Kristen Stewart’s retro W Mag shoot: gorgeous or ridiculous?

ks5

Kristen Stewart is the cover girl for the September “Fashion Issue” of W Magazine. People are already complaining about the amount of Photoshop that went into K-Stew’s pictorial, but I think it’s only aggressively ‘Shopped in one photo. Kristen, for all of her real or perceived faults, it generally a great model in fashion photo shoots. I love the vibe of this one – 1960s sex kitten meets Valley of the Dolls druggie. Kristen should consider big hair and dark eye makeup for her red carpet looks, because it really works on her. The full W Mag interview (conducted by Lynn Hirschberg) is here, and here are some highlights:

Kristen on her start as a child actor: “It’s weird, because I would be the last person in my school to be in plays, but I was forced to sing a song in a school thing. I sang a dreidl song, which is funny for me. I’ve never celebrated Hanukkah—it wasn’t in my upbringing, but it was one of those deals where everybody has to pick a song or participate somehow in the chorus. It wasn’t the normal dreidl song; I can’t really remember the words, but it was a more serious dreidl song. The dreidl was huge, it was really honored. And that’s how I met my agent, who was in the audience. I was eight. I was nine when I did my first movie, The Safety of Objects.”

She was never cutesy: “I did two commercials, one for Porsche, but I was definitely not the type of child one would cast in a commercial or any TV that you’d typically go out for as a young kid. I wasn’t the type of kid who would be in stuff that kids watch. I wasn’t cutesy.”

Working with David Fincher in Panic Room: “I didn’t realize that 80 takes wasn’t normal. But it’s funny: Some of my proudest moments from film sets are in Panic Room. My character had seizures. Just being able to say, I was 10 years old and I broke all the blood vessels in my eye on that take, is cool. It was fun.”

On her “unusual tomboy quality”: “I have brothers, and that so-called boyish quality was something that I was deathly self-conscious about when I was younger. I was, like, No, I’m a girl. Actually, I’m still embarrassed to say that.”

On auditioning for Twilight: “I don’t really know what to say. I just knew I wanted to work. And I did. I was working when I read the script for Twilight. I read the script before I read the book. I actually did the audition before reading the book, which was kind of crazy. Obviously, I tore all four books apart over the course of three years, but initially I had no idea that Twilight was such a big deal.

She likes vampires: “I f-cking love me a vampire [Laughs]. I was 17 when I read Twilight, and at the time it was so perfect for me. The script was about young kids who think they can handle stuff that they just can’t. And they’re going to do it anyway. Because, why not? Just torture yourself. I relate to that. Vampires are a little dangerous—and we girls like to test ourselves.”

On the Breaking Dawn wedding: “Awesome. This was my first wedding. It was insane. And odd. The wedding dress experience was a huge deal. I tried on one version of the dress, and it was like tweak and tweak and alter and tweak and change, and then it’s done. BFD dress. Huge deal. [The wedding] was major. The last Twilight book is filled with BFDs, things that people have been waiting for, for so long. For me, it was ridiculously dramatic: I get married, give birth, the baby has an incredibly accelerated growth rate we’re all very concerned about, and I say goodbye to my dad for the last time ever. It was all big—I could never go, Whew, I’m losing this character.”

Saying goodbye to Bella: “I’d been anticipating that end-of-Bella moment. I was going, Oh, my God—I wonder how I’m going to feel. And the last scene of the shoot was at the wedding. Every single character was there on set. At the end of that day, I was kind of whacked. And so I never really had that moment then. Instead, it happened later. We needed to film one more sort of honeymoon scene and we went to the Virgin Islands. After that scene, my true final scene, I felt like I could shoot up into the night sky and every pore of my body would shoot light. I felt lighter than I’ve ever felt in my life.”

