Jesus, how great does BRAD look? That was my first thought when going through these photos of Angelina’s big NYC premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey. Brad isn’t wearing a g–damn pair of sunglasses, nor is hiding behind some gross beard. He’s relatively well-groomed (for him), he’s wearing a nice suit, his hair is sexy length, and he looks clean. He must really, really want an Oscar, right?
As for Angelina… it was her night, and she looked… okay. I was going to make a big deal about her sack dress, but she’s wearing sack separates – a Joseph top and a Ralph Lauren skirt. I mean… black sack separates, covering up her bust and her figure for the most part. I’m so tired of this look on Angelina. This time last year, she was wearing a gorgeous, white, fuzzy Versace gown to the premiere of The Tourist. I just wish Angelina’s default style was slightly better. Her jewelry is OFIRA – which surprises me. Angelina designed her own jewelry line full of 1970s-style topazes – why not wear some of those?
I’m including photos of Angelina with Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane. Bill and Jane were with Jolie all of Monday as she promoted her film in interviews, and then she posed with them on the red carpet too. Personally, I think Jane Pitt and Angelina get along really well – they seem to enjoy each other, genuinely. I’m not so sure about Bill, though. He seems grumpy, but that might have nothing to do with Angelina. Also posing with Angelina: director and artist Julian Schnabel. Do they know each other? Oh, and James Haven was there with his girlfriend.

OH yes she knows Julian, there is a cute section of a video where they greeted each other before the picture. They embraced briefly… He kissed her hand and she greeted him by his first name. So I guess she does.
Bill was smiling at that Breakfast they attended. The man is not a in your face guy. Very laid back. Dignified for a better word. And yes they seem to like/love Angie very much.

Kind of cosign with Lisa. Although we know AJ is what makes this film a big deal, the focus was on the actors and the film itself. She didn’t need to dress up and make a big deal out of it. And, if she did it purposefully, then that’s very respectful.

To all of those people saying “she didn’t need to dress up or didn’t want to show up the other actors” : She dresses like this even when she is the leading lady in a movie, so I really doubt this is some kind of nice gestures towards all of the unknown actors in the film. She has no sense of fashion and doesn’t know how to wear clothes that flatter her figure.
I agree, she doesn’t do red carpet shilling of designers etc. and she doesn’t go around town dressed sexy. She could, but she doesn’t want to, obviously. She doesn’t even wear the brands she models for. It’s not her focus. She dresses modestly and the va va voom moments are saved for film or promo shots.

I know she was using lots, and she could be using lots now, but I wonder what you think she’s trying to hide. I personally agree with G and like her style because she’s not a shill. It seems she has more important things to think about and do.

I love her but dayum she istoo thin (did you see the outline of her leg in those pics of her in the white pants the other day??? OMG scary!)…and her hair looks awful! I don’t see her as the type to have an eating disorder but her hair is so thin and lifeless, which makes me wonder.
I can usually take or leave Brad, based on looks, but he looks pretty good here. I always prefer him (and any man!) with a more cleaned up look.

Angelina will always be a beautiful woman, but she has been looking worn out this past year. She could really stand to gain 15 lbs–it will fill out her face a bit more and she would look much healthier. Not a fan of what’s she’s wearing–the black top doesn’t really match the black skirt, and I’m not crazy about the necklace. It seems to me that she is going out of her way to wear things that aren’t particularly flattering to her figure. Maybe she wants to be taken seriously and is afraid that wearing anything clingy or sexy will undermine her attempt to be seen as something other than a sex symbol. But maybe I’m biased. . . I’ve never been a fan of that whole shapeless-sack-as-a-dress craze. Brad looks good, and his mom looks like a sweetie.

On other red carpets, like Inglourious Basterds or Salt, these two could be larger than life because their projects were. With this project, A Mighty Heart, or when they show up for Eastwood or Clooney’s red carpet premieres, they usually tone it down.

Actually if you looked other pictures of the premiere the lead actress is wearing a bright red dress, so once again I have feeling that the black isn’t in response to the seriousness of the movies subject. She probably just told everyone in her family to wear black, just like she sometimes has Brad, herself, and the kids in matching color schemes when they go out.

Enough about the talk of the dress and how hot Brad is. What about the actual movie. I am so surprised about how Angie and her team are marketing this movie. For example there is a hold on all reviews, etc. I think that Angie thought that by holding back information people would be desperate to see and talk about the movie. However I think that this plan is backfiring. She is interviewing everywhere but not that many stories on google and mostly just on tabloids or gossip sites. No real excitment on movie blogs. She is too late for the Oscars. I think that some in hollywood do not realize that late December offerings are not good anymore. To many awards that are predict the Oscars are in November/early December and this movie misses this. I realize that she does not expect a huge commerical success – but if she wants this movie to get word out about the war some people need to see it – or it was all for nothing.
The movie isn’t to late for the Oscars the deadline is the 31. It is embargoed to give all the people that have not screened the movie to go in with a clean slate no prejudgements. It is getting great reactions from those who have seen all over twitter.

When all the other actresses in Hollywood are trying to out-do each other with the tightest, shortest, most expensive or most fashionable clothes available, Ange just wears something simple and elegant. She doesn’t NEED to dress any other way – she is arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world. I like her for it – it says loud and clear that she doesn’t think they (clothes) are that important and in the compared with the stuff that she is really interested in, they aren’t.
