Kate Gosselin on camping with Sarah Palin: “Why would you pretend to be homeless?”

kategosselinal1
Kate Gosselin and her poor kids were the very special guests on Sarah Palin’s Alaska last night. (Unlike Sister Wives, TLC has actually put SP’s Alaska on iTunes, so props to them for that.) As we’ve heard from the leaked previews, the show has Kate Gosselin at her finest. Kate and her kids and the outdoorsy Palin family all went on a camping trip in a national forest only reachable by plane. The details we were privy to did not do justice to what an intolerant, entitled bitch Kate Gosselin was. She complained the whole time while her kids seemed to be enjoying themselves, leaving before they had a chance to camp out as planned. This show made Sarah Palin seem somewhat normal, albeit affected and annoying, especially in comparison to Kate and her complete inability to focus on anything beyond her immediate needs, particularly her kids.

First we saw Kate and Sarah bond over their shared media issues and how they’ve both been the target of the media. When they went to “bear class,” things started to go south. Kate was negative, pessimistic and bored during their bear awareness class, which included an education section followed by some target shooting. Kate couldn’t be bothered with any of it, and that was the case when it came to camping out. Everything was set up ahead of time and ready for her, including a fire, but she stood grumbling under the tarmac instead of joining in with her kids and the Palins, who were having a great time. Entertainment Weekly has a very good recap. Some of EW’s recap is below, with more at the source:

As Sarah’s father said later of Kate, “She bitched from the moment she got off the plane.” The morning of the camp-out, it began to rain. “I’ve never camped for real,” said Kate, gazing at the damp camp site that had been chosen. “You really like this?” she asked Palin. Sarah maintained high spirits in direct proportion to Kate’s plummeting spirits. “We’ll stoke the fire and stoke some fun!” Palin crowed, bustling around with Piper, daughter Willow, and many of the Gosselin children gathering sticks and chunks of wood.

Kate, however, left her brood to the care of Sarah and Palin’s dad. (Husband Todd, wise man that he is, very noticeably went off to fish somewhere where he would not be able to hear Kate’s lamentations.) Kate jammed her hands in her poncho pockets, parked herself under a small open canopy that had been built for minimal rain protection, and started to complain.

“I’m worried about my toes; they’re freezing,” she said.

“I’ve been bitten [by bugs] about 200 times — it’s horrible,” she moaned.

“I’m miserable, but somebody‘s gotta be,” she said nonsensically.

“This is cruel and unusual punishment,” she whined.

When Palin and her daughters helped all the little Gosselins make s’mores over the camp fire, Kate declined to join them. Instead, seeing some gooey marshmallow land on a few sleeves, she went into a temper-tantrum fury.

“This is ridiculous!” she shrieked. “I just don’t get it! There are no paper towels! I’m freezing to the bone, I have 19 layers on, my hands are frigid!”

Kate issued an ultimatum: “I held it together as long as I could, and I’m done now.”

And she told the kids they were not going to camp out overnight as planned; they were heading back home. Their little faces fell. They hesitated and expressed little chirps of protest, saying they wanted to stay.

Kate was cruelly decisive: “Okay, goodbye. You’re now a Palin, not a Gosselin,” she said. Faced with a camp-out versus a loss of identity, the wee ones followed their mom onto a waiting plane to escape Alaska. Cut to an appalled-seeming Piper, who no longer looked as though she was a fan of Kate’s. Palin and her family remained, and spent the night in tents.
Palin said she regretted only that the Gosselin children missed out on the camp-out, a “good experience they never would have forgotten.”

I honestly cannot imagine what goes through Kate Gosselin’s head these days. Why does she voluntarily place herself in situations in which she knows she’ll end up in a foul mood, and then not even try, even if only for the selfish reason of improving her media image, to be minimally pleasant? Since every one of Kate’s complaints was made directly to the camera, no one can even claim that the producers of Sarah Palin’s Alaska somehow edited the footage to make Gosselin look bad.

She did that all on her own.

[From Entertainment Weekly]

I was actually starting to feel sorry for miserable Kate until she made a really nasty and unnecessary remark to Sarah’s youngest daughter Piper. She confronted the nine year old girl and asked “Is this what you guys do here? This is fun for you? It’s very interesting.

Other price quotes from Kate include:
It kills me that people, like, willingly do this. [camp outdoors] I can’t get over it. I mean, that is so shocking to me.

