Natalie Portman & Vincent Cassel at ‘The Black Swan’ premiere: so, so pretty

black_swan_020_wenn5535009

Would you do a threesome with Vincent Cassel and Natalie Portman? I’m not holding you to your answer. It’s just a question I like to pose when I see two people – that I find impossibly beautiful – standing next to each other. In case you couldn’t tell, I’m in love with both Natalie Portman and Vincent Cassel at the moment. These are photos from yesterday’s Venice Film Festival premiere of The Black Swan. Now, Natalie is not even my type of girl, generally speaking, but she’s making me kind of hot in this fabulous red dress. More jewel tones, bitches! That’s the way to my heart. The cold, dark, dank heart is only warmed by the complimentary beauty of a good jewel tone, and my goodness, look at this ruby red! She looks absolutely gorgeous.

But on to my lover Vincent Cassel. I would only do Natalie to get to Vincent. Look at him in his beautiful suit. I would wax rhapsodically about European men and their ability to wear lovely suits like a second skin, but I’ll just stop. Because ideally, Vincent would be wearing next to nothing. Nothing but a smile and maybe a cowboy hat (it’s a recent thing, don’t judge). Sigh.

I’m impressed by how much press Vincent has been getting for The Black Swan, by the way. He’s heavily featured in the trailer, and he seems to be fully committed to the promotion of this thing. Vincent isn’t really a household name in America at this point, which is a shame. He’s one of the great French actors working today, and he’s made his way into a handful of English-language films. He should get more respect and more glory – and I wonder if The Black Swan will be the breaking point – perhaps even some awards, for Best Supporting Actor, maybe? Is that too much of a dream?

Speaking of eerie dreams, Gawker has a summary of some of the early reviews – looks like it might be a winner…? Maybe. Possibly. Here are some assorted photos from the Venice premiere and from the photo call, and I also threw in some photos of Natalie’s hot boyfriend, the ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied:

dont like the dress.. and he looks always so creepy

  2. frenchie says:

Vincent Cassel sure doesn’t look his best on picture but you should see him in motion, acting : he has such a great charisma. He is a great actor, people will keep talking about decades from now.

  3. DetRiotgirl says:

I don’t know…I’m not sold on that dress. I don’t think the cut is doing her any favors. It almost looks like it doesn’t quite fit. But, I do like the color. I agree with Kaiser on one thing, more jewel tones!

  4. YOYO99 says:

    Is that her dad ??

  5. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I don’t like threesomes. I am pretty possessive so another chick with me and my man is a hell to the no. However they look fantastic. They brought the glam. Vincent really looks effing in good in that suit. I love he is doing the skinny tie. He looks really good.

I think Nat’s dress should have been floor length with a train. I don’t like how it stops like that above the shoes but other than that I really like it.

  6. mln says:

Vincent Cassel is such a good actor but he has played some f-ed up mothers I think I am to traumatized to find him sexy.

  7. fizXgirl314 says:

Are celebrities instructed to look lovingly at one another when at a premiere? I swear, everyone’s got at least one of the same shot…

  8. margie says:

where is mila kunis in all this? If this is her endeavor to make herself known as a serious, dramatic actress, where is she? I would think she would take advantage of this opportunity.

  9. xxodettexx says:

i dont like the cut of the dress… maybe the skirt and definitely a hot color, but that bodice is just awkward to me…

    cassel… le sigh…

  10. si says:

    where is mila??

  11. annaloo says:

Ummm.. I am not seeing this…

  12. Lady Jane says:

She is very pretty but I don’t love the dress either. So fussy. But we all have to love everything she does because she went to Harvard. I think she cheated with Sean Penn, so I kind of have to dislike her.

  13. SolitaryAngel says:

Natalie has never looked more beautiful to me! That dress is gorgeous! And sorry Kaiser, but I have NO idea why you think this man is sexy—he gives me a creepy vibe. Oh well, more of him for you, right? 😉

  14. The Hamm is My Dream Man says:

All I’m seeing is Millepied bulge in that first pic of him and I am NOT complaining.

