This news came out over the weekend but I’m just seeing it now and it’s too good to pass up. Radar Online got ahold of the documents from Kris Jenner’s 1991 divorce from the late legal powerhouse Robert Kardashian. We’ve already heard that Kris cheated on Robert during their marriage. Kris freely admitted to an affair in her memoir and that’s how Khloe was rumored to be conceived. Well according to the divorce papers, Kris unsurprisingly cheated on Robert with her latest husband, diva Bruce Jenner, as well. That’s this lady’s M.O. so it’s to be expected, as is the massive child and spousal support she felt she was entitled to. It’s a pretty interesting read and reveals exactly what matters to this family, and the lengths they’ll go to get it. Here’s more:
According to the divorce papers, which you can read exclusively here on RadarOnline.com, the couple went head-to-head over Kris’ lavish spending and Robert accused his then-wife of flaunting her new relationship with now-husband, Bruce Jenner in front of the children even letting the kids see them in bed together!
In the documents, filed in the Los Angles Superior Court, Robert revealed he was so upset when he found out about the affair, after almost 12 years of marriage, that the court feared he was a threat to his family and awarded Kris temporary custody of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Jr.
But Robert claimed the court ordered psychologist found his anger problems were “only situational.”
“This is true,” Robert said. “It was true that I was very upset when I found out the respondent was having an affair and I wanted a divorce.”
According to the documents, after discovering the affair an angry Robert cancelled Kris’ credit cards, store cards and stopped paying for her extravagant lifestyle something Kris bitterly fought against as she claimed she deserved the “luxury lifestyle” she had been leading.
“The petitioner and I shared a luxury lifestyle,” Kris said in her petition for spousal and child support. “Nothing was too good for our family. Even our children’s clothing was purchased at exclusive boutiques.”
In her petition, Kris goes on to detail her tastes for fancy restaurants and boutiques, high-priced European holidays and lavish home entertainment “The New Year’s Eve party alone cost between $10,000 and $12,000. Since January 1990 the petitioner has essentially cut me off from all funds.
“In order to have some cash at my disposal to meet the basic needs of myself and my children, I have taken a job offered to me by my friend who has just gone through a divorce.
“(But) I am earning less money than our paid household help,” Kris said.
Robert, at the time, claimed to be unemployed and only earning $2,000, but Kris told the court it was voluntary as he wanted more money than what had been offered to him by a law firm, so she demanded he be ordered to work to cover her and the family’s expenses which monthly added up to a massive $37,189!
According to Kris’ sworn statement this included the $15,000 a month mortgage payment on the Beverly Hills home, wages for a gardener, a maid and housekeeper as well as clothing costs. According to Kris, each month she spent $800 on clothing for all four children but spent $2000 on herself.
Kris’ lawyers also demanded Robert pay for the family’s extensive debts on store cards for some of Los Angeles top stores including Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th Avenue which had grown to more than $21,000.
Money problems aside, Kris accused Robert of emotionally abusing her with a then 9-year-old Kim forced to witness the aftermath. “As a result of (Robert) and my irreconcilable differences, there is a tremendous amount of discord at the family residence,” Kris claimed in her petition.
“Every time (Robert) and I speak, (Robert) emotionally abuses me to the point that I am unable to handle the simplest tasks for hours after our conversation. In every conversation (Robert) and I have, (Robert) calls me a whore, a bitch, a slut and other names I can not repeat.
“On May 3, 1990 Kimberly found me crying after a brutal conversation with (Robert) and she became so upset I had a difficult time getting her to her carpool on time. Kimberly called my office twice that afternoon crying hysterically, begging me to come home.”
Because of the alleged abuse and Robert’s erratic but “excessive doting attention” on the children, Kris demanded Robert be banned from the family home. However, Robert argued he be allowed to move back into the home to protect the children from Kris’ now husband Bruce Jenner claiming Bruce and Kris’ relationship was detrimental to the children and Robert Jr. even witnessed his still-married mother in bed with Bruce!
According to Robert’s statement, while he was forced to live with relatives Kris had moved Bruce in, along with his four children including reality star Brody Jenner as well as his extended family.
“I believe this situation is inappropriate for several reasons,” Robert said. “Firstly my children are exposed to another man living with their mother. I believe that is inappropriate and I ask the court to enjoin and restrain (Kris) from living with any member of the opposite sex in or about the presence of our children.
“As a matter of fact, my son Robert said he slept on the couch in (Kris’) bedroom when (Kris) and her boyfriend were in bed together in the bedroom. In my option this situation is detrimental to the children,” Robert told the court.

