Malia and Sasha Obama invited to appear on Hannah Montana

When you’re 7 and 10 years old the excitement of your dad becoming President of the United States might be a little lost on you. But being invited to appear on Hannah Montana is a whole other story. Malia and Sasha Obama, President Elect Barack and Michelle Obama’s daughters, have been invited to appear on the hit Disney show.

President-elect Barack Obama’s two young daughters have been invited to appear on popular kids television show “Hannah Montana,” actor Billy Ray Cyrus said an interview aired on Monday.

Cyrus, the father of “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus and also an actor on the hit Disney Channel show, said the show had asked Malia, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, to take part in an episode possibly around April.

“They probably will. The invitation is there,” Cyrus told Access Hollywood in an interview. “You know the ‘Hannah Montana’ film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then.”

Pressed for details, Cyrus said; “I can’t, I can’t. I have got to keep a secret.”

Obama has mentioned that his girls are big fans of the popular tween show so I’m sure they’re freaking out right about now. But the next President and his wife haven’t said if the invitation will be accepted. The girls have been kept pretty sheltered from the media side of the circus that has surrounded their family for the last year, and that’s been done on purpose.

How would you explain to your pre-teen girls, who will be right in the midst of having their world turned upside down in April, that they can’t go be a part of a show they’re crazy about. Sasha and Malia appear to be very mature and well-raised young ladies, but no 7 and 10-year olds could be expected to be that understanding. On the other hand, it would be hard as a parent to let your young, impressionable daughters go hang out with Miley Cyrus.

Not gonna happen. Billy’s trying to sell a movie. No way will Michelle stand by and watch her kids be turned into commodities.
Hillary was so smart to keep Chelsea away from stuff like this.

  2. Kay says:

I dont see some one named “Billy Ray” as a big ….. Democrat I guess you could say. Sounds like hes trying to just get press out of those two girls 🙁

  3. what is ever. says:

I think it’d be great if they respectfully declined due to the inappropriate chode-like behavior of the star.

  4. Trillion says:

    Chode!!! hahahahahaha!!!!
I really hate Michelle Obama’s dress from all angles. Not flattering on her and she’s a beautiful woman.

  5. Ana' says says:

Oh that’s a hard one. The girls would luv it but them appearing on the show would kind of sends a message to the media that the kids are fair game. I say they respectfully decline. And totally agree with Trillion, that dress was not very flattering on Michelle. Actually, I’m not sure if it would be flattering on anyone. Not a fan of that garment.

  6. Anna says:

I know this may be disappointing for the girls if they don’t get to do it, but I really hope their parents won’t let them. I’m not sure acting on a tween TV show with sleezebag Billy Ray Cyrus is fit for the soon-to-be first daughters of America. They will be famous enough as it is, this will just make them an even bigger paparazzi and tabloid target. And in my opinion, Presidents (of all nations) should strive not to be in the yellow press. I know that sometimes it’s unavoidable, but it’s really not something that should be facilitated.

Maybe they can have Miley come over to the White House, so that the girls get to meet their idol? That would be sweet and much more appropriate (if she doesn’t invite her boyfriend along and then makes it a sleep-over).

and Trillion: I disagree. I think the dress looks fantastic on her. I saw a pic of it on the runway and it was worn by a twiggy pale blonde model who looked so wrong it it. Michelle rocked that dress!

  7. Just Say No, Michelle.

  8. Jaclyn says:

I hope they don’t let them go! They’ll be tainted after the show. Miley will give them “advice” about dating between takes!

  9. Syko says:

    They could get cooties.

  10. Lore says:

This family is in the process of making real history. I hope they don’t join the cult of celebrity and here-today-and-gone-tomorrow kind of fame.

  11. Kaiser says:

Has it really been documented that the girls like Miley? I’ve heard that they’re fans of the Jonas Bros, but not Miley.

  12. DYLAN RIVIS says:

Not a good choice for the girls, even 5 months ahead.I think the Obama’s need to test the water as far as their kids go…very, very cautiously.

Now bringing Miley Cyrus and her dad to the White House..that’s another story. Then it’s two dads with their kids.

  13. Mairead says:

I actually like the dress- I think it’s the cardigan that makes a hames of it – a sparkly little shrug would have looked better.

As for them appearing in Hanna Montana – they’re probably thinking in some stilted way, like a school-trip to Washington and bump into the kids along with Michelle at the White House. Just don’t leave them alone with Miley! 😉

  14. Codzilla says:

Please, please let the Obamas slam the door in Billy’s face. What a scumbag.

  15. Bellatrix says:

Not a good idea. Obama clan, do you copy? Do you copy? I repeat, do you copy?

As for Michelle’s dress: I believe it is a rather good look. It has classic colours yet a very funky twist without loosing any elegance. I especially love the way the black satin crosses the red part on the front: it is a lovely parallel to the way her husband wears his jacket! The symbol of unity between these two is visually very strong.
I would definitely not call it unflattering. It just takes a little sense of self-consciousness and pride to wear something that is not conventional. The coloured parts on the front do put emphasis on the hips and breasts but a woman showing off her curves is a beautiful thing (as long as she keeps it classy 😀 ).

  16. Anna says:

Bellatrix, you are so right. I maintain that Michelle rocked that dress!

  17. I don’t like the dress on her and I don’t like it much on the model either. I don’t think it’s a good cut for her. She’s got a great figure. This doesn’t show off her best assets. She looks a good 25 lbs heavier than she actually is. The whole thing just doesn’t work. She should get back to rockin the heels. Nothing brings a smile to my face like a fellow glamazon standing up tall and strutting in stilettos. She and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy need to return to the heels.

  18. lanette says:

i do not think the Obama’s will allow them to go on the show. no way, no how.

  19. Lynn says:

Yeah, I don’t think the Obamas should let their girls into the entertainment business and the media more than they have to, but jeez:

“On the other hand, it would be hard as a parent to let your young, impressionable daughters go hang out with Miley Cyrus.”

Uncalled for. You’re basicly saying they shouldn’t be around any teenager ever, Miley is not a bad kid. If she is, I must have been the Devil incarnate.

  20. Rio says:

Good gravy, I always find it impossible to believe Malia is only *10*. That girl’s going to be 9 feet tall!

  21. Rosanna says:

Given that I really think that Michelle Obama is ugly and gross and the only think I like about her husband are his teeth, Malia is GORGEOUS, STUNNING, WOW!

  22. Jeanne says:

Don’t do it girls. You both are too classy to appear on that show. Miley should instead ask Sarah Palin to come on. She can play Hannah’s crazy ass aunt who hunts moose and wears red lipstick, oh and sings.

  23. Sharon k. says:

Mom and Daddy Obama will prolly let the girl meet Miley, but not appear on the show. Barack said that doing the interview with ET or some show was a mistake and letting them on Hannah Montana would be a mistake.

  24. Roni says:

I think Michelle Obama is gorgeous and she is so classy and I think Barack is sexy in a classy way also. I think they have a beautiful family. As far as Michelle’s dress being “ugly” she could have come out on that stage wearing a potatoe sack and I wouldn’t have cared because I am so proud of this beautiful BLACK family!!! As the song goes, “we moving on up, we FINALLY going to get a piece of the pie!”

  25. Joanne says:

The Obama girls are as homely as the Bruce Willis/Demi Moore girls. UGLY!
