LeAnn Rimes’ new single “Crazy Women” is completely insane

fp_3803803_rimes_leann_fp4_101409

Below, I’ve embedded the audio track for LeAnn Rimes’ new single, “Crazy Women”. The song is told from the perspective of a woman who is being cheated on, whose man is fooling around with some dumb woman who thinks the sun rises and sets in a cheater’s pants. The wronged woman then goes off on the cheater. So… it’s told from the perspective of Brandi Glanville, basically. Here’s the track:

I hate to say this, but it’s actually not a bad song. It definitely reminds me of that Carrie Underwood song, “Before He Cheats”. But cheatin’ and fightin’ and reoccurring themes of country music, from what I understand. It would have been a good single for Underwood, I think – maybe even Faith Hill. But for LeAnn, it is definitely a Twilight Zone moment. Anyway, the single will be on her new album, Lady and Gentlemen, which is due next year. In a statement about the single, LeAnn said: “This album was born out of when I first fell in love with country music and I realized that almost all of my favorite songs were sung by men. I am honored to take a step back in time and sing these songs from a woman’s perspective and hopefully help reintroduce them to a new audience. It’s just such a fun song to sing along and laugh with. After completing this album of songs by some of the most infamous men in country music to drive women crazy in love, I thought this song was a perfect edition to the album!” Ugh. Whatever.

One of the ultimate “done wrong” country songs is “Cry” by Faith Hill. If you haven’t heard it, check it out. It’s poignant, beautifully done, and the vocals are amazing.

I really really really wish LR would just go away. Even for a little while.

  2. james says:

I think the title says it all Leann always thinks she is the victim and this song is so over the top and for her to sing it just proves all together that she is a CRAZY WOMAN

  3. crab says:

I hate that freaking ugly smirk on her freaking ugly face! I would just love to slap it off!! Please let me slap it off!!

  4. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

Well, the girl can sing, I’ll give her that!

    But that’s all. The End.

  5. sasha says:

    ‘edition’ – dumb bitch.

  6. Marjalane says:

Another day, another opportunity to be mean to Leann! She must be of the school that any publicity is good publicity. I don’t have anything to say about her song because I won’t listen to it- I’ve hated her voice ever since she butchered the theme to Conair while Trisha Yearwood did an awesome job of it and Leann had the balls to trash Yearwood’s version. Leann’s always had an overly optimistic opinion of herself. Bitch.

  7. Rita says:

I have to preface my comment with an explanation for the international and northern climate readers as to the identity of Jimmy Swaggart.

Jimmy was/is an old fashion TV preacher who at one time had a significant following and could bring even the most harden criminals to tears with his depiction of a remorseful sinner. The cash from his TV congregation rolled in until one day he was caught in a hotel room full of hookers (a witness reported seeing Charlie Sheen bailing out the back window wearing only his boxer shorts and wing-tips).

His public atonement for his transgressions was an Oscar nominated (by me) performance not to be missed by any and all snake-oil salesmen in training. On live TV, with an open bible in one hand, Jimmy raised both hands to the heavens and with tears streaming down both cheeks he thanked the Lord for purging the demons from his soul because it was they and not him who had control of his peen.

Today, when the camera pans off stage, the audience is revealed to be three over weight women (black, white, and Asian) sitting in folding chairs who apparently are there to partake in the free coffee and donuts after the service.

As far as this LeAnn thread goes……I’ve forgotten the relevance of my comments (dry humor insert lol here).

  8. luls says:

Leanne & miley sound similar in song. wonder if leanne also sounds like miley, (a man) wen she speaks?!

  9. eleanor says:

the word is “addition” stupid woman doesn’t know the difference between effect and affect either go back to school and get out of the public eye for awhile

  10. sasha says:

    @Marjalane

“Leann had the balls to trash Yearwood’s version.”

Really?? What a damn nerve. That version is so beautiful!

  11. sapphire says:

@Rita-great rant! Same sort of martyrdom.

  12. Maddie says:

So this is song is about Eddie?

