Kate Winslet in Victoria Beckham for ‘Carnage’ premiere: chic or boring?

vff_carnage_red_carpet_50_wenn5712973

These are photos of Kate Winslet at last night’s premiere of Carnage at the Venice Film Festival. I’ve also included some additional photos of Winslet at the end of the post from earlier Thursday, at the photo call. For this post, my intention was merely to discuss the red carpet fashion, but I don’t think I should just ignore what happened yesterday.

Sigh…

Okay. Yesterday, I wrote this post about Kate Winslet’s face at the Carnage photo call in Venice. I thought (as in, it was my opinion, my disorientation at seeing what I perceived to be her tweaked face) that she looked “worked on” and “pulled”. Her eyes in particular look very different – TO ME. In retrospect, I think I probably went overboard in my description of the work I “thought” Kate had gotten “done” – partly out of an effort to be funny, partly out of a real anger that I have when any celebrity seems to lie so blatantly (once again, in my opinion). A lot of you yelled at me, and some of you agreed with me. The split was maybe 70-30, maybe 65-35, with the majority of you thinking that I was a lie monster who simply had a hate-on for Kate. Lainey at LaineyGossip weighed in too, and she thinks that Kate is un-tweaked. All of this is fine, everyone is free to disagree. I’d like to offer an apology to those of you who were genuinely offended by the post. I still think Kate has been worked on, but I could have approached the issue better, I think. I shouldn’t have been so strident.

Can we talk about the fashion now? Kate is wearing Victoria Beckham! Generally, I dislike blondes in shades of beige – it usually washes them out. But this shade is just dark enough so that Kate doesn’t look like a piece of toast. And like most VB dresses, that sucker is TIGHT. I think it must have a built in support system, because Kate’s girls are hoisted up in that dress. But the coolest thing is the back:

I really like the zipper detail. I like the shawl collar too, and I like that Kate wore a cocktail dress to the red carpet instead of a gown. It still looks glamorous even though it’s not full-length. Oh, and the shoes are Jimmy Choo – meh on the glittery feet. More photos from the red carpet and photo call:

The third picture alone settles it for me. That’s her face. She looks stunning and *natural*. Her face moves, it’s not tight. Botox always seems to be the answer people on this site go for but what about creams? What about makeup? If people can be made to look like monsters for movies, I’m pretty sure it’s possible for makeup to do wonders to your face and make you look a certain way… have less wrinkles, more of a glow, etc. That goes for skin creams and even facials as well. She has enough money to indulge in those and get a product that actually works. You should’ve included all kinds of pictures from the event, the ones where she’s smiling big and you can see all the expressions on her face.

  2. carrie says:

    she looks great

  3. NYC_girl says:

I tried Botox last year – I get really bad migraines (really) and my neurologist suggested it. I didn’t want him to shoot me up in the face because I was scared of looking crazy, but he had to give me 2 small shots between the brows, and a few along my hairline. Not only did it totally immobilize my forehead and make my eyebrows do weird things when I attempted facial expressions, the injections hurt like HELL. And the migraines didn’t go away. Yes, it was nice to get rid of this one big crease I have. I’m 42 and thankfully have good skin (no sun/smoking/drinking) – but seriously, I can’t understand how women do sh*t to their faces, and end up looking bizarro.

  4. The Truth Fairy says:

    Booooooooooooooooooring!

  5. Eve says:

I wish you wouldn’t have to apologize for anything. *I* think you shouldn’t anyway.

And I hope you’re being sincere about the way she looks here (and not pandering to her fans) because that dress is hideous: front and back. I hope you’re not refraining yourself from voicing your true opinion about her for the fear of being yelled at by fans who can’t accept criticism of any kind.

    Shoes are fabulous though.

  6. mermaid says:

This is the same VB collection which Kim K selected her dress from. Yikes. See pics this week of Kim K And new hubby Kris at their welcome to NY party. Nearly the same dress. Lol

  7. mln76 says:

I still think she did something. Something subtle sure but I still see the beginnings of a cat face. And it still makes me sad that someone whose talent I respect would go down that path.

  8. Kaiser says:

Eve – I actually like the dress, and I think it was a good choice for Kate. But yeah, I still think her face is crazy.

Just FYI – just because a person has lines, doesn’t mean they’re all natural. Madonna has lines too. Just sayin’.

  9. Jackie says:

don’t apologize! completely unnecessary. bitch looks tweaked to me.

