Angelina Jolie discusses The Leg situation: “I honestly didn’t pay attention to it”

Have you gotten over Angelina Jolie’s Leg of Doom yet? I hope so. But maybe Angelina doesn’t want you to forget The Leg. Maybe The Leg wants to haunt you. Maybe The Leg wants to control you. Maybe The Leg is truly The Villainess Jolie, and has been the whole time. Whatever. To recap, during the Oscars, Angelina Jolie simply would NOT put her leg away. She was wearing a black velvet Versace gown that had a high slit, and I honestly thought at the time (and I still think) that she simply trying to “work” the gown.

When Angelina got on stage to announce the winners of the Screeplay awards, she once again posed with her leg out, contorting her body playfully (once again, that’s what I thought, and I still think that). When the winners of Best Adapted Screenplay came to collect their trophies, The Descendants’ scribe Jim Rash thrust out his leg too, doing a funny homage to Angelina’s pose. Once again, “funny” in my mind. To other people, Jim Rash was obviously “slamming” and “mocking” Angelina, because of heroin, brother-kissing and husband-stealing, obvs. The Leg became a “thing” and people used words like “controversy” and “Holocaust” to describe the incident. Seriously. In any case, The Leg is now speaking up for itself. Here’s what Angelina has to say about the incident:

“I honestly didn’t pay attention to it. You know what I mean? I don’t watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don’t click on it. And the people I surround myself with don’t really talk about that kind of stuff. [Laughs]. I heard something, but I didn’t pay any attention. It’s as simple as being a woman picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else.”

[Via HuufPo]

Okay… ugh. Look, I’m obviously Team Jolie and everything, but I think Angelina struck the wrong tone here. She sounds defensive, and like she’s trying too hard to convince us that she didn’t and doesn’t care what we think. Which, to my mind, is BS. She knew that a “controversy” (however dumb and overplayed) had spread, and over the next few weeks, we got Angelina’s real reaction to the “controversy”: a series of photo ops with the kids, with Angelina not showing off her figure at all, plus some high-profile charity and political work. That’s how she dealt with the “crisis”. She didn’t ignore it – she changed the story.

Also, I should note that Jim Rash insisted that he meant absolutely no harm to Angelina, and he was not “slamming” or “mocking” her. He said it on Oscar night, and he’s said it in interviews afterwards too. Right after the Oscars, he told E! News: “My argument is, I felt she was owning that….She even chuckled beforehand, so I thought, ‘That’s a great way for me to sort of own this proud moment.’ As soon as she got up there, she sort of chuckled and I thought she was sort of like saying, ‘Check this out, I’m gonna work this dress.’ And she did. So I was like, ‘Well, I’m gonna work my tux’…I wish it had a slit down the side, because I have amazing legs.” Rash said that he hadn’t heard anything from Brad or Angelina but “If they wanted me to come to a pool party and explain that to their face, I would. I hope I have not burned some bridges. I did pass Brad on the way out and nothing happened…he didn’t punch me or anything. My face is still perfect.” Then, just last week, Rash talked about the incident with The AV Club:

AVC: Going back to Oscar night: You’re onstage, about to accept the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Was it just an old improv instinct that kicked in, encouraging you to strike the Angelina Jolie pose?
JR: You know, it’s weird. Some people agree with me, understand what I’m saying—but as you’re waiting for that moment, for that envelope to be opened, Angelina got onstage, and with her pose and stance—I just thought it was fun because I thought she was owning and having fun with and rocking her outfit. When I got up there, we were proud, it was this long journey and all of a sudden your name is read and you’re outside of your head, and I thought “What a great way to just show off a proud moment”—with the Oscar on my leg. [Laughs.] I guess I didn’t see it as mocking. [Jolie] was doing it and owning it and having fun, so I thought that would be fun to see my version of it. I wouldn’t call it mocking, like everyone did. I felt bad that was the reaction. I was just having fun, so hopefully she took it all in good fun.

AVC: Have you heard anything from the Pitt-Jolie camp?
JR:
I can’t imagine. Most people I’ve spoken with who have met her and him say they have a great sense of humor. All I was doing was doing my version of that proud moment, whatever it is. Doesn’t mean I won’t write her a letter. [Laughs.] Why not.

