a good cover….looks photoshopped…like Anna and Stephen were put in after the fact and “glued” onto Alex

  10. Sans says:

That cover is horrible. Rolling Stone brings folks down to the sewer with the interviews and covers.
What happened to putting up great artists and them saling themselves.

  11. Janeth says:

Alex is dreamy! LOVE LOVE LOVE What I would do to that sexy man. Yum!

  12. Lala11_7 says:

    The cover…like the show…

    BLOODY HOT!!!

I know a lot of people don’t “get” this season…but I know shows generally “coast” during the third season, so I’m enjoying the WILD RIDE I get every Sunday night thanks to “True Blood”…

  13. annaloo says:

I know I should trash this cover, but I keep scrolling back up to look at it.

    I guess I’m sick!

  14. Katie says:

Alex is always crazy hot. I think Anna Paquin has a killer body and it looks great there. Moyer is better looking when not made up to look like a vampire.

  15. LindyLou says:

The blood looks photoshopped to me. Especially if you look at their faces.

  16. beyondtarts says:

@hatsumomo that’s too bad, you’ve missed some seriously crazy shit in the past couple of episodes.

Then again I hated the first season, I found it so slow and boring. I guess it just depends on what you’re looking for.

  17. Gwen says:

He’s so hot I almost forgot he was boning (operative word: bones) WhatsHerSmugFace.

That is exactly how I feel. Also he is great as Eric. I hope he’ll other good roles when he can show off his acting chops.

  18. Sara says:

Is it just me, or does Alex have a funny expression on his face? I looked at him and started laughing. Maybe it’s because he’s got a crazy little smile and is covered in blood. I think it could have been better, I’ve seen way better pictures of him.

  19. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I must must must have this. That is sooo amazing!!! If I don’t get this magazine I will be hurt. I think they all look sexy and its soo hawt. They all freaking amazing. I love this show and OMG last Sunday’s episode was sooo awesome. Russell’s speech at the end, I felt chills. Chills.

  20. Sara says:

I mean Anna and Stephen look so serious, but Alex is like, hey what’s up! Ok, I can’t stop laughing at that cover.

  21. Eileen says:

Come to me Eric…I will clean you up.

  22. Jeri says:

I think they look HOT and I wasn’t even noticing it was supposed to be blood for a while there.

  23. OC lady says:

When did Rolling Stone turn into Fangoria magazine? It would be hotter without the blood.

Not the cover I want to see–on the first day of my period. 🙂

  24. mr. stinky fishface says:

Her body looks weird, like her boobs are all mashed and her ass has been photoshopped like crazy!

  25. NancyMan says:

    Lucky girl…

  26. Tia C says:

Although they all have young healthy fit bodies, which are pleasing to the eye, that cover IS gross. Love sex, but I’m really not into blood. Yuck. Someone hand them a wipe.

Yeah, I’m with you, hatsumomo. This season IS kinda sucking balls. I found the first season captivating and I agree with you that season two was “ridiculous but fun,” but this season there is way too much gross bloody violence for my tastes. I haven’t stopped watching yet, but my enthusiasm level is definitely WAAAAY down this season. And I was super glad that Franklin got killed off, he was NOT easy on the eyes, to say the least.

  27. Persistent Cat says:

The cover should be Eric, Jason, Lafayette, Jesus and Pam. Pam should be in everything. Oh, and Jessica and Hoyt.

I too am not a fan of this season. If the add one more damn character…… And please Sookie, spare me the girlpower speech, every ten minutes of airtime she has to scream for Bi-yill.

  28. truthSF says:

    RHONYC:

    uh…hello?

i think we all knew that from the hot ‘ass’ scene where bill crawled out of the ground and nailed sookie in the graveyard in season 1.

it was dirty…but you could see that bum of his was n-i-c-e! lol
    ========================================

My all time favorite sex scene of any TB episode and season. damn I wished I was Anna during that scene.

  29. aenflex says:

I actually agree as well about season 3 being a slight let-down. Nothing could top Maryanne and her uncanny ability to turn the people of Bon Temps into raving lunatics. ‘Andy Belfleur’ was sooo funny in last season, and so was Jason Stackhouse. This season started pretty strong w/Bill being kidnapped and whatall, but it’s just not ‘biting’ me the same way the last 2 seasons did. Same for me with last season of Dexter too, though, it sorta sucked…

  30. jamama says:

    Fantastic cover and fantastic show!!!

