Jessica Simpson very nearly didn’t make it to New York yesterday after her plane from Nashville was delayed due to extreme rain. She was supposed to go to Macy’s 150th Anniversary party. Though she did make it to the event, Jess was pretty late and most everyone had left by then.

The singer – who designs clothing, shoes and handbags for Macy’s – was supposed to fly from Nashville to New York Tuesday to celebrate the department store’s 150th anniversary.
But driving rain caused serious flight delays, forcing Simpson to miss her scheduled Macy’s gig singing “Happy Birthday” with Elmo.
In fact the deparment store party – which included guests like Eva Mendes, Tommy Hilfiger and Martha Stewart – had nearly ended by the time Simpson finally arrived at 8:30 p.m.
“I’m so, so sorry!” she said as she rushed into Manhattan’s Gotham Hall with her B.F.F. hairstylist Ken Paves. “[I wish] I could be God and control the weather.”

I’m pretty sure the real reason Jessica was running behind was that she had to hunt and kill whatever animal (or faux-animal; I can’t quite tell) she’s wearing around her neck. It’s really cold in New York lately – yesterday it was in the mid-thirties and raining. So it felt cold enough to snow, but instead of peaceful flakes you get driving, drenching rain. I’m guessing Jessica wore this outfit thinking it would keep her warm and was sort of stylish, but to me it just looks like she took a gun to Central Park. It’s just a little too poufy and “I hate raccoons” for my taste.

I think she looks nice and classy. I dont believe in wearing fur esp if you have other means of keeping warm IE : Faux Fur but she looks well put together and dare i say smart
I don’t get this dummy. She either has her tits squashed into some nasty hooker dress, or she’s draped in ill-fitting layers of fabric. Doesn’t she have a stylist?
The fugly raccoon wrap? The “unexpected delay”? The hand placement around her baby oven? I think she’s trying veeeeery hard to circulate some pregnancy rumors of her own.
I like it, she looks cute.
If it’s real fur I hate her; otherwise, I think she looks adorable. And for heaven’s sake she cannot control the weather. I dare say many stars wouldn’t have bothered to show up at all. She works hard and meets her obligations, which is rare and admirable in celebrity culture.
That definitely looks like synthetic fur…and I think she looks pretty appropriate. Its cold out, so of course she’s not wearing some off the shoulder frock. DUH! Her hair and makeup look pretty too…not stripper-ish. It looks to me like she DID get a stylist.
Ugh. I’ve seen this chick wearing what looks like fur in photos before, and I can’t tell if it’s real or not. I hope wholeheartedly that she cares enough to choose compassionate fashion. I mean, I don’t think she’s intelligent or interesting or talented. That said, I don’t HATE her; I think she’s a dumbass but a pretty inoffensive one, overall. And she seems like an earnest, nice-enough person.
But if she wears real pelts, however, she can get fucked and set afire, for all I care.
She looks great.
There are ugly people in NYC, but that’s no excuse for Jessica Simpson’s face.
I’m a huge fan of fake fur. I love the way it looks and feels, and I think the “but it makes people think fur is stylish” line is tired and just deliberately argumentative. Fur is pretty. People have always thought that animal coats are gorgeous. We always will. They’re soft, pretty, and warm. Hence…the natural tendency to want coats of our own that look/feel the same.
I would never purchase anything with real fur on it. Ever.
But fake fur? Please. Faux for the win.

I’m sorry – I don’t buy the whole ‘fur is immoral’ bit. I personally don’t wear it, but there are a lot more bad things people do, and I don’t put wearing fur at the top of the list.

I think she lied about “date night” with Tony.
She looks like a bitter 40-year-old divorcee. I think she does have a stylist – but she needs a new one. 🙄