We are not camping people, I’ll scream it from mountaintops. This is ridiculous. Why would you pretend to be homeless? I don’t get it, I just don’t get the concept.

There’s no paper towels, like how do you make sandwiches for eight kids on your arm? I don’t see a table, I don’t see utensils, I don’t see hand cleansing materials.

This is not ideal conditions. I am freezing to the bone, I have 19 layers on. My hands are frigid. I held it together as long as I could and I’m done now.”

Kate’s kids didn’t seem to mind sleeping out in the woods, in fact several of them told her they wanted to stay. That didn’t happen of course. It’s all about Kate and how comfortable and catered to she is. It doesn’t matter if her kids are having fun making s’mores and camping, she can’t be bothered. I’m surprised she didn’t bring her bodyguard with her.

ugh…….i might catch parts of it on youtube to see Miss High and Mighty. but ugh….poor munchkins. I bet Jon would’ve let them camp, and enjoyed it too.

  2. Sarah says:

Wow, my dislike of her has actually grown and I didn’t think that was possible.

  3. Isabel says:

She is a wretched and vile woman.

  4. Anastasia says:

I don’t watch her show and, not being a fan of Sarah Palin’s, don’t watch this show, either. But my curiosity got the better of me and I watched the clips on youtube just now.

Holy shizz. She was just completely freaking rude, inappropriate, horrible.

I couldn’t believe she told the kids “you’re a Palin now” when she wanted to leave and they wanted to stay, then asked who is a Palin and who is a Gosselin?

Uh, well, if I were six and my mother was talking about giving me to another family versus going with her, I’d go with her. No matter how bad your mom is, that’s SCARY to a kid! Emotionally hostile and abusive.

I also didn’t think I could dislike Kate Gosselin any more than I do, but this accomplished it quite well. I’m still no fan of “gee shucks I’m just a folksy gal” Sarah Palin. I watched that just to see Kate freak out and wasn’t disappointed.

Now can we get this woman off TV for good? It’s obvious she doesn’t give a shit about her kids, but there’s nothing I can do about that. Just get her out of the public eye.

  5. InVain says:

I love how this woman pretends like she’s never even been exposed to the IDEA of camping. I never watched her show (and never plan to), but isn’t she from Pennsylvania? And if I’m not mistaken…not exactly from an urban area? So why is this camping thing such a foreign concept? Oh…right…she’s an idiot/drama queen. Get a grip.

  6. Jeri says:

Too bad she doesn’t take her childrens’ feelings into consideration (or anyones feelings beside her own).

  7. Lem says:

for sure they should have taken jon instead of kate.
thanks for the reminder to dvr this mess!

  8. dread pirate cuervo says:

I hate camping. My dad used to take me all the time when I was little. My best camping has been done in hotels on the beach. Or the time I went camping in Vegas & had a jacuzzi in the room. But to say that it is pretending to be homeless? Pretending to be an ancient Native American, maybe, but homeless, no. This bish is from PA. It gets cold there & people go camping there. & the bitchery to the young girl…karma will come snatch that Barbie hair off your head, Kate Gosselin.

  9. Anastasia says:

Her parents OWNED a campground when she was growing up. I have the feeling she was always too much of a pampered princess to go camping as a child.

  10. Kim says:

I wish Sarah or someone involved in the show spoke out for those kids and told Kate they could stay & she could leave? She is so used to not being with her kids Im sure she would have been fine with this.

Sarah should invite Jon and the kids camping! You know he would let them stay the night.

  11. Kim says:

This has to be fake right? no human can be this vile can they? and be a mother of 8?? Those poor children!!!!

Wait til they grow up and take a cue from mommy dearest to write a tell all book about their childhood detailing what a monster their mother is.

  12. mln76 says:

I hate Kate Gosselin so much for making me team Palin (if only on this issue). Camping is really good for kids much better than being forced into a reality TV career.

  13. Jo says:

She was also complaining about no one wanting to date her and having no friends. NO! really? I can’t imagine why…

I foresee a very sad and lonely future for Kate.

  14. Xx says:

The fact that she threatened the kids with abandonment so she could bully them into the plane speaks volumes. She sucks.

  15. Bodhi says:

I watched it last night & laughed my ass off! It really is a feat to make Sarah Palin seem normal & likable, but somehow Kate managed. I couldn’t believe what a cow she was! I mean, come on! Her kids were having a total blast learning with Sarah’s retired school teacher dad (who is a totally cute little old man) & I thought it was cruel the way she told them that if they didn’t leave they would be Palins. Hell, I would have chosen Palin any day! (I think hell officially froze over when I typed those words)

  16. lucy2 says:

    What a beast.