  15. Heaven-bound says:

the color of the dress is beautiful, unfortunately the dress it self is not. I agree that man is fug and creepy looking. I think Mila is much more beautiful then la Portman.

  16. Melissa says:

If he’s a good-looking Frenchman, then the French are worse off than the British.

Going to duck and cover now…

  17. lea says:

Vincent Cassel is a great actor and sexy. He’s married to the beautiful Monica Bellucci.

Natalie Portman looks so pretty here. It’s a dramatic red gown and that’s perfect for this dramatic film.

  18. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

    The dress is fug.

  19. Kitten says:

    Where is Miiiiiiiiila???
    She’s my fave.
Cassell is not sexy to me and I’m French. He’s a fantastic actor though. I think Natalie Portman has a weird smile..it’s part grimace/part smile. Grile? Smimace?

  20. suz says:

Vincent Cassel is such a great actor, and I’d go see this just for him. Also, there have been some great photoshoots done with him and Monica Belucci and they are just so damn pretty. Also, yes! look at the way he wears that suit! Gorgeous.

  21. TruTru says:

I can’t wait to see this movie!!!

  22. lila says:

Her dress is breathtaking. I love the flow of the skirt. Emilio Sosa made a similar green one on project runway-I think they both capture that graceful look.

  23. original kate says:

i don’t get the lure of vincent cassel – his face looks like a frying pan to me.

  24. Jazmin says:

Natalie’s dress is so tacky, sorry. Dancing with the stars anyone?

I can’t stand this chick either. Someone mentioned her smile. Yes, it is sooo fake. At times it looks like a mocking leer, other times, like she’s about to cry. Her eyes NEVER match her smile; & her voice is so blahhh & annoying, just like Jessica Alba’s.(They speak like 12 year olds).

Vincent Cassel is impressive live & in motion, like someone mentioned. He exudes confidence, charm & sexiness, so much as to make you forget how weird looking he is, especially his eyes. Killer body to match & wickedly naughty.

  25. Praise St. Angie! says:

used to like her, but until she recants her support of Pedophile Polanski, she’ll now always be ugly to me.

and I may be wrong on this, but didn’t she “homewreck” to snag her current bf? can’t remember the details of their hook-up…

  26. Ron says:

Love the dress! She looks like a movie star. I love experimental fashion, but not on the red carpet. She looks elegant and for a younger actress these days that’s an accomplishment. Think Elizabeth Taylor. Seems most young actresses want to look like hookers.

  27. Chicoulina says:

I think he’s ugly,I can’t stand looking at him.She is beautiful but I think has become very arrogant.I hate her dress. It looks like the one Kate Gosselin wore the night of the Emmy’s in the starting video.I prefer Jessica Alba’s beautiful dress to this!

  28. Solveig says:

Is it a coincidence or Pixar made “Ratatouille”‘s Alfredo Linguini similar to Vincent Cassel on purpose?
Oh, I’m glad you posted the pictures of Natalie’s beautiful dress, it is one of the best dresses I’ve seen on a red carpet so far. And she looks amazing and less contrived than her usual.

  29. OC lady says:

I think she looks really pretty here. The color of that dress goes well with her coloring.

I can’t wait to see The Black Swan. It looks really good and I lover her as an actress.

  30. normade says:

If the hem line was shorter she could figure skate in that dress.
Go see Mesrine, awesome movie and Cassel is awesome in it.
Not a Portman fan (she seems so uppity) so I hope she doesn’t win an oscar for this (movie does look cool tho)

  31. Ruffian9 says:

I’m ‘meh’ on the dress but, as usual, find her to be breathtakingly lovely. Such a classic face.

  32. Liana says:

it’s part grimace/part smile. Grile? Smimace?

I’m glad I’m not the only person who combines two words to make a new one!

And yeah, I recall Benjamin living with another woman when he hooked up with Natalie. That would make him quite the dog, wouldn’t it?

  33. Holly says:

Is it just me or do her arms look supremely short in those shots?

  34. Michael S. says:

she does nave strange teeth. And Mila is 100x more gorgeous than Nat.
