Elin & Tiger Woods’ divorce is finalized, Ho-Jo’s waitresses on high alert

It feels like the divorce proceedings have been going on forever, but I guess it just took about eight months to finalize this bad boy. According to Elin and Tiger, their divorce is now finalized, and they can legally act like single people again – Tiger already started, about five years ago. Here’s the public statement, on Tiger’s website (via Us Weekly):

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

[From Us Weekly]

Allegedly, the whole deal entails joint custody of their children, and a $100 million cash-and-property settlement for Elin. It’s also thought to include a non-disclosure agreement, which means that Elin would not be able to give interviews bashing Tiger, not that she would anyway – it doesn’t seem to be her personality. Lin will likely move back to Sweden full-time, with the kids, and Tiger probably won’t have extensive access to the kids, at least that’s what it looks like from where I sit. I also don’t think that Tiger was fighting for increased access to the kids, for what it’s worth.

So… the long battle is over, and now every hooker, Ho-Jo’s waitress and party planner is on CODE RED HIGH ALERT: Tiger is on the prowl, and he’s finally single!

The two married in October 2004 and Nordegren gave birth to a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, in June 2007. A son, Charlie Axel Woods, was born on February 8, 2009. The couple has recently found themselves embroiled in some scandal after Tiger crashed his vehicle into a tree and fire hydrant during an alleged quarrel with Elin. It is being theorized that the fight was due to some extramarital activities that Mr. Woods had been partaking in. Fame Pictures, Inc

Who knows how interested he’ll actually be now that it’s not “forbidden” anymore.
    Scumbag.

  2. TQB says:

You know, I have to say that regardless of the fact that the guy is a total sleezebag, I’m not pleased to hear that he basically just stood back and let her take the kids to Sweden. I’m sure he was advised to do so and felt pressure to do so because of his behavior. Male whore or not, he’s still these kids father and they don’t deserve to be whisked off to Europe and only see their father once or twice a year.

  3. Team Bethenny says:

“I also don’t think that Tiger was fighting for increased access to the kids…”

Kids are a cock-block. They’ll cramp his style.

  4. hellen says:

The end of a very ugly chapter. Hope everyone (including us) can move on from this now.

  5. Rita says:

I’m 100% pro Elin in this mess but my comment is about Tiger. I’m glad he’s lost his golf game (I mean he sucks like an average PGA guy now). However, I think that is a good thing. If he’d continued winning at his usual clip, it would have meant that he is more machine than man. He’s lost the very thing he loves most because he did not love the things he should have loved most. He has the off season to find himself as the man he wants to be and once he does that, his game “might” return. For his sake, I hope he works to be a man of good character but I really don’t care if he ever wins again.

  6. Elm says:

How do Swedish women get divorce settlements worth $330million?
The BP chairman’s wife got the same amount last year.

Maybe they all use the same lawyer.

The Woods have been married such a short time – I never even heard of her until TW married her! She would never earn that much in a lifetime of modelling!

If there was real love between this couple – would he ever have strayed?
Did these selfish people even consider the effect on their children?

    Yuk

  7. Moreaces says:

    LOL, my chest hurts

  8. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Yea thats just crazy about his golf game. Tiger was the best, the very best. Tiger was high on the hog for years, and then he threw it away for some of the skankiest piece of ass he could find and I mean he went as low rent as he could go. This has really affected his golf game. I am happy for Elin because I wouldn’t have had the poise and restraint she had if he had been my husband.

  9. bellaluna says:

    What a fool he is.

  10. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

Oh please! He isn’t that broken up over the kids going to Sweden. As another poster put it, they are a cock block. He is now free to spend his free time how he always wanted to, whoring. Frankly, why should anyone convinience him, by staying in an area that is a constant reminder of the terrible marriage they had. Yes, he is the father, but he was the one who ruined his marriage, and Elin shouldn’t have to be without her family or friends. He set the wheels in motion for the events that changed his and his childrens lives. Now he sees the ramifications of those choices.

  11. gretchen says:

@elm…your bias is showing LOL….selfish ‘person’ not people…you’re forgetting ‘she’ didn’t do anything wrong

  12. lucy2 says:

Sadly I have to agree – if he were so interested in spending time with his kids, he wouldn’t have spent every spare minute skanking around.
He sure threw it all away, didn’t he? I really doubt he learned anything from all this other than to not violate a pre-nup. I do hope they all are able to move on and make the best of things now though.

  13. Jaded says:

Before this blew up he hardly spent any time with the kids, he was either golfing or f*cking. Now that he’s divorced and has apparently lost his golf mojo, he’s going to be concentrating on getting it back, and will no doubt return to his slithering club-crawling skank-quests. Kids won’t really factor into this lifestyle.

  14. BethL says:

I laughed outloud about the waitresses on high alert. Not a hardcore fan but I follow golf enough to know that Tiger has had 3 or 4 bad years on tour. He hasn’t been perfect. I think it’s too quick to say his career is over because of one year.