  10. serena says:

I don’t like the colour of the dress at all. Anyway I think too she has done something minor to her face, like botox or something.

  11. Bobbie says:

Kaiser, I just think you don’t like her. I don’t like her either. She’s annoying somehow, too full of herself. And I think she is very average looking. So, I guess, I should be supportive of her because generally I like actresses who aren’t gorgeous. But for some reason, I don’t give her that benefit. Maybe because she seems so overly pretentious? Or, because you point out, something about her statements seem like lies.

  12. jinni says:

That dress makes her look like she has an oddly shaped butt. The material looks like the stuff you find in a couch slip on cover that’s made out of easy to clean material.

  13. Eve says:

    @ Kaiser:

Really? I think it’s all kinds of fug.

And I still think you shouldn’t have apologized at all. This is a website that relies on personal opinions — both from the writers and commenters. This is NOT a fansite.

    I’m disappointed. Truly.

  14. You don't say says:

The dress looks so tight that it seems like she could not walk in it. The color is bland and generally the dress is ugly. Curves are great, but not sure why everything has to be skin tight these days. She also annoys me as she seems way too smug.

  15. mary simon says:

    fug.

  16. Astrid says:

Please don’t apologize! I love your running commentaries.

    The dress is too tight.

  17. madpoe says:

guess i’m the only one that thinks the dress, especially from the back, looks like an Army duffle bag? Like the shoes, love Kate.

  18. Micah says:

    Unflattering dress….

  19. melissa says:

I don’t know why, but it is her eyebrows (heavy, dark, STRONG) that are bugging me. maybe just a BIT of tweezing? They overpower her face. I like the dress but dang, can she even sit in it? That thing looks sewn on!

  20. aenflex says:

I wasnt even gonna comment today – too busy at work. Kaiser, whether or not I agree, I personally don’t think you went overboard. Just my opinion. The apology was very sweet, though.

  21. Katie says:

I’m really not sure if she’s had work done. In some pictures I think yes, in some I think no. I’m not good at telling in general though.

So the dress. I like it, but I think it would be better if it stopped at the knees and I think it looks unflattering from behind. But good from the front.

  22. Katie says:

Oh yeah, and I you didn’t need to apologize. It’s your site! And I love it.

  23. dd says:

    love it.
    her style is lovely

  24. Justwow says:

Why are you apologizing? That’s half the fun! Reading the opinions, both yours and the readers… its all good. I don’t think she has had much done, maybe a teeny bit of filler here and there. I think its hysterical that people get so bent out of shape either way! Fun fun…:)

  25. Danziger says:

She’s gaining weight again. At some point she was seriously slim, but now she’s looking softer again. She’s beautiful. I wish she’d ditch the blonde, though. It doesn’t do anything for her.
And look at those laugh lines around her eyes and that peach fuzz! Love her, and love the dress, even though VB’s dresses usually don’t arouse any excitement in me.

And Kaiser, Madonna does have laugh lines, but come on. She’s older than Kate, and at some point you can nolonger avoid those lines even though you’ve tweaked your skin so much it shreds.

  26. toto says:

Eve i agree with your point on ..kaeser, i believe you should not apologise too.

i have similar face structure as as kate …. but im older than her .i do have her lines but not that much as she does maybe due thier job of heavy light exposure or way of life…one thing is missing in our face comparision is the extra skin on the eye ..i dunno what they call it in english ,,but its in the area between eye brows and lashes ..if she had all these lines and her skin is loosining that much to me its impossible she could have less extra dropin skin on her eye ..which usualy gives alot age even to younger girls ..so i do think maybe she moved that skin which gives her the cat eye look and the suprise look as ewe can see its all in her under eyebrows area rather than the rest of her face

english is not my first language so please have mercy on me

    P.S
kaeser i do believe we are more fan of this site and relate to you as women we exchange openion with than kate or angelina or madonna no matter how much we like our stars ..you are more real to us than others ..this is how i see it and thats what keeps me coming here ..we like you therfore i totaly agree with eve and shall support your points of view ather they way this site supported our various openions .

  27. marge says:

the dress is grest, but not for her.
And her face DOES look weird… she probably hasn’t done anything else, but she must have had something done some time ago. The shape of her eyes is just different. No apologies, just a sincere opinion!

  28. Larissa says:

The dress color does nothing for her, or for anyone for that matter. Maybe your office carpet but not a dress.