Or is he different because he was in LUV !!!! and couldn’t help himself, once he set his eyes on the $$Luck Dragon$$ there was no turning back (or turning down a $$free ride$$)

  13. Joyce says:

I hope that this song is a flop and does more major damage to her career. LeAnn is a stupd person and will never learn to be a decent human being, sensitive to others feelings. I hope one day she will get exactly what she deserves

  14. icantbelievethis says:

LOL, the hate for LR cracks me up. And why does Trisha Yearwood get a pass? Garth Brooks admitted to cheating on his wife repeatedly over the years. He was with Yearwood before divorcing.

  15. sasha says:

Because she knew to STFU about their relationship?

Everyone accepts that these things happen, it’s how you behave afterwards that divides the sheep from the squinty goats.

In any case, the ‘love’ was for her version of the song.

  16. icantbelievethis says:

They were in lots of interviews together back then, Twitter wasn’t around.

Good to know there is a “right way” to be a “cheater”.

  17. Rita says:

    @icantbelievethis

“Good to know there is a “right way” to be a “cheater”.

LOL and you seem hell bent on defending the worst of them. Until now I thought you were just a contrarian but now I see you are a well paid aggitator.

  18. anti says:

    #5 – did i miss something?

  19. Marjalane says:

    “squinty goats”

    spot.on. heh.

  20. DSM says:

Pot meet Kettle…. and she definately needs to button that shirt up, whats behind that thing makes me shudder.

  21. icantbelievethis says:

“LOL and you seem hell bent on defending the worst of them. Until now I thought you were just a contrarian but now I see you are a well paid aggitator.”

I’m not defending any of them. Cheating is wrong no matter who does it. However I do not think someone cheating justifies all the hate that is being thrown out there (on either side). And all the assumptions being made amaze me.

If I’m being paid by LR I should be fired b/c I’ve said more than once that I’d never buy her CDs or a magazine that she’s on.

I may not agree with your comments, but I always respected that you put your opinion out there intelligently. Never pegged you as the type to assume a different opinion must be a paid opinion.

  22. Rita says:

    @icantbelievethis

My conclusions are based on my observations that you seldom comment on the thread but rather on other commentors and always in favor of LeAnn. I think that’s fair but that is where I drew my conclusions.

You are intelligent and I respect how you comment. I seldom make accusations to other commentors and I should not have done so towards you. Lets agree to disagree and I’ll try to have more discipline than emotion in my comments. Peace.

  23. bagladey says:

Aaarrggghh!!! Go away Leann Rimes. Go away. Just go away – pleeease.

  24. Anti-icon says:

Real singer/songwriters know about a little thing called TIME/LAPSE on lyrics dealing with the sensitive handling of personal narratives. DUH. That’s why this “recording artist” is a tramp—commercially and personally. And Artistically.

  25. wunderkindt says:

    Is this look ‘skanky lumberjack’?

  26. Wendy says:

I dislike LeAnn, and I generally can’t stand country music, but she does have a really great voice. It’s a pity it’s wasted. There are only about three lyrics in that whole song, and they’re cliche as hell.

  27. KatScorp says:

#18: Read the weird font where Kaiser quoted LeAnn’s written statement from her website…

‘I thought this song was a perfect EDITION to the album!’

Can you see it sweetie 🙂

  28. icantbelievethis says:

    @Rita

I did not mean to offend you. Honestly, I was just curious. I never really read gossip site comments until I found this site and was drawn in by the Mel Gibson posts.

So when I ask a question it isn’t meant to be malicious, I am just curious. Probably stems from my communication background, I am fascinated by Internet interactions. In this instance I’m fascinated by how strongly people feel. It isn’t that I support LR but more that I wonder why some dislike her so strongly.

I don’t mind if someone disagrees with me, it is interesting to see another perspective.

  29. Kiska says:

If it weren’t for her twittering insanity I’d be somewhat neutral about the girl.

  30. Alexis says:

Ok, this is like a blues/pop song with a slight twang. Country isn’t bad…I think, but I don’t know, cuz I think of Johnny Cash or like Cold Mountain folk songs. I know I hate country as it is defined today. Everything on CMT.

  31. 4Real says:

I’m sorry who is this unfortunate looking person again? A new Idol contestant or something??

  32. Dromedary says:

    @Rita –

Love the Jimmy Swaggart description! I grew up not far from his ridiculous bible college… “I have sinned! (sob sob sob, cue tear).

