The first time this month that paparazzi got photos of a braless Miley Cyrus, I think I put it in the links and just left it at that. After all, it’s a girl’s prerogative whether she goes braless, and sometimes I’m in the mood to give Miley a pass, and plus, sometimes, some days, bras suck. But Miley has done it again, y’all! Yesterday she stepped out with her mom Tish and her little sister Noah… and Miley’s bra was very noticeably absent. And it was apparently chilly out. And her shirt was thin and white.
So basically, Miley is taking over from Britney Spears. Braless, booty shorts, gum-chompin’, trying-too-hard “sexy” plus manufacturing dumbass controversies wherever possible. For Christ’s sake, get this child a bra. And an education.

Since I really don’t have anything else to say other than “put on a bra,” I’d like to tell one of my worst braless stories. I was a sophomore in college, and I had an early class. At this point in my life, I was a D cup (not yet a DD-cup, like I am now – they grew even bigger in my early 20s). Long story short, I overslept, I didn’t care, whatever, I ended up going to class braless. I was just wearing a simple blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans. The shirt wasn’t too tight, but it wasn’t very baggy either. Anyway, I didn’t think anyone noticed. The next class, my guy friend (who was in the class with me) told me that after the last class, that all of the guys in the class stood around and talked about little else than “the chick with the big rack who wasn’t wearing a bra.” My point? Even if you think you’re fine and no one notices, they totally do. And unless you want to be known as “The Braless Whore of Philosophy 201” you should just put on a bra. Words to live by, Miley.

Miley looks like a pretty standard 17 year old – underdeveloped, still holding a lot of baby fat in the face, and void of all but a view small curves. I think that’s why her antics disturb REALLY me.

I don’t get what the big thing is about HAVING to wear a bra in America. People also used to call Cameron Diaz & other celebs out on it. Why is it so important to Americans that women wear bras? It seems to me they are considered weird at best, sluts at worst when they decide to let their tatas go free-range. Not every woman likes bras, needs bras or feels comfortable in them. My grandmother has never worn a bra in her life. She has really small breasts and just never needed the support and she is the most elegant, put-together woman I know. There is no parental guidelines in that household. Both parents try too hard to be friends with their kids and this is what happens. Kids need discipline and boundaries to grow up to be a self-aware individual.

I’m with Liana and others who care less about the lack of a bra and more about the obvious nipples. I don’t care at all about bra/no bra, but major nippage is just not ok in the US. The One Day at a Time cast might have not worn bras but they wore non-sheer clothing. Just wear a heavier shirt or a cami underneath, girl!
I saw these pics somewhere else and was more freaked out by Noah wearing a bra that was clearly intentionally revealed. I have a kid just her age who is an A-cup and chooses to wear a bra, but would be mortified if anyone could see any part of her bra. We were in a changing room and I remarked that the shirt she was trying on showed her bra strap and she just about incinerated me with the look she gave me for saying “bra strap” in a place where we might be overheard!
