Dita Von Teese has a new lingerie line through Wonderbra

The fabulously sexy burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese is set to launch a new line of lingerie through Wonderbra that captures her 1940s-era style. Dita will be featured modeling the sexy panties and bras on the ad campaign and has issued a statement on her philosophy on why women wear lingerie.

Available to buy from mid September, the collection was created by Dita herself and includes three different ranges – Multi-Teese, Spot-Teese and Satin-Teese – all inspired by lingerie from the ’40s and ’50s.

‘I am very proud of the lingerie that I’ve created for Wonderbra, because it has all the beautiful detail of sexy, sensual and glamorous lingerie, but the fit is perfect to wear under your everyday clothes,’ says Dita.

‘I love it when you can go about your daily business with the knowledge that you have a little secret of your own on underneath. Lingerie shouldn’t be something you just put on for your lover; you should do it for you. It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood.’

[From Marie Claire]

It’s official: I have a huge crush on this woman! Heck yeah, I could get more than a little gay for Dita. Not only does she have great fashion sense and impeccable taste, but she’s got a great attitude about sex appeal. I’m even willing to overlook the fact that she was married to king freakazoid Marilyn Manson- call it a temporary lapse in judgment. I am definitely going to check out her lingerie when it’s available. By then, I’ll be 5 months pregnant and won’t be able to fit into anything- but maybe I’ll buy some pieces as motivation to lose the baby weight.

Note by Celebitchy: How Photoshopped does Dita’s waist look? I know that kind of figure can be sort-of achieved through extreme corsets, but I’ve seen her performance photos and her waist is not that out of proportion to the rest of her body.

    MSat, congratulations! 😛

When I first clicked on this thread and Dita’s picture came up I actually said WOW. Darling lingerie. Photoshop or not, she looks great.

  2. Kaiser says:

Allegedly, she does have a really small waist, but it does look photoshopped.

MSat- I too would go gay for Dita. Love her. She’s an artist, damn it!

  3. CoCo says:

    Ok, Dita is HOT!
I have a major girl crush on her 😀
    She’s always so glam…

  4. Chamalla says:

    LOVE her.

And such cute underpinnings!!!!! I would totally wear the dotty bra.

  5. Jenna says:

I adore her. I want her line in my drawers.

I think it is from the corsets that make her waist that way.

  6. czarina says:

She has amazing style–not just her clothes but HOW she wears them.
The Marilyn Manson thing really baffles me, I admit it.
I think they put in shadow at her waist to make it look smaller and definately overdid it.
The lingerie looks lovely though–especially the garters. (my husband would love that!)

  7. rottenkitty says:

    I think she’s brilliant.

And I’m no sure her waist is photo shopped. She has a small waist already. (I agree with MSat that she’s done some of more high-level corset training.) In the photo, her arms are raised and her body is slightly angled toward the camera. That pose alone will whittle inches from your waist.

I’m looking forward to this line. The 40s and 50s celebrated an hourglass figure. And Dita has made her career emphasizing hers. It seems like a terrific match.

  8. SeVen says:

Dita has done and continues to do a lot of Fetish Corset work. Her waist is about mid 30s from wearing them like they did back then. I love her though 😀

  9. Candyass says:

Where will her stuff be available?

  10. princess says:

Also love her. Looks like wonderbra maybe trying to remake their image and have a go at VS. I always invision the ‘panties’ from the Bridgette Jones movie when I think of Wonderbra.

  11. RReedy says:

She is glamorous with her dignity and class intact. She always looks PERFECT! Yes, her tiny waist is the real deal. I saw her in person once. Every person in the room was mesmermized by her! I am sure her lingerie will be a real hit.

  12. I choose me says:

Beautiful woman. Sexy as hell. Nobody rocks the glam look like she does. I will def be checking out her lingerie line.

  13. mae says:

@RReedy: “with her dignity and class intact”?

Did you see the video of her working over a double sided dildo in her early “career”, before she got boosted to fame for a publicity stunt marriage? Sorry if that came off catty but this woman has no more dignity than kim k, just a more original style. Not praise-worthy at all.

  14. Snowblood says:

She has dignity! Dita von Teese is an artist who stays true to her vision. There is NOthing more dignified than that.

  15. Raye says:

She reportedly has a 22 inch waistline

  16. Lola says:

I quite like Dita, my favourite quote from her is ‘ there are no ugly women, just lazy one’ since then am always giving all women a make over in my minds eye and I discovered she was right.

