Brangelina took Maddox to a matinee of ‘Wicked’ for his birthday

65037pcn_joliepitt03

I always forget that Maddox Jolie-Pitt has the same birthday as my mom. Maybe that’s something I should NOT try to remember, right? Anyway, Maddox’s birthday was Friday, and the little guy turned the big 10. I don’t remember my tenth birthday, but I’m sure it involved ice cream cake and…? Maddox’s birthday was fancier, of course. Madd got to go to a show in London! Angelina and Brad took Madd and the three other older kids to see a matinee of Wicked on London’s West End. These are photos of the clan as they leave the theatre. Brad has been filming around London for weeks now, and I guess they haven’t made the move to Scotland yet. Tell me this – is it weird that Maddox had to spend his birthday with his younger siblings? What if his birthday wish was “some alone time without being overrun by younger children”?

Maddox Jolie-Pitt and his famous family took a trip to the marvelous land of Oz for his tenth birthday. On Saturday, a day after Maddox turned 10, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt treated their eldest to a matinee performance of Wicked — the smash Broadway musical — on London’s West End.

Maddox was photographed with mom Jolie, 36, dad Pitt, 47, and sister Shiloh, 5, near the theater. Sister Zahara, 6, and brother Pax, 7, were also on hand for the theater event. Word of the superstar brood’s presence spread to the cast of the show.

“There was definitely a big excitement backstage! Everyone was on a high,” a Wicked castmember tells Us Weekly. And the Jolie-Pitts weren’t perched a in a VIP box, either — sitting in the orchestra, but surrounded by a few empty, reserved seats.

What did Maddox, Shiloh and the gang think of the show, about the earlier lives of witches of Oz (Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North)?

“They were very happy and quite quiet,” the castmate says. “The children seemed fascinated by the spectacle.” The group did not, however, visit backstage.

The family have been hanging out in England as Pitt shoots World War Z — and, despite Saturday’s fun outting, Jolie’s not having the best time ever.

“She’s not pleased being at home while he’s on set,” an insider told Us. “These are the longest hours he’s spent on a set in a while, so it’s just her and the kids with not much to do.”

[From Us Weekly]

Does anyone else find it amazing that the kids were so well-behaved? Those are four little kids, in the middle of a crowded theatre, seeing an exciting show. If they got over-excited, it would be perfectly understandable. But reportedly, they just enjoyed the show and they were good kids. Is it possible that they just really are good kids and not the wild hellions that the tabloids claim?

You can also see in the photos that Shiloh is clutching a stuffed, winged monkey doll from the show. How come Shiloh gets a doll on Maddox’s birthday? MOM!!! Also: Brad looks hot in blue. Angelina looks meh. I’d rather see her in black than nude, though.

Why is not Angelina in Somalia?
There are refugees and hungry people.

    Why?
You must not promote a new movie.
    She is a liar!

  2. lisa says:

I think they both look great. And the story of Angie is bored.. really. she loves to travel. Something she gets ragged on about all the time. She has gone to EVERY single location of Brad’s in the almost 7 years they have been together. She lived in England a number of years with Maddox.. hardly a place she is not familiar with. And besides that she enjoy going to different places. Why would she miss LA..

seriously I guess the rags know so much. YET they didn’t know she and Brad were going to Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia..which had been planned 6 months in advance..

I guess silly stories about Angie sell. And a story of her not wanting to be with Brad sell better than she/Brad and the kids are happy.

Wonder who buys these stupid magazines still.

  3. Monie says:

The boys are wearing the same Nikes. Not very individualistic.

  4. Tom says:

Old hasbeens. They are clearly using their kids for publicity.

  5. Jen34 says:

I can’t get past Angie’s legs. I think she’s approaching Kate Bosworth territory.

Beyond that, I live in a suburb of NY, and it’s not unusual for kids to request a Broadway show for their birthday. My daughter once was invited to see The Lion King along with 2 other girls for a friend’s 6th birthday.

  6. jaschintaz says:

I think the last thing a 10 year old boy would want on his birthday is a stuffed toy 🙂 Shiloh is really cute.

  7. olivia says:

How can she walk on those chopsticks she calls legs?? 😯

  8. Brittney says:

The fact that Maddox is ten is such a reality check for me. I graduated from college yesterday (for some age context), but I’ve literally been obsessed with his mother for his entire life… and then some.

  9. mln76 says:

Max you really think she should have left her son on his birthday? I think you need your head examined.

I thought they looked great and Wicked is a fun show.

  10. lisa says:

@Max… when is your plane leaving

@Tom.. you have posted this same comment in several places. So the rule is they can’t take their kids anywhere.

Angie is thin but she looks really good here to me. And so does Brad. I guess the new topic will be her weight. I think people have ragged on her about everything else..

  11. Cherry Rose says:

I like Angelina’s black dress. Just wish she hadn’t paired it with nude colored shoes. I also wish she’d gain 10-15 more pounds. I get that she’s naturally skinny, but she had a bit more weight on her during the early days of her and Brad’s relationship.

The kids look cute. I saw Wicked in New York. It was pretty awesome.

@Max – I really hope you’re being sarcastic. And for the record, Angelina’s not promoting a movie. Perhaps you should read the article before you post.

And why must everything be placed on Angelina’s shoulders? She does what she can, but she still has her own life she needs to concentrate on as well.

  12. nag says:

Angelina has claws for hands… they look terrible

  13. Nanea says:

Hey Max, and how much did you give?

  14. alex says:

AJ has always been thin. I have been a fan of AJ since Gia and she has always being thin. People just like to hate on this woman. Methink it is jealous and don’t say it is not. It takes to much time and energy to hate on someone you don’t know. Very sad

  15. alex says:

ahh the haters are here lol

People need to lay off her weight and she don’t need to gain any weight for anybody. Worry about your own weight instead of Jolie. Gosh some people are just ridiculous

  16. Courtney says:

Taking a kid Maddox’s age to a broadway play isn’t out of the ordinary at all I went to my first broadway play at 9 years old it was Beauty & The Beast at the Palace Theater

  17. Laylay says:

I would kill to see Wicked in London!

  18. hatekyle says:

haters please…take a deep breath and a sip of smartwater.

  19. texasmom says:

I think they had to get Shiloh got the monkey because she has the same costume at home!