Do you remember that after that, he was caught again? That one put his televangelist career in the crapper.

  33. kimberly says:

why does she look drunk in every picture.

I think jessica simpson and her would make really good friends . . .

  34. murt says:

In 2006 she covered that old Barbara Mandrell song, “If Loving You is Wrong I Don’t Wanna Be Right!”

  35. why? says:

In her ABC interview Leann said that if she wasn’t a celebrity that no one would have batted an eye over the fact that she ruined two marriages.

Well there are two problems with her logic.

People are talking about LR because SHE keeps putting it out there. Even Showbiz Tonight called her out. They said that if she wants people to move on and stop defining her by her affair, then LR should just STOP talking about her affair via interviews and making a song where she gloats about the affair.

Secondly, it is not her celebrity status that makes people comment on her bad behavior. It’s the fact that the public doesn’t find affairs, cute/hot/sexy. If she wasn’t so out of touch with reality, she would get that people do comment on affairs that don’t occur in the limelight of Hollywood. Does she even understand what implications she is even saying?

  36. icantbelievethis says:

“It’s the fact that the public doesn’t find affairs, cute/hot/sexy.”

I really think that they would be treated either like Tori and Dean (successful reality show careers) or Jolie/Pitt (destined to be together–or that is how some see them).

Also I think she assumed she would get a different reaction to her Twittering. Look at the various celebs who have become more popular after being an ass on Twitter. Alot of people didn’t really know Blake Shelton until he started Tweeting (?) and he’s an ass on there (I think he’s funny and have always loved his sense of humor). John Mayer was a douche and had millions of Twitter followers. I think Leann thought it would help her become more “real” or “likeable”. And now she can’t stop b/c that would be like admitting she was wrong . . .

  37. Taylor says:

    She’s just yucky

  38. KatScorp says:

#33 I remember getting “If Loving You is Wrong (I Don’t Want to be Right)” last year and at the lyric – “you’ve a wife and two little kids who need you just as much”, I thought “wow! Prescient!” She did sing it well; on my backup copy of ‘Family’ I’ve got it following “I Wish I Was Wrong”, a track that that was suppossed to be on the ‘Family’ album. Thank Thor for YouTube.

Speaking of that site, no one has uploaded “Crazy Women” yet, save for some self-indulgent guy who recorded himself reacting to the streaming. I’ve been listening constantly since yesterday. I’m afraid it is good enough to revive LeAnn’s career, because I’ve been listening to it all day on my MP……. I mean, on soundcloud.com

Sad fact it, it’s catchy and now I’ve got the chorus stuck in my head.

It isn’t legal to have it as anything but the protected adobe flash stream. But if I’m listening to it on repeat whilst doing my errands and donating blood today, then it is probably going to chart well. I’m not ecstatic about that.

  39. why? says:

Leann didn’t start tweeting to make herself likeable, she started tweeting because it was just another means to try to upstage EC ex-wife or prove that her relationship with EC was better than his marriage. It is almost as if LR doesn’t feel happy about her relationship until she can make BG feel bad.

Leann is looking to be reassured and that is what she gets when those “Fans” write those “I love LR and EC” or “congrats” posts.

Leann won’t stop because she is insecure. She is using twitter to compensate for what she can’t get from EC. It is almost as if LR feels empowered by the fact that she can tweet about another woman’s kids because in her mind, no one can do anything to stop her from doing so. While she can’t control EC affairs or need to cheat on her with other women, LR feels control when she talks about another woman’s kids and her sex life.

  40. why? says:

She is already getting some heat for this song.

People are saying that it’s almost as if she is gloating about her affair with EC.

That it probably wasn’t a good idea to pick this song, considering what she said in her interview on ABC.

Leann does have a great voice, but the song sounds empty. It’s like LR is just singing the words, but doesn’t actually have a clue about what she is talking about in that song or what the words from her mouth truly mean. There is no feeling behind the song; as compared to how she use to sing in the past.

This is going to do well because they are going to market it like crazy. Notice how she went to People mag this time around to get the word out when her first two attempts at getting it noticed failed. She can’t have this single failing like the other one did.

  41. amerikanka says:

LeAnn Rimes is really wonderful young woman! She is doing great. She is really crazy in her own way in all good sense. I really adore her. She is nice.
