Amy Winehouse can’t work on music anymore

Amy Winehouse’s life has spun so completely out of control that she’s no longer able to work on her music anymore. At least if you ask her longtime producer and friend Mark Ronson. He worked on her Grammy-winning album “Back to Black,” and the pair had been in the studio off and on for the last month or so, trying to record the theme to the upcoming James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. However Mark had to scrap the plans, saying that Amy isn’t able to record music anymore.

Mark, 32, said: “We did work on it but we never finished it. I don’t think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings on it. I’m not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet.” The pair began collaborating on the track at Mark’s studio in Henley, Oxfordshire, last month but their sessions soon deteriorated.

Amy is upset that Mark, a key figure in her career who masterminded her second album Back To Black, has spoken publicly about their problems. And pals fear the rift will have long-term consequences for the troubled 24-year-old. One said: “Mark has always had a really good influence on Amy. He brought out the best in her and cared for her on a personal level.

“On a professional level he seems to be the only person who can get her into the studio. Without him encouraging her we’re worried.”

Amy’s spokesman said: “Mark presented a track to Amy, but she had other ideas about the direction it should take. We’re sure they will continue to make great music together.”

Everything else in Amy’s life has fallen apart. Until this most recent development, the only thing you could say Amy had going for herself was that at least she still had her music. Now that that’s no longer true… how much further does she have to fall before she officially reaches “rock bottom?” I’m not sure what’s left to get her to that point, except for more of the same.

When you list the things that normally bring a person to some sort of realization that things need to change, you normally think of things like overdoses, hospitalizations, fights, arrests, losing connections with family – all things Amy has gone through multiple times. Aside from the very worst, what else is left to happen here?

It’s such a pity talented stars like Amy W. have so many personal problems and addictions which take away from her talent. I hope and pray she gets the help she needs to continue living a healthy, and sober life. I sometimes wonder, what makes someone so talented, want to throw her life away ?

Is it me or does she look more like Keith Richards every day? I’m not sorry or surprised here. Doing so much drugs and all the other crap is purely her fault and for someone who surely has the money and the support from fans and family to go to rehab, I think she is making more than poor choices.

    24 and looks like she’s 40. Damn.

I dont know if theres gonna be a happy ending here…..she might be just too far gone. What a waste.

Wonder why Ronson went public with this? He sounds exasperated. Perhaps he decided to give Amy a short sharp shock! Up until now the only respect she had left was her music, and the illusion that she is still writing. If the public knows that she is too drug addled to exercise her talent, perhaps that will be her rock bottom. Poor Amy, what’s going to happen when her husband gets out of prison? A double suicide?? 🙁

  6. Anni says:

sad to say…not everyone hits rock bottom and gets better. some people just don´t. they keep falling till they die.

  7. Crux says:

Poor Winehouse, the drug fairies have taken over her mind and became her Life Coaches. 😯

  8. Draya says:

She looks like she eats rocks for breakfast. Not, like, crack rocks but rock rocks!

  9. geronimo says:

xiaoecho, I agree. Although the word today from Amy’s camp is that it was down to artistic differences, she was unhappy with the track and that’s why it’s ground to a halt. I’d like to believe this but….

Amy has continued to get public support from some of the most respected musicians around, Ronson included. She’s also still being nominated for all the respected industry awards (Ivor Novello, NME etc) and, in her drug-addled state, is possibly seeing this as some sort of endorsement of her lifestyle, not just her talent. That Ronson is speaking out definitely sends up a red flag. As you say, maybe that’s exactly what she needs – a sharp reality check from people she really respects.

In order for rehab to stick she needs to hit rock bottom. If this causes her to pass away, then that would be sad. But she needs to want to get it together, doesn’t seem like she cares to enough though. If Ronson can’t work with her then nobody really can.

Bleck, she’d best stop now, else she suck more innocent souls into the winehouse vortex: http://www.236.com/news/2008/05/02/the_winehouse_vortex_6255.php

I don’t really care for Amy or her music (I had a little respect for it before I found out who she was though) but damn, I wish I had her hair! I can’t believe how beautiful and thick it is for a druggie

  13. sarah says:

Jewish chicks have the best hair! Extensions or not- have you ever seen spears, richie, hilton, lohan or simpson without a weave that looks like a sweaty maltese?

  14. Blanche says:

Robert Downey Jr., emerged from the ashes and so will Amy.
    Team Wino!!!!!

  15. xiaoecho says:

sorry to burst your bubble KattyBitch and sarah but it’s a weave. The ‘beehive’ is a hairpiece. Remember the short blond do of a few months back? It turned into luscious long black locks overnight while she was in rehab before the grammys. It does mimic her natural hair though :-)…………erm, after just seeing the pics of her in the daily mail, not sure if I take that back – perhaps its a wig?

geronimo…..you’re right, this is something new. Amy and Mark Ronson are practically joined at the hip artistically…..I don’t believe the artistic differences crap either

  16. gg says:

The whole back of her hair is a wig. And it might be a wig with a fall attached to it as well. She pins the whole thing on and where the pins are, it’s now bald.

You always eventually have baldness if you pin or glue something heavy, even extensions, on your hair. It’s called tension alopecia.

I’d like to know why she’s RE-bleaching the same chunk of redyed hair, in public, outdoors, at a bbq or whatever it was? Weird. Also? That chunk she just rebleached – it’s probably melted from overprocessing after she took the foil off. You’d think the woman picked up something after ruining her hair twice in the last few months already. Here’s number three …
She is a smelly steaming mess.

  17. Kenny Da Page says:

Bottom line, physically, mentally and career-wise, Winehouse is a mess. She’s going to have to come to the conclusion, drugs are causing all of her woes.

Winehouse reminds me of an episode of “Seinfeld”, where Jerry says he’s like ‘Even Steven’. Whenever something bad happens, something good comes out of it. Personally, I think Winehouse sold her soul to the Devil.