  15. Rita says:

The golf tour runs through the summer. When things settle down, I think Elin and the kids will spend the winters in Florida. Any gal who is sharp enough to walk away from a five year marriage with $100 mil aint going to spend the winter in Sweden.

  16. Alex says:

maybe now with all that craziness behind them, they both can move on and he can start playing good golf again and just because you are a douchebag don’t mean that you are not a good father. I am sure that he was fighting for more access to see his kids. People shouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusion about what went on behind close doors. Good luck to both of them and hopefully they can be great co-parents for their kids and MAYBE the public will start minding their own business now instead of Tiger and Elin’s

  17. Alex says:

gosh bunch of judgmental people on here.

  18. Embee says:

I’m struck by the visible difference in maturity between these two. In most of the photos he looks like a petulant child whilst she looks like a lovely lady. It’s like he never believed he was a grown-up (or didn’t want to be). I’ve seen this in some of my friends and it is always so startling to me when the Peter Pans refuse to grow up despite having children of their own.

My best to Elin. She has a long, hard road. Even all that money won’t make being a single mom easy. You cannot buy the loving attention children require to flourish, and so she’ll be doign the job of two parents with her heart.

  19. DetRiotgirl says:

Wow. He didn’t even fight for equal custody? What a slime bag. If you can’t be a good husband and keep it in your pants, at least try to be a good father and get 50% of this commitment thing right! Ugh, he disgusts me.

I can almost get my mind around the cheating. I don’t in any way condone it, but I can see how being rich, famous and traveling all the time could lead to a lapse in judgement and morals. I mean, in Tiger’s case it was about 900 lapses in judgement… But, abandoning his children? There is never any excuse for that. He’s just a heartless, selfish human being if he doesn’t care enough to try to see his kids more than twice a year.

I’m glad Elin made a ridiculous amount of money off of this mess! She seems very classy, composed and about 500,000 times too good for him. I wish her and the children all the best with their new lives in Sweden!

  20. canadianchick says:

Hilarious headline. They can move on now. I’m sure we’ll be reading about these kids 10-15 years from now, as who wouldn’t act out with that kind of Tiger legacy.

  21. mln says:

I am really respecting that she is taking the kids out of the spotlight and back to Sweden. Tiger has a private jet and can see them anytime he wants I am sure anyway I doubt that between his golfing and his philandering he saw them alot while they were still “happy”

  22. RobN says:

I doubt that she’s heading back to Sweden for anything other than visits. Personal income tax in Sweden is about 65%; there’s no personal income tax in Florida. She heads back there fulltime and they’re going to want their share of everything Tiger just signed away. She’s not that stupid.

  23. AR says:

@TQB If he doesn’t seem to be too concerned about it, why should you? Do you seriously think if he didn’t want his kids in Sweden, they would be? I am sure everything that is happening is what they BOTH agreed on. So, again: If he isn’t too concerned about his children living so far away from him, why are you?

  24. Iggles says:

He’s an idiot. He had adorable kids and a wife who loved them. He traded his family for cheap sex and an ego boost. He’s a classic fool.

  25. Jeri says:

I’m happy for Elin. She can move on now.

  26. Kiska says:

Wow. Look at the body language in the top pic!

  27. Kloops says:

I don’t think Elin will move to Sweden full time. She has an amazing life in Florida and she’s not going to give that up and take her kids from their country of origin. I’m sure she’ll spend a lot time visiting Sweden, but it won’t be home base.

  28. nanster says:

    Team Elin – 100%
Tiger’s an idiot and some day he’ll look back on this and wonder why he threw his life away.

  29. Jaxx says:

Just goes to show you can be one of the most beautiful women in the world, with a world class body and it doesn’t shield you from a cheating husband.

I used to admire Tiger so much but now I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire. He will never gain back the respect of his peers. Never.

  30. Emily says:

Slightly off topic, but I don’t think he’s going to age well, at all. In that top photo, you can see what he’ll look like, and it’s not pretty. That’s if he doesn’t die of STDs in the next decade…

  31. Raven says:

I’ll bet she gets a place in the US as well. She liked it well enough to move here in the first place.

After a lot of posturing for the press, he got down to business on the divorce, asking for what he really wanted. It probably wasn’t more access to the kids, which would cut into his party time. He was raised as the center of attention and has been that for years. I don’t think he knows how to care and share. Probably the nondisclosure issue was paramount to him along with the $$.

  32. coup de grazia says:

i think he is deeply, deeply disturbed and will continue to F up his life.

  33. cc says:

does anyone have Elin’s email address?

  34. TQB says:

@AR – I don’t care out of sympathy for HIM, that’s for darn sure! I care because it seems like in all these big divorces the man gets pushed into a position where he doesn’t fight for the kids, and you know who that winds up hurting? THE KIDS.

He may suck but he’s the only father they’ve got.

  35. Tiffany says:

I know it would not seem Elin style to do an post divorce interview. But if she did, I would take to night off work, get my popcorn and flop my backside on my couch to hear what she has to say. Look, we had to watch every woman who fooled around with Tiget get attention, I think I will sacrifice and watch another.
