A few weeks ago, Brad Pitt gave an interview in which he seemed to indicate he was softening on the idea of marrying Angelina. He said, in part, “The kids ask about marriage. It’s meaning more and more to them. So it’s something we need to look at.” When I read that, it barely registered. But other people freaked out and there were twenty-million stories about BRANGELINA WEDDING ZOMG. Didn’t it just seem like Brad was simply talking in general terms…? Anyway, Life & Style has picked up the wedding gauntlet and run with it. According to L&S/Hollywood Life, Brad has issued an ultimatum to Angelina: Marry me now or ELSE!
After six babies and six years together, has Brad finally convinced Angelina to tie the knot? A new report says yes! But guess what she wants to exchange instead of rings!
If you thought the madness surrounding the royal wedding was insane, just picture what it will be like when the most famous parents in Hollywood, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, walk down the aisle! The A-list couple has had a change of heart when it comes to marriage, and it’s all thanks to their six kids and her desire for more!
“The kids ask about marriage,” reveals Brad, “It’s meaning more and more to them. So it’s something we’ve got to look at.” And Angie, 36, agrees. “Children are clearly a commitment,” she says, “a bigger commitment [than marriage].”
So, Brad has used Angelina’s “biggest commitment” — their six kids Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 2-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – to persuade her to finally tie the knot. “Brad has told Angie that he doesn’t want to add another child to their family until they get married,” an insider shares with Life & Style. “And she’s fine with that.”
One thing she’s not fine with is a wedding ring! “She’ll exchange necklaces or charms instead,” reveals another source.
So, will Brangelina have a beautiful ceremony at their lavish French chateau, which has a 16th century chapel on the grounds?

Er… honestly, and let me just let my Brangeloonie freak flag fly, I’ve always wondered which one – Brad or Angelina – was more opposed to getting married. At first, when they got together and Angelina was pregnant with Shiloh, I thought that Angelina was the one who didn’t really care about getting married, and that Brad was the one to want to nail this thing down. But over time… I tend to think that Brad is the one who is more reticent about marriage. I think Angelina is the one who not-so-secretly wants to get hitched. Basically, I doubt this story simply because I don’t buy these dynamics. I think Angelina is the one more in favor of marriage.
By the way, an unnamed insider tells Gossip Cop that Brangelina have “no plans for a wedding, by the end of the year or otherwise.” It doesn’t really mean much, but there you go.

Either way, I kinda don’t see them adopting or having any more. And I kinda hope they don’t. Six kids is a freaken lot, and, nanny’s or no, they need to focus on what they’ve got. No matter how much love they have, there is only 24 hours in a day, and a person only has so much time and energy. They are responsible for the emotional needs of 6 persons who rely on them. That’s where their focus should be. imho.
Getting married is not the same thing as having a wedding. I think that if they wanted to tie the knot, they would probably have a quiet, civil ceremony with family.
I think these two have a very good balance in their relationship. If anything, AJ is a bit more accomodating in that she adapts to her men, i.e. fashion and persona adaptation since Billy Bob.
All in all, marriage does not seem to be a necesity for them. They’re doing good and I hope they keep doing it…good that is.
The most interesting part of this story was your use of the adjective reticent. I mean you could have gone with the more common hesitant, restrained,or even reserved but instead you chose reticent. Very nice choice.

I hate when people think there is some sort of power thing in this relationship. Its pretty clear they operate as equals. There is no leader or follower. I like their relationship because they respect one another opinions and they say as much in interviews. Thats just obvious to me, why others can’t see it is beyond me.
2nd I agree that Angelina does want to marry but Brad opened his big mouth and made that statement about waiting for Marriage Equality before he would marry. Which was just stupid because he has been married before, why wait for marriage equality now? Brad was probably hesitant to marry again. He made that statement early in their relationship and now that they have worked out so well I think Brad does wanna marry Angie but he has to figure out a way outta of his statement. I remember when Cali was voting on Prop 8 and he donated, like what, 100k to help end that ridiculous bill. I thought that was super sweet and quite telling.
The thing is, most divorcees who have been married are hesitant to tie the knock again. FACTS.
Jolie, Pitt, Clooney, Depp to name a few have all been married and are all, hesitant, reticent to do it again.
The thing is, why fix something that doesn’t need to be fix ? As Jolie said, in their mind, they are already like they are married and committed to each other and their kids.
I beleive the institution of marriage matters more for the kids. For Jolie and Pitt, it’s “been there, done that”.

