Denise Richards’ reality show canceled

It’s been rumored for the last couple months that Denise Richards’ beyond-craptastic reality show Denise Richards: It’s Complicated was going to be summarily dismissed. And just like Denise herself, the show has been kicked to the curb. Viewers seemed to find a lot of Richards’ behavior offensive: her constant (severe) cursing – including around her young daughters, the keeping of far too many pets in her home, and her accusing ex-husband Charlie Sheen of molesting their daughters, a charge that was seen as a last-ditch attempt at television ratings.

Such terrible character attributes would make you think that E! canceled the show because they shouldn’t indulge such a bad person like Denise/exploit the people who are stuck with her. But it seems that it’s just about ratings.

It was complicated, and now it’s over: E! has reportedly canceled Denise Richards’ reality show after low ratings.

“The numbers started out pretty good – just over 1.5 million tuned in for the premiere episode,” a source told The Insider yesterday. “But the audience has dropped off. ”

Denise also received flack from viewers over her potty-mouthed ways around her children on It’s Complicated. Sam and Lola’s appearances on the show were hotly contested by ex-husband Charlie Sheen in court last year.

“Viewers were disgusted that a mother of two young girls would use such foul language,” the source adds. Along with her long-running custody battles with Charlie, other bad showings included Denise confronting an editor over her tabloid image and having a seemingly forced fun girls’ nighs [sic] out.

[From OK! Magazine]

A little while ago Denise bitched about how her young daughters were in therapy. Which is actually one of the few things I’ll give her credit for. We’ve often noted how the poor kids always look completely miserable – not little kid cranky, but utterly despondent – in every single photo we’ve ever seen of the two. Maybe now Denise can dial down the crazy a few notches. And spend a bit more time in family therapy and a bit less time in the courtroom.

Here’s Denise taking a stroll with her dad in Malibu on June 22nd. Fame notes that she’s “looking a bit heavier that usual.” Images thanks to Fame.

    Thanks God.

  2. Mr. T says:

It was crap. The funny thing is TV is 99.9% crap now anyways. This show, which I never watched, must have been pretty pathetic to get dumped.

  3. Kaiser says:

I usually avoid Denise threads like the plague, but I have to admit, I’m going to miss the show. I caught a marathon one lazy Saturday and I enjoyed myself. I like how crude and offensive Denise is – that episode where she talked about “waxing the bush” was hilarious.

  4. Syko says:

What a shame, I never saw it.

  5. ri23 says:

Couldn’t happen to a classier gal.

  6. Linda says:

No…please say it isn’t so…how could this happen?????? Denise has such talent and she’s so interesting and warm and lovable…(this is meant as extreme sarcasm)

I couldn’t understand why any network anywhere in this world would give this tramp a show – did they really think that anyone would want to watch her??

The only good thing that comes out of this is maybe Denise gets a small clue on how universally she is despised as a human being.

  7. Alecto says:

    Well said Linda.
Hopefully we can stop rewarding some people for being complete phsyco’s. Like by taking away their tv shows and attention.

  8. Ron says:

How will she whore herself and her children out for money next? I tell you a 40 million dollar settlement only goes so far these days….

  9. A.J. says:

And nothing of value was lost.

  10. KERRI says:

The show would have been a hit if Charlie Sheene made a guest appearance.

  11. Lily Rose says:

I have to admit I watched the show once or twice but was not a fan. There was something about her – I think this article hit the nail on the head – the truck driver mouth and the nasty animals all over the place. She just wasn’t very likable to me. Funny thing is – I actually liked her Dad a lot!

  12. Lalala says:

she’s awful and im glad we no longer will flip around the channels and see that awful show!

  13. DogRunner says:

I only watched it because I enjoyed the animals (especially the pet pig) and her dad.

  14. czarina says:

Never saw the show. Can’t say I feel I’ve missed out on a life-altering experience.
Are her legs really big, or is that just a very bad picture (1st one)?

  15. I choose me says:

I’ll admit it. I watched a few episodes and the girls didn’t seem anyway near as miserable as they do in photos. And believe it or not she did seem likeable every now and then. Then of course she would ruin my temp good will towards her, like when she told her friends who were urging her to date a nice, normal guy that for her, dating a rock star or a movie star WAS normal. I really like her dad though. He seems like a stand-up guy.

