Chad Lowe married his longtime girlfriend, producer Kim Painter, in Los Angeles over the weekend. The couple’s 15 month old daughter, Mabel, was their ring bearer. It is the second marriage for Lowe, 42, who was married to actress Hilary Swank for nine years until their divorce in 2006. Lowe has been acting steadily on television, most recently with a recurring role on ABC Family hit Pretty Little Liars. Here’s more on his wedding:
It was a pretty little wedding for Pretty Little Liars actor Chad Lowe and his longtime girlfriend.
Lowe, 42, and film producer Kim Painter, were married Saturday in front of family and a small group of friends in an oceanside ceremony at Terranea Resort in Los Angeles.
Chad’s brother Rob Lowe was best man. The couple’s 15-month old daughter Mabel served as ring bearer.
Lowe and Painter began dating in January 2007. They welcomed Mabel in May 2009 – the first girl born into the Lowe family in nearly four generations.

I will admit that I’ve seen most of season one of Pretty Little Liars. It’s really cheesy and over the top and is like I Know What You Did Last Summer with texting and more unbelievable plot twists, but I enjoy how trashy it is. Lowe is a very good actor, and there’s something quietly sad about him. It’s like his talents are wasted on that show, but at least he’s getting steady work.
I remember well how Swank threw Lowe under the bus with that tell-all Vanity Fair interview after their divorce four years ago. She claimed he was a drug addict and that it put a rift in their marriage, but that he was sober at that point. It was mean and she should have kept it to herself, but a lot of people wondered if that story was a smokescreen for some other issues they didn’t want to get out. Whatever happened back then, it seems like Chad is doing much better now and is hanging in there. I wonder if his career took a big hit from Hilary’s interview. He didn’t get much work after that and kind of stuck to television, but it’s not like he was known for his work in film, either.
Congratulations to Lowe and Painter! Their wedding sounds lovely and it’s nice that their daughter was a little older and could participate. You can see how happy they look in photos and I bet they’re overjoyed.

hilary ‘skank’ really did a number on him throwing him under the bus after their break-up. she didn’t have to put his addiction trouble on front street, especially if he was in treatment after the fact.

He is aging really well, glad he has found happiness. I doubt anyone thinks badly about him after Swank’s stooping to trash talking about him to boost her own tainted rep. She just came off seeming even less likeable, you reap what you sow.
That interview with Swank made me hate her. It was incredibly self-serving and I really think the only purpose of it was to hide the fact that she was screwing around with the married guy she’s still dating. Bottom line, it was a total b*tch move.

Lucky her, she finally got knocked up and married. About time…she’s been passed around Hollywood’s block long enough. Too bad Chad is too sweet to care about her motives.
It must also really suck for Chad to have lived in his muchhhhh HOTTER brother’s shadow, then in Hilary’s shadow, NOW a gold-digger for a wife! Poor guy can’t ever seem to catch a break.
I don’t know why, but he always gave me the creeps. *shiver*

When Swank talked so much sh*t about him, I really lost anything I had for her. Everyone has problems, and his weren’t that awful. I’m glad for him and his new wife, although she does have a corn tooth she should think about fixing.
PS I think he’s cuter than Rob. Rob is a dick, for real, a weird dick.

They look so happy together, good for them. Chad seems like a sweet guy, its nice to see he is finally happy.
I read somewhere that Lowe’s family hates this woman b/c she apparently has a history of dating and trying to “land” celebrity boyfriends and that they think she got knocked up on purpose to trap him. Can’t remember where I read it though.
I have always found him creepy too (and that L&O:SVU ep didn’t help!) but Hillary Skank definitely did him wrong.

I remember when Hillary did her Oscar speech. I was shocked when she did not mention his name as the cameras kept going to his face in the audience with tears streaming down his face. HOW could you forget to say your husband’s name?? Unforgiveable.
I also thought at the time that those tears of his looked very fake. Who knows. I wish him well.
Hilary Swank strikes me as being pompous, self righteous and self serving. I never liked her and her sneaky attack on Chad Lowe certainly didn’t make me like her any better. It was obviously more important to her to be seen as the so called victim in their separation than it was to treat this person she had supposedly loved with decency and respect.
