US Weekly is reporting that actress Kate Hudson, 29, and athlete Lance Armstrong, 36, have called it quits after a three month relationship. These two had a whirlwind courtship that first became public when they attended parties at Cannes together in late May. US reports that they were spotted out in mid May in Texas, which would mean they lasted about two and a half months, not three.

By most accounts Kate and Lance moved quickly, having their children meet each other nearly right away, with Kate visiting Lance’s hometown of Austin with her four year-old son, Ryder in mid May. Earlier this month Kate and Lance were seen out having lunch with Kate’s mother, Goldie Hawn. They even had brunch on Father’s Day in NY with their children and Kate’s ex husband,Chris Robinson.

According to US, Kate and Lance were at a conference last weekend for his cancer nonprofit organization, Livestrong, when they decided to call it quits:

“There was no drama or ugliness – They just decided to end things,” a source close to the couple tells Us. “There is no hatred, just sadness.”

The pair quickly became inseparable with sightings of them in Austin, New York and Los Angeles – though both dodged questions about their relationship.

In the short time they were together, the 29-year-old actress was seen with the 36-year-old cyclist at many of his races and events, including his three-day Lance Armstrong Livestrong Summit in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.

It was at the conference that Hudson and Armstrong decided to go their separate ways, a source tells Us.

To their credit, neither of them publicly acknowledged their relationship, even when directly asked about it on separate appearances on The View. Kate said, ” I try not to talk about my personal life,” which seems like a good way to handle it, especially considering the outcome.

I’m glad it’s over. I know it is awful of me to say that but I think she could do so much better. I don’t see Lance as a great person after the whole Sheryl Crow thing.

  2. Shane says:

Now she should date Tommy and he should date Pam. All dating roads lead to those two players!

  3. MSat says:

    I told ya it wouldn’t last! 😉

I just wish Kate would keep her son insulated from her revolving door of men. You don’t ever see Ryder’s dad parading the kid around with his latest skank groupie du jour. Being a single mom means making some sacrifices for your kid and one of them includes protecting him from feeling abandoned all over again.

  4. Meredith says:

About damn time. Lance is such a douche. Anyone who leaves his wife who helped him through all of that .. yeah you know the rest. Go Kate!

  5. Lauri says:

Yeah, this one was doomed from the start. They just didn’t seem right together at all.

Who would want a man who would leave his wife and small children, after she supported him through his cancer ordeal? It’s surely not easy being married to a dedicated athlete, either, with training regimens, special diets, etc. either. I just don’t see him as a “catch.” He’s more the type to avoid.

  6. jinx says:

What is she looking for? Why won’t she cut her poor little boys hair? Anyway she’s doing 4 pictures in short succession I am going to say that her career got in the way. Or not.

  7. Mr. T says:

    They’re both pretty slutty.

  8. Kaiser says:

Utterly predictable. But still, I find myself liking Kate more and more the sluttier she gets.

It’s like I’m programmed to defend all of the sluts of Hollywood. 🙂

  9. Granger says:

Did Lance really leave his wife after she supported him through cancer? Is there a possibility she left him — or that they parted mutually? I’m asking in all seriousness. I honestly don’t know the details.

Regardless, I don’t get what women see in him, but then again, I don’t get the Kate Hudson adoration either. They both seem pretty bland to me.

  10. kimmi says:

    ummm, duh!

  11. Joss says:

Oooooooh dear. Now he’ll have to go find himself another publicity item. Where to find another celeb to date, so he can introduce his bored-to-death children to her. All in front of the camera of course.

  12. Shannon says:

The fact that everyone is calling Kate a “slut” for dating lots of people (her right as a single woman) disgusts me.

  13. MissMara says:

    Sigh. 😐

Who’s next? My guess: Britney for him, and John Mayer for her…

  14. JoGirl says:

This is so not a surprise. They’re both as shallow as a kiddie pool!

  15. Jaundice Machine says:

I recently read an article about Lance written by his ex-wife in a runner’s magazine. The article is a bit dated – it was a couple weeks after he ran the Boston Marathon – but it sounds as though they have a fairly close, amicable relationship (after “years” of therapy). Then again, it was a “runner’s magazine” and as a regular contributer, she did have the “exclusive interview” (a day or two after the race, over her kitchen counter while feeding their kids breakfast) so the main focus wasn’t on them per se – but I didn’t sense too much malice between the lines.

That being said, I have no idea how that ties in with Kate Hudson. I just hope her little boy Rider hasn’t already cut his lovely hair . . .

  16. Blackalicious says:

He’s so lame. Seriously. Every time I see some frat guy wearing the yellow LiveStrong band I want to punch them in the throat.

  17. lb says:

They are both players. There was nowhere for this relationship to go. Kate is not as nice in person as she comes off in photos and movies from what I have read. It seems as though they are actually made for each other. I guess you can’t bullshit a bullshitter

  18. blaugrau says:

MSat, I agree with you. I am really sorry for the kids (his too) they got also emotionally involved, whitout asking for that, and they are too young to protect themselves from a disappoitment. Specially Ryder, he is just four!

  19. snappyfish says:

he is such a tool. Left the wife who stood by his side while he battled cancer, and then left Sheryl Crow when she got cancer.

    Classy guy

  20. gander says:

All this Free Love!!! Is it really free when it keeps being passed down from one generation to the other??? Let’s have this conversation 15 yrs from now, when her son is old enough to carry on the family traditions!!! Does anyone in that family have any morals???

  21. JonD says:

I can’t blame either party. They’re celebs and like most people who are never together can’t be held to the same standards. It does however, puzzle me that people breed under such conditions.

  22. RAN says:

Kate is considered a slut because of the way she goes from guy to guy – with the exception of her husband, she seems to change men like her undies. I agree with Msat… just my opinion, but it sure would be a classier move if she insulated her son a little more than she has. She’s the one who bad mouths her biological father for the same behavior she’s dragging her own child through.

Date all you want Kate… but save the son for the ‘special one’… bwhahahahaha! I’m a poet! 😆

  23. Nan says:

Every woman needs to stay away this man of the borderline personality disorder.

  24. Anastasia says:

Her chest….or pecs or whatever that is….always freaks me out.

  25. Natazz says:

“You don’t ever see Ryder’s dad parading the kid around with his latest skank groupie du jour.”

Well that is true he doesn’t bring casual dates around Ryder. But there hasn’t been any skank groupie du jour for a while for him. Chris has a girlfriend for a while. She goes on tour with him and Chris brings Ryder around her all the time. She was at the Father’s Day brunch with Chris as well, with Kate and one nut Willy. 8)

  26. anon69 says:

I’m pretty sure that he was the one who walked away from his marriage. I don’t think they were married when he was sick though. Regardless of that fact the guy is still a MAJOR tool in my opinion.
    Take a quick look…

  27. brianne says:

why does everybody just assume that she’s slutty for having sexual relationships? If men do the same thing they look cool, why can’t she just be a woman with needs? As long as she’s careful and see these things for what they are, what on earth is the harm? I can see about her son, maybe he shouldnt meet the suitors so soon…however people like us commenting on these sites can’t possibly know the context with which they were introduced.

  28. terese says:

WOW…so much vitriol about two obviously talented people. good for them for ending a relationship that wasn’t working. that takes more courage than most of the b.s. that is currently being flung at them for trying to live their lives.