AVC: How would that letter start?
JR:
“Dear Angelina. I’m the bald, bespectacled guy.” Probably something I would do, though, because I just want her to know what I was thinking. Neurotic.

[From The AV Club]

Seriously. He didn’t mean anything by it. For real.

I can’t believe we’re still talking about this.

  2. I.want.shoes says:

I can’t believe the leg is still getting press…

Seriously though, I would much more have preferred if she had commented with a joke, rather than pretend she is above hearing comments on her. It sounds like total BS and like she tries too hard.

  3. Monie says:

We would kinda forget about the leg if you stopped reminding us about it every other day. :-/

  4. lisa says:

That quote is a bit weird. It was not an interview but a quote. She doesn’t usually give interviews when she is not promoting.

It seemed very cut and paste. but who knows. I’m done with all the leg talk. It was how long ago. I’m sure this will become a crazy thread.

    I’m stepping away from it.

    • samira677 says:

I agree this quote is weird. She and Brad don’t give random quotes and if this was an interview, where is it? I don’t why peole claim Angelina is obsessed with her image. If she cared so much about public opinion why hasn’t she put Shiloh in a dress, given up her career, married Brad, and a thousand other things she’s attacked for?

    • pwal says:

Actually, Blood and Honey is coming out on DVD this week.

    • cameron says:

      I agree. It’s seems so cut/paste.

So Angie personally interviewed with Huffpost a month after the Oscar’s to discuss her leg pose.

      After the Oscars:
I must attend the trial at The Hague for a war crimnal, check. MIR charity event to raise money for the people of NOLA. check , call the Huff post a month after the Oscars to discuss my leg pose at the Oscars.. check

If anyone bother to read the post on Huffpost there are no quotations around her comments. No reason as to why and when this interview took place.

HP? and not People Magazine who has covered or had the scoop of any major or minor event in the JP household.

      It just sounds so fake..

  5. Claire says:

Well, maybe, just maybe, she’s a little pissed that the freakin’ leg had had 10 times more press that the movie she made about that war, over there, where was it ? Ex-yougoslavia? Maybe she didn’t want to joke about it? Or maybe she genuinely doesn’t care because it has genuinely no importance in her life. That is astonishing isn’t it.

  6. Jackie says:

he was clearly making fun of her, but, so what?

these people take themselves way to seriously. she is a very wealthy, privileged ACTOR….why can’t we make fun of her and others in her crowd.

she should have laughed at herself, and he should not be falling all over himself making excuses.

    • LadyJane says:

      Cosign.

    • sup says:

      amen.

    • Kara Ann says:

Completely agree with you that he was making fun of her.
I do think that she should have responded with a joke or demonstrated in some way that she can laugh at herself. Her response makes her seem humorless and, frankly, it’s unbelievable.

    • Daphne says:

Exactly. That’s why it’s been really hard for me to appreciate her ever since she turned herself into Mother Teresa. How much more personable and likeable would she be if she simply laughed it off and made a joke about it? Instead, she’s always trying to tell us just how much she doesn’t care, doesn’t read about herself, doesn’t know, etc. Yet she knows enough to feel like she’s got to comment on it. I’m with Kaiser. It’s a try-hard moment. But I disagree with Kaiser in that the entire night of the Oscars was a try-hard moment for her. She’d be all-powerful if she’d just try and not take herself so seriously. Like we’re going to believe she didn’t care about it. ANYBODY would care about the fact that the entire world was mocking your stance, your body, etc. That people all over the internet were photoshopping your leg onto Meryl Streep’s chicken. Of course you’d care. That is, if you’re not a robot. Which, it would seem, she wants us to think she is.

  7. Turtle Dove says:

She’s got 6 kids, a busy career, massive charity work, and a gorgeous husband. The leg, although shapely and gorgeous, is the least of her worries.

    • jc126 says:

I agree. I don’t think she pays much attention, she does have her hands full, and I just doubt she spends her time online looking for mentions of herself.

I still think the leg pose was a private joke she had going with someone, or a dare or some such.

