Tina Fey flaunts her baby bump, will host the Mother’s Day SNL episode

These are some new photos of Tina Fey exiting the Ed Sullivan Theatre last night after taping a show with David Letterman. These are the first photos I’ve seen where Tina’s bump is really obvious. I’m really happy for her – she’s got it all! Happily married, one happy, healthy daughter and another baby on the way, a great career in television and film, and now a bestselling book, Bossypants. How does Tina juggle it all? As it Fey reminds the reader time and time again in Bossypants, not well. Apparently, there’s even a charming story about Oprah telling Tina that she shouldn’t be over-scheduling so much.

It’s also just been announced that Tina is going to host Saturday Night Live yet again – she’ll be the host for the May 7, the day before Mother’s Day. It should be a good one – Tina always gets the best writing when she’s on.

In other Fey news, a few days ago, (female) writer Curtis Sittenfeld wrote a piece for The New York Times about Tina Fey’s “place in the sisterhood” and whether or not Tina’s “girly” hilarity compares to the more traditional male-dominated humor-industrial complex. It’s an interesting piece, and worth a read if you like reading feminist essays about Tina Fey’s feminism. You can read it here.

    Smart-sexy= The best!

  2. Rasputina says:

I know I’m going to sound like a massive douchette but… pregnant bellies freak me out. All I can think of is Alien-esque chestbursters. Or vagina bursters.

  3. mia girl says:

I bow to Tina Fey. Her success comes from talent, hard work and class. She is one of the most talented people around.

I’m reading Bossypants now and it is really wonderful. Run, dont’ walk, and go buy this book!

  4. Isabel says:

    Yay, love love love her!

  5. Designer says:

    Pregnant women are always sexy!

  6. TQB says:

WHERE can I get that dress. I will FIND an occasion. Super giddy to be preggers with Tina and due around the same time!!!

  7. maggiegrace says:

She is just a doll – beautiful and robustly healthy.

  8. Sarah says:

Might sound weird, but I kind of feel empowered seeing a pregnant woman comedian. Because, what is more feminine than being pregnant and I love that she is still able to penetrate(for lack of a better word) this male dominated area.

  9. Happymom says:

Her book is great-I love her. She’s smart, funny and self deprecating-such a breath of fresh air among all the other fame whore and whiners.

  10. Jen says:

“How does Tina juggle it all?”

Umm, I think the word you’re looking for is “Nannies,” Kaiser.

It’s a whole lot easier to “have it all” when you have the money to hire people to raise your kids, do the housework, etc., etc.

  11. lucy2 says:

I got her book yesterday and read the whole thing (I’ve been stuck at home sick). It’s really good, very funny, and in some spots really, really sweet. She just seems really normal and awesome, someone who truly deserves all her success and works hard for it.

  12. Stubbylove says:

@mia girl: completely agree – LOVE LOVE TINA.

  13. Wendy City says:

This is the best I have seen her look in a while. I love the dress and the fit is very flattering for her.

  14. Isa says:

Rasputina- Don’t feel bad! Pregnancy can be kind of freaky. Your body is taken over, you suffer from all kinds of symptoms, you get stared at and everyone knows you had sex! With my first one, a daughter I felt so gross. But this pregnancy with my boy I feel so much better.

Anyway, Tina looks great! She has such a cute little bump!

  15. Kim says:

Jen – you got it. The reason she can have a baby at this old age is nannies.

  16. original kate says:

curtis sittenfeld wrote an amazing book a few years ago called “american wife.” it is a thinly veiled portrait of laura bush.

i agree – money and help are the reason celebs can have it all. i like tina, though.

  17. Bobby the K says:

Why does the mediocre JA get so much attention when there are smart, talented lookers around like Tina Fey?

  18. TQB says:

@ Kim, at what “old” age?? She’s 41. Trust me, lots of women without nannies have babies at that age. The nannies help her juggle her CAREER not her age.

  19. truetalk says:

    her bump looks weird

  20. Meh says:

    She’s adorable.

  21. Sugar says:

I must be the only person in the world who doesn’t like her. She just seems really nasty at times. No thanks.

  22. Becky says:

@Sugar while I like Tina Fey and think she’s really funny I agree with you that she can be very biting (and even a little nasty) at times. But, then again, that’s in part why she’s funny. Alot of comedians have that edge. Still, she pairs the biting humor with self-deprecation which (IMO) balances it out.

  23. LBeees says:

    Love Tina Fey!

She looks amazing and I hope she has a peaceful and uneventful full term preggo eggo.

  24. Patrice says:

This is AMAZING!!! Love love love Tina and I had NO IDEA that she was even expecting until I saw her on yesterday’s Oprah and I was like hmm??? Tina seems like the kind of girl I would love to be friends with (smart and funny as hell, rolls with the punches etc). I am am so excited for her and her family : ) Congrats!

  25. Patrice says:

    @CoffeeTalk: Amen : )

  26. xxodettexx says:

    amen, CoffeeTalk!

i guess that some of us Aunts dont “have it all”??? meh, at least i know when its said on this site, its not meant to be a put-down but dammit, hearing everyone talking about a woman that “has it all” is quite aggravating for those of us that want our “all” to be traveling, non-kid-filled households, kittens and straight selfish days to ourselves! 🙂

anyway, i love tina fey, and totally respect her as a comedian, love 30 rock and love her when she does her snl visits
