Pierce Brosnan wants to warm up your biscuits

Unfortunately, there is no Pierce Brosnan news to go along with these fabulous photos. Pierce was out and about in New York City yesterday, filming I Don’t Know How She Does It, a comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Olivia Munn and Kelsey Grammer, amongst others. Pierce seems like the odd man out in that pile of mediocrity, which got me to thinking…

Just when did my opinion of Pierce grow to my current view of him? It was at some point in the last few years, all of a sudden I just started thinking he was The Man. I even watched The Ghost Writer (the Polanski film, I know, I know), and I can’t even describe how excellent Pierce was in it. It was one of the best performances of his career. I think once Pierce left the James Bond franchise, he just stopped caring about pleasing everybody and decided to do interesting work.

Beyond the career achievements – and this hopefully brief foray into SJP comedies (ugh) – I have to say, Pierce has never looked better. It’s freezing cold in New York, and Pierce is a one-man biscuit furnace. Sigh… now I’m depressed that no one ever requests him for Hot Guy Friday.

Here are some pics of Sarah Jessica Parker too – um, do you think she could have fixed her hair for the film?

    mmm…Biscuits…

He was quite the charmer as James Bond – the movies he was in were horrible, save for Goldeneye, but I quite liked him.

And yes, I saw the Ghost Writer too, and Polanski or not, it’s a very good movie.

  2. machiavelli says:

    drooooooooooooool………… le sigh!
I can’t feel my legs. Made my day! THANK YOU!!! 😉

  3. Canuck says:

Let me be the first to officially request a hot guy Bond Friday.

  4. Maud says:

She’s eating carbs! He’s just too wonderful!! Actually, love them both.

  5. brin says:

    Pierce for HGF!!!!!

  6. Dee says:

He will always be the dapper Remington Steele to me…

  7. Nancy says:

I like him even more cause he loves his beautiful plus sized wife!

  8. Rita says:

I decided he had the right stuff by the way he conducted himself when he lost his wife.

  9. Squirrel says:

Actually did think of asking for him to be in HGF, also because he does not take himself too seriously (poor bloke was terrible at singing in Mama Mia but fantastic neverless) and has a real, life-size wife whom he loves and protects among harsh media criticism for her shape. Before you go ‘yeah, nomination in hindsight…’ here’s another one (maybe less likely) who also could grace a HGF lineup: Mads Mikkelsen, who also played in Bond. Not poster-boy handsome, but there’s definitely something there….. 🙂

  10. rkintn says:

Pierce can warm up whatever he feels like! Another vote for him on HGF. You know the thing I like about him most…he likes his woman no matter what size she is. *swoon* LOVE HIM!

  11. Meaux says:

He was great in a movie called “Evelyn”. I think he directed it as well. His looks wrapped up in his Irish accent are dreamy. He’s giving Gabriel Byrne a run for his money these days.

  12. searching4grace says:

i’ll request him! i’ve loved him since he played the sleazy guy in The mirror has two faces and the debonair guy in the remake of The Thomas Crowne Affair! he’s got bedroom eyes and that voice. SIGH.

  13. serena says:

ohhh pierce, I just love him!

  14. EdithP says:

Consider my biscuits warmed! One movie I loved him in was Mrs. Doubtfire, he was lovely getting hit in the head with fruit.

  15. Quest says:

I loved him ever since Remington Steel…gorgeous hunk of a man. Even when he let himself go, you can still get some humor out of it. He is absolutely yummy.

  16. Jamie says:

He’s a cool guy. He was excellent in “The Ghost” but I still wish I hadn’t given Polanksi money to watch that film.

  17. Mollyb says:

I’m with you, Nancy. Not only does his beautiful wife rock her curves, in every candid shot I’ve seen of them, he can’t keep his hands of her!

  18. L says:

    Mmmmm Hot Bond Friday.

  19. sarahk says:

Dude, now *I* feel bad about never requesting him. Consider this a formal request…although an across the board Bond Hot Guy Friday would be lovely, too.

  20. womanfromthenorth says:

Oh My MY … what a way to start my morning. Thanks….. he looks great

    wftn 😉

  21. AnnieD says:

I, too, adore him for his steadfast love of his plus-size wife in a town obsessed with stick thin bodies. Now that’s sexy!

  22. Hautie says:

I really liked him in “Laws of Attraction” with Julianne Moore.

I can not name how many times I have watched it since it started on rotation on TBS.

But he is aging so nicely without losing his mind. No crazy clothes or styles. Just staying pretty and well groomed.

But would it kill SJP to do her dang roots? She is in her mid 40’s trying to rock the 6 inch long roots. And it is not working. On anyone.

Keep that hair highlighted and curly. It makes you look much much younger.

  23. OtherChris says:

He seems like such a good guy, doesn’t he?

  24. scout says:

I love him! Always have and always will! Totally a class act in all respects. As for his looks, he is another on that “like a fine wine, he gets better with age!”

I never made a request for Hot Guy Friday, but if I did, this would be one of them!

  25. HRH says:

    He is perfection. Remington Steele!!!!!!

  26. W.O.M. says:

I have loved Pierce since his Remington Steele days. Oh, that man could feather his hair like no other.

Please HGF him for all it’s worth. Rwoar!