On not being “in control” of her life: Yeah—and that time [between 17 and 21] has been sort of nuts for me. In film, I have chronicled every stage of my life since I was nine. And it’s more intense now, obviously, because I’m not in control of it anymore….no. Not really. Not if I want to think solely about what I really like to do. It’s a funny thing: You want so badly for people to see what you do—you’re proud of it—and I like the effect that movies have on people. But the attention can also make me uncomfortable. In certain situations, people say to me, “C’mon, what’s wrong with you?” I apologize. I love what I’m doing, but I’m a little uncomfortable.”

On watching her own movies: “It’s not like I sit around watching my movies again and again, but I’ve never quite believed actors when they say they don’t watch themselves. I hear them going around the block to make excuses for why they don’t watch their work. It’s bullsh-t. Sorry, guys—I know you watch your stuff. [When I watch my stuff] I get embarrassed. It’s weird, too: I’m 10 years old in Panic Room, and that’s a version of myself that’s pretty far away, but it doesn’t feel that far away to me. Occasionally my dad will flip the TV on, and it’s cool to look at some movie that I’m in for one second. And then, ‘Dude, off. Now. Like, cut it out.’”

[From W Magazine]

I think this is one of Kristen’s better interviews. I like that Lynn H. didn’t ask a million questions about what it’s like for Kristen to be so famous, and we didn’t have to hear Kristen whine about how she can’t go to the mall. What I find most interesting is that Kristen consistently talks about her career ambitions, and how she loves to work. More work for her means more promotional duties, meaning more interviews and appearances in which she’s going to have fall back into her affected emo shtick, and she’s going to be slumped over, biting her lip and glowering at people. But she’s getting better (hopefully). Here’s the video of her interview from W Magazine. Her speech patterns, they bug.

  1. tidalsoul says:

    beautiful!

  2. Abby says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this cause I can’t stand her, but wow, she looks stunning.

  3. mln76 says:

I actually like this interview. Maybe she’s just less annoying in print?

  4. Eve says:

Kristen Stewart, is that you????? She looks gorgeous here: a mix of young Priscilla Presley and Brooke Shields (especially on that third picture).

  5. workerbee says:

Does anyone else feel like she resembles Linnocent in these pics?

  6. Eleonor says:

the vintage look really works for her, this is her first shoot I like, event if they photoshopped the lips too much. I think on the cover she looks like Olivia Wilde.

  7. spinner says:

She really is a beautiful girl. She has a lot of maturing to do. It will be interesting watching her grow into herself.

  8. guesty says:

    gorgeous.

  9. tapioca says:

@Workerbee: I see it! And she looks gorgeous too.

Wild horses still couldn’t make me watch Breaking Dawn though. Or anything else this chick is “acting” in.

  10. Shay says:

    THANK GOD
Now that she knows how gorgeous she looks like this, I hope she tries to incorporate this into some of her red carpet looks

  11. eileen says:

I’m keeping down the vomit as I say she looks stunning! Grrrr I can’t stand this chick, but I’ll be the first to give her some major kudos for this pictorial….or kudos to whoever set it up!

  12. Hanna says:

They photoshopped her into an unrecognizable thing. They made her lips bigger, trimmed her pointy chin down, hid her front bunny theeth by enlarging the other two on the sides. The eyebrows are ridiculous. So the only way for her to look feminine is to try to make her look like someone else. She really looks like Lohan in that first one.

  13. hairball says:

She looks great in these pics.

  14. brin says:

Could not believe that was her! Reminds me of Prisilla Presley or Liz Taylor.

  15. Ari says:

I agree she looks fantastic and should make this look her own – not so big hair because its kinda just for fun but definitely KEEP THOSE EYES!

  16. nellie says:

Cant hate on the girl, she looks great..

  17. Ruth says:

workerbee- totally-very very linnocent. Yeah she looks good but its the same monochromatic identikit thing they do with every single young starlet. pretty but totally unspecial

  18. jesikabelcher says:

I think this is a GREAT look for her!!

  19. Lisa says:

    Team Kristen! I like her.

  20. Wow! I’ve never thought she looked so gorgeous! This is the best photoshoot I’ve ever seen of her.

Big hair is very good on her.

  21. Liz says:

I don’t particularly care for her, but she looks pretty here.

