Yesterday, the biggest show in town (for Paris Fashion Week) was Chanel, of course. Karl Lagerfeld wouldn’t have it any other way. But here’s what surprises me: none of the standard-issue famewhore fashion girls dropped everything to fly to Paris to be with Karl. There was no Kate Bosworth, no Rachel Bilson, no Kirsten Dunst and NO BLAKE LIVELY. What’s up, fashion girls? But of course, Alexa Chung showed up, looking like hell. The biggest “names” at the event were Diane Kruger, one of Lagerfeld’s favorites, and little Elle Fanning, looking out of place.
I guess I like Diane’s gown the most – I really love the top part, with the studs, but the skirt is rather meh. I also feel bad for Joshua Jackson. Poor guy has to escort his girl to all of these fashion events, and I bet he doesn’t even give a crap.
Here’s Elle Fanning – the outfit is cuter without the little jacket thing, but I still don’t care for a girl this young A) wearing Chanel and B) Attending a Chanel runway show in Paris. Elle just turned 13 in April.

I would love it short, or long, but that semi-mullet hemline doesn’t work for me. Otherwise, I’d love it. Hmm. The more I look at it, the more I could even take it with that hemline. Everything about the rest of the dress is too fabulous to ignore.

If I had a body like Diane, Lord forgive me,I’d showed it off much more. Elle is too young to be attending this kind of thing and her shoes…well, I can’t say other word than disgusting
Love Frau Kruger ……..she is beautiful! The dress is rather different, her man makes up for the any dress mishaps.
I like it on no one but Diane – but on Diane it is lovely. Also love her understated shoes, make up and of course the man on her arm…
I’m actually embarrassed for Elle and those hideous shoes – in a couple of years she’s going to be lovely and want a do-over on that ensemble.
I’d like the dress if the hem was even above the knees. But I swear, Kruger has the best shoes. Even if a dress is fug her shoes are usually awesome.
I LOVE Diane’s dress, it is fashion. With Galliano languishing somewhere, McQueen gone, Valentino retired, Karl is one of the only true fashion geniuses working these days. I don;t love everything he does, but at least he pushes the boundries.

Bubbling @Elle is at a fashion show all she doing is sitting down and watching people walk in clothes, so how is she to young? Now if she was going to the after party that would be a different thing and hopefully she made the trip with one of her parents.
I completely agree with everyone about the things on her feet.
JJ and Diana are amazing together. I love the fact that he goes to these events with her and is supportive. They remind me of Tom and Gisele in that respect.
Elle is way too young to be there and looks quite out of place. Her parents must be 10 kinds of crazy to allow this and that photo shoot from awhile back.
Is it just me, or does this event seem kind of budget? Where’s the glam and glitz? Is the recession still hitting the fashion world hard?

@Anonymous I saw the ring too, and did a double take. But, Diane’s not wearing one so I guess they didn’t pull a Weisz/Craig and secretely tie the knot.

Personally I hate asymmetrical hemlines. I think it always looks like a mistake. The human eye craves symmetry. Fashion can take risks & be beautiful.
I love the top of Diane’s dress, but the bottom… meh.

Josh has been pretty consistently wearing a ring since maybe January? Diane sometimes wears one, sometimes (like in these photos) doesn’t. Chelsea Handler did call Josh on it and all he said was that they were ‘committed.’ *shrugs* Clearly they have some sort of understanding between themselves.
Love the dress, and her hair looks far better when you can see the braid she’s working on the side.
She is simply beautiful. I love her style with the exception of hosiery on open shoes she had wore recently. Joshua is so handsome. Love this couple.
