I really dislike doing Charlie Sheen stories at this point, because the guy says and does so many things that it’s hard to cover it all. I like to keep up and mention all the stories on a celebrity when we cover them, but it’s impossible with crazy ass Charlie. He has creatively insane ways of describing things, he goes on extended rants to just about anyone, and just about every outlet chronicles them and breaks them into multi-day interviews so we can revel in how far gone he is. He’s also opened up his life of self indulgence, and invited both CBS and ABC cameras into his home. This story angers me on so many levels, not least of which it pisses off the perfectionist in me. In the five years I’ve gossip blogged there’s never been a story this complicated and detail-filled.
Charlie has hired two young women, a 24 year-old porn star and a 20-something “model” to be his constant companions. They both spoke to the media about how they just love Charlie’s twin nearly two year-old boys, and how they co-parent them when they feel like it. (The nannies take care of the rest.) Charlie also let cameras from ABC tape him with the boys. (You can watch the 20/20 interview here.)
That may have been the last straw for Charlie’s most recent ex and the twin’s mom, Brooke Mueller, because she filed for a temporary restraining order against Charlie, citing recent abuse, and got a judge’s order to have her boys temporarily removed from Charlie’s home. Brooke has her own substance abuse issues and is currently in “day treatment” for drug addiction. At least she’s getting help. Brooke’s mom will care for the boys while she’s away.
A judge temporarily stripped Charlie Sheen of custody of his twin sons Tuesday, after Brooke Mueller submitted a declaration in which she alleged Charlie said, “I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom” … TMZ has learned.
TMZ broke the story … Brooke’s lawyer got a temporary restraining order against Charlie, prohibiting him from going near her. The judge also ordered Charlie to surrender their twin boys — Bob and Max — to Brooke while the TRO remains in effect.
Police removed the twins from Charlie’s house late Tuesday.
According to legal docs, Brooke also claims … on February 23 Charlie threw a phone inside his house and then with a penknife in hand, threatened to stick it in Brooke’s eye.
Today’s hearing was held without notice to Charlie — his lawyers were not present.
Brooke’s lawyer confessed to the court … Brooke is currently in a “day treatment” facility for substance abuse. She says she will see the kids for around 4 hours a day while the TRO is in effect and her mom will provide care for the rest of the day.
Sources tell TMZ Charlie’s team is furious that the order was issued and plans to go to court tomorrow in an attempt to undo it.
Charlie twittered Tuesday night, “My sons are fine … My path is now clear …. Defeat is not an option!”
UPDATE: Charlie was just live on “Today” where he said he didn’t say those words, adding “it’s colorful … that’s a good one I guess. If you spend enough time around me you can formulate things and make it sound like it could have come from my mouth, but you can do that watching reruns.”
He also looked at the camera and sent out a message directly to Brooke, saying “I’m sorry you felt this had to be done in this way, but this does not display any responsible parenting.”

Radar has a tape of Charlie’s kids getting removed from his house and they say he was respectful to cops. (I have not watched the whole thing, I’ve had enough of Charlie.) He said that “my fangs are dripping with tiger blood.” Wait, didn’t he say he had tiger blood and Adonis DNA? Does that mean he bit himself?
Charlie also gave an “exclusive” – ha! – interview to People Magazine and is featured on the cover this week. He goes off on his tangents, and I have to give it to him, he’s really clever when he’s talking about how great he is.
Here’s my favorite quote from his 20/20 interview, and it came at the beginning because I’m not going to sit through any more of Charlie’s insanity than necessary:
“I’m bi-winning. Everyone thinks I’m bipolar, thanks Dr. Loser. Bipolar the earth is bipolar.”

What’s more is the dude has joined Twitter. Yes he did. These clearer photos are from his Twitter account. Guess what’s now the top trending topic: #tigerblood. He should have just stuck to Twitter all along and resisted the urge to give video interviews. If he could have simply posted his quotes to Twitter people would have been calling him a satirical genius. As it is, we know the reality for Charlie and it’s pretty scary to witness.
A rerun of Two and A Half Men was the top watched show on Monday night.

This story is sad. Brooke is no better than Charlie. They should have given them to Martin Sheen, not Brooke. She is every bit as screwed up as Charlie. Day treatment my ass! She was in day treatment way back when Charlie was charged, which was like a year and a half ago. It seems like some bullshit story she trots out whenever the authorities are involved to make herself look good. Not working.
I’m NOT saying Charlie shouldn’t have them, just that she shouldn’t either or at least have to take DAILY drug and alcohol testing at her so called treatment center.

I am pretty sure Denise has had full physical custody of their daughters since the domestic violence charges with Mueller. (although he does get visitation) I watched the video and I actually felt bad for the dude. He is obviously sick. He needs to get help I wish Martin Sheen could get through to him and put him in treatment.

I know Denise Williams fought like a wildcat to prevent unsupervised visitation with the girls-thus the odd joint trips, but that was her way of trying to keep Charlie “in their lives”.