  22. SolitaryAngel says:

    WOW. Nice!

  23. lin234 says:

I’ve always thought she was really beautiful. She is gorgeous in these.

  24. Vickyb says:

I definitely thought of Priscilla Presley, before she looked cray-cray-plastic. Christine Keeler (in that gorgeous B&W shot of her in a sweater) and Barbarella in the leather jacket shot. She looks stunning.

  25. malia says:

She’s not photoshopped overly, she’s just been made up to look like a 60’s version of Elizabeth Taylor and Priscilla Presley with heavy makeup. Like someone else said, only one photo looks photoshopped a lot.

I’m not a big fan of hers, but the reality is she dresses down for a hollywood chick and if she WANTED to look hot all the time, she could with the right makeup and hair cause she has very pretty features.

  26. AB says:

    co-sign – Gorgeous!

  27. mia girl says:

WOW I think these shots are pretty amazing. And quite a score to be on the cover of W’s Sept. fashion issue.

The interview is good/interesting and I watched the accompanying video and think that she’s much less awkward than usual and she actually smiles. It’s a shame that she’s known for her sullen expressions because she looks really pretty with a smile on her face.

  28. Quest says:

Gulp! I actually have to admit that I like it.

  29. ladybert62 says:

I like the picture with the red outfit – but overall, they do not look like her.

  30. hello says:

Thank GOD she is so focused on her career goals. I thought you guys of all people would at least give credit to an actress who seems to be dedicated to her job. Linnocent she is not!

I thought it was especially cool when she mentioned “A Woman Under the Influence” as a challenging role she would want… there’s a girl who can back up vague claims of what she wants to do (what would Lindsay claim was a dream role– Megan Foc in Transformers?) Kristen is young but she shows so much promise.

  31. cara says:

she’s not suppossed to look like herself-they’ve done her up like a 60’s vixen with priscilla Presly makeup cause it’s a stylized shoot. that being said, this look totally works on her features. I always thought she had a great face, she just doesn’t wear 10 pounds of makeup like most of her peers to really highlight it.

  32. rory says:

while I think her acting is very weak, I always thought she had killer features, and this photoshoot really magnifies that. Great nose and eyes and cheekbones and lips. 60’s looks work for her, she should try it more often on the red carpet.

  33. Micah says:

    She looks Awesome!!!

  34. Jeez says:

Her eyes loil dead in every photo. Smize, girl, smize!

  35. G says:

I’m not much of a fan, but it’s good to see her look different…and gorgeous. Only problem is that she seems to have the same expression in every photo.

  36. i.want.shoes says:

    CLOSE. YOUR. MOUTH.

That’s all I see when I look at her pictures.

  37. JaneWonderfalls says:

Not really a K.Stewart fan, but she actually looks stunning in these photos, but somehow I can’t get pass her boring ass personality, onscreen and in interviews.

  38. tanya says:

grrrrrrr…..very sex kittenish, stew. Didn’t know you had it in ya.

  39. riley says:

wow, what a knockout. I always thought she was pretty, but she can do vixen very well too. I think she just goes without makeup all the time while everyone else in her industry is made up, so it’s easy to forget how pretty she is.

  40. ann carter says:

    so pretty.

  41. George says:

I am DEAD! Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Sexy, mysterious, HOT!

    wipes drool!

  42. Melanie says:

Holy shit, where is tomboy Kristen gone?

I always thought she was very pretty. I like that she never played on her looks in her roles. If anything, she tends to gravitate towards roles where she is not the ‘sexy’ girlfriend. That is admirable, especially when there is so much pressure to look perfect all the time.

I don’t see what the big deal is about her speech patterns either. She’s pretty funny in that interview.

  43. Psyren says:

She looks fantastic in these pics but she really does just have that one facial expression doesn’t she?

  44. Melanie says:

“On watching her own movies: “It’s not like I sit around watching my movies again and again, but I’ve never quite believed actors when they say they don’t watch themselves. I hear them going around the block to make excuses for why they don’t watch their work. It’s bullsh-t. Sorry, guys—I know you watch your stuff. ”

    HAHA! Good on her!