  20. beautiful says:

Brad & Angie are giving their children the greatest gift of all- a close, bonded family. I only have four siblings, but there is no greater comfort than your sibs in times of celebration or sadness. We recently lost our Mom & Dad within 6 months of eachother and it has been very hard. Having eachother has really helped, plus we have those wonderful memories of times together and fun places Mom & Dad took us.

  21. Rena says:

Shiloh carried a doll with a pacifier and dressed in an oversized pamper into Wicked in pics on other sites, she replaced the doll with the flying monkey as she exited, cutie.

How does anyone know how Maddox spent his birthday on FRIDAY as these pics are from yesterday Saturday, one day after his birthday.

These kids are always observed to be well behaved by all who have actually seen them, no matter where or when, no matter how many paps are screaming at them and taking their pics, or when a crowd is gathered of the public. Even the little 3 year old twins are calm as shown in their movie and aquarium outings in London. There appears to be great parenting by Brad and Angelina going on.

The things made up about this family and most other celebrity families are beyond rediculous. Just Too Much.

  22. Maritza says:

Shiloh looks so cute with her monkey doll and blanky.

  23. Rose says:

Brad, Angie and the kids all look very happy. Why so much hate an Angie this morning. I am sure all the people who are talking about her weight are within their ideal body weight, not.

  24. oktober says:

    Maddox looks not happy.

  25. Maritza says:

To those who say they are using their kids for publicity… Are they suppose to stay in their homes with 6 kids and not go anywhere just because the paparazzi is hounding them? Kids and parents need entertainment or they’ll go crazy.

  26. lisa says:

Actually Shiloh was carrying a little baby doll when they went into the theater.

regarding Madd and Pax wearing the same shoes so what.. I see the Beckham boys dressed the same for YEARs.. Madd and Pax seem very close.

People are always talking about her weight in TR. as if that was her. But looking at all her other films she was thin. I guess the same cam be said of the men too. Butler, Crowe, Rogan, loads of others ment that beefed up for a role then lost it afterwards. Angie seems as always to be the exception to every rule.

funny how the first comment is from a none fan.. Wonder where all the other celebrities are on the issue. If Angie had or does make a trip.. I’m sure the none fans will be screaming PR and such. Damned when she does anything or not. The Somalia issue is not a refugee issue is an World issue. YOU should be asking the world nations where they are and not Angelina.

  27. mln76 says:

@beautiful so sorry for your loss I had the same experience when my Dad passed away. I have great friends don’t get me wrong but there is no one in the world who can understand you like a sibling.

  28. LittleDeadGirl says:

Clan looks cute and I’m glad to hear the kids are well behaved. Nice to know someone in Hollywood still does a little something called parenting. Can’t hate on them. I love the life style, I’m a traveler myself, always moving place to place, and if I could afford to have what they have, constant travel and kids, I’d have it in a heart beat. Not for everyone but everyone has own life to live …

  29. Jenn WInd says:

While I understand spending your birthday with family, and of course my 6 year old has to always spend her birthday with her 4 year old sister. I would still think he would like to have a party with his friends, kids his own age, hell at chuck e cheese, like a normal 10 year old boy. Most kids just ahve birthday parties that have all their friends at them.

While I would love to see Wicked in London, and while I am sure it was a great cultural experience for the kids, that is something they could do whenever, not on a 10 year olds birthday. My only question is why can’t the kids be normal kids for their age. Other celebrity parents do it.

I am not just saying this about Brad and Angie, I am saying theis about Suri cruise too. Just let them be kids, and have friends, and do kid stuff!!

  32. zara says:

@ Max, re-posting the following just for you:

Angelina was at Dadaab (in Kenya), the world’s largest refugee settlement, (populated by Somalis fleeing their homeland) in September 2009. It was a dire situation then, and has become even more so due to the continuing drought. She was there when Dadaab wasn’t even a blip on the evening news.
    http://www.unhcr.org/4aac232a9.html

She was in Darfur in 2004 long before Clooney made it his cause celebre.
    http://reliefweb.int/node/157350

She was also bringing attention to Congo way before Ben Affleck got involved. While in Congo in 2003 with John Prendergast, she recorded a journal to chronicle what was happening there. You may view it here if you wish: Congo Journal.
    http://themalau.blogspot.com/2005/12/dr-congo-angelina-jolie-co.html

I’m not trying to take away from Clooney’s and Affleck’s involvement. The more people that get involved, the better. I am saying it to show she was there long before the crazy media spotlight that currently follows her.

I bet if she went back to the Dadaab refugee camp now, you’d be among the first people deriding her for using starving Africans to prop up her so called Mother Teresa image or you’d probably accuse her of trawling for orphans.

She is not some Jenny come lately dilettante. She has been actively involved and engaged for the past 10 years.

  33. Isa says:

Maybe because I’m a normal kid, but I always spent my birthdays with my siblings. It was still MY day though.
I like Angie’s dress..but it is black. *sigh* She did wear that pretty orange dress a week or so back though.

Now this is a dress I would’ve paired with Kelly Brook’s shoes from a previous post.

I’ve always wanted to see Wicked. I can’t believe Mad is 10! I’m getting old haha.

  34. ann carter says:

I get the not wanting to “give the paps what they want”…but if AJ EVER just displayed a normally expressive face instead of emotionless mannequin-face I’d fall over. Shiloh, and of course, her sister Z, are the ONLY ones in the family who ever genuinely seem joyful. They’re obviously great kids. That just makes me really sad.

  35. Brittany says:

Is it gross to say that I think Maddox is gonna be a really attractive man in about 10 years?

  36. Rose says:

@jenn, weekly rags or the fans have no idea how or with whom Maddox spent his birthday. Just because this blog said they went to the theater for his birthday makes it so. Brad And Angie always have big celebration for their children. Brad was off the set on Friday, I’m sure they did something awesome.

  37. tracking says:

Wicked is not a play for kids. Odd choice. *shrugs*

  38. coucou says:

OMG is that all y’all can talk about? What about the most important item in these shots – HER SUNGLASSES – does anybody know who they’re by, details, it’s bringing out my inner shades junkie…please help, somebody.

