Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull premiere photos

Cate Blanchett attended the Australian premiere of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wearing a gold lame wrap dress with too much fabric gathered with a plain black belt. It was an astonishingly bad look for Cate, who often takes fashion risks but pulls it off. She topped off the look with a pair of chunky black t-strap shoes that would have been at home on Gwyneth Paltrow’s feet.

Blanchett didn’t look as bad as Ashanti, who attended the NY premiere which was hosted by BET’s show 106 and Park. Ashanti wore a dress with peacock sequin detail around the the neck and thick blue eyeshadow under her eyes as if she was about to play football. It got us to publish her photo, so her makeup strategy worked.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is out in the US tomorrow, May 22. Initial reviews are mixed and praise the excellent fast-paced action but say that the dialog and plot are lacking.

Also shown at the NY premiere are Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Shia LaBeouf and Karen Allen. I love Calista’s simple pale pink dress. Thanks to WENN and PRPhotos.

How on earth did Cate Blanchett manage to find a dress that makes her look almost….. hefty? 😮

Cate, I love you – but leave the tinfoil alone!

  2. Christine says:

You’re right the dress is hideous but the hair and makeup flawless!

  3. headache says:

Karen Allen is still so cute. I love her.

  4. Diva says:

I think Cate Blanchett sometimes dresses for no other reason than to make people talk, lol.

Not lovin’ it at all 😆

  5. headache says:

Cate can get better dress. But alot of actresses who strut the carpet can’t undo what they’ve done to her face.

Cate is gorgeous and her make up and hair is always perfection.

  6. Meredith says:

    I just love Karen Allen!

  7. CJ says:

Didn’t Cate just have a baby?

I think she deserves a pass on this one!

  8. Bodhi says:

Yeah, she did JUST have a baby. I can imagine her wanting to be comfortable rather than stylish. I mean, she might have been able to come up with something comforatble & more fashionable, but she does have an infant, 2 otehr boys & a husband to deal with…

Oh I can forgive her any number of bad dresses when she looks this good, neck up. Awesomely beautiful. Always looks like she’s lit from the inside.

That’s carnival makeup right there on Ashanti. S’funny tho, I don’t see a troupe. 😯
Don’t like Cate’s dress but it doesn’t really matter. She’s Cate. Love her.

The outfit is awful but how come she is still so beautiful?

I will definitely go to the Indiana Jones movie. Even it’s trash (99% of possibility), I don’t care.

  12. Meow! says:

She just had a baby! And still loooks fabulous! 😆

Oh my, but isn’t that Ms. Blanchett at the “Attack of the Jiffy Pop MoMster premiere? How lovely. Yes, she stole Gweny’s shoes. Clunck, clunk, clunk!

  14. Lili says:

Lord Almighty, I juts saw that picture of Ashanti..I’m speechless. She looks like her 2 year old sibling went ape-crazy with the crayola jumbo markers.

  15. K says:

The dress does not look good on her, but her face looks pretty.

Speaking of Karen Allen, I wrote an unsolicited script for a Starman sequel back in 1998. It was my first script and I quit college to finish it. It’s been gathering dust ever since. I sent it to Jeff Bridges and John carpenter, although I would prefer if Carpenter didn’t direct a sequel. I wrote some good f/x sequences and some interesting characters. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be involved, but I’d to see the f/x scene from the beach being incorporated, (Jeff’s manager Neil will know the one, totally plagiarised from another movie, but it would look great on film today). If anyone has any questions, email me at hansenfilm@yahoo.ie and I’ll answer them. (Although I won’t give away any plot points. And yes there is a son and indeed, I actually have the perfect casting suggestion!!