  45. L says:

    Flawless TBH

Looking forward to Breaking Dawn. Fcuk the haters LOL

  46. Ell says:

I really like her and her work but I’ve never seen a Twilight movie.

I don’t understand why people say negative things about her just because she’s not an extrovert and a bit off beat, difference should be embraced.

Pics are stunning but hardly surprising as she’s so attractive.

  47. Stubbylove says:

She does actually look gorgeous here – I’d like to see more diversity in the pics though – since it is W and it is a fashion issue.

  48. Amy says:

    @workerbee — I’m seeing Linnocent, too.

  49. jessy says:

wow, is that you kristen Stewart ? She’s very pretty here.STUNNING. Haven’t liked W mags covers for so long but they’re totally redeeming themselves with this one.

  50. z says:

    perfectly symmetrical face..

  51. natalia says:

    Girl boner

  52. Jake says:

This is photoshopped for God’s sake. Look at her candid photos and you’ll see they changed her completely.

Her PR team must have forced her to an image overhaul seeing that the “fuck you attitude” is not working and calling paps rapist isn’t winning her any fans.

  53. Alix says:

Best pix I’ve ever seen of her! Stunning!

  54. tori says:

Jake-“they changed her completely.” That’s the point. lol It’s a photoshoot for a high fashion magazine, so they went for a stylized look on her, 60’s sex kitten, which is the opposite of grungy emo teen. All covers are photoshopped, but with the exception of one photo, these look like her, just with heavy makeup.

  55. Reece says:

Like some people here she tends to irk me to no end but I have to agree
    Stun-ning! Absolutely Stunning!!!

  56. My Darling Pinkett says:

Yeah, this is probably one of her better photo-shoots. I don’t think she’s gorgeous, but they made her more glam. It doesn’t even look like her in some pics. There is a little photoshop and gobs of makeup on her, but they do that on everyone, so it’s not a big deal.

Ugh, her interviews are more tolerable in print. I find her live ones to be grating. I can’t help it! Certain people are just hard to watch and listen to.

  57. *Roxy* says:

    STUNNING

  58. Hey it's me says:

WOW, she has lips!!!! Photoshop and nude lipstick created an upper lip.

  59. Trek Girl says:

The hair, make-up, clothes, and overall styling of the photoshoot are beautiful. She should be beautiful too, what with all that gorgeous stuff on and around her, but she’s STILL devoid of a little something I like to call “life”. There isn’t any life in these photos – they’re just…empty.

  60. Usedtoitall says:

I really did not think she could look like this. Very beautiful

  61. lala says:

She looks dead like always. And she is an actress of course. BTW after 100000000000 GB photoshop treatment she looks like hybrid of Lohan and Kordasian.

  62. Katie says:

Ridiculous. She looks like Lindsay Lohan. Also, isn’t being on the cover of a magazine all made up like that totally against everything she claims to be about?

  63. Jane says:

She looks like Linnocent here. Too bad that in reality she looks more like Sam Ronson, lol. But really, it is amazing what Alas & Piggott can do! Look at some of their photos, folks – they are always so beautiful and unreal.

  64. leda says:

She looks like she could be in an old James Bond film. I saw her at LAX once and from the looks of her then this shoot doesn’t surprise me. Stunning girl, on the tiny side, but better looking than I expected.

  65. carrie says:

She’s a naturally beautiful girl, I’ll give her that. So it’s not like these pictures don’t look like her. She’s just been heavily stylized, that’s all. I don’t really get the need to act like her looks aren’t responsible for the end product. Sure there’s photoshop involved as well as hair and makeup, but it still looks like her.

  66. teracot says:

in reality I think she’s still pretty. Samanth Ronson she is not. The thing is she doesn’t wear makeup often and dresses like she’s homeless while the rest of the girls in her industry are usually made up at all times. So it’s like going from 0 to 60 in terms of going from hobo to sex kitten.