      • paperjam says:

I thought at the time that while Angelina was getting dressed, the Empress Z said, “and you should put your hand on your hip, and you should stick your leg out,” and her mom said, “like this?” Z gave an emphatic yes, and Angie went with it.

  8. lynn says:

I call bull on this fake interview. When and where did she speak to the huffington post?

    • Toot says:

I agree about this “interview”. One question and just about the leg? Yeah right.

I think HP made that “interview” up.

  9. Rita says:

If you look really close at the way the dress hangs from her left hip and the way she’s standing on her dress it’s very clear that’s not her leg. There’s someone else underneath there.

  10. Nakli says:

“Most people I’ve spoken with who have met her and him say they have a great sense of humor.”

Doesn’t sound like she has a sense of humor!

    • pwal says:

Hmmm… what tone should she have struck? Because in the days following ‘the pose’, the tone ranged from some seeing the pose as her having fun to her ‘stealing’ the moment from the screenplay nominees to something equivalent to someone walking in on Santa Claus doggy-styling their granmama.

Her non-reaction to the furor, or the villagers wanting to burn her at the stake, seems sound to me, especially if she really was being playful.

      • Nakli says:

@pwal, what I meant was kill a joke with a joke instead of being defensive. On the other, it’s fine if she didn’t want to laugh it off, but there wasn’t a need to claim that she keeps no tab of what’s being written about her. Not when such a big deal was made out of this one.

    • anonymoose says:

Yes, Nakli! That is what I was thinking.

Jolie comes off as awkward and self-conscious and takes-herself-too-seriously no matter what she does; even if she allegedly has a sense of humor, comedy is not her thing.

Jim Rash, though? I want him at my next dinner party! or as companion to do a few errands with. or anywhere in my life he’d like to inhabit is fine with me b/c he’s intelligently hilarious. let’s have cocktails!

  11. gennline says:

Kaiser you say you are Team Jolie, then proceed to tell the biggest lie.
That she arranged a series of photo ops.
Her charity appearances were obviously planned before the Oscars.
Or are you saying that Tina Brown, the Hyatt Regency people& MIR quickly got together after the Oscars to arrange something so A.J could arrange the so called photo ops.Maybe she is just living her life and going about it as she sees fit.She said many years ago that friends tell them who talks s*hit about them but that does not mean she has to respond or think about it.The context of the Huffpo interview is not explained nor does it say who it is by.
Maybe she was in a position where she had no choice but to answer.
She has been vilified practically on a daily basis for the past seven years and more,as she has said in the past it is never going to stop.
So why should she care.If she cared about all the naysayers, she would never lift her head off the pillow.
She has worn dressess with much higher slits that were all over the web,so she probably knows that this is just more exaggerated nonsense.
You have the choice not to believe her but a blatant lie is not the way to go.

    • jano1981 says:

He didn’t mean that she planned those things as photo ops but she made sure we were seeing and knowing about it.

      • Lee says:

I might buy that if we didn’t already hear and see all of AJs comings and goings on a daily basis anyways. I think a lot of people tried to claim that her appearances post-oscars were a PR stunt, but I honestly didn’t see anything different about her charity events and family outings than we usually see. They’re just very public people.

  12. Cathy says:

I still think she has knobby knees.

  13. atlantapug says:

Personally, though I could care less, I think she practiced posing in that dress to specifically make her leg look less emaciated. The result???? A strange, contorted pose.

  14. valleymiss says:

I agree with those who say this is a non-issue now. It was fun for 72 hours after the Oscars, then we were done and moving on.

But…Angelina’s response is why I can never let myself let go and like her. She’s just so damn haughty and above it all. “The people I surround myself don’t talk about that kind of stuff.” Come on. I’m sure you all levitate a few inches above ground with halos over your collective heads while you talk about Bosnia. If she doesn’t ever read stuff about herself, how has her team managed to sue a few magazines who’ve printed false stories? She is the Queen of I’m Covering My Ears and I Don’t Deign to Read the Gossip of the Commoners Try Too Hard-Ville.