  39. waq says:

Maddox’s birthday was on Friday, they went to see Wicked on Saturday. Brad had the weekend off from filming so there’s is no telling what other stuff they did or are doing for Maddox’s birthday. They might have turned it into a birthday weekend celebration and this trip to the theater could have just been one of the things they did. We only get a glimpse into their live and we make assumptions about the rest and that goes for others celebrities as well. The only reason tabloids labeled this event as his birthday gift is because they have no clue as to what they actually did on his birthday on Friday. But if they would admit that, then they would have to admit that they don’t have inside information about a lot of other things as well.

  40. lisa says:

    @tracking

you should voice that to the thousands of of other children who have seen the performance. Or the people standing behind them with their kids too.

and last year I believe they were in LA for Madd’s birthday. He and the family along with his “friends” spent the day at some go cart place. Anyway the thing I like is they keep their family celebrations private. We don’t see picture of the kids birthday parties. And we don’t get the usual pictures of all the celebrity guest that attend.

Most of my birthdays was with my family and later a few friends. I guess people don’t realize we don’t see a lot of their life. Good thing too.

    2009,
    but not NOW.

Sshe has no new film at the start.
    She is a hypocrite

  42. Violet says:

From all accounts, the kids are all happy and well-behaved. Angelina and Brad seem to regularly spend one-on-one time with the various kids, as well as sometimes go on outings with just two at a time, so I think they’re pretty good about making sure all their children get special attention.

Maddox probably had friends over on his birthday, celebrating out of the public eye. The family went to the matinee the next day, so it’s only natural that his older siblings would tag along.

Angelina is skeletal, but she’s been that way for years. It’s too bad, because she’d look a lot better if she gained some weight.

  43. Bubbling says:

I really like Angie’s style here. I’m boring to the bone

  44. Cheyenne says:

hatekyle: haters please…take a deep breath and a sip of smartwater.
    ==============================================

They are most likely drowning in smartwater and probably lose two IQ points for every ounce they drink.

Pax is almost as tall as Maddox is. Those are going to be two very handsome young men when they grow up.

  45. Runs with Scissors says:

@hatekyle:”haters please…take a deep breath and a sip of smartwater.” ha!

@Maritza: “To those who say they are using their kids for publicity… Are they suppose to stay in their homes with 6 kids and not go anywhere just because the paparazzi is hounding them? Kids and parents need entertainment or they’ll go crazy.”

Great point. I suppose they could try to wear disguises like Michael Jackson’s kids, but somehow, I don’t think that would work 🙂

    @zara, thanks for re-posting.

Lmao at the supposed dig because the boys are wearing the same shoes! Batshit.

  46. beautiful says:

thanks mln76- I, too, have great friends, but it’s my brothers & sisters that you can always count on to know you best. We are raising our kids the same way- older ones looking out for younger, lots of family gatherings – attending eachothers games, performances. All four of my kids have lots of friends, but they know family comes first. Whoever said Angie never smiles has blinders on – there is a couple shots in this set where she & Brad are laughing & smiling at one another as they load the kids in the car. They have so much love & joy for eachother & all their babies- sense of humor helps with a big family, too!

  47. LOVE ANGELINA says:

What kinda questions were those? Uhhh Maddox is 10 years old, he isn’t 16 years old and can plan a crazy birthday bash with just his friends. Even if Mad did have a party with his friends, I am sure his siblings would still be around. I have spent every birthday under 16 with my family. Even after turning 16, I always have some sort of dinner with my family before I go party with my friends. I mean some families are very close and are just like that. No body would ask stupid questions if they were any other celebrity couple but because it Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie people really dig deep to find the stupidest thing to say.

Thats why I tend to drift off when children of celebrities are featured. They are just kids, if they aren’t doing anything completely abnormal, as long as they look happy and well feed. Thats as far as I can care. I am not trying to mentally diagnose them or figure out their wish and desire because no body should know their child better than parent. People looking at kids in a picture don’t know jack about a child’s wishes or desires.

  48. Sue says:

tracking@ How is “Wicked” not a play for kids? My nieces 5 grade music class went to see “Wicked” when it was in NY last year and they study and performed the play for the whole school and why do you think they make toys for it.

  49. Kelly says:

@zara, thanks for posting that stuff. So many celebs are hypocrites, never going the places Angelina goes. @Max, I’ve no clue what you’re going on about. Angelina is a hypocrite if she goes out in public when she doesn’t have a movie to promote? Looks to me like she’s… spending time with her family? Call me crazy.

Or do you mean Angelina is a hypocrite if she doesn’t spend every spare minute that she’s NOT promoting a movie on the ground in Somalia or someplace like that? Both of those notions are pretty ridiculous, I think.

She’s always been skinny, she looks the same as always.

I’d also chime in to say that we don’t know how they ACTUALLY celebrated Maddox’s birthday. Normally people have a party with cake, etc. Celebs put their pants on one leg at a time, just like we do, folks!

  50. serena says:

Maddox looks grumpy while Pax and Shilou seems super excited. I remember it too, when it was my big sister birthday I always got a present too. lol (not the other way around).

  51. zesty says:

The comments that follow posts about them crack me up…a negative comment means you’re a “hater,” people get defensive and all worked up…

Has she seriously always been that thin? Like “see every bone in her body” thin? Between that and the kind of lifeless hair, I’m not thinking she looks that great here. Those kids are adorable, though.

  52. mln76 says:

@zesty I think anyone who criticizes a mother for spending time with her son on his birthday weekend qualifies as a hater.
It cracks me up that anyone would even deign to defend that statement even in the abstract.

  53. DD says:

wow some of these comments are so nitpicky. The one about the children’s shoes. The other about going to a show for a birthday. Hanging around with siblings for their birthday… Really you guys? lol.
Angelina looks good in her usual sexy but modest secretary outfit. She’s always ultra conservative on all their photographed outings compared to the rest of the clan. I wonder why she never dresses down anymore. She’d look killer in a nice pair of jeans. The family should demand a dress down Friday for her for pete’s sake!

  54. Rose says:

@zesty, is this the first time that you have seen a picture of Angie?’ if not, you know she has always been thin. Angie is Brad’s woman, let him worry about her weight. Worry about your weight. Are you within your ideal body weight, (ibw) ?leave Angie alone.

  55. Maya says:

They seem like a genuinely nice, happy family, and I don’t get why people take such joy in attacking them. Anyway, the kids look very cute, Brad’s long(er) hair is growing on me (no pun intended!), and Angie looks lovely as usual. She looks thin, yes, but not skeletal by any means. And her dress is simple, but it works.