I don’t like camping (or Palin) either, but if I agreed to do it, and got paid to do it for my show, I’d go and make the best of it, or don’t agree to go. I hate when people are rude like that.

  17. MissyA says:

Only Kate Gosselin can make Sara Palin look good. The witch.

It’s shocking to me that people can’t appreciate the beauty of nature. I loooove the outdoors. Running, hiking, climbing, kayaking – if I wasn’t so squeamish (or a vegetarian) I’d consider hunting and fishing, as well.

Camping out in BLM, in the heart of the wilderness, where your nearest neighbor is miles away. . . so serene. The boyfriend and I keep our tent (our “summerhome”) and sleeping gear in our trunk at all times – you never know when an adventure awaits!

  18. spotchecker says:

still can’t stand palin more than gosselin, purely b/c palin is more dangerous. there are tent cities in california where people who’ve lost their homes to foreclosure now camp all year around, with their children, and i don’t see them on her show.

given her sense of self-entitlement and willfully ignorant economic policies, i’ll take a bitchy-diva registered nurse over a overgrown mean girl who speaks in twitter and wants to be the actual leader of this country, anyday.

kate was never t-h-a-t delusional. priorities, peoples.

  19. Janie says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB36x48POcM

That’s Part one on Youtube… the rest follow! WOW! Kate really is delusional! Even if it is clever editing she still is a biotch thru and thru. I feel so sad for those kids!
PS… I never loved camping but I have four sons and an outdoorsy husband so we did a ton of camping. Boys love dirt, water bugs… I was always a good sport but boy was I glad when I got to stay home when my eldest son was working!
    🙂
I just don’t understand why Kate can’t let her kids enjoy life!?

  20. girl says:

I hate camping but for my kids, I would do it and shut the fuck up about hating it. As far as we can see, it was only for one night. It is pretty unique experience to camp out in the hinterlands of Alaska. It is beautiful. I just don’t get not making the most of such an opportunity then venting to my diary or best friend (if she has one) later.

I wonder if they did offer for the kids to stay but KG refused because that meant that the kids would get camera time without her.

Honestly, if I was that age, having grown up so far with KG and was offered the opportunity to become a Palin, I totally would have taken it.

  21. fknight says:

This woman is a disgusting pig, I only feel sorry for the children. Sarah should of bi*ch slapped her….anyways

WHY does this wh*re have a show still? The previews are horrendous. I can’t imagine who the hell is still watching this bi*ch!

When is she going to crumble, she deserves a serious dose of REALITY! Karma darling it’s coming around the corner.

  22. Anastasia says:

Let’s all remember Kate was PAID to go on that camping trip by TLC. Probably good money, too.

  23. brownstonefan says:

If her parents did OWN a campground…that is huge! She is not only a prima donna, but a fake one at that!
I, too, am now a Sarah Palin fan and wasn’t before. I have seen the Palin show before Kate was on (won’t watch when Kate is on) and it was endearing and Sarah was loving to her children and husband and they all truly cared for each other. Good family programming.

  24. Novaraen says:

She is a TOTAL nasty twat of a woman. Camping is fun…especially for kids. She couldn’t just buck up (knowing the cameras were rolling) and let them camp?

Hate her so much. I feel soooo sorry for those kids.

  25. SSChevelle says:

kate gosselin is nothing more than a self-righteous,self-serving,self-absorbing, me me me beaaach and never thinks of anyone but herself.

  26. Row6Seat8 says:

It’s pretty obvious that TLC saw what a ratings blockbuster it would be if they took one of their biggest former stars (who clearly is not the outdoorsy type) and enlisted her to promote one of the current biggest stars in America, whether you like Palin’s politics or not.

Kate Gosselin apparently wasn’t shrewd enough to realize that she was a TLC pawn, no more and no less, and that the success of this pairing depended on her appearing impossible and Palin the picture of grace by comparison.

The kids are the ones who suffered and that’s the shame here; however, they’re probably used to it.

  27. Someone Else says:

    @Anastasia —

If you really want Kate to go away, stop commenting and watching the clips.

They keep her around because she ruffles feathers, and that makes good ratings.