What’s ironic is that I liked her a lot more right after the Oscars than I ever have, because it seemed that she was playful and had a sense of humor (sticking my leg out of a dress like that repeatedly is totally something I would do to make my friends laugh!) She became relatable. But then she makes this comment and it drags the fun out of her all over again and she becomes boring and lifeless. Own it, Jolie! Own the fact that you were just having fun! What’s wrong with that?

    • Annie says:

I did previously think she might’ve been just having fun too – I thought she might be just doing an intentionally exaggerated “Hollyweird” pose to make fun of the industry. It’s a bit similar to how I’ll sometimes joke around at parties when I’ve had a few – I’ll pose like Kim Kardashian and sing rap songs cause I *know* I’m a flat assed white as whitebread looking girl and it’s 10,000 kinds of wrong.

But her comment now makes her seem very haughty and cold. It does sound like she was trying to be sexy for real with “the leg” and is pissed off that the “plebs” didn’t fall for it. She tries so hard to convince everyone that she’s above reading common gossip or worrying about her image. It’s off-putting.

      • laura says:

trying to be sexy? angie was sexy and fierce²²²²per jim R. extremely hot
and yes you can avoid gossip easily , you think the world revolves around celebrities sites ?
What others say about you has no weight in who you are

      • Sakyiwaa says:

Okay, Annie. It’s easy to avoid gossip sites. I’ve tried it… It works. It’s all about ‘will’. Of course, i keep coming back from time to time when things interest me.

If you can turn a computer on, you can turn it off too. Angie can and probably really does ignore all the gossip.

And well, she really *doesn’t* surround herself with people who gossip. I don’t either. I only do it with you guys on the Internet… it is not impossible to NOT surround yourself with gossips.

  15. mia girl says:

Well, all of us on this site talked quite a bit about the leg. So based on this recent quote I think it’s safe to say that she would not “surround herself” with any of us.

She should have joked or not answered this question at all. Kaiser is right, she struck the wrong tone. Too bad, bc I like to think that she did laugh it off when it happened. Maybe not.

    • Emma says:

She did laugh it off, right in the heat of it and acted great.

She pulled off an even more exaggerated pose while Jim Rath was copying her.

According to Busy Phillips “There was a flicker (as she thought “is this bald dude mocking me?”) and then she went full out”

  16. Bite me says:

Jim rash was one of the writes for the Clooney movie… After the Oscars the Pitt and Clooney and 50 other people had a private dinner, I was if Jim rash was one of those people… Anyway when I first saw the pose I thought it was awkward … The pure joy that some people took out Jim mocking her was something else… It was quite intereting

  17. Dap says:

Could she sound more full of herself than in this quote?

  18. Hautie says:

This is still my favorite take on the “leg”.

    http://tmblr.co/ZzBMYyH9M

  19. Rhea says:

For me it’s more weird that she’s giving a word about this only to HP…. and just about this too… without other parts of interview or quote, and when do they get this quote?

    • pwal says:

HP could be showing their slip, so to speak. After all, when Angelina was promoting Blood and Honey, Tina Brown was very visible and vocal. Maybe HP got their nose out of joint, hence taking the tabloid route versus discussing the film.

And look at their regular contributors: Bonnie Fuller, Dr. Drew and others of that ilk, which is not to say that The Daily Beast and Tina Brown is pure and pristine.

  20. Jamie says:

I believe she doesn’t and didn’t care and doesn’t know what’s posted online. She’s been saying for years that she doesn’t read reviews or articles about her. I saw her ask an interviewer if she could keep a photo of her family that was posted everywhere including here. The political and charity events were all announced and scheduled before the Oscars and she could hardly have appeared there in revealing outfits regardless.

  21. maemay says:

I think at first it was mocking by the public but it turned into a funny triumph. Attention is attention good or bad. Jolie could of posted a picture of herself Jolieing and it would have been a triumph for her. Sort of like Ryan Gosling and the Hey Girl meme.

    • pwal says:

No… I don’t think her ‘Jolieing’ would’ve been effective at all. This moment, to me, was similar to when she jumped into the pool after she won an award (Golden Globes, maybe?) That was a singular moment, just like the leg pose was.