  31. lena says:

    Tia C…how dare you!!

    I’m a Franklin fan 🙁

but I know he wasn’t a lot of folks cup of tea

  32. emma says:

the front of paquin’s body looks badly photoshoped. it just looks weird

  33. jzhz says:

Wow – you call THAT a bubble butt? Hardly.

Nevertheless, I likes this photo. Gross and perfect for the show.

  34. Mouse says:

I love Anna so I tried to like this show and take it for what it is, but the soft core porn and violence got old quick and wasn’t enough to hold my interest past season one. And this pic doesn’t make me change my mind. Why is there blood and no vampire teeth? Ew.

  35. buell says:

    Is it Sunday yet?

  36. Meg says:

    i LOVE this!
    Its so f***ing SEXY!
I love the blood and love that Stephen Moyer is on the cover. Alex needs to go, I don’t like him.

  37. Sanna says:

LOL, Anna has no ass to speak off?? I guess you’re not watching the show then?? Girl has a big ass!

  38. Kerry Williams says:

Love, Love True Blood…Alexander Skarsgard/ERIC is my favorite character. He’s the hottest actor there is. He was great in Season 1 and 2, but they dumb him down somewhat in Season 3, but mucho love to you Alexander

  39. masonwasp says:

    They’re hot. They’re sexy. They’re undead.

Wow. That copywriter should be shot. I thought the cover was a joke.

  40. Meredith says:

I am sorry for all of you out there that have no love for the show. I have read all the books and I love the show! I am not jealous of the character’s awesome bodies… so I have nothing negative to say… they all look great!!

Sex and Blood… that is generally what vampires are about… going back to Dracula… so I think the cover is great, for those that don’t like… guess you should stop looking at it! =)

  41. Rhiannon says:

I LOVE this cover! Bet the mag has record sales for this specific issue!

Alex looks fabulous as always. The show is awesome! Would have been better without Stephen – so old and ugly! LOL 😛

  42. mercy says:

Anna’s breasts appear to be deflated in the photo. Her real breasts are fuller than this. Her body looks different in this photo. Still a nice photo though. Love the show!

  43. I love the books ,and love the people they have chosen to portray the characters in the story.they are great and real, its an awesome show.

  44. Clare says:

How can anyone have anything bad to say about this. Especially Alex who is just gorgeous!
Its sexy, its bloody and its different which is what the whole show is about!
I love it and even if Annas ass does looke sort of photoshopped so what, shes still gorgeous.
Even if your not that into the whole blood and sex thing…its still a cover you want to look at!
    LOVE IT! 🙂

  45. Erynn says:

I love True Blood, and I love this cover!
Stephen is ridiculously sexy no matter what he does…Hey Anna, would you mind sharing? 🙂

  46. Emily says:

Hey, you, chill the F out!

First of all, youre a complete moron for criticizing bodies on a magazine cover. Secondly, Anna Paquin is beautiful and she has an amazing body! I would be very happy indeed if these are in fact their real bodies, not photoshopped, but that is unlikely.

Bill looks amazing, so sexy, with that look and those eyes! Prrrr

Lastly, this photo is fabulous, and this is why I love True Blood and all the creative minds behind everything! The director/photographer of this photo shoot obviously GETS what True Blood is ALL ABOUT! If you think this photo is “gross” or “trashy”, then i must presume you have no idea what the show is about and are not a watcher! so f off! 😉 <3

  47. Chris says:

They look like they should be on the cover of a Norwegian Death Metal album.

  48. serena says:

    Holy ******!
This cover sure is something! They’re all so sexy, damn, and it’s not gross or anything.
Alex sure has a hot body, I can daydream about him every day.

  49. Hmmm says:

    I’m embarrassed for them.

I look at Stephen Moyer especially and think, you are 40+, don’t you have any dignity????

This is a gross pic and utterly gratuitous. Not provocative, not appealing. But then, they’re selling soft porn. That is what this trio is, a bunch of soft porn stars. And on Rolling Stone???? Whatever happened to music?