  67. Hmmm says:

She looks like Megan Fox, and utterly ridiculous.

  68. RocketMerry says:

These pictures are gorgeous! This look works really well on her. This, and all shades of red, that she already uses on the red carpet. The girl is learning!

  69. Mairead says:

    Very minxy.

I liked the interview more than usual too, especially the fact that she’s seemingly taking her job more seriously. I especially loved the religious ecstasy she felt at the end of Twilight 😆

  70. Tigger says:

    She looks great.

But I couldn’t watch that clip. Her little tics annoy me too much, I just wanted to punch her.

  71. carinosa says:

    GIRL BONER

  72. wtf? says:

not even photoshop can make her interesting, try again publicist

  73. carinosa says:

lol, what’s with all the paranoid posters here thinking her pr team control the world? You guys sound like crackpots.

  74. tanner says:

Bow-chica-wow-wow. Not bad, Stewie, not bad at all. You’ve come a long way from being the big eared kid in Panic Room.

  75. Alice says:

I’m also getting the Lindsay vibe.

  76. M says:

Well, lindsay is a beautiful girl, well she used to be before she put shite into her mouth, so it’s a compliment if people compare them.

How i wish Lindsay would get her act together :[

Kristen is gorgeous. I really liked her in The Runaways

  77. caliluv says:

wow, she’s a knockout when she wants to be.

  78. Hibiscus says:

    Yeah, beautiful.

Fascinating what you can do with tons of make-up and proper lighting (and photoshopping).

And still she looks a little irritated in these shots LIKE ALWAYS. She doesn’t really own them.

The second pic with her hand awkwardly over her face – that’s her!

  79. Irene says:

Gorgeous! It is a bit too photoshopped but W mag always does that. I remember when they made goopy look like an alien. Only that one pic of her laying down looks like a completely different person. The interview was tolerable too. I just noticed how they changed her eyebrows so drastically! She needs to work on gettin her eyebrows shaped this way because it looks much better.

  80. Tiffany says:

She look gorgeous! I think she has really great features to work with: the shape of her face, her amazing eyes, the nose, shape of her mouth, etc.

She does look different because of the styling, but I don’t think they photoshopped more than normal…it is just really different styling and lots of makeup. Make up and hair should be fun, and I love that they tried her in something different! Kind of makes me want to go home and play with some crazy make up styles.

  81. Kimbob says:

WOW, WOW, & WOWSA!!! Kristen is superlative and stunning en retro!!!

  82. almond says:

She looks beautiful, but she’s still so expressionless. She’s much more intelligible in print than on film.

  83. Kitty_Cal says:

Ya know I usually loathe Kristen Stewart but this cover got me. She looks like if Jane Fonda from “Barbarella” and Sophia Loren circa “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” had a baby. I approve.

  84. Elle says:

I don’t like them. I wish W had showcased her natural beauty. I think she looks more unique and beautiful without the makeup. Not every beautiful woman has to have the same baby doll look.

  85. dahlia says:

I don’t see photoshopping, I see mainly heavy makeup and contouring, as well as airbrushing. Photoshopping is done to like thin a nose or widen eye space or make a jaw smaller. Those all look like her features to me.

  86. Reece says:

She’s done some crappy shoots in the past, but this is perfection. Stunning.

  87. marge says:

there aren’t enough Photoshop filters and tricks to put some emotion (any) in her bland expession

  88. Geri says:

    wowza, she’s a total babe.

  89. M says:

    To Marge 89

    jealous, much?

  90. Erin says:

This is ridiculously photoshopped…I can’t even recognize her in half of these!

  91. Shasi says:

how does she look irritated in these? She looks great. She usually looks so stiff and lifeless in her magazine spreads, but here she’s doing the full sex kitten bit very well. Someone’s finally growing up.

  92. buckley says:

This interview has enhanced my view of her and yea…HAWT!

  93. Hibiscus says:

Excellent job by the make-up&hair department and the photographer!

It’s really a ton of make-up. She’s barely recognisable under it. And you hardly see anything of her body.