  22. grabbyhands says:

Translations: I realized people were laughing at me, so even though I should have just let it drop since most people have forgotten about it, I needed people to know how much I’m not thinking about. By which I mean I’ve been thinking about it.

For the record, I’m not Team anyone. She should have laughed this one off and moved on.

    • laura says:

    • anonymoose says:

      @grabbyhands:

      ‘xactly!

    • pamela says:

She DID laugh it off. Read the entire interview, not just waht HP posted with their not so hidden agenda.

  23. Toot says:

This quote from Huffington sounds fake as hell. Where is the interview that it was taken from? I know I’ll just be called loonie, but I don’t believe it. That stuff about she doesn’t watch those shows was said in her 60 minute interview.

I know it’s too much to ask when Angelina can be criticized instead, but just stop and think.

  24. Original Lucy says:

My hubby and I were watching The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo last night and thought that Mara Rooney did a fantastic job. I said to my hubby “who beat her out for the Oscar”…he couldn’t remember, my son couldn’t remember, even though we all watched the Oscars…but “the leg” we remember! Good or bad, the most vivid memory of this past Oscar ceremony was “the leg”…no press is bad press, so they say! and I feel pretty sure that after seeing the horror and poverty that Angelina has seen on her many UN trips, she would not be up nights worrying about people talking about “leg gate”!

    • alw says:

i agree with you Original Lucy, who won the oscars that night.Angelina stated in a interview years ago that her first UN trip she saw a Sea of human misery.Anderson Cooper asked her was she afraid going to those dangerous countries, she replied, isnt Hollywood dangerous?

    • almond says:

we only remember about the leg because blogs and press can´t stop talking about it

  25. shannon says:

Most ridiculous “controversy” ever. I think her quote was great, and very restrained. If I was her, the quote would have been more like, “Are you effing kidding me? How is this even a thing?”

    • Lmao says:

Exactly. It’s amazing how her posing silly took over the whole show and then people expect her to follow the thousands or memes and jokes online? The memes and jokes got boring the same day they started.

    • The Original Mia says:

Ha! I wish she would have said that. Most ridiculous thing ever, totally perpetuated by the gossip blogs making more of it than it warranted.

  26. cupidityrox says:

Personally i think she was gearing up for her role as “Maleficent”.. Perfect casting as she seems to embody that character in her everyday life.. @ least so says the media

  27. Saor says:

    I will never understand this.

  28. Nikki says:

She wasn’t upset by jim rash Busy Philips told Access Hollywood that she laughed and did it again but she was off camera. Brad was backstage waiting on her with Brian Grazer. As for the sound bite it was probably at the Women in the World Summit, they just didn’t run it until there was a lull in celeb news to increase site traffic.

  29. k says:

This would have all gone away if she had made a big self-deprecating joke or youtube video about it.

    • Sakyiwaa says:

      are u effin’ kidding?

That would not dull the controversy… This is Angelina Jolie we are talking about… anything she says or does HAS BEEN,HAS and WILL forever be used AGAINST her in gargantuan proportions of over-analysis, banal commentary and in complete and utterly equivocatory terms.

and pls, Angie is not a TWEETER or YOUTUBER. She simply doesn’t do that…
Hence, your idea on how to fix this is simply a ‘pipe dream’…
Why should she fit your mold for her?

  30. Lmao says:

I think she said the truth. The very next day she was out and about minding her bussiness while the Internet was blowing up over her leg and weight. If she doesn’t live online it would be easy to ignore.

I’m pretty sure the goal of most of the people here was to hurt her in some way. Been trying to do it for years already. No matter what she says it’s twisted to fit whatever agenda you have ATM. Her one leg really made people go crazy but what’s new you people go crazy over everything she does. She didn’t cry over your attacks so better luck next time because we all know there will be a next time.

    • gennline says:

That is why people are upset because they hoped that the reaction would hurt her in some way.But as she has been wearing gowns with slits on the red carpet since way back when, why should she all of sudden care about an over reaction to one particular dress. Also as soon as she responds to the media in any way she will be accused of manipulation. That is the way the press works. When a few years ago pictures to commerate her mothers death was put on You Tube, she was accussed of using that to deflect from one of the many crimes the media constantly accuse her of.I hope she continues to live her life in her own way, posing as and when she wants and never responding unless she wants to.