I don’t think either one of them is DYING to get married. I think they’re happy with the way things are, they know they’re committed, so why do they need a piece of paper? the ONLY reason I could see is because of the kids…not because the kids want them to, but for legal reasons…that is, to protect their family. (a will, etc.)
I agree with some other posters…I think that if they do it, it’ll be a VERY small ceremony. as in, ONLY family, done at home.

Brad nor Angelina just bring up marriage and talk about it. The only time Brad and Angelina have ever talked about marriage is when directly asked about it and then they give their answer and bam the tabloids run with it and do what they do. Brad and Angelina would never operate like certain people in order to promote a movie.
I think at first Angie was probably more reticent to get married because she didn’t want to end up like Elizabeth Taylor or Zsa Zsa with 7 or 8 husbands. But now I think Brad is more reluctant because he doesn’t want to f-up a good thing. This is Angie’s longest relationship and next year it will also be Brad’s if it ain’t broke they probably don’t feel the need to ‘fix’ it. And yeah with 6 kids they are tied together for life so in all but legal matters they are married. Oh and Angie never had a big wedding I am pretty sure both times they were small affairs so I expect they would just go to a courthouse with their kids and his parents and call it a day.

quiet wedding yes, but not at the courthouse. i see a wedding somewhere with a big yard and lots of privacy, with the girls as flower girls (well except for shiloh who would probably cart wheel down the aisle in a blush pink ninja costume!) and the boys as ring bearers. and the grandparents, and uncles and aunts and maybe a few close friends in attendance.
Of course they promote themselves ALL CELEBS PROMOTE THEMSELVES I love the Brange but they are masters at controlling the amount of information they give out on their lives. Brad has called himself the ‘Zen Master’ of publicity. But what is clear about them is that they are united as a family. They use the attention that put on them to put towards their respective charities which have helped people across the globe. Also they each have more than their publicity machines backing them up they have flourishing careers in front of and behind the cameras.

@journey traditionally in a wedding there’s 2 flower girls and one ring bearer. why don’t they just elope it’s quicker and they’d be divorced in 5 years anyway. unlike Jefferey Hayden & Eva Marie Saint who have been married 60 years in october and have a 56 year old son Darrell & a 53 year old Daughter Laurette {french spelling of Lauren}. infact it had been Eva’s pregnancy wit Laurette that made her forfeit the role of Clara in the movie Long Hot Summer opposite Paul Newman and be replaced by his future wife Joane Woodward who became pregnant during production but sadly miscarried during their honeymoon in February 1958 though they eventually had three daughters plus his three children from his first marriage though his only son pre-deceased him
I agree with those who say that he keeps mentioning the marriage thing every time he has a movie to promote because he know it’ll get them talked about. Just like Angelina knows that all the stories she tells about her kids will end up being commented on and will garner a maximum of attention for her movie.

They are doing what works for them and their family, and they are more successful than so many other celebs. They are mostly seen honoring their work PR commitments, their kids are not papped every freaking day like some I could list but won’t, they seem to try to live what are normal lives for those in similar situations. They are “married” in every sense of what that term means, loving, committed, faithful, loyal,respectful, supportive, cooperative, valuing each others interests, sharing goals, compromising.
This is the first time Brad has spoken on this issue since 2006 and he was open and candid with a similar answer that Angelina has given in the past. He was asked and answered.

I can’t stand the airhead but let’s be fair: she gets ASKED about Brad in every single interview. It’s not like she brings the subject up. But she could squelch the questions once and for all if she said the divorce happened six years ago, it’s over and done with, and any questions about her ex will be ignored.

As for whether they get married, who knows and who cares? Lots of divorced people hesitate and all divorced people know that a piece of paper means absolutely nothing. Divorces in HW are a dime a dozen and sometimes the unmarried couples seem much happier. The same old questions are tiresome. If they get married, cool, but if not, that’s cool too. The way they do it seems to work for them. This story is made up, like most tabloid stories about them. If you watch, there is a definite cycle of they are having a baby, then they are adopting, then they are supposedly breaking up, then he is begging her to quit heroin, and on and on and on. Very few of these stories ever turn out to be true.

Brad and Angelina are always asked about marriage and kids and have said the same thing for 6 years. The problem are the reporters not Brad and Angelina. People are acting like they on street corners screaming they may get married. I also don’t understand the haters logic that Brad and Angelina say something to get people to see their movies. People see movies because they want to. Nobody is going to waste time and money on something that doesn’t interest them.