These are 1991 numbers remember, you can at least double them to estimate what they would be today. Poor Kris. She cheated on her husband, got caught and then complained that she could no longer afford to buy her kids designer clothing and go out to the best restaurants. The gall of these people is astounding. So if she didn’t get caught, would she have continued to cheat on the side? She probably never would have married Bruce if she didn’t need another meal ticket. She just wanted to get her rocks off during the day when she had nothing else to do, just as she explained in her memoir about the other guy. I doubt those were the only two affairs she had either.
Speaking of Bruce, he was seen out over the weekend with a large scar on his face that looked like it was the result of plastic surgery. He claimed it was from the removal of a cancerous growth. He’s had several facelifts and has admitted to plastic surgery, so maybe he’s telling the truth. Or maybe he took a stiletto in the face from Kris.
Also, check out the photo of Kris above. It’s from January 14. Compared to the photos of her below which are older, she looks like she got even more work done. So she probably went to the surgeon with Bruce.

Two years ago, I got sucked into a “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” marathon and enjoyed it. I thought they were entertaining but pretty harmless. Now … ugh. They’re just trashy, desperate, greedy famewhores whose disgusting antics have been exposed. Gross.
The same thing happened to me! I got sucked into the show by my cousin and thought, naively, that they were a fine family. Now I can’t stand them! They are exemplification of all that is wrong with the modern world and Hollywood.

You are so spot on. The interesting thing about Robert K. is I will always remember the look on his face when the verdict came down. He actually looked disappointed OJ wasn’t convicted. It is classic. Go back and look if you can find some video. I have a theory that he knew good and well he did it because RK was always accused of hiding evidence and maybe he felt guilty IMO. Makes one wonder anyway.
Look up OJ’s eldest son Jason Simpson, and you might find it interesting. One thing a person might be willing to take a murder rap for? Their child. There is a documentary you can see for free online. Bill Dear is a man who spent years and a ton of money looking into this. Anyway RK may have known who did it, he was the one who drove OJ to the airport.
I think RK knew exactly what happened that night. I suspect Kris knows too. Wish the media would make more of the OJ – Kardashian connection. I always felt that Bruce may have thyroid disease (hypothyroid) because it seems he’s lost the outer third of his brow. That is usually a sign of being hypothyroid.
Over the weekend I was home and decided to check out the Miss America pageant for nostalgia and laughs. Well who was there as a judge but this beast! What a cynical and gross move on behalf of the pageant to have Kris Jenner as a judge. The only reason she got that gig is because of a reality show that came about because she promoted her daughter’s sex tape.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Miss America and pageants in general are stupid but I was just dsigusted at the hypocrisy of this praying mantis of a mother judging young women in a SCHOLARSHIP pageant.

It makes sense now. Out of the older three girls Kim is the weakest. Kourtney and Khloe have really their own way of thinking and living , granted they all love the spotlight and money. But seeing the shows from the beginning and till now, I can see how she manipulates Kim in all aspects of her life. She knows Kim buttons and insecurities. When Kim was little she must have seen her mother fighting with her dad about money and seeing her crying about we going to lose the house, no food or cloths etc, etc. I think that instill in Kim to do whatever it takes or antics to keep that money security going. Never letting a man support her or be a judge or jury. In the early days of the series Kris had said that Bruce was the one who step in and spoke to Robert in saying enough with the courts and money issues. That he (Bruce) will take care of Kris and the Kids himself financially. Kris also said this as well and that is why she love him so much. That he took sole financial responsibilities for her family.–Now years later Bruce Jenner is waiting for his nuts to drop and get out of the garage and back to the house . Or just buy another helicopter toy. As for Kim, well we know , wherever Kim goes Kris is not far away. – I do give Kris Jenner props, she will definitely make sure none of her kids won’t be with security and money. She has learn its f-in scary almost losing everything and to start over again, and of course a working JOB. Kris married Bruce in five months, in April 1991, after meeting him on a blind date. That has been their story.
The court papers said that Bruce and members of his family were living with Kris in January of 1991 and that Robert wanted him out of the house. Did Bruce start living with Kris and her children ONE MONTH after she met him? The timeline seems very fishy.