Season 1 was good and it’s been going down the self-indulgent, porny road since then. These actors have totally lost their way. I’m just so embarrassed for them.

  50. Camille says:

Now that is one Rolling Stone magazine that I MUST have! Hope it turns up down here, but it will probably cost a small fortune. Love that cover, they all look hot.

I loved that interview with AS, and now I love him even more!

  51. Camille says:

Oh and please people, if you are going to talk about True Blood in your comments, please put *SPOILER* in your comment before talking about stuff from this season, as some of of us are in other countries and are a couple of weeks behind you. 🙁

  52. Snowbird says:

I think the photo is HOT! It would have been even better if Anna was facing the other way and Alex was the one covering her breast instead of Stephen, since alot of people want Sookie with Eric. True Blood is the best show on tv and this season is much better than last year! AB, keep up the good work!

  53. nona says:

That Skarsgard guy is so ugly. You can tell it by the unphotoshopped pics of him. Good body, though.

  54. Sara says:

OMG this cover is so sexy! Love the show and love the actors … expecially Stephen.

  55. Conando says:

This cover is kinda gross & the fake blood looks like chocolate. :-/

  56. Chris says:

The blood spattered look is a bit of a Dexter rip off.

  57. True Blood Lover! says:

Season 1 was great, Season 2 was great, Season 3 is great! This cover is absolutely amazing! And of course I am not going to be a negative nelly because I am a huge fan of True Blood!! Always have and always will be! It’s not just about blood and sex, but about racism, prejudice, dog fights, etc. The actors all do a fantastic job with their parts and I will always support the show!!! AMAZING COVER!!!!!!!!!!

  58. émer says:

It looks like a bloody threesome that went wrong. :/
Not a good artistic cover IMO, even if it does pretend to me.

  59. Persistent Cat says:

Emily, relax. People have different opinions than you, it’s ok.

I hate when people say you must be jealous if you criticize their bodies.

I really dislike this season. It’s not fun. Except Pam and Lafayette.

  60. Hooterbelle says:

Yummy! All that’s missing is a can of Redi-Wip! Sorry, the person who posted that it looked like chocolate got me off the track… Bloody naked vampires on Rolling Stone? Awesome cover!

  61. Emily says:

@persistent: I don’t recall if I said anything about you must be jealous? Yep I’m sure I didn’t. I just think it’s sad when you take a gorgeous woman and break her down just because she’s on a magazine and not sculpted from clay. Also she’s Anna paquin: one of my personal heroines so I’m even more defensive. Anyway I can’t calm down… I’m obsessed with true blood :O things get pretty heated

  62. Chicoulina says:

I also think the blood is photoshopped on them!

  63. Kiana says:

True Blood is an awesome show that is for ADULTS. So it would be expected that it would spawn ADULT magazine covers. I mean people act like they don’t have boobs or asses or something. Last time I remembered as a human we all look alike. Some parts may be big or little on different people but it’s all the same. An ass is an ass whether it be Alex’s ass or your neighbor’s ass (preferably I wanna see Alex’s ass because I don’t know what your neighbor’s looks like but that’s not the point hereXD )

What I’m trying to say is we are all adults and while we all have VERY different opinions we are not those damn jonas brother dudes. We know what sex is and we know that it sells. And for a show like true blood it sells alot. But True Blood isn’t just a one trick pony. It does shed light to other issues. So naked bloody threesome rolling stone cover or not True Blood is a wonderful well scripted show. So go put that in your pipe and smoke it people. Can’t we just say yes to our inner sexual deviants and just oogle the cover and fantasize or something instead of getting all up in arms? SEX is good. There has to be a reason why every organism on this planet does it. Just sayin 😀

  64. bloobloo says:

I read the books nad just saw saeson 1 on DVD…I like Anna Paquin but she is just NOT Sooki to me…Sooki is less intense and more fun and visually should be one of those effortlessly slightly sexy girls…Anna just looks like an average girl who works out all the time. Just my thoughts…

  65. Shy says:

And they will put this cover for sold to the shops where 5-10 years old will see it?

I love the show but that cover is disgusting.

  66. True Blood Lover! says:

What exactly would it hurt for young people to see this? What are they exposing? Nothing!!! The human body is a beautiful thing. I have seen a Rolling Stone cover show more than what this is showing. Please ppl get off your moral high horses!