  56. kelsey says:

Why does no one (on this site) ever mention how scary skinny she is? Spare me that “She’s too busy to eat!” garbage. She’s a walking skeleton, moreso than the other woman you constantly call out around here.

  57. tracking says:

Have you guys seen the play? I have, in the West End, with nary a child in the audience. The play is about adolescent/young women, is dark, and does not have childish themes. A 5th grade class is age 10-11, the minimum age range I would think for this play. JMO.

  58. Zzzzzzzzz says:

I thought the article said they went to see the show on SATURDAY, a day after Maddox’s birthday. Or am I the only who read that? Regardless, he (and his siblings) look healthy and well cared for. That’s really all that should matter.

  59. Ramona Q says:

OK, Maddox’s friends’ parents are not going to expose their kids to the craziness that comes with being in public with the jolie-pitts. If Maddox has a bday party with his friends, it will be in private. Same with Suri’s friends, and Kingston and Zuma, etc.

He’s not being dragged to a boring adult play w his family on his bday for the purposes of being pimped out for publicity by his parents. Does anyone REALLY think that’s what is going on here? People like that don’t adopt third world children, become United Nations ambassadors and give millions to charity.

This is a kid’s 10th bday outing, why do a lot of you have to be so negative and suspicious about it?

  60. Kate says:

I have seen wicked and I am seriously considering taking my 9 year old when we are in ny this fall. I won’t take my 5 year old, but I think a 9 or 10 year old can handle it. There’s a heck of a lot worse on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.

  61. Dhavy says:

I’m supposed to criticize two boys wearing the same sneakers????

Gee, I guess some people need to find really dumb shit to pick on

  62. zesty says:

Whoa, mln76! I didn’t mean anything specific, just what I read in general every time there are posts about them. You have to admit, people seem to have really strong feelings about them on everything, considering nobody’s ever even met them. THAT’S what I meant. And for example, Rose being snarky about my weight because I simply asked if Jolie had always been this thin. Because I remember her as being a little more fleshed out before. And yes, Rose, I’m a slender person, believe it or not. Yikes.

  63. pwal says:

Overun by little kids? Really? Because Maddox is 10; Pax is 7; Zee is 6, and Shiloh is 5. Stop acting like there is a big gulf in ages. I had brothers and sisters who are 15-16 years older than me and yeah, I got to eat cake and ice cream with them DURING their birthday party. And usually, later, the ‘rents gave them some cash and they went out with their friends.

Besides… Maddox has had some awesome birthdays. From pool parties to military-themed parties with zip-lining and slip and slides to ATVing or go-cart racing, usually with his Pitt cousins. And people have the nerve to piss and moan that he went to a show the day AFTER his birthday?

    Get a grip!

  64. almond says:

I cannot get over her legs. That is not naturally thin. She looks skeletal.

As a side note, some commenters are talking as if they are personally and emotionally invested in Jolie’s life. It might be time for a reality check for a few people.

  65. Rose says:

@zesty, your exact quote was, “has she seriously been this thin, like, ‘see every bone in her body’ thin”? You also said that her hair was “lifeless”‘. Do you think you were being nice saying that about someone you have never met. That was the reason I was “snarky” with you. You have never seen her naked or close up to inspect her hair, have you? to say every bone in her bony, you would have to have see her in the nude, don’t you think.

  66. kiko says:

@brittany thats exactly what i was thinking.now a cute boy in 10 years HGF material!god we are so gross lol

also Shiloh is a spitting image of her dad which i find adorable.what a lovely family!

  67. John Wayne Lives says:

×waves× @ Horsepoor Hanna, hey girl 🙂 ditto on the Team Family!
And I don’t think spending a birthday with the fam is odd. The bday is for fam, and the party is for a childs friends and classmates.

  68. debsa says:

    I love Angie’s Louis Vuitton handbag…

  69. luce says:

always in black, always thin…she’s not a fashionista.
    so what ?
    it’s her life.
    leave her alone.

  70. louiset says:

@zesty: Considering people like Jenn WInd and Monie are attacking Brad and Angelina for getting their sons the same shoes and taking the kids to a musical, the term hater is more than appropriate. Only people with obsessed hate would attack somebody over something so insignificant. I assume you are a hater because you agree with their posts and attacking those defending Brad and Angelina.

Also to the haters who are so horrified that they went to a show for Maddox’s birthday, here’s some good news. It wasn’t his birthday. They went on Saturday and his birthday was on Friday. I’m baffled why people are so angered by this. Nobody knows how he spent his birthday. They may have had a big party with friends on Friday or after the show.

  71. Heaven bound says:

I see the PR is on patrol **wink**

  72. Samihami says:

Growing up military we moved frequently and there were times we had no one else-it was just the four of us (Mom Dad Brother and me). I actually think it made us closer as a family and I have never wished I had a “better” birthday party with friends. I mean, I had a couple of them, but mostly we just had my favorite meal for dinner, cake and ice cream dor dessert and presents afterward. Seemed pretty good to me!

  73. ZenB!tch says:

Yawn…. don’t care… only here to comment on how bad Brad has been looking this year. That beard… ugh

  74. Mia says:

Since when is Wicked an adults only show? Psst…guess what? It’s not.

People will find any reason to hate on this family.

Truth: The kids were well-behaved and engaged in the show!
Fantasy: Well, obviously the kids are so unhappy, they couldn’t find the joy in flying monkeys, witches, and music!

Fantasy: Brad & Angelina called the press.
Truth: Let’s just forget the fact that a good pic of the family can net the photographer $100K. The photogs are doing it for altruistic reasons. Obviously.

  75. zesty says:

    @louiset
Nope, not a “hater.” I just find the way people respond to this couple interesting, because it seems so invested and vehement on both sides. Personally, I’d spend my child’s birthday with my family, and the shoe thing is just silly. I don’t think more or less of them than I do any other celebrity couple. I questioned Jolie’s thinness and made a comment about her hair looking more limp because, in my opinion, she’s looked much prettier in other pictures. I also stand by my comment that the kids are adorable. I guess I should’ve been much more careful in selecting my words on this site called “Celebitchy.” 🙂

  76. hatekyle says:

again, publicity or not, angie does go to refugee camps all over the world…and she gives away 30% of her earnings to charity… while most actresses spend 30% of their earnings in botox and other surgeries.
you worry too much where she goes, next time let’s talk about where gerald butler’s fingers go.