  29. gee says:

Dont be sorry, if we don’t like it we don’t have to read it.

Also, I love love love the dress, but it’s too tight and it’s very noticable in the back.

  30. Love the dress, think it’s hot, am undecided as to facial tweakery, can smell a smidge of sh*ite somewhere, but on a totally different aside: my partner lived next to her in London and said she was just lovely, she would pop over and say hello, and chat in the driveway and wake him up by playing Spandau Ballet too loud and yelling to her child. He said she was down to earth, nice, v good looking in a natural way and that was that, he’s a pretty good judge of character.

Also, don’t apologise for comments like that for heavens sake, there are much more exciting and dirty things in life to apologise for, do them, tell us about it and THEN apologise!

  31. WYIJM says:

I appreciate the ‘apology’ – no issues with bitchiness, sarcasm and personal opinions, but when too many posts start to read like unreasonable hatred…it makes me not want to come back here.

Dress looks great from the front/side, the back not so much.

  32. sassenach says:

I do not think this dress is flattering. Her ass looks long, wide and flat.

Kaiser, don’t apologize anymore. I wasn’t upset about the post because I think she is tweaked and she obviously have had a boob job. Just look at how saggy and small her breasts were and look at them now.

Sometimes, just like Lainey you get on my nerves but I think that is why I love your site. Far batter to post and enjoy where there is actual commentary then say a site like Pop Sugar or Just Jared.

  33. Julie says:

Totally tweaked…..look side by side at old and new. And yes, wrinkles around the eyes, but also with Madonna.

  34. Jenny says:

Don’t get the need to apologize. This site trashes people (many I like) consistently, but there are never apologies, what is so special about this person that she gets that kind of treatment. She comes across as smug and bitchy to me, so, go for it.

The dress is ugly and too tight. Don’t know about her face, but I don’t look at her that much, so I don’t much care.

  35. LadyJane says:

WOW the back of that dress is HORRID. I love if from the front, but from the back, it does the amazing thing of making Kate look fat and flat at the same time and you know that isn’t the case. Sorry Victoria – this dress is a fail – and I normally like her stuff.

    It is so shiny!

  36. LadyJane says:

PS I echo the sentiments of no need for an apology. I personally love this site because the bitchiness is balanced – just enough to have a laugh but never leaves you feeling unclean.

The most vile it gets is when someone posts something negative about AJ – I went there and got personally attacked and retaliated with silliness that was misconstrued. I won’t be doing that again. Just so you know. 🙂

  37. Stubbylove says:

    Gorgeous!

  38. yepp says:

Kaiser pleaaaase do not apologize, you think she’s been tweaked so the fuck what! you are entilled to think that! why are we harder on some than others…. this is a blog where we dicuss ppl. and every one is entilled to the same scrutiny.

  39. Cirque28 says:

No need to apologize! IMO, your writing is hilariously snarky but not unkind.

Anyway. Sometimes I’m positive Kate’s had work done. Other times I think she just looks really different from certain angles or with certain lighting.

I like the dress when Kate holds her shoulders back. The tiniest slouch and it gives her Dowager Hump. (Could be she’s raising awareness for osteoporosis tho.)

  40. Eve says:

    @ 38:

    Oh, puh lease!

I (think I) have vehemently disagreed with Kaiser and Celebitchy before — more than once — but haven’t been banned for that. Yet.

They take down some comments, but every single website out there does that.

  41. bagladey says:

The dress is chic but the colour makes it look boring on Kate, especially on the red carpet.

  42. yepp says:

Oh yeah, I love Kate this is nothing against her!

  43. Alix says:

The front of the dress gets an A; the back gets an F. That hideous zipper! Looks like a Project Runway creation — almost none of those designers have learned how to hide a zipper.

Kaiser, if people are so freakin’ think-skinned that they get hysterical at your opinion about somebody’s probably-jacked-up face, let them go. But please don’t apologize — it only makes them think the world owes them an apology whenever they encounter ideas they don’t like.

  44. Eve says:

    @ Alix:

But please don’t apologize — it only makes them think the world owes them an apology whenever they encounter ideas they don’t like.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

  45. olga says:

    The dress is boring.

  46. Redd says:

The dress is a horrible choice for Kate’s coloring and it appears to have swallowed her. The fabric looks like upholstery and I bet it would take a swat team to get that zipper down.