Hang on a minute. I loathe this woman, but, if she was essentially a housewife (was she?) during their marriage and the burden of child rearing fell mainly on her, she was entitled to alimony, and yes, to the lifestyle she and her children had become used to. She was married to him for a long time, not 6 months or something ridiculous like that, and she had 4 children with him. One more thing, her ex-husband seems to me just as much of an ass as her and their children.
I agree with you on one level but I think this is a flaw in the legal system. So just because a wife becomes bored with her huband she is entitled to go after another man and expect the current husband to provide her with the same life she was used to? Seems like if she wants out then she shouldn’t get to keep everything. Now, if he is the one who wants to leave her because he is bored than he should have to pay support. Sort of like changing jobs. You don’t get to keep your benefits from the first job.
Actually, there doesn’t seem to be a flaw in the legal system. As far as I know, when the paid-for spouse re-marries, the alimony, although not the child support, stops. And in Kris Jenner’s case this happened very quickly, after 6 months or something.
Also, to suggest that the person who no longer loves or wants to be with their spouse (but has for a long time been financially-dependent on the spouse because they stayed at home to raise the children) should be denied alimony is a very bad idea, for two reasons. Firstly, because if that were the case no financially-dependent spouse would dare to walk out on their wealthier partner and would thereby be at the mercy of their goodwill and/or whims. Secondly, because it implies that the partner who is unemplyed and carries the burden of child-rearing duties is merely providing a service to the wealthier partner which they are paid for by being fed and clothed. I really don’t think that any man or woman who has given up on their financial independence to set up a home and raise children sees it that way.

Marriage is a contract indeed. You and I simply disagree over what kind of contract it should be. Let me spell it out for you: the understanding is that in a marriage, especially when children are involved, both partners works towards the common good as it were, i.e. the well being of the family unit. This common good goes beyond the individual needs and desires of any one of the partners (or indeed any one member of the family), although they obviously are a part of it. It would thus be absurd to suggest that the stay-at-home spouse is employed by the working spouse.
Also, much as I loathe Kris Jenner, let’s not be infantile and play good guy/bad guy here. I find Robert Kardashian just as unappealing as Kris Jenner and all of their offspring.
On a final note, just because one, Kris Jenner in this case, is an a**hole, that does not mean that they do not take their marriage seriously or that they cannot have a successful marriage. Success and happiness in a marriage are not reserved for the morally righteous. The world is a tad more complicated than that.
@Ida Now according to a friend of mine here at school, she claims her father helped represent Robert in the divorce and that she grew up with Kim. I cannot vouch for her but this is what she told me: She married Bruce because she did not get spousal support and child support was way less than she asked for The judge effectively laughed in her face at her demands and because Robert had evidence of her affairs, she ended up looking very bad in court and got the legally minimal amount of child support. The judge has discretion in no fault divorces to decide final amounts and whatnot due to circumstances. Of course, Robert provided for his children but he did so by paying for their schooling and whenever his children asked for money he gave it to them. He only had to give Kris a fraction of what she asked for.
Oh and according to my friend, Kim was always Kris’ favorite because she is exactly like Kris. Robert cut her off after she got married the 1st time. Robert saw the writing on the wall and didn’t want anything to do with Kim.

I’ve just read Robert’s declaration to the court via RadarOnline’s link.
It says he was paying, as ordered by the court: $750/month/child ($3000/month total) for child support; $2000/month for spousal support; lump sum of $14,500 to Kris for her to pay off her debts to various dept. stores, grocery store, credit cards, & cell phone bills; paying for mortgage, utilities, insurance, gardener & pool maintenance expenses; had the kids on his dental & health insurance. Also, the house they were living in was his own separate property.
But she had Bruce move into Robert’s house and demanded Robert pay for her & Bruce’s lifestyle i.e. $15k/month mortgage, maid, housekeeper, gardener, etc.
I say if the wife kicks out the husband and moves her boyfriend in, then the wife & boyfriend should pay for THEIR OWN ‘rent’ & servants that cater to THEM. I think it’s arrogant to expect the husband to pay for such an arrangement.
And I know the kids live there, but still… if the boyfriend (& Bruce had his own money) has the means & Kris had a job too & both are enjoying the benefits of living at the husband’s house & use of the husband’s employees, then the husband shouldn’t have to pay for the FULL mortgage & the FULL salaries of the servants. That’s just really lame on Kris & Bruce’s part.
Robert should be accountable for child support, but NOT the living expenses of Kris’ & her live-in lover.
Ida – my argument is if someone wants to quit the team just because they decide they want someone better why should the other partner have to support that? I think of marriage as a contract or agreement if you will. I know my own standard of ethics is high but obviously not many other greedy selfish women. Now, if the husband is shown to be cruel or having his own affair or whatever than yes he should pay but if a woman is a gold digging evil woman like Kris I find it outrageous to demand to live the way you are accustomed to. It is like demanding to have your cake and eat it too. But on a side note, I for one haven’t figured out how men have been tricked for centuries to support someone else anyway.
@ Ida – Kris moved her rich boyfriend AND the bf’s OWN FOUR KIDS into Robert’s $15k/month house, after kicking out her husband & denying his request to move back in & not allow her rich boyfriend to live there.
Since she already had a job & a live-in rich boyfriend, I don’t see why her husband has to pay over $37k/month so that she & her rich boyfriend could live there free at the house w/ servants and without paying their fair share of the bills.
I think a reasonable amount of money for a moderate living standards is fine, but when after at least two affairs with finally moving one boyfriend in, I don’t see why Robert has to pay for Bruce & Kris’ lifestyles of the rich and famous. Didn’t Bruce have his own home at the time, especially since he has four kids of his own?
It sounds unreasonable to expect your husband to pay for your & your boyfriend’s & your boyfriend’s FOUR kids living expenses at your own house with your own employees attending to them.
This means Kris was asking Robert for living expenses for TEN PEOPLE, SIX of whom weren’t related to him!
I also wanted to mention that Bruce moved in not only his four kids, but EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS as well. Why should Robert have to pay to cater & shelter to all of Bruce’s family too? Especially when it was Bruce who helped break up his marriage?
anne_000 – Morally you are right IMO. However, the kids did live with Kris, and although she did let Bruce move in, that doesn’t make Bruce financially responsible for Kris’ children. Robert was still the other parent not Bruce. The fact is that this happened in California, and it is a no-fault/community property state. So, legally her affairs had no bearing, and she was entitled to half of their community property. Also, it was a marriage that was considered long-term as it lasted more than ten years. Marriages that are long term can entitle either spouse to alimony until death or remarriage, and retirement benefits, etc. That’s California family law, the whole spousal/alimony thing is a moot point anyway as Kris remarried rather quickly. On another note I think she’s terrible person, but not regarding this divorce.
EDIT: The alternative could have been to force the sale and liquidation of all community held assets, and divide them 50/50. That would have resulted in the kids being removed from the family home, and Robert could have pushed for that, he obviously didn’t want to.