Any of you women writing here could look as good and sexy with this kind of treatment, I tell you.

  94. almond says:

@ Hibiscus With an entire team of stylists and photographers at our disposal, I doubt any of us would look less than stunning. But I also doubt that any of us will ever get that treatment.

The too main problems I have with this ‘shoot is that they altered her lips past recognition (hers have never been that full ever), that they’ve reduced her chin a bit and that they actually showed nothing of her body. Whatever some people may say, I think she has a very nice body, definitely model material, and they did nothing with it in these spreads.

  95. Ally says:

Great photos. She still looks hopelessly vacuous, though.

Amazing that she looked smarter in Panic Room, when she was much younger, than she does now.

  96. Hibiscus says:

    @almond:

They “altered” her lips with painting the lipstick over the natural oulines of her lips. First draw new oulines with lip-liner, then fill in out with a thick layer of lipstick.

Oldest make-up trick in the book.
People give photoshop too much credit.

In slightly overexposed pictures it looks halfway convincing, but even her you can clearly see what they’ve done.

  97. Faye says:

    She looks so beautiful.

  98. almond says:

@ Hibiscus They must have done one hell of a good job in this case, because that method always yielded ridiculous results, IMO.

Or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention.

  99. april says:

She looks beautiful and happy. She usually looks sulking and brooding. I thought she looked like Priscilla Pressley and Lisa Maria Pressley also. I love the ring she is wearing in one of the photos.

  100. nina says:

Why is it so hard to give even a little credit to the possibility that Kristen actually has some nice features to play off of in terms of makeup and styling? This need to act as if she’s this troll that was made up and photoshopped up to high heaven is a bit silly. I’m sorry, but no-most people WOULDN’T look that good. lol

Anyone who’s taken a look at the W covers know they are highly stylized, highly airbrushed, highly glamourous. That’s the look, what happened with Kristen’s cover is no different.

  101. hollywood101 says:

Gorgeous! I haven’t seen any of her movies. WOW! Kinda Raquel Welch, Ann Margert look here. Suits her.

  102. StephanieMarie says:

give the girl an effing break!!
remember angelina back in the “i-love-swords-blood-and billybob thornton” days???
she’s come a long way baby!
and i can remember avril lavigne interviews where she didn’t make eye-contact once with an interviewer…
delivering a line and portraying a character is way less stressful than talking for yourself…it takes some getting used to..she’ll get there.

  103. Meadowlark says:

I really dislike K-Stew but daaaaaaamn, she looks pretty foxy in these. In the third pic/close-up, she looks like a pre-botoxed, collagened Megan Fox.

  104. taralya says:

da-yum, GEEENA. Kstew is looking all kinds of grown up and sexy now. She’s beautiful.

  105. gg says:

    Wow! She looks amazing!

  106. carlie says:

Wow, she’s one of those girls whose gonna get prettier every year.

  107. Delany says:

Oh my Kristen you are too beautiful! I love your hair I am going to try to recreate it- it reminds me of Raquel Welch meets Marilyn Monroes side parting. I love it!

  108. sohana says:

Dang, she cleans up well. Gorgeous. And no, photoshop and makeup alone didn’t create these images. You need a great face to play off well with makeup to create such a great look. Kudos to her, it’s her first photoshoot where she’s owning it.

  109. Meanchick says:

She looks great. How did they get her to smile?

  110. Joe Johnson says:

God bless her. Sometimes she seems so timid. maybe that’s her charm.

  111. Venefica Delirium says:

I know she’s not really popular around here, but I think she’s pretty in general. She’s pretty with or without all the photoshopping/airbrushing, but doesn’t seem like she would in the promos for Twilight.

  112. jemshoes says:

Kristen is stunning in this shoot! And I also agree that this is one of her better interviews yet. She actually sounds a lot less self-conscious, defensive and guarded than she usually does.

  113. Cheyenne says:

Black eyeliner can do wonders for a lot of otherwise ordinary-looking woman. She looks great with it. The darker hair looks good too.