  28. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

I will never ever watch or endorse or buy anything that Kate Gosselin has to offer.

She is a witch that never deserved not one of those kids.

I hope Jon gets custody and that is saying a lot.

  29. teehee says:

    BAHAHA– WHAT!?

  30. LindyLou says:

I love camping. It’s peaceful and relaxing to me. I also get that some people aren’t into it – to each his own. But I think it is a real shame that she couldn’t put her selfishness aside for her children – just this once! They probably would have loved it. But then again, if they loved it, they’d want to go again and she had to make sure THAT didn’t happen! Ugh, this bitch.

  31. mln76 says:

maybe Jon can take them camping off camera.

  32. Persistent Cat says:

Wow. I hate camping too but I hate looking like a spoiled, entitled princess even more. And without kids, I still manage to understand that life isn’t always about me and what I want. When I’m somewhere I hate and I’m bored but my husband is having a good time, I work damn hard in making sure he doesn’t sense it so he can enjoy himself.

That woman really is all kind’s of awful, isn’t she?

  33. peanut says:

people are suprised and shocked by these comments? There are ignorant people everywhere…isn’t that what makes great tv? Jersey shore anyone? she is obviosly reacting for tv and tring to get a reaction…i think she is an idiot and can’t waste my time on these boring, mindless reality shows that simply celebrate mediocrity.

  34. Kikadee says:

    Under the tarmac? I wish.

  35. becky says:

is being this cruel some kind of mental disease? i mean, treating your kids like that is a little sick, no?

  36. hairball says:

“I don’t like camping (or Palin) either, but if I agreed to do it, and got paid to do it for my show, I’d go and make the best of it, or don’t agree to go.”

TOTALLY agree. I loathe, despise, hate camping. I actually agree with her, that it is like being homeless. I love the outdoors and being outside. However, I need electricity and running water at the end of the day.

If she felt that way, then DON’T take the enormous amounts of money they gave you to do it.

I want to cry for her kids every time. Everyone is watching and knowing they are being abused, but no one can do anything for them.

  37. Kozmo says:

    becky, I agree 1000000000000000000%

  38. Lola7 says:

She is sick and pathetic! I feel so sorry for her children. Kate actually makes Sarah look good – that alone is shocking. I hope someone saves her children or else they just might all end up like Maddy; troubled, frustrated and neglected.

  39. Kiska says:

The gosselin kids don’t need to write a tell-all book because Kate is openly showing what a monster bitch of a mother she is on tv.

Sadly she made Palin so more likeable.

Alaska is beautiful by the way and to have the opportunity to camp is once in a lifetime.

  40. LindaR says:

This is fake. It’s reality television meaning it’s been scripted with non-actors playing the parts. Kate is too stupid to realize that the part she was given made her look like an ass. That’s all there is to this.

  41. Diane says:

    Manipulative bitch

  42. echolocate says:

I don’t particularly like or respect Palin, due to her approach to politics. I don’t agree with her views, but that’s not even my major problem with her. Her goals are wholly self-focused and cynical, and have nothing to do with public service or deeper beliefs.

Yet–if I were to go on her show, or even meet her in person, I would speak respectfully to her as long as she extended the same courtesy to me.

I assume Kate has fewer issues with Palin’s “beliefs” and famewhore approach to politics. So her behavior on this show was really unbelievable. This is a woman who thinks she’s more important than Palin. Her hubris was unbelievable, especially given the kindnesses shown to her kids by Palin’s dad, Willow, and Piper. Her manner with Piper and the threat to the kids about becoming Palins were also shocking–this is a woman who plainly hates children. She has a really serious personality disorder that should be treated rather than filmed. At a minimum, she verbally abuses her kids.

  43. Whatever says:

Why agree to go, if she hates camping? I hate it too, but I would suck it up for the kids. Fortunately, they don’t want to go either – so we stick to things we all like. She puts herself in these situations and then acts like a total bitch.

  44. Lady D says:

“To have the opportunity to camp in Alaska is a once in a lifetime experience.” I love camping, I hate the cold, but I completely cosign with the above sentiment.

  45. 4Real says:

    Wow what a miserable woman.

  46. Sigh. says:

I told my 3 female teen cousins once: If you wanna sleep/wake when you want, spend your money when/how you want, go and do only what you want, when you want, and don’t want your stuff broken/missing, then DON’T. HAVE. KIDS.

