Dianna Agron in Vivienne Westwood: gorgeous or zzzzz…?

fp_6728770_rij_number_four_16_57

These are photos from last night’s premiere of I Am Number Four, a film I couldn’t care less about. I guess it’s supposed to be the new X-Men/Twilight thing? Meh. I probably don’t care about it much because although there is some decent gossip surrounding this junk, the celebrities involved barely register at all. Anyway, Dianna Agron (who I always think is “Diana Argon” when spelling her name) is one of the stars of the film. You may know her as — in Glee (whatever). She’s pretty, but bland. She wore this Vivienne Westwood number that… well, I would have enjoyed it on Helena Bonham Carter. On an average-pretty blonde Glee girl, the whole effect is just… oatmeal.

And here’s her boyfriend, Alex Pettyfer, the star of I Am Number Four. In my mind, he’s like the Budget Sparkles. And according to Lainey, he’s also a total jag. Meh.

She’s gorgeous-but the dress completely washes her out.

  2. renai(jrt) says:

not bad………maybe a nude shoe… the hemline is bulky and makes her calves look large.

  3. brin says:

zzzzzz for the dress and the movie.

  4. Kelbees says:

Not a good dress on someone her age, seems to age her about ten years.

  5. tanguerita says:

i absolutely love this dress and her shoes.

  6. Jess says:

    I like it.
I’m taking the whole “he’s a jag” with a grain of salt. In all the interviews, he sounds nothing less than nice and sincere. Enjoyed the book, so I’ll see the movie.

  7. Hollz says:

Gah! Someone needs to show this woman the color wheel! NO MORE NUDES!!

  8. Audrey says:

It is boring and she LOOKS boring. But, I will say, as much as I’m not a fan of the dress, it goes well with those awesome shoes.

  9. Bella Mosley says:

    ZZZZZzzzzzz

  10. Jane says:

I wonder how such a seemingly sweet girl got caught up with such a raging jag-off.

His jag-off status isn’t really just “rumors” either. Everyone knows it.

  11. Kbomb says:

TOTALLY agree with 1,3,4,7,8. That was my immediate thought when I saw the pic. She is so cute and young – she should be wearing something more flirty. She has her whole life to wear boring mid calf dresses. The one thing that is starting to bug me on Glee – she always sounds like she has a terrible sinus cold. It’s starting to drive me as bonkers as Lea Michelle.

  12. Hollowdoll says:

@Jess I agree. That’s the first time I’ve heard he was a douche. I have learned to take anything Lainey says with a huge grain of salt. The dress is nice. It would have been better in another color.

  13. Lane says:

Why does she dress 10 years older than she is. the outfit is great for someone in their 30’s and who is slightly taller.

    She is so bland.

  14. Babalon says:

The dress would be stunning were it knee-length and another color. Any color – but this one.

  15. GeekChic says:

Dianna is such a pretty girl, and I think she’s one of those (lucky) girls who looks better with minimal or just very natural-looking makeup. Her red carpet looks always seem a bit off to me somehow, and I think it often comes down to the makeup. She’s so naturally pretty that she just doesn’t need that much crap on her face.

  16. Lane says:

@Jess the smarter actor do their best not to come off like douches.

I was into Alex 3-4 years ago but over the last couple of years he’s just rubbed me wrong.

  17. sasa says:

She tends to wear dresses that are pretty but require a stronger presence to pull of. I thought the same about her GG blue Channel.
    Imagine this on Cate Blanchett.

  18. emine says:

she reminds me of a younger Britney Spears and i also think the dress colour washes her out

  19. Jane says:

@Hollowdoll, that didn’t come from Lainey, it came straight from The Hollywood Reporter.

  20. Vi says:

i think she’s so pretty and looks great here. unfortunately i don’t want to see this movie or glee so i’m going to have to wait to see what i think of her acting skillz

  21. Embee says:

I think she looks absolutely lovely.

  22. lucy2 says:

GeekChic, I completely agree. She is very pretty, but all made up for red carpets she never looks that good. Natural makeup and more youthful dresses, stat! This dress is OK but boring, and the whole look definitely ages her.

  23. jackie says:

@ 19 yes you are right, she was just reporting it from THR.

And I also found another article at Gawker that was actually referring to him as a Diva, and used Divo – so the boy is getting a bad rep for being a douche.

He totally gives me Ryan Phillipe vibes.

  24. Emmy says:

She’s beautiful, I think she would look good in anything. I don’t find her bland. I have a feeling she’s going to be easy prey for the bloggers because she’s blonde, gorgeous and talented.

