“Employee of the Month” looks pretty boring

I know how the screenwriter of the new movie with Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook, “Employee of the Month,” pitched it: “It’s like Office Space in Costco meets Napoleon Dynamite.”

The film’s even got Pedro from “Napoleon Dynamite” except he’s named “Jorge.”

It doesn’t look original or particularly funny. You know that it’s gonna suck when the trailer looks boring. There could be some good parts, but I’m not impressed.

Trailer, kind of boring

Film clip, also boring

Comingsoon.net says that “Employee of the Month” will be released on October 6, 2006.

Having yet to see Napoleon Dynamite, the movie doesn’t seem so bad. Except that Jessica really, really can’t act. Even her scripted Proactiv commercial is bad. Sorry for the bad grammar.

Napoleon Dynamite is actually really good. It’s got a unique retro style and the humor is almost touching. I’m thinking this movie tries to emulate it and fails miserably, but I’m just judging from the trailer. Jessica can act like her bland self.

Hey Karen – do you have a blog about pop culture or celebrities? If so, e-mail me the link: info -at- celebitchy.com. (I was impressed by how much you knew about XTina)

My first thought was I can’t ever see Jessica Simpson using the word bionic in a sentence

I’ll go see anything with Dane Cook in it, but I do wish Jugs over there didn’t have to share the screen with him.

  5. Shannon says:

It looks alright. I’m gonna see it cuz I like Jessica.