It’s not a dig, it’s a simple fact (and I loves the chirruns). There’s no “take backs,” “do overs,” or “not today” in parenting.

How many MISERABLE parents have I seen entering/exiting Chuck E Cheese, standing in a hot, long-ass line at a kiddie amusement park, learning dance steps/lines just to sit thru God-awful recitals/games, or do crippling overtime for B-day/Xmas gifts, and aside from underpaid fosters, NONE of them are being PAID to do so? It’s called LOVING your kids, not just yourself.

I can with any other bitch, but not THIS bitch…

  47. Cici says:

That prostitute palin owns a show?

    sheeesh…….what has world come to?

  48. journey says:

maybe the tea partyers paid gosselin to act the fool so that palin would appear more likeable. they probably even convinced kate that everyone would think she was cute and “precious” and amusing with her diva-ish ways. poor stupid cow. and poor sad kidlets having to deal with the stupid cow.

  49. Louise says:

I can’t believe that Kate was so cruel to her kids. You would think knowing that she was being taped to would be nicer and more considerate.

  50. vanessa says:

I watched a few minutes of this last night and had to turn it off because it was so disturbing. The fit she threw was completely childish about being cold, um it’s Alaska, what did you expect? I think once Jon left she just gave up on being a mom and raising those kids she so desperately wanted.. I hope her kids are spending more time with Jon than her because at least he would do things with them that they would want to do.

  51. jane16 says:

I can’t believe this wretched woman (Gosselin) actually gets paid to be her obnoxious self. I feel sorry for her poor kids. All kids should get to do at least one camp out in life. I hope she disappears from the public consciousness soon.

  52. The Hamm is My Dream Man says:

High five to everyone who said they’d just suck it up, shut up and let the kids enjoy themselves.

My mom took us many many places that, looking back, were probably miserably boring or stupid or annoying to her. But she let us have our fun as children.

I hate camping with a passion (i think people are really on one side of the fence or the other on the topic) but when I eventually have kids and if they want to go, I’d take them and let them enjoy it and not be such a nasty bitch about it. Jeez.

This woman has mental issues foreal. She should see someone and get on some kind of medication.

  53. LILO-donotpassgo-donotcollect200$ says:

I can’t say i’m shocked that she doesn’t care about anything but herself and her needs. People she paraded her children around on national tv to make a buck. This shouldn’t be shocking or new behavior.

  54. Kiska says:

Kate reminds me of a woman I once knew growing up. I use to babysit her two adopted kids. Before getting her kids it was her LIFE’s purpose to be a mother. She went through all the fertility treatments – mind you this was back before it was as advanced as it is now and it wasn’t successful. Well, there is a REASON for it. She should NEVER had been a mother. She was absolutely psychotic, mean, and narcasstic.

So, they ended up doing a private adoption. First a boy and then a girl. Well, let me tell you she turned into a MONSTER. She would demean and hit those kids and do it openly in front of me. Her older son got the brunt of her wrath and it was truly disturbing. She also put on airs of how dedicated and blahhhh blahhh everything for the kids etc. In reality, it was all about her. Her kids were a matching set of trophies for her to put on an act and to use for manipulation. Her husband, was a mealy mouthed, weak man who just let her control everything.
Sadly, her eldest son, (whom I adored) run away at age 12. He just couldn’t handle it. I believe he may have tried finding his biological mom. I’m not sure.
Anyhow, the Gossellnin kids have my sympathies. I hope that they can get away from her ASAP because what they show on camera, I shudder to think what goes on off camera.

  55. Marjalane says:

Can you imagine what those children’s lives are like when the camera’s aren’t rolling?! I watched it, and I too am a child of parents that forced the camping vacations- some were great fun, some were hideous- and I actually thought the Palin trip looked fun. Whenever there’s an adult(s) that’s enthusiastic and cheerful, it makes the whole trip better. Kate was NOT that individual! I felt so bad for those kids! They looked stunned to see another kid, (Piper) enjoying herself with her parents. Piper had the most pitiful look on her face when her mom asked her if she wanted to walk the Gosselins to their plane! It was like, “uh, no frickin’ way. Glad to see the back of that bitch!”. I’m glad TLC didn’t pull any punches with this hideous she-witch. Those kids are going to be SO screwed up. Very sad, indeed.

  56. Churchston Winsthill says:

Sarah likes shooting things, Kate needs to be shot, couldn’t someone have suggested that maybe a stroll through the forest in deer-colored clothes might have made Kate feel a bit better?

