MI3 promotion ends up in call to the bomb squad

As part of an LA Times newspaper promotion for MI3, small devices were added to newspaper boxes that play the movie’s theme song when the box is opened. The red plastic devices with little wires came loose in some cases, though and some customers thought they were bombs.

The bomb squad was called in LA and the sheriff’s department blew up the newspaper box, thinking they were getting rid of a possible bomb threat. Music on websites is quite annoying, it’s even worse when it comes from an unexpected source.
