Here’s Melanie Griffith, 53, out in Beverly Hills yesterday in a pair of skin tight light wash jeans and a layered white tank top. She paired it with some black sandals and a white leather purse, which I love. Melanie has gotten some well-deserved flack for her plastic surgery, which was particularly obvious in 2007, but she looks good here notwithstanding the 90s outfit. Maybe it’s because these photos highlight how fit she is without making her look scary skinny.
Melanie went to rehab in August, 2009 for a prescription pill addiction. Her husband of fifteen years, Antonio Banderas, was very sweet when he was asked about it at the time. He denied rumors of a split and spoke very highly of her “She’s doing fantastic and very little of what is being published is true. I am not going away. I am staying with my family and my wife who I love very much.”
In an interview and family photospread with Hello! Magazine published in April, 2010, Antonio expanded on that and said so many nice things about Melanie and their daughter Stella, 14. “Each day we become even more united. I still love my wife, and the concept of family is very important to us. It gives us strength.”
So it’s nice to see that Melanie and Antonio are still going strong, and that she’s looking sober and healthy. The two posed on the red carpet at a charity event late last month. Antonio told the press that his wife is doing fine post rehab. “We had problems and she had problems which she had to put together. She did and she’s working again, and I am so happy.” IMDB has Melanie in three movies coming out, two this year and one in 2012. She’s filming Yellow, with Hank Azaria and Sienna Miller, now.

Hate the tattoo and she has got the old lady veiny arms,hands and turkey neck that are very prominent when one is getting on in years and very skinny. She may be thin but I think she is no longer attractive.
I think she looks better at 53 than she did at 43.

she does look better but she still has that upper lip issue going on. I think once all the filler wears out she’ll look great.
Maybe I’m stuck in the 90s as well, but I think her outfit is fine. I absolutely hate dark jeans for daytime/Summer and I think these look fine. Hey, it’s not like she’s rocking acid-washed you know? The rest of her looks a little rough, but better than in the past. I hope she’s doing well.
I think she DOES look scary skinny. And much older than 53. Addictions are to blame I’m sure, and all the plastic surgery doesn’t help matters. At least she’s alive, hopefully healthy, and if they’re happy, that’s great.

For being 53 years old? She is beautiful. She isn’t 24 anymore she’s earned a little shifting. She obviously keeps herself up, and she has been adored by a very sexy man for a very long time- in Hollywood. I think that speaks volumes about her allure.
I hope she’s well. She always seems so insecure regarding him but he absolutely adores her.
Hope Melanie is sober, but she has really aged. She looks about ten years older than she actually is. She should stay out of the sun, and quit the Botox! Good luck to her.

I’ve never thought Melanie Griffiths was overly beautiful to begin with, and she has had work done over the years, but I think she looks fine here.
I sometimes wonder how mature women in hollywood ever get up the nerve to go outside at all. They can’t really win. It’s either pull/nip/tuck themselves into oblivion, and get blasted for that, or else show some age and get blasted for that too.
This is what happens to women who are obsessed with always being skinny. When they turn 40 all that fat restriction catches up with your looks. The thing is by 35, as a women you have to decide do you want to be skinny and wrinkly or do you want to be a size 8 or 10 and still have your pretty face? I know which one I have chosen and it is much less stressful!

There’s a lot to like about this woman but biggest lesson is stay away from cigarettes. They’ll age you way before your time.

Her surgery is mocked and her non-surgery is mocked. It’s a lose lose situation in Hollywood.
I wish some of these older actresses who are so painfully thin would realize they don’t need Botox and fillers if they would just gain a few pounds. She looks old. I’m happy that they’ve been able to make their relationship work through all the rehab.
She looks older than my Mother and my Mother is 62. I know it’s hard to stop smoking, but MG needs to try and give it up.

she seems like she would be “a big bowl of bad” I think Antonio puts up with more than he admits. She needs to quit the ciggies, that’s what is aging her the most.

i watched ‘Something Wild’ not too long ago. i loved Melanie back then…not to mention ‘Body Double’ & of course ‘Working Girl’.
over the years she hasn’t been kind to her body with the abuse, so of course her looks hit the wall.
looks like she is in a much healthier place, so kudos to her. i know she must be grateful everyday for such a supportive husband & family.