  57. Hautie says:

She really has no business being the primary parent to those poor children.

And if Jon had not acted like King of the Douche’s during their divorce… he could have won custody of them.

So instead they are stuck with the woman who has no love for them. Unless they are bringing a paycheck into her home. Cause there is nothing she loved more than that paycheck.

  58. Crash2GO2 says:

    @Churchston Winsthill: ROTFL!!!

I SERIOUSLY hope that this episode will lose Kate a whole bunch of fans. What an abhorrent way to treat your children.

  59. april says:

i hope the kids do write a book and get lots of money and kate will be broke

  60. Janie says:

Another thing… Apparently she spent approx $5000 to fly to New York with her bodyguard for a haircut. The cut and keratin treatment she had done cost almost $1000 of that. Is she nuts? What about her kids? Shouldn’t she be saving for their future. I wish TLC would just cancel the show already. I refuse to watch it and will never purchase anything that she is involved with. WHO exactly are her supporters?

  61. spotchecker says:

so what does anyone here think would happen if palin had to do actual rounds w/ kate while on one of her nursing shifts [in her former life]? do you really think palin would make it without complaining about how this country has the best healthcare if these poor sots would only be willing to pay for it? [her family used to go to canada for cheaper healthcare, btw. thank. you. canada.] it’s way harder to maintain and save lives than shoot a moose from a helicopter and whack a halibut to death like a high maintenance cavegirl.

so yes, i wish kate would go back to her private life as a successful RN, and i really wish palin would go back to her private life as a hockey mom.

    really.

  62. JenJen says:

Kate was crying! Like a spoiled child that isn’t getting her way. Yes, she was very rude even tho Palin is annoying. If she didn’t want to be there she shouldn’t have went instead of spitting in the face of hospitality and a hobby and way of life. She is class-less and her trailer park up bringing always shows. All she talks about it what she has, does and wants, materialistic shrew.

  63. Baby says:

I didn’t think I could despise that wench anymore than I already do.. And then it happend.. She is pure evil.

  64. SixxKitty says:

@kim’s “This has to be fake right? no human can be this vile can they? and be a mother of 8?? Those poor children!!!!”
    My sentiments exactly!
But what shocks me the most, is that not only is she their caregiver/parental ‘unit’, she thinks that she is normal, and everyone thinks like her, oh wait, sorry folks, she has never had a thought in her feeble mind that didn’t have a dollar sign in it, bet she stayed the minimal time to cash the pay cheque for ‘her’ appearance, sadly I cannot wait to read the books her kids write as adults, but what bothers me most is as adults they will watch the show, know the harsh truth, and spend all that bestseller money on therapy.

  65. *-* says:

God, I can’t stand her but I’m with her .. I HATE camping. lol

  66. Sassy says:

How lovely to threaten your children with abandonment (“you’re a Palin now!”) so you can scare them into leaving a situation where they were CLEARLY having fun. As parents, we sometimes do things we don’t necessarily enjoy but it’s because we want our kids to have many experiences they can remember for a lifetime. Apparently this concept escapes Kate Gosselin. Ugh.

  67. CB Rawks says:

“Her kids were a matching set of trophies for her to put on an act and to use for manipulation. Her husband, was a mealy mouthed, weak man who just let her control everything.”

Kiska, when did you meet my parents?! 😀

  68. Az says:

When cee-you-next-Tuesdays attack, Alaska edition. That Gosselin woman is a piece of work. When you make Sarah Palin look like the good parent, you know something is really wrong. Sarah should have invited the Octomom and her brood instead.

  69. belle Epoch says:

#35 Look up Borderline Personality Disorder. If nothing else you’ll learn about a really interesting type of… person.

Imagine the therapy these kids are going to need. What happened to the little one who was sleeping in the cellar?

  70. texasmom says:

Those kids are wrecked. The looks on their faces when she told them they were Palins and not Gosselins were heartbreaking. Kate gets odder and odder, I really hope she doesn’t snap and harm those kids (any more than she has).

  71. Kiska says:

    @ CB Rawks

You have my sympathy. I was just a kid then but in retrospect, I wish I had done more to protect those kids.