  77. lrm says:

how funny-=ppl ‘hate on’ dozens of other celebs, on this blog, who are ‘too thin’…but when pppl say it abuout AJ, then it’s ‘worry about your own weight, you are all jealous, haters, etc or get a life not pick on someone you don’t know’…
UM, that is the POINT of celebitchy-to gossip about ppl we do not k now.

    geesh.
i think the fans also need to get some perspective-these are just ppl who happen to be actors and who happen to do charity work. i’m sure they have good and bad qualities, like we all do.
and these are chidren-i DO wish the blogs would put kids of celebs off limits for jokes and commentary other than ‘how cute’.
I just find it so distasteful to discuss in any mean way, children who will read about their lives as such in the future.

In any case, AJ IS too thin. For real, people…when younger, she had far more meat on her bones. she looks too thin and has for years now. And I am someone who has also been too thin and am very slender-it can be hard to put on weight sometimes, but it’s not on purpose. but she is unhealthy looking IMO.
And since it is a celebrity blog, i cna give that opinion freely.

  78. lisa says:

    @zesty

I don’t think everyone that is not a fan is a HATER. I think a lot of the fans read the comments and it is pretty obvious who is here to slam them on things that they never say about another celebrity. That is an agenda. Them going to a play the DAY AFTER a birthday. Why is that news. Them going to a toy store, or grocery shopping; why is that so much a big deal. I see other celebs doing this on celebrity blogs. The comment are Oh look they are having family time. But if it is Brad/Angie some comment it is PR. So check out other sites and see the celebs out shopping with their kids. I can’t count the number of celebrities taking their kids to premiers that are for their movies or others. And there is NEVER a comment of them pimping their children. The JP kids have never walked a red carpet. They go through a side door what 2 times now. And they are accused of pimping their children for PR. There are not pictures of them at home with their children. Outside a few baby pics and the W shoot that you could not see any real part of their home. I saw the Smiths showing very intimate pictures of their home. Nothing. David Beckham is seen out with his sons and tweeting pics of his baby daughter..Nothing. Hugh Jackman is seen out with his kids way more than the JPs.. but is he pimping them. NOPE.

that is the double standard..and that is what the fans react too. If these comments were done to everyone.. fine.. But they are not.

The double standard is the craw in our nerves. Not that everyone does not like them.

  79. Anne says:

I find it funny to read the comments suggesting that Maddox looks unhappy or not excited, etc.
A picture captures a fraction of a second in time, and yet people have this tendency to analyze them as if they could build an entire psychological profile from that one photo.
Maybe Maddox wasn’t excited for that fraction of a second. Maybe by the time he turned his head around he was laughing. How do you know?

  80. Claire78 says:

Last year I took my daughter, who was 6 at the time, to see ‘Wicked’ in New York. It was an extra special treat as we live in NZ and its highly unlikey we will never get this amazing show. She already knew all the music and sat completely spellbound the whole time and it was so exciting for me to let her see it. She was not so keen on the flying monkeys, but other than that was not scared in the slightest. I didn’t think twice about taking her and some people might think its bad (but I don’t care), but I would have loved to take my 4 year old son as he knows all the music too. Wicked is tame in comparasion to something like Ben 10. Anyway how cool they could take all the kids and spend an awesome day together – they are lucky kids.

  81. May says:

That’s funny, I’m listening to the music right now because it’s one of my faves.

Kaiser, asked an excellent question about Maddox and whether he would want to celebrate with his younger siblings
or not. I think some kids want a big kid party and to keep their little brothers and sisters out of it sometimes and other times it’s a big family thing anyhow so you just deal.

But I just saw how old his siblings are and I’m surprised they took them to see this show. It’s pretty family friendly but I’ve seen it twice and the program says it recommends the show for EIGHT year olds and up because some scenes (like the flying monkeys and Madama Morrible?) may be too intense for the kids.

I think it’s just an age recommenedation and not specifically a rule but I’m not sure. I never gave it much thought because I’m not a mom and over 18 but I don’t think I would take anyone younger than 8 or 10. I don’t think I’d be a strict parent per say but I take age advisaries seriously and I just don’t think I’d bring anyone much younger than Maddox to see it.

Plus, if there were younger kids there they are annoying to other patrons who are old enough to sit through the play and not ask questions, make noise or walk around. It’s very annoying.

IF they had wanted to take Shiloh, Pax and Z to a play Mary Poppins would have been more appropriate for their ages.

I’m not an Angie basher and I have been a fan of hers for years but I’m beginning to see what some of the criticism is about. This is annoying to me too because I remember I hated when people bring their much too young kids and they distract and annoy or can’t handle the material.

It’s not Sweeny Todd (actually the design of the sets were by the same people I believe!) but still take them to see Mary Poppins instead and give Maddox his own day out or his own party!

  82. Cheyenne says:

hatekyle: next time let’s talk about where gerald butler’s fingers go.
    ==============================================

Now now, do you really want to go there? ROFL!

  83. mln76 says:

You guys know that Wicked is just a sort of prequel/reimagining of the Wizard of Oz and totally kid friendly right?
@ zesty I didn’t think you calling her skinny was a big deal she is really thin and always has been I just don’t understand why someone could look at that first comment putting Angelina down for not being in Africa the day after her oldest son’s birthday and not get a little bit offended or only accuse ‘loons’ of being over the top. Look at any celeb site consistently this woman gets attacked with a special vitriol. Why is it OK to put her down for spending time with her children and not OK for ‘loons’ to point out that it’s a hateful sentiment?

  84. Chloe says:

Nah. I don’t think there’s anything unusual about a 10 year old spending his birthday with his siblings. A lot of 10 year olds are still kids. I think the wish for ‘alone time’ begins a bit later.

I’ve only browsed through the comments today because I’m getting a bit tired of some of them but @the poster who criticized the childrens’ shoes: Honestly, what kind of person does that?

I’m always stunned to discover that a family exiting a theatre or a toy store can generate negative comments.

