Us Weekly: Zoe Kravitz is “figuring out” the Michael Fassbender situation

wenn5670908

Over the past few weeks, there’s been a steady stream of mutterings and gossip items about Zoe Kravitz maybe/probably boning Penn Badgley. This is both good and bad news. The good news is that the gossip indicates that whatever Zoe and Michael Fassbender had is pretty much over (or completely over). The bad news is that Zoe is trading down, in no uncertain terms, and it’s always sad to see a young woman do that. Yes, I didn’t like that she was with my Fassie, but he loved her for a short time, and she could do better than a Gossip Girl. Anyway, I’ve gotten to chance to look through some of this week’s tabloids, and the only ‘bloid with any information on Fassie, Zoe and Penn is Us Weekly. Note to tabloids: Fassbender is BIG NEWS. Okay, he’s not huge news or anything, but he has a rabid, devoted following, and there should be more time devoted to him. Here are the scraps of a story that we will just have to cling to:

Penn Badgley has been zooming all over NYC with Zoe Kravitz. Penn, 24, and Zoe, 22, had dinner at Five Leaves in Brooklyn on July 16, left the July 18 NYC Friends With Benefits premiere party in a cab together at 1:45 a.m., and then caught a showing of Horrible Bosses the following day.

Does this mean it’s over for Kravitz and her X-Men costar Michael Fassbender, 34, who have been dating since last fall?

“She is figuring it out,” a Kravtiz source tells Hot Stuff. “It’s not a black or white thing.”

[From Us Weekly, print edition]

What. The. F. SHE is figuring it out? What about Fassbender? Is the subtext here that Fassie has already “figured out” what HE wants? Hint: He wants to bone other girls! The thing about Fassbender is that he’s not a Justin Timberlake (mama’s boy who feels the need to have an “official girlfriend”) nor is he a Leonardo DiCaprio (mama’s boy, kind of gross and immature about very young women). Fassie lets it all hang out. Fassie does not feel the need to please a public with expectations about how he should conduct his sex life. He’s very open about being a charming, devilish sex god.

Once again, though, I do end up feeling for Zoe. Bedhead and I were theorizing about what went down between Zoe and Michael, and Bedhead pointed out this Twitter feed that she thinks belongs to Zoe. Back on July 16, Zoe (or someone) tweeted, “I wonder how one can be so confident in the relationship working when it began on cheating lies.” And “My selfisteam is sh-t level low.” We think that Michael is in London, doing whatever he wants with whoever he wants, and maybe he called Zoe and gave her a weird breakup line.

By the way, if you’d like to see the first images from Shame, go here. They’re kind of meh – no full-on “O” face from Fassie. He’s playing a sex addict in that film, you know there should be some exquisite O-faces.

I’m only here to stare at Fassbender pics.

  2. Meowmix says:

I now associate her face with a negation of Fassdong… Be GONE!

  3. gee says:

Her self esteem must be sh_t level low to just be ok with being used like that. She seems like she’s not on board with his plan.

  4. DethHammer says:

What’s there to “figure out”? She should call Fass up and say “Hey Fassmeister, are we done?” and if he gives some ambiguous answer or blows her off, she should just say “ok, bye Fass-bitch”

Penn is much more suited for her, and I hope she finds happiness with him.

  5. mln76 says:

I feel bad for Zoe as much as I love me some Fassbender he seems like nothing but trouble…not boyfriend material just a DAMN GOOOOOD Lay.

  6. Maripily says:

Maybe she got bored with HIM. She’s young, beautiful, and her career is taking off.

  7. Jaceie says:

I doubt that’s her official Twitter. And also this is Zoe Kravitz. Girlfriend changes men on a daily basis. She’s young and she’s never stayed in a relationship that long. Who knows what’s going on, but whatevs

  8. tapioca says:

Well, in the X-Men reviews I read, she was spotlighted as easily the worst actor in a film featuring January Jones, so aiming lower and angling for a part on GG is probably a smart move.

    And Penn Badgley is cute!

  9. Jen34 says:

Zoe looks just like her dad in that top photo. I’ve never seen that in her before.

I think she just needs to move on with Penn Badgely or some other cute guy her age. I also think that as much as I love the Fassdong, he is a scoundrel. He’d make a rotten boyfriend except for the sex. He should stick with women his own age instead of hitting on young girls who may expect more.

  10. madpoe says:

What is there to “figure out”? They’ve got her paradin’ ’round here in NYC like she’s got a plan. You figure out what’s for dinner, not whether Fassie is a keeper or not. She’s 22 she’ll bounce back. Fassie doesn’t struck me as the I-must-find-my-soulmate-and-marry-her-now! type. Play on playa.

  11. Liz says:

She may be a brat, but she’s very pretty.

  12. Jerry says:

I don’t understand how can people point with fingers at anyone when no one knows what’s going on and what was going on between them. She is the one seeing another guy, maybe they simply broke up because a long distance relationship didn’t work and there’s also the age difference. His career is only getting better and hers…

  13. Ann says:

She is not trading down if what she wants is a relationship. Penn seems to be more that type of guy.