  27. pebbles says:

Long-time love of Pierce since Remington Steele days. Always seemed like a class act too.

  28. Canuck says:

Can we add some “those who would make a good Bond” to the Bond HGF? You could get your fix of Clive that way too.

  29. Obvious says:

i love him. but i’m sorry his looking eternally constipated in mama mia-and he was only lip syncing during the movie! i hate to think about hat he looked like in studio. it kinda killed a bit of my love for him. however a 007 marathon of his movies will fix that!

  30. Kaiser says:

Thanks for all of of the Hot Guy Friday feedback! Yes, I will definitely include Pierce on this week’s HGF. But I am no longer doing theme weeks. Sorry, peeps.

But if you want to suggest Daniel Craig, I wouldn’t stop you.

  31. Justaposter says:

Oh my.. I almost forgot just how delish he truly is.

  32. sickofit says:

always loved him, he is just so cool and goodlooking…

  33. jen34 says:

He does seem like a totally decent guy, doesn’t he? He even narrates some Thomas the Tank Engine episodes. Sweet and gorgeous. Definitely Hot Guy material.

  34. Sammie says:

Everyone knows I’m just waiting on him to leave his wife! Even my boss knows, if Pierce calls, I’m outta here at the drop of a hat. I prefer him older and not as “polished” as he was in the Bond films. And the love scene on the stairs in “Thomas Crowne Affair”….whoooo! Hot stuff! And PLEASE…put him in Hot Guy Friday!

  35. Nanea says:

PB is a very decent guy, doesn’t take his fame too seriously, at least that’s the way I encountered him ages ago when he was filming ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ in the area where I live. I often saw him and Keely out and about, getting groceries or the newspaper just like everyone else and saying ‘hi’ to his neighbors, making smalltalk in the stores.

Another vote for PB for HGF, and I never suggested him because he somehow had fallen off my radar.

  36. Canuck says:

Ok, no themes… but I’d like to request Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig and David Niven who played Bond in Casino Royale when it was a spoof. If we could get photos of them when they were starring in a huge franchise and not over 50, that would be nice too. 😉

  37. tiki says:

the man is a class act all the way. he has a self-deprecating wit that is utterly swoon-inducing. years ago he described his name as sounding like a recipe direction–‘pierce brosnan, place brosnan in pan, roast at 350 for one hour.’ sheer perfection.

  38. lola says:

Hot Bond Friday is the best idea anyone has ever had. Bring it.

  39. grrrl_75 says:

I’ll definitely throw in my vote for Hot Guy Friday, I’ve been sighing over Brosnan since Remington Steele. And I love that he’s been with the same woman all these years with no trash talk (that I’ve heard, anyway). Fidelity is sexy.

  40. Lynne says:

Always loved him too! Consider this a formal request!!

  41. Sassy says:

He’s so awesome. And beautiful. And awesome. And beautiful. And… you get the picture. 😉

  42. Ari says:

I love PB he IS the man.

I still will watch Dante’s Peak simply because he is in it lol

And let’s not forget The Thomas Crown Affair – my absolute favorite movie.

  43. Ashley says:

    Consider him REQUESTED x43

  44. therealjoanhalloway says:

Pierce needs to be the header for HGF, that man has been rockin’ it since Remington Steele!!

  45. Alexa says:

I don’t see many movies . . . so this may seem strange – I noticed how awesome he was in Mrs. Doubtfire.

  46. Cheyenne says:

He’s my third favorite Bond after Connery and Moore.

As for SJP, nothing she does to herself is going to save her from looking like Seattle Slew.

  47. DeeDee says:

HOT GUY FRIDAY please Kaiser! He can warm my biscuits anytime! I loved him in The Thomas Crown Affair. Sooo sexy.

    And Tom Cruise for HGF.

  48. april says:

yeah he is the narrarator on my sons thomas the tank engine dvd

  49. anons says:

i love him. always have, always will.

  50. JenJen says:

He was great in Evelyn, what a fine man!
Sarah eats carbs, what’s her secret?

  51. clorismetchum says:

if this man wanted to warm up my biscuits, i’d just bend over and let him. he could warm ’em, butter ’em, dip ’em in syrup….WHATEVER. MY BISCUITS ARE YOURS.
    i’m all titillated now…

  52. mediadogma says:

    Yes! Bond Hot Guy Friday!

  53. Ruffian9 says:

    Remington Steele!

  54. paisleydog says:

Love him! Catch Tailor of Panama. He plays a very good smarmy bad guy. Thomas Crown Affair, love him! Just watched Shattered, bad guy with nice twist. Let’s see him headlining HGF!

  55. Megatrona says:

I agree about the wife thing, that made me love him so much too, his wife is very ++++++and he adores her, I find that fantastic specially in Hollywood

  56. Yasmine says:

Yeah, he was exceptional in the Ghost Writer. Didn’t wanna give Polanski my moola, so I waited till it came out on DVD and rented it. That way on the rental place made the profit. And some posters here recommending HGF bond-version are on to something! Count me my request too!

  57. Wens says:

I’ll have him for hot guy friday please….. he’s a very sexy older man – yummmmm

  58. Liana says:

Pierce Brosnan is appealing to me because he is a man who clearly adores his wife. I find fidelity sexy.

  59. Lisa says:

    Pierce is THE MAN.