  85. Pity says:

@lisa – I think that the JP’s get this reputation due to the fact that they “sell” pictures. For example David and Victoria Beckham could have made millions in the UK for their family pictures of Harper. But instead of “selling” (even if they gave to charity) they post their own pictures. That way they control the pictures. They are proud parents wanting to show their children off – not for money. As for Hugh Jackman – no we do not see pictures of his children more then the JP’s. We have seen pictures of the JP’s and children multiple times in the last two weeks. Almost triple of any other celebrity. As for the Smiths. They have given one magazine pictures of them and their home. WE have seen the JP’s home in the same magazine, we have seen the JP’s (angie in her nightgown, angie breastfeeding, etc.) multiple times. The Smiths got critized just like the JP when they did this. No double standard here. Read the comments on the Smiths – people thought it was pathetic them showing their wealth and their home. Tom and Katie Cruz get crazy amount of hate for taking Suri shopping. All stars get critized for “shopping” and putting their children out there for pictures. Notice Johnny Depp – it never happens. If he can do it anyone can. I say go to blogs and start defending Tom Cruz and you will recognize the hate and rude comments out there about a little girl. It is just as bad.

@Mia ” Let’s just forget the fact that a good pic of the family can net the photographer $100K.” This was true about 7 years ago. REcent pictures are going for very cheap. They are over exposed now. Notice there were hardly any paps waiting for them outside the theatre. Pics of this family make no more now then pictures of most families. WHen you get several pictures a week it decreases the value of pictures.

See here is the problem. Notice this quote above from a fan. “Besides… Maddox has had some awesome birthdays. From pool parties to military-themed parties with zip-lining and slip and slides to ATVing or go-cart racing, usually with his Pitt cousins.” How does she know all this about this family. It is because they let the press know. They make sure there are pictures, or a source tells the tabloids. Do we know about Johnny or Matt’s kids parties? No and yes everyone would be just as interested in his kids lives. He just doesn’t let them in.

  86. Hibiscus says:

    Nice performance.

There must be nothing better than spend a nice afternoon with your family and use the event as a promotion for all the products you sell – all in one go.

    Everybody’s happy:
The kids, the parents, the managers, the film-producers, Luis Vuitton, other fashionlabels featured in this outing, the fans, the Wicked-production, …

    Great!

  87. Vicki says:

I’m with the people ethat said Wicked is more for 10 year olds and up. A kid can definitely spend his birthday with siblings (of course!) but this show wasn’t not for all of them!

I had read that the dragon, flying monkeys and when the wizards head makes an appearance that small children would get scared.

    musicalschwartz.com/wicked-for-kids.htm

    Comments from Carol de Giere:

I’m often asked: Is Wicked appropriate for children? Wicked is not a children’s show, as in for pre-school kids. Young people about the age of 10 and older are going wild for it. The applause has been tremendous during matinee crowds with large numbers of school or youth groups in the audiences. There’s discrimination issues, love triangles, fascinating set pieces and costumes, powerfully belted songs, tender songs, characters who are transformed through time, and a storyline plotted like a mystery novel. No foul language and only playful violence.

  88. Juliesunflower says:

@max: your padded room is ready. Love Jolie for her kindness and for the love and care shown towards Maddox since he was a baby . Happy birthday Maddox!

  89. mln76 says:

Pity the Beckhams god love em have been constantly twittering photos of their daughter that have ended up on every website. I don’t see how they can ‘control’ it when Micheal K and others will be snarking on their kid for the next week. They like many others were probably P O’d that they couldn’t get enough money in the UK or a guaranteed cover on People.

As for Hugh he isn’t as famous pics of his kids don’t sell as much but I recall seeing an episode where Hugh’s daughter was singing ‘Paparazzi’ to the paparazzi on TMZ. I think Hugh’s a great guy but I found it a bit disturbing.

And the Smiths go beyond having pics of their kids to the egotism of doing their best to make their kids a pop star and a movie star at the expense of their education (according to Willow she doesn’t get to go to school alot). So there is no way you can point to them as having discretion with their child-rearing.

  90. Runs with Scissors says:

@Pity, same ‘ol same ‘ol with you, your “facts” fail to see the obvious –

“Do we know about Johnny or Matt’s kids parties? No and yes everyone would be just as interested in his kids lives. ”

Um, actually no, we aren’t as interested in his kid’s lives. Same with screeching about how we don’t know Meryl Streep’s kids, etc. They aren’t married to OUTRAGEOUSLY FAMOUS people. People just don’t care as much as they do about the Jolie-Pitts. Period.

And the bullshit about the Beckhams choosing to post their pics instead of selling them (and donating all the money to charity, like the Jolie-Pitts) is absurd.

Someone like Posh would never want to be compared to more popular couples. Their pictures simply wouldn’t fetch as much money and they probably don’t want that (perceived) embarrassment. Remember how people scoffed at (was is Maria Carey?) because their baby pics didn’t fetch much money? Trying to make the Beckhams seem somehow “above” selling their image is just laughable.

“REcent pictures are going for very cheap. They are over exposed now. Notice there were hardly any paps waiting for them outside the theatre. Pics of this family make no more now then pictures of most families.”

Lol, so are you a paparazzo now? Are you actually claiming to be an authority on how much pics of the JPs sell for (cross referenced against “most families” to boot? HA! 🙂

Sorry to pain you, but, along with the Royal Family, this is probably THE most famous couple in the entire world. Yes, more than Johnny and Vanessa, yes, more than Matt and Lucy (?), yes, more than The Beckhams, and yes, (I know this hurts you to hear, so I’ll whisper it… *yes, more than Aniston and ANYONE she’ll ever be with* sorry.

EDIT: @mln76 I see you beat me to it 🙂

  91. Dorrie says:

    @min76:

Can’t speak for zesty or anyone else, but I wasn’t offended by that first comment about Angie not being in Africa because it was so over the top. Stuff like that, I just think “huh?” and move on. I think what’s “loony” to me is when fans believe that defending a celebrity on a gossip site is a battle to be waged, day after day. Of course, that just brings out the “haters” more, who seem to be on a mission as well.

  92. Rena says:

@pity, just the facts as to the demand for JP pics which sadly remains tremendous. Truth rather than your many fabrications based on zero –

Michael Lavalette, managing editor of GossipCenter.com tells Fox411 that “the revenue stream from celebrity pictures totals $3 billion.”

Who brings in the most clicks on his site?

“The ‘Twilight’ stars Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and anything Kardashian” he says.

Lavalette says a photo of Brad and Angelina with their brood could go for $20,000 on the web, $50,000 for TV, and $100,000 for print.