Since you appear to have enough time to memorize the posts of complete strangers, you should know that I’m not a loon on either side. Please do not put me on any side of this stupid, fan invented triangle. I like BOTH women for who they are as actresses, very different, but good in their own genre. I can’t see Angelina in a rom com any more than I can see Jen in an action flick. They are different, but both good. It is indeed possible to not be on any side. I think Brad is the one who wants to get married. Of the two, he definitely is more tradition oriented than she is. Plus, the whole divorce thing that he was going through while she was adopting Zahara and becoming pregnant with Shiloh. Angelina made sure that she had initial legal custody of all the kids. Brad had to petition for parental rights. I think marriage wasn’t a legal option until the big divorce was finalized in October 2005, by which time Angelina was already pregnant. Angelina was probably like “Nah” to marriage because she was already divorced twice, the second divorce due to her desire for children. I think Angelina sees the kids as the commitment she and Brad made. They didn’t commit to each other, they committed to family. Ever since they got together marriage has been inopportune. It makes sense that if the kids ask about it, if the kids want it, that Brad & Angelina would reconsider.
Angelina’s head looks good here; although, there’s a bit of a bobble-head effect when you scroll down to her body. Brad looks like Crispin Glover’s grease-monkey, inbred hillbilly cousin.

Oh please, the private moments in their lives are not on camera. I can name tons of celebs that have made public every single expect of their family and personal lives. B-days, weddings, anniversary, renewal ceremonies, vacation trips whatever.
there are very few if any pictures of them on family vacations, no pics of the kids at their b-day parties (not counting the time they photographed Maddox by water.
So if they ever do get married it won’t be on display. I think all that pimping kids crap is just that. They sold pictures of their babies at an age where you can’t even tell who the children are. The last time we saw the kids was briefly getting into a car after the KGP 2 premier. NOTE there were many other celebrities walking that same RC with their children, having photographs taken. YET never a word of them pimping or using their children for promotion. IF Brad/Angie are using their kids, then they are going about it in a round about way. They sure are not showing them a lot.

I very much doubt Jolie’s reps started the “Jen doesn’t want a baby” rumors. I don’t think Jolie cares about Aniston one way or another. Aniston’s actions about “wanting a baby” speak for themselves. She doesn’t want one and I doubt she ever has. She made her own choice.
Why does he keep doing that to his hair? Someone needs to wrestle the dye and assorted styling products out of his hands and throw them in the incinerator.

I remember how quickly Pitt legally adopted Zahara (later on, Maddox as well). He knew he had hit the jackpot when he met The Jolie, he wanted to make sure they’d be together for a long, long time.
And @ Kim123 and others who still manage to read FF posts (I checked it once, because I had stumbled upon it by accident — and at first I laughed at it, then I got seriously disturbed by the amount of craziness going on there and left): Seriously? You actually saw posts where they were wishing death on her or that her first child was a stillborn? I mean, by the tone of some posts I saw there I assumed that wishing death on Jolie might be a topic /comment as well, but didn’t stay there to check. However, wishing a child would be stillborn is beyond anything I could ever imagine (even for them, the FF regulars).
HOLY CROW. I just noticed that shot of them at the Golden Globes. What the hell is she wearing? It’s like a 1970’s dress made for Helen Burstyn. While playing the part of an older, prudish woman. Possibly on Prozac.

She didn’t snag Brad, its the otherway around !
Brad and Jolie both said that it’s Brad who insisted that Jolie bear his seeds.
Jolie said that she never considered having bio kids and was afraid that he will love less the adopted children so she observed him and when she was sure that he could love Z and Maddoxx like his own she conceded dumping the pill and got pregnant right away.
Brad wanted a child of his own so bad that i am pretty sure that all those disussions about Maddox on the M&M set, the way he saw Jolie and Maddox on the set is probably the element that makes him fall in love with her.
It’s the motherly feelings he saw that makes him fall for her.
Remembered one of the first thing he said about Jolie on Oprah (one of the first interview where he spoke about her) is that she is the sweetest woman he ever met, that she was nuturng the the heart of their family and the the best thing he ever did was to chose her as the mother of his children.
Plus rememembered it was Brad who run after Jolie in Africxa and it was him who arranged his house so that Jolie, inviting her and her kids to live with him.
A man doesn’t make arrangements for his lover kids, nor invit them at his place if he doesn’t want them for a long period of time.
