I really respect Thandie Newton as an actress.
She seems like she would have been a great fit for this role.
That stuff about Madonna is sooo messed up. She should just give money to the child’s family so he can stay where he knows. And the part the school she’s building teaching Kaballah? ACK! Horrrible.
Thandie Newton should lower herself from the high horse. None of us ‘white folk’ complained when White Chicks came out starring Keenan Ivory Wayans and Shawn Wayans. Jolie is playing a latin woman with strong Cuban roots. Next time I see Thandie Newton I’ll make sure to remind her that jealousy does not become her. She’s already passed ‘judgement’ on the choice of Jolie with her ‘I’m so shocked, but I’ll wait to condemn it until after I’ve seen it so people won’t think I’m an idiot’ attitude.
Thandie is a great actress! She is far too gracious and talented to be jealous about such things. It is surprising to hear that the actress selected to play a character in a true story is of a different ethnic backgroud. I think Angelina is a good actress, I read that she was selected to play the role by Brad Pitt(producer of the film), so we know why Jolie was chosen and I am glad that it had nothing to do with racial issues.I also read that Mariane Pearl (the film is about her and her husband’s life), is really happy to have Angelina play her. I guess this is all that really matters. I am sure Angelina will do a great job!
I do think the comment about “white folks” not complanning about the movie White Chicks is irrelevant. This movie is fictional and is about FBI agents going undercover. You cannot compare the two films, what an idiotic thing to say!