I like the outfit. It’s more 70s than 90s though. I see Gisele wearing some thing similar all the time. In fact, I’d say that this type of outfit is a model staple – jeans and a neutral tank.
Get ready for the flared jeans ladies. Europe is swinging the other way on the skinny pants. It could be a short trend, but something tells me that over the next few seasons that skinnies will fall by the way side. Europeans back me up on this. 🙂
I guess she must be laying off all the plastic surgery crap because for her she’s look great right now. I hope she can stay sober and continues on this path.

If she’s menopausal it’s no suprise her skin looks like it does, no need to be heavy smoker for that. My mom aged 10 years in about 2 when her menses stopped. It’s life.

How she landed Antonio I’ll never understand. This look is just terrible…that bandage dress looks aweful and is not for 50yr olds she needs to dress her age already!
There’s being skinny-thin, and there’s being skinny without any muscle tone. Someone get this woman to the gym and teach her how to get some definition in those sticks attached to her shoulders! (Standing up straight would help, too.) But if you’re going to have ink on your shoulder, frame it with a little muscle. At least you’ll look healthy and not so emaciated.

Good for her that she’s doing well! She appears to have finally realized that her lip injections were doing her no favors, because her lips look fairly normal. I do agree with some other posters who say she looks 10 years older than she really is. If I didn’t know her age, I’d guess 65. Makes me realize I really need to quit smoking – yikes!!

Melanie looks good and much better than she did some years and come on, she looks good in those pics (minus the tattoo) but the woman is married to freaking Antonio for years…. le sigh…the man if fn hott.
She looks like she’s in her late 60s to me. Legs are way too skinny and pants are way too tight. Seems like her addictions and not eating have aged her a lot.
His consistent, heartfelt support of his wife makes AB impossibly sexy. These two really found love, it seems. I like her outfit concept but the jeans look a bit uncomfortable to me. IMO, if yuo’re wearing jeans you should be comfortable.
And I agree that flare and more particularly wide-legged jeans and trousers are on their way. (And I’m glad of it as I’ve put on a few recently and have sworn that I will take my time losing weight healthfully…could use a break in the wardrobe dept.) But I’m not European (except by descent) so I can’t speak for the migration aspect!
I find Antonio so incredibly hot–even moreso now with his salt and pepper hair. And kudos to them for making it work for 15 years. She looks better than she used to, I think.

She ruined her face very early on with the exploding ducklips – she was the first one to do it – even before the advent of Angelina Jolie- and yet so many celebs have followed – like lemmings going over the cliff. I’ve never seen the lip-puff go well for anyone – they always go to far.

I do not think she looks good for her age. Not comparing her to other plastic surgeried celebs, just comparing her to other women I know in their 50’s. To me, she looks a decade older. She is very fit, I will give her that.

Same as with the bandage dress – this look is too young for a woman in her 50s. There is no reason a woman with money cannot look nice and classy at any age. Except if there is a lack of taste. Good on them for making the marriage last..they were married 6 weeks after my man and I. Antonio is still very gorgeous!

Melanie looks much older than her age. Instead of wasting money on all those dreadful cosmetic procedures that made her look worse, she would’ve been better off giving up drugs, cigarettes and sunbathing.
As others have already commented, being skinny adds years once a woman reaches a certain age. I’m sure Melanie would look much better if she put on 10 to 15 pounds.
All that aside, it’s refreshing to see a Hollywood couple actually work at their marriage, instead of ending the relationship at the first sign of trouble. Kudos to Antonio for supporting Melanie during her struggles with addiction.
Not scary skinny, but scary in every other way. Lucky girl to find (and keep) a mensch like Banderas.
Antonio is so hot. Melanie just needs to put on some weight. Being too thin can do a number on a person’s neck no matter what your age is.

I’m happy for any couple, especially in Hollywood, who stay together and are connected, yay for them. Why do we always comment on the looks so much? This is only part of the person. Why does everyone have to look picture perfect? We are human beings, in various sizes and shapes. We can be loving and good and we deserve to be happy no matter what we look like on the outside. People, stop being so superficial!

I think she looks great compared to several years ago, now that she’s let the fillers die down. I’m also happy that she’s got things coming out in the near future… she worked hard for her success and for a while, it seemed like she lost it.