  47. sapphire says:

I’m with the slight tweak faction-and her eyebrows need serious work. The dress is way too tight and not flattering at all. She’s got greeat skin-she should choose something more flattering than late Joan Crawford style.

  48. Turtle Dove says:

Kaiser, personally, I don’t think you should apologize.

The reason we come to this site is for the humorous approach to on-line gossip journalism… and that’s what it is everyone – journalism. You did what any journalist does – offer an opinion and open a forum for debate. That was done and no apologies are necessary.

If this site deleted comments that disagreed with the journalists THEN I would have a problem, but that’s not what occurs. An avenue for the expression of opinion is allowed and debate happens. Posters have no issues with disagreeing with YOUR opinion, so they should have no issue with you disagreeing with theirs.

Journalism pushes boundaries and takes jabs at society at large. You did your “job”. Case closed.

  49. spinner says:

You know…it’s a shame how we tear any woman apart for not aging naturally…for going under the knife to avoid the aging factor…but yet we praise people like Chaz for elective cosmetic surgery which is illusory as well.

Should Kaiser apologize?? Hell, we expect everyone else to.

  50. Yasmina says:

@ Kaiser: I’m with you on this one, and I’m disappointed that she’s not upfront about it since she set standards in my view. I felt the same way with Emma Watson and totally understood why you were critical of her; I certainly expected more of Watson.
It comes down to this: I don’t care how bitchy a post may seem, your writing is hilarious, smart, and most importantly not sexist (that means a lot). That’s what keeps me keeping back. Even if I would disagree, I still really enjoy your wit, how you write and present your views. Isn’t that why the rest of you complainers come back?

  51. Hmmmmm says:

She worked with Roman Polanski……I lost a tremendous amount of respect for her. It’s truly a sign of character when your willing to work with a child molester just for the sake of “a great script” her words. Well another one bites the dust. What a shame. I was just as shocked about this pairing as I was to hear about Jack Nicholson’s involvement with the whole sordid scenario. For shame.

  52. Karen says:

From the front, Kate’s dress does look hella tight from the front and while I’m not a fan of type of collar, she manages to pull it out. However as soon as I saw the rear view, I recoiled in horror. The zipper is awful and it gives her that awful gathering of back fat that most of us get when we wear an ill-fitting bra (*raising my own hand because it happens to be despite my best efforts*).

When the rear zipper is done well, it looks edgy and modern. But when it’s done poorly or on a body not meant for this style (and tightness) of the dress, it’s horrid. I agree with #43 who gives it an A from the front and an F from the back.

  53. 4Real says:

You know I’m not diggin it…she’s not TALL enough for that dress…maybe if the cut was just a tad shorter.

I bet VB is like first Kartrashian and now this? Can somebody TALL AND SKINNY please wear my shit DAYUM! LOL!!

  54. Ron says:

I love the sculptural quality of the dress, that being said, it is clearly to small. I will never understand actresses that wear things that are too small. Just because you can zip it up, doesn;t mean that it looks good.

  55. laylajane says:

She looks like herself. The dress is great from the front and totally tacky in the back..

  56. i.want.shoes says:

LOL! Well, I HATE the dress and whatever she’s done to her face and I won’t apologize for it!

  57. Rachel says:

    That dress is hideous.

  58. UKHels says:

the dress is horrible – that zipper at the back is totally fug

VB dresses are pretty boring I’m afraid

  59. Mando says:

    1) The color is blah, maybe slightly too “warm” for her skin tone.
    2) I think she’s looking particularly haggard lately. But, please feel free to continue speculating about tweaks.
    3) It is so tight the back appears to mash her ass flat; very unflattering.
    4) I don’t mind exposed zippers but highlighting them with a contrasted edging makes them appear unrefined/unfinished. I think it *looks* like the designer doesn’t know how to use a zipper properly. Maybe they were thinking it looked “intentional” but that doesn’t make it attractive.

    FAIL.

  60. Benny says:

She USED to be one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. I think she’s the perfect spokesperson for anti-cosmetic surgery because all you have to do is look at the before and after photos as a cautionary tale.

I didn’t know some things about her until I read them on another thread. If true, she’s truly pathetic (lying about her natural childbirth to appear superior to other women).

But I think she does look better filled out a little, like she is here — so that’s an improvement.

  61. Me says:

Beautiful. V. Beckham does some gorgeous work.

  62. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Since when is she sacrosanct? I don’t see the words ‘To Our Glorious Dead’ carved into her abdomen.

