Victoria Beckham was on hand last night at the GREAT British film reception, which honored this year’s British Oscar nominees. Naturally, Victoria wore one of her own designs with this ultra-fitted (like all of her looks) military green dress. Once again, this look works well on her because she’s so tiny, but on any celebrity with a “normal” body, it would probably be ridiculous. Victoria paired the dress with black leather above-the-knee boots and an odd-looking beige clutch. She still looks worn out and exhausted as hell at this event. Usually, people want Victoria to eat a sandwich, but I merely want her to take a few naps. As a veteran of Non-Sleeping Baby Syndrome myself, it’s exhausting just to look at her.
Gary Oldman was also there with his stunning wife, Alexandra Edenborough, whose little black dress seemed like she had a matching tank top underneath, which makes for a much too complicated effect from what should just be a simple, figure-flattering look. Gary’s up for Best Actor, and while he probably won’t win, he probably really will be the only guy there who’s just honored to be nominated.
Kenneth Branagh and his wife, Lindsay Brunnock, were in attendance as well. Ken’s up for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in My Week With Marilyn. That checkered tie just doesn’t do it for me.
Christopher Plummer, who seems to be the frontrunner for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Beginners was there too. This was not a good night for British dudes wearing ties.
Finally, James Frain takes care of all the remaining eye candy quotient that wasn’t already engulfed by Gary Oldman. James is attractive, but I’d like to give him a good shampooing.

The bags under her eyes say, “I’m tired.” The rest of her face, however, looks TOTALLY pissed-off.
She is getting too old for that non-smiling faux-fierce glare. You can get away with that when you are youngish but past a certain age, the whole “I don’t smile thing” is just starting to make he look grumpy and old. She needs to smile a bit if she doesn’t want to look haggard – especially when she is that under nourished and sleep deprived.

I don’t really “get” Victoria Beckham. She has a great life and great looks but she always looks so darned miserable. She swears she isn’t but I’ve never seen her smile or look happy. I can’t help but think that I wouldn’t swap lives with her, as much as she has.
She’s still married to Becks, has 4 lovely children, is sucessful, rich etc etc. Unless Posh n Becks are putting on the performance of a lifetime (ie they’re miserable and only staying together for the sake of Brand Beckham) I’d trade places with her anyday. I wonder what they’re like when it’s just them together. I hope she smiles for her family. PS Branagh still looks good. I once watched Walking with Dinosaurs just to hear his voice….sigh.
Oldman and Branagh are both very good looking older dudes but Oldman really needs to lose the fur on his face.
Victoria looks absolutely dreadful. She needs a few good square meals, and a three week holiday somewhere relaxing. Don’t the nannies get up in the night to Harper? Her boobs are small, but I still think she needs a bra under that dress..and peep toe boots…NOT floating my boat. Very happy about the Kenneth Branagh photos..swoooon…so gorgeous!

Opened toe thigh high boots are weird. Boots higher than the dress hemline Jack up her silhouette. I’m glad to she she’s not in the pointed collared school marm look she’s been favoring of late. The softer hair does her wonders.
I do hope Harper 7 sleeps soon I really love fashionable Posh. My kids are middle schoolers and still don’t sleep through the night, they just don’t need nursed anymore 😉

I love what I have seen of her line. She has a good eye for the cut of a dress, and to be honest a lot of her pieces remind me of The Limited Express mid-80’s, that is NOT a crack. I have two sweet dresses from The Express that look EXACTLY like her line. I don’t know who was designing for them back then, but they did put out a handful of “timeless” pieces albeit “cheaply” made. Any 80’s Ladies from The Mall scene wanna concur?

I’ve been there, done that, with two small children born 12 months apart. I breastfed a 1 year old and a newborn and I was F$%KED! I was sooooo tired. But when I (on the rare occasion) got dressed up to go out, I would make up my face carefully, with concealer, eyelash curler, mascara and blush so I didn’t have that “I am an exhausted breastfeeding mother’ look about me.
So why is she bunging on all this eye makeup that makes her look like the walking dead? Trust me, if Vicky B wanted to look fresh and perky, Baby, she’d be looking fresh and perky!

I agree, if one of the vainest women in the world wants to looks fresh, she will look fresh. I’m not sure why she’s doing it, but it feels contrived. There’s something about her makeup, the way she’s doing the lower half of her eyes. Whatever it is, that sullen look combined with the hardcore posing are getting really, really irritating.
My sentiments exactly. Is she tired? Sure, anyone who eats 300 calories a day & flies from time zone to time zone is bound to be tired. That said, she looks “exhausted” due to her makeup application. I call 40% tired, 60% puttin’on the dog …(as my Mom would say).

I like Victoria Beckham. The live interviews I’ve seen her do, and in short-lived reality show that she had, she’s funny, witty, and kind of a doof. And more importantly, she was unscripted for the most part. I’ve heard her mention a couple of times that she doesn’t smile much because she doesn’t LIKE her smile; she thinks it makes her look goofy. However, in these pics, she does look unwell, dead-eyed and kind of out of it, which isn’t good. She doesn’t seem like she’d be an abuser of prescription drugs or anything like that, so – get some sleep, girl!

Not so fun fact about her clothing line – The clothes are made up very small with regards sizing. Whatever size it says in the label, you have to go up a size or two in order to find the right fit.

I do like the dress and think it could be worn by a lot of woman. Tired or not…she could smile and act like she is happy. There are woman of every walk of life who are tired and they juggle work and motherhood and have a lot less money! Smile, Victoria! You have a lot to be happy about.