  14. Mia says:

As much as I love Fassie, he doesn’t seem like the long term boyfriend type. Zoe is allowed to move on from the Fassdong, since the Fassdong likes a variety of biscuits.

  15. VV says:

I don’t see her trading down with Penn at all. Sure his career is not on the same level as Fassbender, but being in a relationship with someone that much older than herself seems to speak of something weird going on. It just didn’t look right no matter how you slice it…

Plus who is she? What group or demographic does she appeal to? Pervy older men like Fassbender who see themselves as having a shot with her? Or would she rather gain a following and fans from a younger more hip crowd?

Sure Fassbender is talented but he is in no way cool. If you actually watch him in an interview or see him on the street in candids, he is charming but he doesn’t scream the kind of cool Zoe seems to want to project. In fact those pics of him in that awful hat and those Converse shoes spoke volumes of what a dork he is lol

Penn is hardly cool himself but he is known name among a younger crowd who seem to think Gossip Girl is still relevant.

In short I think it works in Zoe’s benefit if she is starting something with Penn, at least career and exposure wise. Being the daughter of Kravitz is gonna get her places, but she needs to create more momentum for herself and dating some older yet immature Irish guy with a possible drinking problem won’t do well for a girl whose dad is one of the coolest guys on the planet. Sorry I ramble. haha.

  16. Haylie says:

So Zoe needs to build her career on who she is dating to remain cool?
She is a hipster, her acting talent is non existent. Without her parents she wouldn’t be known at all.

  17. madpoe says:

oh my he’s shaven those locks off:

  18. WaywardGirl says:

Possible drinking problem and immature? Your basing your post on what? Zoe is not that good of an actress. Having a famous name helps, but if you don’t have talent then you’re going to get anywhere. Plus she has her music so she might be more focused on that. Pervy older men? Just because Michael dated Zoe he’s now pervy? Good God, he’s not Hugh Hefner. And he did have a shot with her because they dated for almost a year. And what the hell are you talking about cool? As someone said, she’s a hipster. She wears a a freaking top hat out in public. I doubt she cares about what Michael wears a hat and converses (wow what a dork)

  19. ViktoryGin says:

She’s young. A stupid prick is a rite of passage. And if that prick is Fassbender, at least he’s fine.

  20. Ally says:

Maybe her selfisteam would be better if she could spell.

  21. WTF? says:

Michael kept this relationship on the downlow, he didn’t exploit it during the X-Men promotion, never talked about her. I don’t see people slamming Ryan Gosling for dating two famewhores Blake Lively and Olivia Wilde.

Zoe is 23 years old not a child. What’s up with people here treating Zoe or Kristen Stewart like children? Both are over 20 and should take responsibility for their actions and who they deal with. From comments here you’d think Zoe needs child protection service saving her. Give me a break! She’s a freaking adult.

  22. Ellie says:

Jeez. She’s like 12. Immature. Why expect anything more from her.

  23. kris says:

she’s not as pretty or smart as her mom..

  24. Hmm says:

That’s not her twitter. Her twitter is http://www.twitter.com/imzoekravitz, which is protected. She used to have an unprotected one prior to XMFC, but I think it’s been deleted.

Also, I don’t believe this story. Sounds like a planted quote, just like the quote that was attributed to “sources” when she and Fassbender were photo’d together. Unlike her mother, Zoe really wants to be famous and really likes to be photographed. In that regard, Penn is well suited for her because he also likes the attention that comes with dating someone else in the industry. That was pretty apparent when he was dating Blake Lively.

I do think that to a certain extent she dates for publicity, but it also seems like she’s a woman that must always have a man and those men often wind up being co-stars. She’s dated Ben Foster, Johnny Simmons, Ezra Miller and Fassbender, all of whom were co-stars (to use the term lightly since she had minor roles in all the movies). As for Penn, idk, she really likes Jeff Buckley and he’s in that other biopic? Sounds like a good pick-up line to me.

What’s funny is that I see people starting to regard her as a man-eater. All the women I know who can’t be without a man have some seriously major issues and usually it’s the men who have the power in their relationships, not them.

  25. donna says:

Why are people coming down on Zoe, like Fassbender is an Angel, just because he is a good actor. He (Fassbender) is the one with the reputation (last girlfriend ended with a restraining order) not Zoe or Penn Blagley, and as for her acting, she didn’t do bad in the movie, the girl is just starting out. So if she did breakup with (Weirdo) Fassbender its her right and I don’t blame her.

  26. elizabeth says:

    @ Ally

“Maybe her selfisteam would be better if she could spell”

Sadly it seems that being able to spell is no longer a requirement for being viewed as having any intelligence. No one can spell these days and it drives me nuts! But your point is correct – maybe if she did more reading, bought a dictionary, her “self esteem” would be better.

  27. Laylay says:

You guys know none of these people stop labeling them based on your own opinions.

  28. ToastedSkin says:

I’m sorry but can someone tell me why this girl is famous? besides having a famous dad and being in X-men? Cause I really don’t understand all the hype about her.

  29. Jo says:

    In Susan’s wise words:
“I’m only here to stare at Fassbender pics. “