  63. irishserra says:

I love Kate, but I don’t love this dress. The back really bothers me. But to each his own. As far as her face goes, I often find myself thinking she’s HAD to have gotten something done on her face, but I also wonder if maybe she uses those tightening serums right before she walks out the door?

  64. JustBe says:

I think she looks amazing in the dress. The color and structure are very different from what you usually see at these events.

I like her personal style and the way that she presents herself in public.

    I think that she’s a lovely lady.

  65. bluhare says:

I don’t think she’s done anything. What is she, somewhere around 35? That’s not wrinkly old territory yet, or sure doesn’t have to be. I think she’s put on some weight and it’s fleshed out her face a bit, so maybe she looks less wrinkly because of that. Don’t all the mags tell women that the middle age decision is body or face? Not that she’s middle aged!

If any of you saw the articles about the fire at Richard Branson’s island, there are photos of her there with his mum (who she carried out of the house!) and she definitely does not look tweaked there at all. It’s a non professionally done face shot. She looks totally natural.

She might be a lot of things, but she’s never struck me as a hypocrite.

  66. fizXgirl314 says:

    bitch looks good…

  67. Mrs.Krabapple says:

Why apologize? Winslet had work done, it’s obvious to anyone who isn’t star-struck or who blindly defends an actress just because she’s British.

And when someone will work with a child rapist just because it’s a good script, I think they deserve whatever hatred is directed their way.

And, she ADMITTED to lying to the public in the past about her beautiful, natural, childbirth experience to make herself look better in the eyes of the public. After that, who in their right mind can argue that the public has no right to criticize her for also lying about the plastic surgery?

The only ones who should apologize are those who blindly defend her because she’s *slightly* heavier than most actresses, or because she’s British. Give me a break. She’s an admitted liar who will work with a child rapist to further her career. Just because she does it with a British accent and in a dress one size larger, doesn’t make her better than any other liar who collaborates with child rapists.

  68. atlantapug says:

LOVE the dress. Wish there were some jewels at the neckline though.

I think her face is real, however, I must agree that she has had some eye work done. Maybe removal of sagging skin on the eyelids?

Something is just “off” about her eyes.

  69. Denise says:

Kaiser, no need to apologize for your opinion. I think she had her forehead done and probably a facial peel. She has gained some weight, which is absolutely fine; I think she looks great in the dress.

  70. Ashley says:

VB dresses have corseting built into them in order to facilitate a streamlined figure. They also fully unzip from top to bottom in the back so you can get in and out of them without having to squeeze them up your hips or yank them over your head (and thus ruin hair and makeup). Smart idea, IMO.

  71. Rachel says:

    She get’s prettier with age.

  72. Blithe says:

She’s starting to get on my nerves. She’s mega talented, in a class of actresses that basically have 3-4 to call their own, and are better than everyone else at it (the winslet, the blanchet, the streep, etc.), but she needs to stop on this whole “I’ve never had work done” crusade. There isn’t a single woman in hollywood who hasn’t had something tweaked. Maybe she never had a nose job like most of the rest, but she’s certainly had fillers and botox.

  73. Katherine says:

Too fat for this dress. Though I like the dress.

Definitely something done to the face. She certainly looks different and it just may be too subtle for some to spot.

I also thought the trailer I saw for Carnage was awful.

Whatever your opinion of Polanski and his crime he cannot be classified as a child rapist. Seriously. She was not a child.

  74. Mrs.Krabapple says:

The girl was 13 years old. She sure as hell wasn’t an adult. He drugged and raped her. You can call him whatever you want. To me, he’s a child rapist.

  75. Sinder says:

No! She doesn’t have the figure for those form fitting dresses. And her feet are huge!

  76. Kelly says:

I don’t think she has had work done and I don’t like the dress. I am shocked people actually wear Victoria Beckham designs, I thought it was just considered tacky, never thought of her as a “real” designer.

  77. Jen34 says:

People seriously got bent out of shape over your comments? Ridiculous.

And she doesn’t have the ass for that dress.

  78. sassy says:

can we stop all this silly chit chat and make more posts about my lover, Christoph Waltz????

  79. Lauren says:

Outstanding actress. Watch The Reader or Little Children. I dont care if Kate is tweaked; or the clothes she wears…she is incredible. The best actress I have ever seen, besides Meryl Streep. Kim K. is a disgusting porn star slut, no talent..vile.

