Yesterday, there was a big dinner held by Vogue Paris, in honor of Carine Roitfeld. Fashion girls Jessica Alba, Diane Kruger and Kate Moss were all there. Alba and Kruger both wore Gucci, and both looked very different. I completely and totally adore this grey-blue dress on Alba, honestly. This is one of the best dresses she’s ever worn, right up there with the Versace she wore to the 2006 Oscars. Alba can be hit-or-miss – I get the feeling that she still isn’t sure what silhouettes look best on her, and she usually has a color problem – in that she doesn’t wear a ton of color on red carpets. But I LOVE this dress on her. Also, since I’m getting grandiose, I just wanted to point out one of the finest examples of Alba Bitchface EVER. This is how Alba looks when she gets to sit next to Kate Moss:
As for Diane – people are saying this dress is Gucci, so I’ll buy it. To me it looks too fussy to be Gucci, but whatever. This is definitely her style – Diane likes dresses with lots of detailing, which can get very fussy. Somehow, it usually works on her, though. I like this dress, but I don’t love it.

That’s the nicest I’ve seen Jessica Alba look in a long time. The cut of the dress is perfect for her, and the whole thing looks rich, as in decadent dessert rich. Bravo!

I don’t like Diane Kruger in general, but wow, this dress is hideous. It makes her gain 20 pounds in all the wrong places and is just a mess in general. I love Jessica’s dress though and it works well with her figure, but not with her colouring, in my opinion. Her skin tone and that particular blue-grey just clash. Imagine the same dress in a copper tone and it would be true perfection. But hey, definitely better than a lot of the stuff she wears on red carpets.
They both look great in their own right but I’m fascinated at the originality in Diane’s dress. It’s a bit too “tribal Steinway” but very unique.

I think Jessica Alba looks gorgeous – she definitely outshines Krueger (AND Moss) by a mile here.
Jessica Alba definitely looks better. That’s a lovely, feminine dress. I like Diane Kruger, but that harsh dress looks like it belongs on a robot in a sci-fi film or something.

Begrudgingly, the award goes to alba. For Krueger’s part, the Gucci is better than the Chanel; but that’s not saying much.
They both look stunning in totally different ways! Dianne seems to be able to carry off much more creative looks so easily, but the Alba’s dress is flawless in a classic way. Well done, ladies!

I honestly do not think Alba will ever be able to top how amazing she looked at the 2006 Oscars. She looked amazing and with her style since then, she has proved we may never see her look so elegant again.
Love Diane’s. I love the black and gold and art deco detailing and descending steps on the dress. she’s been killing it with the shoes lately too.

Oh, hands down the Kruger one is better. She totally works it with hair and makeup and sans accessories. Even the shoes are awesome.
Jessica looks great. Diane Kruger not so much. It’s an okay dress, just not really hitting her in right way. Looks like a cardboard cut out.
I think Dianne looks beautiful but Alba knocks it out of the park-she looks awesome…best I’ve seen her in so long!
Dress goes to Alba. However, effortless fashion, makeup, relax “this is the way you do it” style goes to Krueger almost always (including now). D.K. always seems to look born in it and Alba seems to often let the fashion wear her vs. her wearing the fashion.

Dress Alba. But does Alba’s face look tight? I hope not – girls in their 20s should not be messing with their faces!!!! I thought it was funny how uptight and overdone Alba looked when next to Moss tho – Moss looks very relaxed, natural smile, not body bronzer. She looks effortless, which is ultimately cooler.

Jessica looks beautiful I love the dress and the haircut, very polished. The shoes not so much. And the other chick looks like she has a gladiator armor on. And Kate is overly tanned I think she going for the Cameron Diaz leathery look.

Alba looks pretty-and she is a natural beauty for sure-but she hasn’t found her look yet. she always looks like she’s playing dress up to me-unless she is out and about on the street.
I almost think a more bohemian flair [not all out, just a touch] would suit her in general. i know she is rather uptight, but her beauty is more exotic and relaxed-you know, polynesian get me a coconut drink exotic. so she should add to that energy IMO with a bit of relaxed style and flair. that would be more effortless.
diane looks beautiful but too thin. like today’s dress on her better than yesterday’s, but in general she tends to overdress.

Neither. Those dresses look far better on taller women. Both girls look like they have been eaten alive by the dress. Gucci is only for professionals.

Diane’s dress has more OOmph! She’s just got it going on! Alba’s look is plain (no noticeable jewelry)and her hairstyle and haircolor is really aging.