Actually Robert was trying to sell/lease the house. He said that Kris let the house fall into disrepair. Ex: During a party, someone put grafitti on the inside entry wall and didn’t repair it.
Also, community property only means to split the assets. It doesn’t have anything to do with support…from what little I know. Robert was trying to get lower the support payments as he was also trying to move back into the house until it sold or was leased out. Also, he was applying for joint physical custody of his kids.

anne_000. You’re right that support and community property/assets are separate issues. I think they were fighting, and that Robert was angry at her betrayal, anyone would be. Kris should have vacated the house if it’s true that it was Robert’s property before they got married. Only assets acquired during the marriage are considered for the division of community assets. As for custody issues that’s a whole other issue separate from divorce although it is addressed during a divorce, and can change over time for various reasons. I don’t doubt he wanted more access to his children as he seemed to love them very much. I think the real issue between them was her betrayal and his anger about it. I’m also of the opinion that he was very angry at Kris for bringing ANY man around their kids, and then having him move in, I could totally understand that as it was a trashy move on her part. I was just pointing out that in a declaration you can say ANYTHING you believe to be true (like him saying the judge probably let her stay in the house if she ended her affair, he can say probably but unless it’s documented it’s just Roberts opinion on the judges ruling), but at the end of the day the laws are what they are, and assets will be divided accordingly. Alimony is based on many things including to what capacity either party could earn money using education and employment background. Child support is based on custody/time spent with the children, and in California it is high because of the high cost of living. So, all the bickering back and forth that they both chose to do was unnecessary unless it had to do with the home, or any other asset being his separate property before marriage, which if true he could easily prove. I understand what you’re saying, I think what she did was wrong too, but her behavior doesn’t trump family law in California. Not arguing, just being pragmatic I guess.

This is kind of hilarious! I can’t even imagine the logic. I’m trying to picture asking a court to order my ex-husband to get a higher-paying job to better support our children. I have friends who would LOVE to be able to have their ex-husbands “ordered” to work to support them and their kids. I know of men who refuse to work so they don’t have to pay support. If only, if only.
Oh, and we are all trying to put food on the table. I don’t spend $2000 on clothes for myself over two years, much less a month! If you are accustomed to a luxury lifestyle, I think you’d better hold up your end of the bargain and be a faithful wife!!
I’m not defending Kris in any way, but those are typical tactics used by lawyers during a divorce. They usually claim that whoever was the “breadwinner” makes much more money than they actually do. They usually do that to force that person to produce documentation of their true income. In California an income can be imputed (income added to that person based on education and employment background) to either party if the court feels they are under-employing themselves. Robert was unemployed, however he was an educated man that “could” have been employed in his chosen profession (and we all know how good Robert was at his profession), yet was choosing not to be employed. As a parent it was his responsibility to support his children. No one can bring a child into the world and then choose to not support that child. The same could, and should have been applied to Kris herself, she should have been ordered to get an education, or find employment, and it seems she was as she had a job. It’s both parents responsibility to support their kids. As far as their lavish lifestyle goes, that was just a ploy by Kris to get as much spousal support as possible, but spousal support goes both ways, and Robert being unemployed at the time could have counter sued on that issue. The reason he didn’t is probably because Kris had custody of the kids. This looks like it was an ugly divorce, and when that happens it’s the children who suffer.
God, she’s so gross. oh well. Bob married her so he got what he deserved in a way. She was a stewardess I think when they met.