  114. coucou says:

I freaking LOVE her. I resisted watching Twilight due to all the hype, but caved due to my pre-teen kids…and i have to say i loved her. Hadn’t seen her act since Panic Room. She’s the real deal. Can’t wait to see her as Joan Jett. I’ll take her any day over a room full of gossip girls and Disney Divas. Righteous!

  115. samab says:

first time she’s noticeable….thumbs up for thr stylist and anyone else made the transormation. She looks great

  116. Adrien says:

The last one is my fave.

  117. Courtney says:

of course it’s ridiculously Photoshopped most photos for magazines are. the likes of Ms Stewart shouldn’t be posing in fur if This were Joely Richardson it wouldn’t matter as she can actually act Kristen can’t and grew up around women that didn’t have the choice of wearing fake fur they had to wear the real thing and her mother still does and has gotten red paint thrown at her by animal rights activists

It’s very rarely that we see a beautiful gorgeous face on the cover of a magazine that is not tweaked, botox or heavily photoshoppe.Thank god for Kstew for giving us a glimpse of real hollywood face, well done Kristen!

  119. lol says:

lol at all the passive agressive, back handed compliments flying kristen’s way, ie, “anyone can look good with some eyeliner, kudos to the makeup artist.” I hate to break this to you all, but even with kristen’s glamour treatment, I doubt very few of you would end up looking like elizabeth taylor. And that’s because kristen has some classic features. She’s not the prettiest girl in the room, but she’s got wide set eyes, a straight nose, and killer cheek bones. and that can take a girl very far, farther than most of our sorry asses. lol

  120. daria says:

there’s a difference between photoshopping and airbrushing. The vogue shots from Kristen’s photoshoot were obviously photoshopped, like they messed with her eyes and face shape and it was really weird looking. This photoshoot looks very air-brushed, but her features are very kristen like, and don’t seem to have been messed with like vogue’s. I’m betting on heavy meakup and a big dose of airbrushing here, not photoshop.

  121. Quint Asper says:

Talk about extreme abuse of Photoshop…

  122. coucou says:

OMG you peeps are delusional talking about all that photoshop and airbrushing and shit, man, when i was her age, i had a photographer b/f who had me all made up by a professional make up artist and that plus the professional camera and lighting made ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD, even I didn’t recognize myself! This girl is for real, there are slow shots in her Twilight films where she is breathtakingly beautiful, and i thought to myself, man, i bet she’d look great all glammed up, and voila, this is the result. She’s a classic beauty. With or without the makeup.

And as for her “tics” that some people complain about, WHATEVER, man, i’d take her tics any day over, say, Megan’s babbling brook of bullshit à la Tourette, for example. Stew’s an artist in every sense of the word, and that includes posing for some blissed out beauty shots like these. Thanks Kristen!

  123. womanfromthenorth says:

wow she looks like some other good looking chick, she should hire the make-up person for life. I did not know she was the kid from panic room

  124. lrm says:

    ridiculous….
i dont understand the hoisting her upon us….
i dont find her interesting, a good actress or particularly attractive…..
    what’s the deal?
the pics are good-but she looks shallow/empty so she does not ‘fill out’ the pics. i’m not into her at all.

another one they shove down our throats until we accept that they are ‘movie stars’….

  125. Camille says:

Gorgeous girl, I love the photos.

Her interview was good too, it does seem like she has grown up a bit.

  126. Lindy says:

I love her. I’m on vacation at the moment and someone left a British Vogue or Elle or something from last year in the villa here–she’s in there in a gorgeous, gorgeous photo spread and interview. She’s smart, humble, ambitious, beautiful, self-aware… What’s not to love. I’m glad she’s not some vapid, grinning twit (Hi, Blake Lively) but rather an intelligent and interesting woman. And I love this interview/photo shoot. She knows people hate her, she freaking apologizes b/c she doesn’t want to come off as a bitch. (And I say all this as a total anti-Twihard–never seen any of the movies, nor will I–I hate that Stephanie religious-zealot whatserface who wrote the books–total anti-woman crapfests==I just can’t wait for Kristin Stewart to really start getting out from the Twilight junk).