That said, I’m not surprised the show was cancelled.

  16. Blanche says:

Oh, I hope this isn’t true. I won’t be able to make it without her TV show.

  17. Mme X says:

    good!

  18. Moore says:

It probably sucks so bad to have a show all about yourself and then have it canceled cause its boring.

  19. vdantev says:

    *and there was much rejoicing*

  20. Lola says:

Remember that show ‘passions’? Yep, that is how bad this one was. Why do unrecognisable people ever imagine anyone wants to see how they go about their lives.

  21. Cowbell says:

I am SHOCKED just SHOCKED by this.

I did watch one or two episodes. I thought she was an utter asshat after a blind date where she was convinced the dude had to be gay because he told her that he like Matt Dillon in Wild Things. That was outrageous to Miss Richards. She told her friend that most guys say that they like her and Neve getting it on so by this dude like Matt Dillon, he had to be gay. Of course.

  22. ThatBKChick says:

    Like her ratings…((((((CRICKETS)))))).

  23. Carrie says:

Was thinking exactly the same czarina: her legs look terrible in those photos.

  24. Kat says:

Maybe it will be picked up by FOX, don’t they like this kind of crap.

  25. Ruby says:

Kirsty Alley-in-waiting, methinks. Just you wait and see.
I see self-help books and scientology in your future…

  26. Shane says:

Denise and Charlie’s kids looked “not a little cranky, but utterly despondent in every picture”. Thank you for mentioning that again. Those kids need rescueing by Child Protective Services.

  27. Kylie says:

At least its better than Living Lohan or that Kardashian show. Those girls are so rude and just foul!
I enjoyed watching Denise. Yeah, its a brainless show but sometimes thats all I want. That said though you could tell it was scripted etc but still, I thought it was better than the other shows.
    and..
There is nothing wrong with having heaps of animals. I have 4 dogs and 3 cats and would have more if I could.
And yes, all of them are totally house trained.

  28. Skank Basher says:

ri23: Right-on, baby, right-on! Denise your undeserved “15 minutes” are up. Those poor kids! Grandpa Sheen, please keep an eye on your grandaughters and make sure that crazy hoho doesn’t destroy them, body and soul. 😐

  29. chaz says:

It was so “complicated” that i guess the average viewer couldn’t follow the ornate plot lines of the show. like the episode where she tries to squeeze her fat ass into her jeans. Also, is it me , or can you actually see the existence of satan in her crazy eyes? 😈

  30. Chuck says:

Denise, if you read this I’d like you to know that I’ve watched a lot of crap on “E”, and I have to say, I really liked you show which actually surprised me. It’s so easy for everyone to jump on the bandwagon to bash, “Denise Richards – Bad Girl”, but I really think that your show reflected how a lot of people can be misperceived by the media because of their past. I don’t know the whole story between you and Charlie, but truth is; if you’re really trying to live in the moment?, it doesn’t matter! You have the right to make a living and show your side of the story. If people really look at you, and I mean really look at you, they’d see an exceptionally compassionate person, who loves animals and her girls, and okay – a few other things too, but hey, you human. Perhaps it’s those who are exceptionally sensitive that become the most defensive, there by coming across as rude, inconsiderate or offensive. I’ll end by saying, you have an amazing laugh and wonderful family. Good luck, but I’m sure that eventually all will be good and great things will come your way regardless. And the hell with anyone else that says different!

  31. ginger says:

Sad when one who thinks her poop doesn’t stink is forced to face the fact that she is a control freak hoping to turn her daughters against their own father, has no future in hollywood and hasn’t come even close to accepting this fact.
TEAM CHARLIE ALL THE WAY! At least he isn’t fake, talentless, and accusing Denise of things so far from the truth it makes us all sick!

  32. Judy says:

I love 2 1/2 men. I like Charlie as an actor but I bet he is hell on wheels to live with. But anyone that gets involved with him Knows what he is like. I will always believe she married him and popped those 2 kids out to ensure her future and thought she would become a big star. She has abused the court system for her own greed and hate and it is time to get her off the tube and in a shrinks office. I feel for those kids. She wnts them to hate their father and that is wrong and I hope she pays for it big time. There is something very wrong with this woman.

  33. Brady says:

I heard that this show made the Roseanne Barr reality show look good!