  72. Lisa Jourdan says:

I do like Sarah but not her total outdoorsy show. She shot an elk…sad to me, but I also love Bigmacs..Kate was riduculous. Does anyone know if she really shit her pants…I didnt’ pick up on that…

  73. Cakes says:

Ill go camping to please my mother in law. But we have a compromise: Ill go and do whatever she want to do, but we leave after three days. Thats the longest I can go without a shower. When my baby is born and she wants to go camping Ill go too. Maybe I can even spin it into a special thing for just her and grandma lol *fingers crossed*
I would never in a million years throw a hissy fit and then force my daughter to leave when shes having fun. I know I have at least 20 somethin years of sitting thru things I just dont want to sit thru. But I realized something before I got pregnant, its not all about me. Unfortunately, 8 kids later, Kate still doesnt understand this. I feel bad for those kids.

  74. hairball says:

Ok, I just You Tubed the episodes.

Believe me when I say this causes me GREAT discomfort to say, GREAT discomfort, but I actually respect how Palin handled herself.

Kate G. is a complete c*nt who should have never had kids. The disgust I have for TLC to continue to broadcast this woman’s mental abuse of her children is staggering.

  75. Hakura says:

I’m not shocked by this, the woman SOLD her children to a TV network. She’s living financially off the sacrifice of their childhood.

I also blame the network. They know better than *anyone* how abusive Kate is… & yet continue to renew her contract, which is arguably even condoning her behavior as they haven’t reported her to the authorities, or spoken out in defense of the kids. They have the power to stop this show, to assure the kid’s well being and not tolerate Kate’s actions, but thats just not as profitable, I guess.

The camp situation is just teaching her children that they have the right to pitch a hissy fit when something isn’t going your way, to hell with everyone else. & She likely didn’t want to leave the kids behind because THATS where the cameras are going to stay. She has to have her little herd of cash cows WITH her, or no one gives a damn about her or anything she does.

And I’ve never been more horrified than I was when she threatened to leave them. To make her children think, even for one second, that she would really abandon them… or that she would GIVE THEM AWAY to another family… is terrifying and SO hurtful, especially to kids. They can’t feel good about themselves, with their own mother threatening to send them away.

It’s truly awful when JON is the lesser of two evils.

  76. Celebitchy says:

I didn’t write this in the story, but I liked how the Palins explained Kate’s behavior to the cameras. They said she was out of her element and freaking out, and they never put her down or even mocked her really, and they easily could have. I agree echolocate and others who say she abuses her kids verbally at least and it must be worse off camera. This show does put Palin in a very good light, although she’s pushing her down home angle a little too hard in spots she does come across as a decent person. I don’t agree with her politics either but this does make her out to be a decent person with a nice family. If only she could stop responding to everyone that criticizes her.

  77. Westcoaster says:

Does anyone else think that Kate is heading for some sort of breakdown? She has become totally irrational and treats her children like garbage. No sane person acts like that. I worry for those kids

  78. Jo says:

“Sarah likes shooting things, Kate needs to be shot,…. ”

Exactly !! LOL Too bad they didn’t invite Dick Cheney.

  79. kathy says:

I think threatening to disown her kids is child abuse. An investigation by the child welfare authorities is something to be considered. Shame on you, TLC, for perpetuating this nightmare!!!

  80. KelBear says:

I stayed on her side for as along as I could but right now I am officially going to say…She is a BITCH and has no respect!

  81. Tiffany says:

    Kate Gosselin=Thunderc*nt!

Her kids were having so much fun. Did you see them all (both families) rolling their eyes at her drama filled pity party?
Sarah seems like a fun, loving mom, where Kate came off like a prissy bitch 3 year old. She is from PA for goodness sakes! It is just as freaking cold during the winter where she lives. What a waste of a mother she is. I can’t wait until the kids are old enough to write their tell alls. I remember back in the day when the show started and she made Jon do everything, just ordered him around. You tube search her worst moments and cringe away!

  82. Judy says:

This camping trip took place in July, and she DID bring her lover/bodyguard with her. In fact, they disappeared together for two days and one of the tups asked, “Where did Mommy go and when is she coming back?” She goes nowhere without Lover Steve.

  83. GOMO1313 says:

She must have gotten paid good money to put herself and the children in such an unbearable situation. TLC is really milking her and the kids for everything they can get – RATINGS. It is really painful. I am not a fan of Kate in fact I dispise her and wish she would just go away out of the limelight that she supposedly dispises! But she has gotten addicted to it. And I’m sure she will pop up on TV or People magazine soon.