  127. SHe looks awesome in this shoot!

  128. foozy says:

super talented and very beautiful. wish her all the luck

  129. Jilly Bean says:

still love the eye rolls…. we should never forget where we cam from!

  130. p says:

It’s shocking to me how much hatred people have towards this young woman ,really is it so hard to accept the fact that she is actually pretty? she is beautiful without all the make-up they just made her look glamorous in this magazine . Everyone knows how W magazine works all their photo spread are always over the top, so i don’t see what so shocking here , if they can make Tilda Swinton look good imagine what they can do if the subject is actually pretty . Do you guys think the victoria secret models are actually pretty ? Kristen Stewart always look natural unless she’s at an event and some of the closeup photo show her clear and flawless skin , the actresses that you may think are beautiful , when you see them without the makeup on you all freak out , at least with her it’s the opposite … It is a shame that people are so mean spirited and evil , i guess it’s easy to do when you insult someone knowing you can hide behind a keyboard…..these photos are great airbrushed or whatever. It’s just that these negative comments are so redundant, so please try finding something new to say … thank you!!

  131. Meadowlark says:

p: Your comment almost seemed reasonable.. until you complained about people being mean-spirited towards looks, then denouncing the natural beauty of Tilda Swinton and Victoria’s Secret models in the same breath.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: remember this and it’ll stop you from going on rants about how other people should/shouldn’t find said person beautiful… For instance, I’ve just come to accept that people who don’t think Tilda Swinton is beautiful and I will never see eye to eye. Sad but true.

And I think most people just don’t like her douchebag-y personality, regardless of how pretty she is.

  132. milk says:

She is obviously done with make-up but her striking features are all hers. Only one photo is obviously photoshop.

I think she is growing up emotionally, socially and managing whatever anxiety issues she has. She is thinking about her career good for her.

Ask for her douche bag moments, if it is based on her interviews and rolling of her eyes, I think almost all of us are guilty of saying stupid things and rolling our eyes. For me , there was never a REAL D-bag moment with her. She is obviously young and I think has never been PR managed thus the bungles during her early years and her obvious anxiety thus her lashing out.

In my opinion, this girl is by far the most interesting one out of the Twilight leads. She is developing and maturing in front of our eyes. Thus, I am fully predicting a complete transformation for her. A little
    cub to a tigress.

  133. Callumna says:

Ugh. Putting your lip with a finger like a baby. A baby! And widening your eyes to the point no thought could fit in your head. And then a big, old unnatural 60’s wig on top is what they’ve trained us to call attractive? Fake and stupid.

    Female Blue Steel.

  134. crtb says:

    She looks great!

  135. riley says:

she’s looks hot. and no, most of you wouldn’t look as good as her with the same makeup. Let’s not delude ourselves. lol

  136. corey says:

    to answer your question:
    ridiculously gorgeous

  137. Chris says:

I clicked on this link excepting to see the regulation ‘I hate it’ comments, so I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Thank you people you’ve restored my faith in humanity.

  138. Kay says:

You were doing well until suggesting Kristen has a “shtick”. She is the LEAST fake person in Hollywood which is why am sure so many of you have a problem with her. She refuses to “play the game”. She truly is shy and uncomfortable with the attention surrounding her personal life. She was animated at Comic Con because she has grown a bit and is sincerely dedicated to her job of acting. I thought she did well here, and her “speech patterns” don’t annoy me, but you sure as hell do.

  139. Kay says:

As for the shoot, I think it’s stunning. Don’t care about any photoshop, I know this is Kristen. She’s an amazing canvas. Even with minimal makeup I look different. I met her in person at the Eclipse NYC premiere when she had gobs of makeup on and can assure you she looked flawless then on that humid June night. Doubt they had to do much.

  140. Anika says:

Wow you c*nts. She´s beautiful with and without make up.

  141. ajkajh says:

She is photoshopped into a completely different person. It doesn’t look like her at all