That said, I dislike the length of the dress.

  25. Ron says:

I love anyone who gets Westwood.

  26. Stef says:

h my god he is SO much hotter than Sparkles. And he has no Twilight Drama attached to his name!

  27. Lentil says:

Between her blog – that’s embarrassing to admit, but I get really bored at work, okay? – and her interviews, she strikes me as quite down-to-earth and smart rather than bland.

I am losing respect for her with that douche boyfriend, though.

  28. Riley says:

    tres jolie…

  29. KitchenDancer says:

    Miss.

She looks young, pretty and fresh when all you see is her face, but zooming out and adding the dress is unfortunately matronly!

  30. gabs says:

She is boring. He is a douchebag. The film looks predictable and lame with good special effects and thats all. Maybe a good popcorn movie but forgettable overall.

Oh and it didnt come from lainey. It was the hollywood reporter. Lainey was passing it on. Other sites mentioned hes a controlling bf because he got dianna to fire her manager and hire his instead. Just for that I dont like her now

  31. seri says:

As a skinny person myself, i really like that her arms and legs look better than mine. Boniness just makes me sad
    🙁
and the dress isn’t precisely “youth” and could use a little work, but it’s overall quite soft and pretty, really.

  32. Katie says:

She is lovely. The outfit is fine, but not stunning. She does dress so demure a lot that it kind of looks frumpy at time. But she will be beautiful in anything she wears.

I hope she does more stuff soon b/c at some point the world is going to notice that Glee is really stupid now. It started out great and by the time it returned from hiatus halfway through the 1st season it started to go downhill and keeps getting dumber.

  33. kelbear says:

Love the shoes and the dress can go.

  34. Anti-icon says:

It is pretty, but it looks nothing like Vivienne Westwood — isn’t she usually leather and whips?
    Dianna Agron looks beautiful.

  35. Jess says:

@27- Just checked out her blog. Very interesting stuff. Down-to-earth & smart, I agree.

  36. Macheath says:

    @24 Emmy

Yes, because, historically, blonde gorgeous and talented people have been the most marginalised in society.

  37. beth says:

    greek goddesslike.

  38. futureperfect says:

thanks vivienne westwood for the return of the sheet dress. what’s with all of the deconstructed togas recently? talk about a reboot…

  39. jennykate says:

I think she is stunning. The dress isn’t so great and she isn’t spray tanned to hell like so many actresses are, but she still looks really good here.
I see lots of actresses now trying to pull of the pale skin look & can’t do it as well as she can.

  40. Isa says:

Well, it’s a classy looking dress but it really doesn’t do much for her. I’m of the opinion that only darker skinned women should wear lighter shade nudes. They can look decent with a tan.

I’m not saying that she should get a tan, just wear colors that are more flattering. She has a beautiful complexion and face. I’ve never noticed how pretty she is until now. She looks similiar to Emma Robberts.

I love her shoes, but probably would’ve saved them for something other than a redcarpet event.

  41. Alaska says:

She’s beautiful, but I just don’t love that color on her. Like others said, it washes her out. I’d love to see a hot pink!

  42. jane16 says:

I think she looks gorgeous here. A retro look, makes me think Paris in the ’60s or ’70s, Catherine Deneuve.

  43. Kim says:

Gorgeous dress, hair, makeup and face! She is the prettiest young star out there today by far.

LOVE that she covers herself and doesnt dress in skimpy outfits like alot of young (and old) stars do.

Halle Berry could take a clue from her on how to dress age appropriate.

  44. Shy says:

Ha-ha…. I did it too. For months in my mind I was spelling her name as Dianna ARgon. And only one time I noticed that it’s AGron.

It’s suits better with Argon. It sounds better. And I don’t understand why she has two N in her Diana name.

  45. sammib says:

Awesome dress on a very pretty but bland girl. I like it best when Pam Anderson wears Westwood – crazy but more true to what Westwood is about..

  46. Henriette says:

That dress is too “old” for her. It’s better suited to a 45 year-old.

  47. gobo says:

I like the dress, love the shoes, loath the boyf.

  48. crazydaisy says:

Crazy, wax-like Vulcan/Leprechaun ears on the BF. Somehow, they totally match Dianna’s dress.

Two pretty people, let’s see where they go.

  49. Vindy says:

She’s average looking!? Whoever wrote this must need an eye check up. Dianna Agron is absolutely stunning. She is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood to come along in a long time. Doesn’t have huge boobs and whatnot, but it doesn’t matter. Her face is perfection. This dress may not be so good, but she certainly is.