  84. Hakura says:

Much as I hate to admit it, Palin did come across as a decent parent. It’s really depressing that seeing Sarah being a loving mother was so surprising, and in such stark contrast to what we’re used to.

  85. Kiska says:

The only way to rid Kate from the media is to not watch her show. period.

  86. d says:

No matter how much time and money Kate spends at the salon, no matter how much plastic surgery she does, her inner ugliness always comes out in all its spectacular glory.

  87. Patty says:

I’m totally blown away that ANY television station or news outlet gives Kate on second of coverage. She is a psycho nut job that is famous for nothing more then her fertility doctor fertilizing a bunch of her eggs and being stupid enough to implant them many back in her womb. She’s a selfish skank of a mother. It’s insane that the powers that be at TLC and NBC keep shoving this worthless woman in the public’s face. Here’s an idea TLC– how about a show entailing the day and life of mother who’s a son or daughter is over in the middle east fighting for our safety and way of life? That’s true reality!! Not this pathetic, spotlight seeking, TV whore.

  88. sassy says:

you know, when you become a parent, it stops being about you and more about them. she’s selfish

  89. Michelle says:

I keep picturing Kate Gosselin with a new hairstyle. It’s half black on one side, and half white on the other side.
Also, she’s wearing a coat made out of the fur of Dalmation puppies.
I think that would be a really good look for her.

  90. Donn says:

I have always been on Kate’s side but after watching this show I find her very very mean. She signed on to do this show and she total acted like an ass. I hope she don’t get paid for this because she don’t deserve one dime. She is also treating her kids like they were Jon back lashing at them. If I were Sara I would have put her on the plane the second time she started bitching. I have never seen a more rudder person in my whole life. No wonder Jon left, The kids will be next to leave. The last straw for me was when she made rude comments to Sara’s daughter shame on her. I will never watch anything having to do with Kate. She is queen Bitch of all species .

  91. Summer says:

Kate is a narcissist to her core and that’s been her motivation to continue with her all consuming drive to remain in the public eye – and NOT for the sake of her children as she repeatedly claims. It’s impossible for anyone to pretend to be something they’re not long term. Kate’s true colors have increasingly come out – and the wonderful part of it all is that she’s done it all herself. She may claim over and over again to being misrepresented by an unfair media when things don’t go her way, but it’s her actions that speak louder than anything else. For all you long-time Kate supporters out there, I hope this recent episode has finally woken you up to her – hopefully enough to stop watching her show. Please, please let it all stop. Those poor, poor kids.

  92. LEM says:

We’re shocked she didn’t want to spend the night partaking on an activity like camping (“just like the homeless”), but we should have known, because on Jon Kate + 8 when it was on, Kate decided to treat Maddie to a special mini vacation. (jon took kara skiing) while Kate’s vaca w/ Maddie of choice, was flying somewhere to CA and going to a spa…w/ a 7 year old… to have mani/pedis and be spoiled. We should have seen the Diva coming a long time ago.

  93. Maranatha says:

Sarah and her family had the whole camp set up for Kate and her 8 kids to have a good time. Piper was beside herself to have met Kate and the kids, being their fan. The kids unload…….Sarah and her Parents entertain Kate’s 8 children plus the Palin kids without ANY help from Kate who chooses to snivel under the shelter. You gotta hand it to Sarah for keeping her cool with 10 children camping in the rain. The Palins play with those 8 kids, feed them, teach them things ALONE until Pitiful Kate can not stand another moment and announces their departure. This woman made me so sick just listening to her the whole time…..but when she threatened to “disown” her children who protested leaving because they were having fun, and the evil, snide remark made to Piper under the shelter curled my stomach. Can you imagine? Her idol hurting her like that? You can see it right on her face….it is nice to see at the end she turns to her family.

  94. Drumbones says:

I just read that Kate receives $250,000 per episode and is a multimillionaire. I just cannot beleive how she acted on this show. I dislike her more than ever now.

  95. Susan Miller says:

I have never seen as selfish as a mother as Kate Gosselin. Watching her on the Alaska episode with the camp out was disgusting. I have done dozens of countless things, I did not want to do for the sake of my children. The conditions were not that primitive. As for washing their hands, I say to Kate, use the lake. The cruelest comment was when she told her kids that wanted to stay they were no longer Gosselins they were Palin’s. I hope when she in paying the shrink bills later in life, she realizes she has no one to blame but herself. I say grow up Kate, all of life is not five star hotels, and mani -pedis. You disgust me.