@Guest29 she actually had been trying since then to get custody removed there were reports she went to the Beverly Hills Police Dept yesterday and was told she was in the wrong precinct. I am not a Mueller fan but she needed proof to get them away from Sheen. She’s probably only slightly better than him anyway.
@Whatever I think as far as drug use Martin Sheen hasn’t been an enabler. He, himself reported Sheen’s drug use to the judge when Charlie was on probation. The nail in Martin’s coffin is he’s always supported him on the domestic violence charges. And I think Sheen even said in his crazy babble that there was violence in his home growing up. I don’t know whether Brooke’s mom is any better. I am really worried about those boys especially because they don’t seem to have anyone as stable as the older girls have with Denise Richards (Who is no angel either but much better than Charlie).
@whatever, ITA. Outpatient treatment for substance abuse is a joke. Neither parent deserves custody in this case.
As an aside, my SIL is a “recovering” crack addict; who used to beat up her own grandmother for drug money. She also overdosed twice and had to be revived, and she never came up with half the crazy shit that’s coming out of Charlie’s mouth. I think there’s definitely more then addiction at work in Charlie’s case.

I’m glad those boys were taken from Charlie. He is in no state to be taking care of children, and I’m surprised that it took Brooke that long to get those boys away from Charlie and his “goddesses”.
But then again, Brooke isn’t all there herself. I agree with another poster. Martin Sheen should have gotten the boys.
I can’t recall how long Charlie’s been saying these crazy things, but if he’s having a manic episode (and I’m having one myself right now, though obviously nowhere near the level of Charlie’s), then it could last a few more weeks before he finally crashes, if something doesn’t happen to him before.
The scariest thing that could happen to him is that he truly does break with reality during this manic episode (or whatever it is he’s having). I watched the segment on Good Morning America this morning, and he doesn’t look like he’s slept or stopped at all. Pretty soon, he’s going to get psychosis, which can involve hallucinations and hearing voices, along with extreme paranoia and delusions.
I’ve had a manic episode where I’ve had psychosis, and it’s a scary thing. Thankfully, my parents got me to a hospital and got me stabilized. However, for Sheen, I doubt he’s going to get a 5150, unless he really starts spouting off strange shit and acting REALLY crazy.
I am glad that the boys were removed – this story tramatized me where when I first heard about it.
Thank god, what the hell are these people thinking – hey, screw up your own life or whatever you choose to screw around with but not innocent children.
Denise has recently said he has always been like this and had this lifestyle. If she hasn’t already, she can now prove that to the court to change the visitation.

I am curious what his eldest daughter thinks about all this. It is probably best for her sake that she is off the radar, but I wonder what she is like as a person and how she feels about having him as a father. I grew up with an addict so I know how painful it can be, but at least my addict father understood that he was human, that he didn’t have tiger blood and adonis dna, and that when he drank and popped pills he was a terrible person who hurt the people closest to him. I share this because I believed he knew his actions hurt people, and that he hated he could cause so much sorrow and destruction, but he did not have the strength to always keep his urges to use in check. I grew up angry and embarassed by him but I loved him very much, and was able to forgive him before he died. I think that would’ve been hard to do if he started throwing this, “I am better than everybody else; I am special; nobody is better than me” bull in my face. I hope his eldest child has been able to create a life for herself and is secure enough in herself not to allow her father’s rants and rage keep her from being successful in her own right. Honestly, I can’t image that he has any kind of relationship with her but you never know.

@Dany, I missed that part! My 2 1/2 year old son once said stupid (after he heard it multiple times on sponge bob) and I damn near had a heart attack. She knew what she was getting into when she had her first child with him and for arguments sake let’s say she didn’t so the first child we can forgive her but she deliberately had the second daughter with him knowing full well the type of father and husband he was. @whatever I’ve done day treatment for my anxiety/panic disorder, and you are absolutely NOT allowed to be using. You get booted immediately. It’s part of the contract you sign. It seemed to be helping some of the recovering addicts in my group. Obviously you get out what you put in, and I hope she’s serious about it because the treatment can be very helpful.
Brooke is not much better as a parent than Charlie, she has her own drug/alcohol problems. This is sad and at times funny to watch, but until Charlie’s ready to get help there is not much anymone can do. I hope for his family’s sake he doesn’t OD and this ends well.
Charlie Sheen was Mr 80s and then his career hit a bit of a lull in the 90s. I guess he’s making up for that now and how.

My short list of Celebs Likely To Die Before 2012 is : Lindsay Lohan, Cristina Aguilera, Charlie Sheen. Right now, Sheen is in first place.
Also : the fact that Brooke involves the police and Charlie himself involves the media is what make Charlie’s drug use public knowledge.
To compare : think about someone like Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger with their daughter Matilda. Michelle never involved the cops or media and kept their personal business (ie, Heath’s drugging) on the quiet as possible. Which made people very surprised when he died from his “shocking” heroin overdose death (er : sorry the “prescription meds” overdose).
Btw me thinks Cristina is doing more than just drinking personally too. Only her ex Jordan Bratman is classy and trying to keep that on the quiet.

I don’t feel sorry for Denise Richards either. I’m reading people say “oh finally this is vindication for her”. Charlies bad boy past goes back way farther than Denise and if she said he’s always been like this then I’d have to question her own mental sanity for marrying and having kids with a lunatic. I don’t think she’s as bad as Charlie by a long shot but Denise is no saint.

The US’s libel laws aren’t as stringent as they are in the UK. The US tabs just say “a source close to the celeb said _____” so they can say it wasn’t their idea. I can’t speak on why the tabs never outed Heath because they had a field day with Whitney Houston.