Compare that to a picture of Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian on their honeymoon which probably fetched around $5,000 for the web, up to $15,000 on TV, and between $30,000-$50,000 in print.

  93. Lucky Charm says:

Really, Kaiser? I STILL spend every birthday with my younger siblings. I have four kids that always spent every birthday together when they were young. Now it’s only the two youngest but we still celebrate their birthdays together. And they were all also very well behaved when we were out in public, because they were taught to be. There’s absolutely nothing strange about that.

By all accounts, these children are all very well behaved and a very close knit, loving family. I would find it strange if they didn’t celebrate birthdays together as a family.

  94. N.D. says:

I really dig this look on Brad, hope he didn’t ditch it soon after the filming is over.

To everyone longing to see more of other celebrity kids pics – don’t mistake this site for papz database. Just because celebitchy doesn’t post them often enough or at all doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

  95. Pity says:

Um Johnny is “OUTRAGEOUSLY FAMOUS”. Just as many people would be interested in his children (not you but others) he just doesn’t let it happen

And yes obviously there pictures don’t even sell much anymore. Notice are are about three paps outside the gate especially set up for the paps and a few on the other side. You can’t have pictures everyday and expect people to care.

And the Beckhams are popular world wide – the least popular in the US. They could have made millions – they just have never done that. How much nicer is it to post a picture then have crazy paps following you and shouting. NOw they have decreased the amount for the first picture in a classy way. Personally I think this family is really great. Love them. If you had a choice of being a girl in any family in hollywood – Harper has the good life. No doubt.

  96. Pity says:

Um Johnny is “OUTRAGEOUSLY FAMOUS”. Just as many people would be interested in his children (not you but others) he just doesn’t let it happen.

  97. N.D. says:

after reading the comments some more:

It’s really funny how people are deeply concerned about Brangelina kids. They get all worked up about hypothetical issues like kids being disturbed by the play or annoying other patrons etc.

Relax, guys! There were tons of people in attendance and quite a few of them twitted about Brangelina kids and none mentioned them crying, complaining, behaving inappropriatedly and bothering anybody. Don’t see any signs of disturbance in these photos either. So all in all I think you can sleep the sleep of the just tonight 🙂 Untill Brangelina take their kids to some other play 😀

  98. N.D. says:

@Pity Just type in Johny Depp kids or Beckham kids and you’ll be surprised. There are plenty of pics of their kids.

It’s just they’re not as popular among internet public. Their posts don’t attract as many commenters, so not enough ad money, to earn so no point in posting about them often for blog owners.

Unholy triangle created this undying interest in anything Brangelina with people coming to voice their concern about boys wearing similar shoes and Somali refugees missing Angie so badly just now no matter what the actual post is about. That’s why every single pic of them gets posted and when there are no real (even if mundane) news about them, there are posts about tabloids speculations. Want them gone – stop coming back and commenting on their every post. Go promote other celebs with your attention in their stead.

  99. hatekyle says:

@pity: johnny’s lifestyle is different than the beckams and moreso the pitts. brad and angie are not only mega hollywood couples but very VISIBLE humanitarians. the interest on them is far greater than the johnny’s and the beckam’s combined. the pitts are almost america’s royalty and their market value surpasses that of other famous families. no matter what they “CHOOSE” — unlike “RECLUSE” johnny or the “TWEETING” beckams — the pitts will always be prime targets of the paps. Their SCOPE of activism and DEGREE of popularity remain unmatched by any other popular families.

  100. Cheyenne says:

Pity, you’re hilarious. You think photos of the family haven’t been getting a good price for the past seven years? Did you forget that People mag paid $14 million for the family pics three years ago? You see to be pulling a lot of comments out of your butt that have nothing to do with reality. If their photos don’t sell, why do they have a hundred cameras in their faces every time they step out the door?

  101. hatekyle says:

i only realized this about the pitts when i stepped out of my silly romcom world and syndicated friends re-run. ’nuff said.

  102. Runs with Scissors says:

@Pity, I didn’t say Depp isn’t famous for God’s sake, I said he isn’t married to anyone outrageously famous so there is less interest in them.

Wow, your reading comp skills are nil.

@hatekyle: “i only realized this about the pitts when i stepped out of my silly romcom world and syndicated friends re-run.” 🙂

That’s three times you’ve cracked me up on this thread alone, thanks!

  103. Juliesunflower says:

I do not know what other adopted children look like because they do not have the same level of care, attention and love as Maddox ( Angie took him everywhere – locations and premieres carrying him in a sling as a baby), Pax and Zahara. Even with the arrival of Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox they are not pushed to the background. All the Jolie-Pitt are equally loved and that is why they are the number one family. Bravo Brad and Angie!!

  104. pilafprincess says:

This is a photo op. No “mother” wears a black dress and nude heels with blown out hair to her child’s 10th birthday. And no 10-year-old wants to go to ‘Wicked’. Take the poor kid to Chuk e Cheese or something, but Wicked is nearly beyond me, a 30-yr-old, so certainly isn’t appropriate for a CHILD. And, before the hate, no it really isn’t beyond me…but seriously…10?!

  105. mln76 says:

@pilfaprincess uhm maybe it’s hard for you to grasp the story LOL but to think you know what Maddox actually wanted for his birthday is a bit arrogant and deluded no?

  106. wrong says:

no, it wasn’t Maddox’s birthday- it’s the day AFTER Maddox’s birthday. As far as I’m concerned, Angie is the only one dressed appropriately for the theater. Of course, we’ve seen the dress at least twice before and the shoes dozens of times- some photo op. I guess the only way to have no “photo ops” would be to never leave the house. Kudos to Brad & Angie for taking their beautiful well-behaved kids to live performances- nothing like it.

  107. Vickyb says:

I live about an hour outside London and my parents took my sister and I to a show for our birthday every year – it was a treat. The first one was Anything Goes when I was five, the last was Chicago when I was seventeen. When I was eighteen I was taken to the opera (a family tradition). I’d like to do exactly the same thing with my daughter in eighteen years time (am due in five weeks!). That was our birthday treat, and then we had a simple little party at home as well, with friends. So no surprise in the taking the kids to see a show.

And we sat and watched the play because we were normal kids and knew how to behave – no surprise there.

And of course my little sister went to my birthday parties, and I went to hers – it’s a family!! Sharing is best, most siblings understand that. So no surprise there either.