Okay so I know everyone hates the K family, but are you all really this heartless? She married a guy who essentially controlled every financial aspect of their life together and did not even allow her access to the checking account! What an asshole. She wasn’t even sure what their investments were or what other income they had coming in, only vague notions because he purposefully kept her in the dark. And what douche decides to financially abandon his children? That is just NEVER okay! HE bought a house with a $15k mortgage – so even if he hates his wife, he still needed to provide for the children living there. And it’s absolutely sick to me that he would employ the housekeeper to take Rob Jr. to mommy & me classes while Kris worked retail just to keep food on the table. I don’t care how much you hate her, or how wrong HER actions were – the kids were punished for it and that is reprehensible. Furthermore, I don’t condone cheating, but clearly this was not a healthy nor happy relationship if she was financially trapped and treated unequally in the marriage. Cheaters cheat for a reason. And it’s kind of amazing to me how much the kids still cherish their father, despite all he did and what kind of crap Kris could have said about their dad over the years. But obviously she didn’t ruin their view of Robert and instead they were allowed to grow up loving a father who basically abandoned them to the funds of Bruce Jenner. I have much less respect for Robert then Kris. And now her greedy hysteria makes so much more sense – she is always saying, over and over again, that she’s “just trying to set everyone up for life.” Clearly she still feels tremendous fear that any of her children could be left without in the same way she was.
@ Abby – I didn’t see in the article where it says Robert was going to ‘financially abandon’ his family. On the contrary, it says he was giving his kids excessive doting attention. So I doubt he would have made his kids into paupers.
Regarding the house, Kris kicked Robert out, denied his request to move back in, and then moved in Bruce, Bruce’s four kids as well as Bruce’s extended family members into that $15k/month house that Kris wanted Robert to keep paying for, as well as the salaries of the servants who will serve all of Bruce’s relatives.
So how much was Bruce going to pay for the cost of sheltering & catering his own family? I guess $0 since Kris expected Robert to pay it all for the whole crowd. How lame & arrogant is that? Bruce should have offered to pay some share of those costs, since THE MAJORITY of the people living at the house were his own relatives.
There was 5 Kardashians (Kris & the kids) plus more than 5 Jenners (Bruce, his 4 kids, and his extended family members). So in that house, the count was: Jenners > Kardashians.
go read the court documents – she goes into extensive detail about the finances and aftermath. he absolutely abandoned his children financially.
You ‘set your kids up for life’ by providing them an education, instilling self-esteem, teaching manners and pride in worth wile achievements. It has very little to do with cash and very much with common sense, love and encouragement.
You don’t sell them down the road and back, trade cash for dignity and increase ridiculous spending in line with crazy income.

It says he was paying, as ordered by the court: $750/month/child ($3000/month total) for child support; $2000/month for spousal support; lump sum of $14,500 to Kris for her to pay off her debts to various dept. stores, grocery store, credit cards, & cell phone bills; paying for mortgage, utilities, insurance, gardener & pool maintenance expenses; had the kids on his dental & health insurance. Also, the house they were living in was his own separate property.
He was trying to sell/lease the house, but says Kris was allowing it to fall into disrepair, e.g. allowing graffiti to be on the entry way wall without repairing it.
Also, he was petitioning to move back into the house until it sold/leased and for joint physical custody.
He says that his paying all the bills, which she wasn’t doing, caused him to draw down on his line of credit until it was nearly gone and ate up the equity of his house, which was his separate property. So it sounds like he did his best to keep up with all the bills.
He also told the court that since he believed the judge allowed Kris to stay in the house with the kids based on her claim that she ended her affair (with a Todd Watermann). But that after that judgment, and without telling the judge, moved in Bruce, his four kids, his father, his father’s girlfriend, and his sister. He wanted them out.
He asked that he himself could live there with his kids until the house was sold/leased. He even got a psychological evaluation in order to try to make this happen.

I remember watching an ep. of KUWTK and they made it seem like Bruce and Robert Sr. were best friends.