  67. RHONYC says:

    @ Emily

my boyfriend still can’t believe that anna pacquin is ‘packin’ such a bangin bod. contrary to kaiser…she’s got a booty that rival’s britney’s and killer abs. also love that she didn’t sell out to dr. 90210 and cap her teeth.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    @truthSF

    word. up.

    super hottest scene. ever.

say…there’s a cemetery just a few blocks from my house…

    *devil horns*

    🙂

  68. Hooterbelle says:

    Rolling Stone Presents:
    TrueBlood: The Jackson Pollock Cover

  69. Tia C says:

@ lena: OK, I’ll admit that was a cheap shot at Franklin, LOL. Sometimes I can’t resist. The actor was excellent who played him. He was just messin with my girl Tara so he had to go! 😉

  70. Mingo says:

    Boring.

  71. Patrice says:

I too was trying to figure out what the crap was going on with her body. Where have all the good graphic designers gone. Her body looks f’ed up.

  72. beyondtarts says:

“Not a good artistic cover IMO, even if it does pretend to me. ”

You think they’re trying to pretend to be artistic? You joking? It’s sex and blood straight up and they know it and everyone else knows it.

  73. T'lee says:

I sooo want that cover. I love True Blood and i never thought I’d be envious of Anna but now i am. lol

  74. Phantom Goddess says:

    @ Hmmmm

Some of us LOVE the softcore porn in the show. I say, bring it on!!

  75. Shy says:

    True Blood Lover!:
What exactly would it hurt for young people to see this? What are they exposing? Nothing!!! The human body is a beautiful thing. I have seen a Rolling Stone cover show more than what this is showing. Please ppl get off your moral high horses!
    ****************

…And then they show “Pregnant at 16” on MTV 🙂 There is nothing wrong with human body. But there we have it. Those idiots are having children at age of 16. But i’m sure they all have high morals 🙂

I love the show and watch it every week. But still that cover is over the top. They should have placed that picture inside and put some other on the cover.

When 7 years old kids will past this magazine in some store i’m sure they will ask: “Mommy, why are these people naked? Someone beat them? Why are they in blood? Are the dying? And why are they holding that girl? Is she hurt” 🙂

  76. moocowhead says:

    Oh Alex………
    ………..*wipes drool from face*

  77. Persistent Cat says:

I think Rolling Stone could’ve been a little more original. It’s like they found out at the last second, “Oh, a True Blood cover, ok. What? In five minutes? I haven’t prepared, I’ve had no time! Now, really? Alright, throw some blood on them like in last night’s episode… and the episode before that… and before that…. Look, I got nothing.”

  78. Persistent Cat says:

    @ Emily,

You didn’t, it was someone else.

  79. Mrs. Darcy says:

I like it! Yes it’s obvious and photoshopped (uh what’s up with Paquin’s ass, there’s a weird indent where bum meets leg that doesn’t look natural), but plenty of people tune in for the sex – am sure Rolling Stone just wanted to sell as many copies as possible. Bill’s bum is unrivaled, heck even in his old fashioned trousers that thing is taut!

  80. bellaluna says:

My Gawd, what I wouldn’t give to be the girlie meat in that manwich! *sigh…*

  81. Lisa S says:

In the books, the Sookie character is about a size 10. But being naked on TV all the time would get me to work out 7 days a week. Anna has an amazing body and a fantastic booty! Whoever says different is ignorant of the facts and does not watch the show.

  82. DeE says:

NOPE……..epic fail and as those who Love the cover are entitled to their opinion, as am I. Despite the show, this cover should have a “cover” to protect the minds of young eyes. Society does have a moral obligation, that it has failed, to not intentionally do most of what it does….and please don’t go asking what does the world do? Yes freedom of expression/speech/religion etc. but still, morally, don’t blast this and other “grown” matters at immature minds still forming. Confusing our babies, and when momma or pappa says NO, but this “grown up” stuff is screaming yes every which way, how difficult is it to instill right from wrong and give direction?

  83. Vflier69 says:

I think the show is great, groundbreaking for a series, and Anna Pacquin body is smoking especially those great thighs and butt.