  17. jenifurrr says:

she’s gorgeous love her but i can’t help but see that video of her getting f@cked with a stiletto every time i see her!!!!

somebody please erase this from my brain…

  18. Osanai says:

For some reason women have convinced themselves that Dita is “classy.” She is the last holdover from that 90’s thing where stripping was considered female empowerment. They all say they’d go lesbo for her, she’s so hot, etc.

It rings hollow, because beneath it, what they really admire is her business acumen, the same way they admired Madonna in the early 90’s. Why not? She gets to have her cake and eat it too — take her clothes off for a living like a slut, but get high-end endorsements and be considered respectable.

There’s one problem; it’s not real but a media fiction aimed, once again, at naive girls. It’s all about how she’s presented. Any other girl who did what Dita does, would just be called a stripper, even if she performs a routine that is identical or better.

  19. Snowblood says:

In the latest issue of 944, Dita von Teese graces the cover and has a realy good interview. She is asked: How does someone become a glamour girl? Dita responds:

” You can’t wait for glamour to happen, you make it yourself. I never use a daily stylist, and I only use a makeup artist and hairstylist for big photo shoots. I enjoy the ritual of doing it myself and the satisfaction that comes from being the creator.

I’m just an example of a girl who wanted to be glamorous and learned to do it. It didn’t take money, it didn’t take a special talent, it just took desire and practice.

I wanted to be a glamorous showgirl. I didn’t care if I was doing it in a shoddy strip joint, or onstage in Paris at the finest cabaret for a room of celebrities. I didn’t do it because I thought I could become rich, I didn’t do it because burlesque was popular.

I did it because I loved it.”

    ~ Dita von Teese

Now, THAT is a true artist. I have nothing but respect & admiration for Dita, and for ALL the true artists of the world. They do it because they love it.

  20. I choose me says:

“It’s all about how she’s presented.”
Duh! It’s also all about perception. My perception is that she’s sexy, not just in looks but in attitude. She is sort of a modern day version of a demimonde or a Cyprian and she intrigues me. That’s all I require from my celebrity crushes really, that they intrigue me.

    Hear, hear Snow.

  21. Aud says:

I love Dita. I’d be gay for her!

  22. Dingles says:

I’m pretty sure her waist is really that small. I think I read somewhere that she’s been wearing corsets on a regular basis since like age 14 or something crazy like that.

  23. Nan says:

The whole thing is photoshopped. Everything is today. I love the fact that this one doesn’t hesitate to sue people’s asses if they try to screw her over. What a great business woman she is.

  24. javagirl1 says:

@ Osanai…the empowerment from stripping is still alive and well in the 2000’s, and taking your clothes off does not make you a slut. Its the one power women have over men in my opinion.

  25. vdantev says:

Ever notice how none of these articles make mention of her extensive adult bondage / fetish career ?

  26. Carrie says:

So she’s into bondage: so what? She’s still fabulous!

  27. vdantev says:

I wasn’t trying to assess her career or preferences whatever, just the media’s reaction to it- that of absurd willful ignorance.

  28. Anne says:

She’s not photoshopped but she has had ribs removed. To me her waist looks gross and freakish.

  29. Snowblood says:

Ribs removed? Please. You’re not serious, are you? I had a 24 inch waist for years, (now it’s 29, but if I took better care of myself I’m sure I could whittle it back down) and I neither wore a corset nor had ribs removed, nor even worked out on the regular.

You know – Some women just get stoked genetically with a tiny waist. And I wonder if bitches really DO get “ribs removed,” is that even a real cosmetic surgery procedure or is it just urban legend?

  30. Kat says:

The person at Wonderbra, who had the great idea to sign her for this project, deserves a big raise.

  31. Christina X says:

    I like Dita Von Teese.

And god, I wished I had her body. It’s perfect.

  32. Megan says:

She wears corsets a lot, so I’m guessing that IS her real waistline. I like her style, although I don’t think she’s that beautiful. But she is a refreshingly different type of woman in the public eye. You can even see some belly fat. I thought belly fat was extinct in Hollywood! It’s good to see.

  33. Snowblood says:

(From 944 magazine’s interview of Dita von Teese, August 2008 issue, written by Kira Coplin)

Who’s the real Dita von Teese/

” I’ve created a visual image, but my personality has always remained unchanged because I figured out that my performance is best when I’m not pretending to be someone I’m not.