  108. great expectations says:

These kids are VERY scrutinized every time they leave the house and by all reports they are very polite and well behaved. Such behavior only happens with a lot of hard work, so Brad and Angie should be commended. My sister is always amazed that my kids are so well behaved yet she refuses to take her kids on airplanes or to live situations (Inc church) because they will have “meltdowns”. I think that if you set expectations high for kids and provide opportunities at an early age for practicing good behavior, it pays divideds down the road.

  109. Esmom says:

The boys look so darn cute in their “dress up” clothes — exactly what my sons, about their ages, wear when I need them to look semi-presentable…pants without elastic waistbands, shirts that button up and shoes that are tied! That about all they can manage before they’re back in their athletic gear and flip flops.

Lol at how mismatched Brad and Angie look. She is theater appropriate (although the People shot of her looks like a wax figure) while he looks like he just went or is about to go dirt biking.

  110. Eve says:

I wasn’t going to say anything but then I saw the nude shoes…they look almost like a continuation of her legs. Black shoes would have been a better choice.

  111. anonymous says:

The children seems traumatized by the paps why don’t they leave them alone, enough is enough, why do they follow them so much, they seem as if they want to wisk away they children quickly. Some people claim they like the publicity it doesn’t seem so. It’s Brad Pitt the paps follow, every woman he has been with have had to suffer the rush of publicity, Angie and Billy Bob didn’t have this problem. I guess I am part of the problem because I always pick up the magazines that have Brad and Angie on it. Imagine living n a mansion and your kids cannot play in the yard, well that’s the price of fame.

  112. Hmmm says:

Brad is an ugly old man still trying to look young. Too bad he doesn’t seem to care about Angelina withering away. You would think he would want the mother of his children to be healthy. Oh well. I guess since he’s “hot” according to women with bad taste it’s all good.

  113. Melissa says:

As beautiful as I think AJ is, I watched Gia the other day for the first time in twelve years and she is much much much thinner now. I think it’s best to just concentrate on her pretty face and what she is trying to do to help the world.

  114. Very Telling says:

@ Hmmm Well I just looked at pics of AJ with Mad in 2003 and she was the same size she is now. So I guess she was been “withering” away before Brad.Despite her “withering” away she healthy enough to birth 3 healthy babies and strong enough to carry both Shiloh and Zahara weeks ago at the airport. BTW Brad looks mature and Sexy IMO. Lovely family as many have mentioned before we DK what they did for Maddox’s bday. I see Shiloh has a doll from the show so obviously its 4 kids too. BTW I’m still waiting for “insider” info from the poster who claims her” aunt” knows Angie’s family so well.@pilafprincess If its a “Photo op” why isn’t the rest of the family dressed up like Angie. In a photo op everyone looks good and happy(smiling),right.

  115. Hmmm says:

I don’t know what photos you were looking at , Very telling, but Angelina appeared to be her healthiest during her single mother years. 2002-2004. She even LOOKS healthier during the billy bob years (minus the time she painted her eyebrows jet black. lol)…It seems like the “fans” that became fans after brad pitt don’t want to accept that there were times when Angelina was way healthier and fuller faced. she was thinner and sickly at times she was on DRUGS and unhealthy. Angelina was always very honest about that stuff.

  116. hatekyle says:

i got thinner, too. thanks to gerald for bursting my bubble butt.

  117. Camille says:

Angelina and Brad are such a sexy, beautiful couple, they both look gorgeous. LOVE them together. I don’t care how they came to be together either :p .

And how gorgeous is Shiloh. She is such a pretty girl, love the monkey.

@Kaiser: Shiloh’s birthday is the same day as mine, so I always end up remembering hers lol :-\.

  118. bugsy says:

No negativity about the show, the shoes, the choice of outfit, etc. I don’t have a problem with any of it. But you people are completely BLIND if you can’t see that this woman is extremely, unhealthily, underweight. She has the nastiest body I HAVE EVER SEEN. And in my profession, that’s saying a lot. And keep dreamin’ Rose, cuz you don’t have to be a fattie to recognize that Jolie has one or more of three issues: 1. Anorexia, 2. Bulimia, or 3. drug addiction. Sorry ladies. When your head is wider than your body, there’s a problem. And the fact that her hairline is receding by the day is also telling. Take the time to sit back, relax, and pull off the rose-colored shades and Brangeloonie helmet. If you google ANY picture of Angie before or just after she hooked up with Brad, she has so much more going for her in the looks department than she’s got now. She had more weight, more muscle tone, and frankly, more hair. Just keepin it real. Tootles.

  119. Funnelweb says:

Pity, you ‘choose’ to believe Brad and Angelina tip off the paps because it suits what you want to believe. But you forget that Brangelina are so famous, they virtually have paps following them 24/7 and these paps would know the kids birthdays so would know when to follow. Neither Angelina or Brad tip the press off as they don’t need to the press follow them 24/7.

  120. Lucky Charm says:

I’ve tried several times to post this on BP and on a JT thread over at JJ. For some reason it isn’t showing up (under permanent moderation or removed) so I’ll try over here…

I can’t wait for Heidi to start dating a tall, good looking & wealthy guy. That is the type of guy that Jennifer’s fans wanted her to be with, so they could brag about how she (finally) upgraded from Brad, However, that’s not the case and Justin T. is what she got. He’s a downgrade from almost everyone she’s been with since the divorce, which has only made them mad, jealous and hysterical. No one can deny that Brad seriously upgraded when he went from Jennifer to Angelina. I wish Heidi well and respect her for taking the high road, that shows how classy she is. On the other hand, if Jennifer was pregnant with Justin’s baby, that would definitely be them “saying something first” and proof of an affair, and I couldn’t wait to hear Heidi finally open up and tell the real story, lol! August 8th, 2011 at 3:55 am This is a photo op.

You’re not raising live children are you? Please tell me you just have a collection of used beanie babies you pretend to raise.

Black and tan in the summer? How scandalous! LOL! Where DO you live that you find all these perfectly normal things so odd?

max (# 1), Angelina has been to that refugee camp. Maybe this time the UNHCR asked one of the other goodwill ambassadors to go (there are about six or seven of them), but the media hasn’t covered it. The media likes to cover Angelina.

“But you forget that Brangelina are so famous, they virtually have paps following them 24/7” Sure whatever you say. You just keep believing.