  80. I Choose Me says:

I read the previous post and I’m chiming in to say that *I* think Kaiser is right and Ms. Winslet has indeed been tweaked. It’s something about the shape of her eyes and the nose has slimmed too. It’s subtle but in comparing several recent pictures (with different lighting and angles) to some of her older pictures, yeah I think she had work done.

Now I actually like Kate as an actress but dislike her sanctimony, her constant need to assure that she’s real and unpretentious and all that. Further, while I don’t always agree with Kaiser, she shouldn’t have to apologize for her OPINION, which we’re all free to take or leave

  81. Chris says:

There’s a huge gap between her best and worst. At her best she’s gorgeous. At her worst she looks like a frumpy middle aged matron.

  82. lorexandra says:

The Carnage trailer was incredibly boring and unfunny. I don’t see why everyone thinks Winslet is such a great actress, she’s generally ok, but she preforms poorly in this one.

I thought Polanski was still in prison. How did this steaming heap of a movie even get made? I’ve just lost a lot respect for Winslet and Foster for appearing in a Polanski movie, and a lousy one at that. It’s not as though these actresses have to take anything that comes along.

  83. Mtn Girl says:

Yuck, it’s like Mouret mixed with a Butterick pattern circa 1980’s. And what’s with the black zipper in the back? Maybe it’s a bivy dress?

Not a good look for Kate, IMO!

  84. Str8Shooter says:

Wonderful actress, Kate is. But have to say, after reading several interviews with her where she refers to HERSELF in the third person…well, someone is very impressed with themselves, let’s just leave it at that.

  85. Munkey says:

@Katherine: Polanski’s victim was most definitely a child. That’s an indisputable fact.

  86. skinanny says:

front of the dress is great, back looks like Wal Mart

  87. corey says:

@skinanny dooooooh I was about to write my comment when I scrolled down and read yours. You took the words right out of my mouth(errr keyboard).
I fell in love when I saw the front, but the back looks really budget. Zipper showing in the back is NEVER okay. IMO

  88. TinaCC says:

Good chemical peel will do it for the face; I think that’s much of what you’re seeing, Kaiser. And a great makeup artist. Who is it, and why is this person not working on half of young Hollywood – they need help.

Dress should be boring, but isn’t. I kinda love VB’s styles, she’s turning into a proper designer.

Kaiser, please don’t apologize. The folks who threatened not to read your site just because you gave your (correct) opinion on Kate Winslet’s face are full of it. Your site is addicting and the best thing I’ve come across. You will lose more fans than you gain if you cave to those people. I mean its a freaking gossip site! Gossip isnt “nice…” it’s gossip. Sometimes i’ll agree with your opinion and sometimes I won’t (hasn’t happened yet), but I will never stop reading your posts just because I don’t agree with you–I will only stop reading if you cave to histrionic (Kate Winslet) fans and thus become boring.

I know her face always causes a debate here – but when you look at photos 4 and 5 you can clearly see wrinkles etc. I really think the ansewr is that Kate photographs extremely well with certain types of light and make up. Plus Im sure that she has skin treatments and magic potions etc. he he

Full support to you Kaiser, I think you write great posts – even if I dont always agree with them! 🙂

Slap some merrit badges on the front of that dress and you’ve got a sexy Girl Scout Halloween costume. Why all the beige? Boring!

Maybe she didn’t get surgery, but there is definitely something weird about her face.

Don’t like the dress so much. Who would have thought Madonna would have knocked it out of the park compared to others on the red carpet, but she did.

  93. Jayna says:

And as far as Polanski, didn’t he anally rape that girl’? So it turned me off that Kate said in an interview how do you turn down a Polanski movie. Ugh.

I am sorry, I am really really not a “hater”, but I just don’t “get” Kate Winslet. Yes, she is a good actress, absolutely.
I can also see why anyone would consider her attractive.
But “stunning”? “Gorgeous”? Even just “beautiful”? Ehm, no, none of the above. Not IMO. And with that hairdo, upswept at the front, she looks just… agh, no, no. Not a good look.

I also get the vibe that she is taking herself far too seriously. Not an attractive feature. And what’s the aquinting?
I’ve noticed this only recently. She’s started to narrow her eyes, as if trying to convey a “sultry” look.
    It doesn’t work.

So, Kate winslet a good actress? Absolutely.
    But a beauty? Sorry, no.

Nah Kaiser, IMO you were spot on! She totally looked like she had had work done. Her eyes looked freaky!