I make sure that onstage, I am me and that I’m havibg fun. I don’t have an alter ego that I need to “turn on” before I get up there.

(Snowblood interjects: And TAKE NOTE, hidie-poo Hater types, always changing your screennames or pretending to be someone you aren’t! O.K., back to Dita…)

But then again, in real life, I am quite shy and I certainly wouldn’t be exposing my body while dancing on a tabletop in a bar or something. I’m not an exhibitionist. I understand what it is to be a performer. ”

~ Dita von Teese, interview from Aug. ’08 issue of 944 magazine

  34. Ron says:

She incredibly sexy because she is built like a woman. Not a girl. Not a model. When women get too thin, they lose the beauty of the curves of their body. IMHO.

  35. mae says:

snowblood has a score to settle. haha.

  36. Snowblood says:

@ Mae – “Snowblood has a score to settle.”

I do? Really? With whom, and what is this “score?” Got something you want to share with us all here, Mae? Don’t be shy, speak up, woman! What’s on your mind?

  37. Christina X says:

I just like that pale women are getting more attention now.

    See? Pale isn’t gross!

  38. Snowblood says:

No, Christina, you’re right – Pale is gorgeous, too, just like pure dark skin – rare, exquisite, beautiful – and to be tattoo-free on top of having that carefully-tended, sun-free skin is a sort of post-modern superficial badge of honour, in a weird and narrow-minded sort of fashion-elitist way.

(Snowblood’s so fukkin’ relieved she never hopped onto the cool kids’ tattoo bandwagon back in the grunge-tastic nineties!)

Dita’s beautiful. That’s all I can say, at this point. Beautiful. Inside and out.

  39. brent says:

WoW! now that sexy, all with a look. No wonder young men use to put picture like her on their plane in ww2. 8)

  40. Paulette says:

I don’t get the fascination with this woman. She’s pretty, but she’s an ex porn star in 40s style clothing – what’s the big deal?

She’s rumored to love coke, she’s admitted to breast implants, and she’s admitted to starving herself thin before shows. She’s a typical starlet except for the retro look.

  41. Anne says:

Her proportions are completely out of balance, I think the waist 10 inches smaller than the hips and chest looks natural, not 15 inches less, that looks freaky. And, yes, people do get ribs removed.

  42. Aspen says:

I think she’s totally hot. I also find her to be a total moral reprobate.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

She’s hot and the lingerie is hot, and I fully intend to buy some. I’ve got big hips, big boobs (that I did not purchase), and a small waist, too. It’s about time someone started making pretty things for girls like me.

You know they don’t even MAKE bras my size at VS except the big ugly support ones? If it’s lacy and attractive…they don’t have it in my size. The world was made for right-handed people and small-chested women. This woman and her “unnatural” figure look just. like. me. (only I have stretch marks and need candlelight to simulate the air brushing).

I don’t care if she screwed a football team using farm equipment…I still like the underwear and am GRATEFUL to see a body shape like that advertising some.

  43. Christina X says:

I think she has THE perfect body. None of this waif Agyness Deyn crap.

I wear a DD cup and I can’t find any attractive bras for my size anywhere. All of them offer little support and have industrial strength straps and come in ugly colors. Yeck.

  44. Elizabeth says:

“Dita” and “Catherine D’Lish” design her costumes. Now she’s designing lingerie. I’m sure it will be stunning.

“Coco-de-mer.com” and “SecretinLace.com” also offer sexy lingerie.

    Enjoy!

  45. Peanut says:

I’m not here to comment on the model but, as a medical professional, I just wanted to clarify that people do NOT get ribs removed. Having ribs removed would be seriously detrimental to a person’s health and safety of vital organs. There is no surgeon known who would remove a person’s ribs and be able to keep his license. Rib removal is urban legend material. However, with careful corestry a woman can whittle down her waist size over time, but it takes time and patience. The corset slowly molds the waistline and shapes the floating ribs (the last few ribs at the bottom of the rib cage that are free-floating, not attached to the spinal column) inward along with the waist and intestines in that area. Over time the extra small corsets reshape the woman’s middle section, giving it that wasp waist. No ribs are removed. 🙂

  46. She definately needs a tan!
That will never change i’m affraid

    Better is better