  31. Jaxx says:

She has continually said that she doesn’t pay attention to the tabloid stories about her or her family. I believe her because there are so many vicious lies written that if she really did pay attention she would go insane.

As for lawsuits, she may not pay attention but I bet she has people in her employ that alert her if something truly damaging is said. She did weigh in on the Shiloh clothing issue as things about her kids probably ring that bell.

I love her dearly myself and even with that I think she made a fool of herself that night. I have no idea what she was thinking but I agree with her that the less said the better. Just let it die.

    • alw says:

Yes Jaxx,Brad stated in one of his interviews that they dont read what is written, but they have people who do, it was also written they have brass knuckle lawyers. i believe these two will evently suit someone here in the usa,and they should, this has been going on for 7-8 years. i have read the most foul language about these two written by adults and you thinks she care people are laughing about her quote, unquote skinny leg.

    • sup says:

i think she was intoxicated that night. she was laughing a lot, having fun for the first time in a long while, letting her guard down.

  32. samira677 says:

If I recall Brad and Angelina sue when it hits mainstream news. It’s one thing if the National Enquire spread lies about you but it’s a different story when CNN and CBS says it in their news not entertainment segments. No matter what Angelina says or does she gets attacked, eventhough I question this quote. How I don’t pay attention to gossip gets turned into I’m perfect and better than everybody is baffling.

  33. Jane says:

I read elsewhere the reason for the leg posing was her humorous take on Stacey Keibler’s legs, George Clooney’s girlfriend. Stacey is know for her long, long beautiful legs and, supposedly, Angie had heard a lot about those legs from Brad and George.

I tend to think that was the reason for the blatant leg posing, except Angie’s legs and arms are so scrawny, it probably would have been better if she had not done it. Maybe that is why she really wants to move on from the subject. An inside joke that she didn’t care to explain and didn’t do her any favors as far as looking hot.

    • Wendi says:

You think AJ used her time onstage at the Oscars to mock a Z-list wrestler with great legs? Now that truly WOULD be pathetic.

      • Jane says:

I could see her doing it as a joke. I don’t think that is any weirder than doing it just be show her legs, or strike a pose, especially since it was done very conspicuously, clearly intended for people to notice her posing with her leg stuck out.

      • sup says:

it was so obviously not a joke, not tongue-in-cheek, people are in denial.

  34. Luise says:

Angie needs to never wear a dress with a slit again. She’s got the worst looking legs ever. They are boney with insufficient calf muscles almost like she was inflicted with polio. Hide them.

  35. mln76 says:

The meme was funny but it got nasty and mean-spirited by those who are obsessed with hating on Angie. I don’t see what the big deal was with her quote or Jim Rash’s quote. I can understand why people would talk about Angie’s weird behavior when she was young but I don’t get why people are still talking about this non-story ages later.

    • blonde on the dock says:

Non story? She made a fool of herself. Unfortunately for her “the leg” will stick around for awhile. I felt embarrassed for her.

  36. LadyJane says:

Yes, I find it puzzling when people call her (Angie’s) leg gorgeous and shapely. Huh?

  37. Ell says:

    She needs to lighten up.

  38. UniqJazz says:

I hate when famous people or not so famous people say something about one another and then apologize for it or say i didn’t mean it in that way. like have a back bone. Everyone is already kissing these celebrities butts. Why do you have to be another one. If your going to say something or do something, mean it!

    • sup says:

i hate the ass kissing too. nobody is genuine in hollywood. he could have just said “oh i was having a fun moment, it’s not much to talk about really” but like all kiss-asses they go on about how it was a loving tribute and stuff. really. and i agree with kaiser; i think angelina sounds very passive-aggressive and hurt. i liked her and stuff but the leg thing was dumb. it wasn’t “omg evil the worst thing in the world”, but yeah, when you act all holy and mighty and cool for a long time, you might want to take off the mask for but a moment, and the whole world will be shocked and laughing. i hope she’s learned a lesson in always being just herself. but she’s hollywood, so i kinda doubt it.

  39. original sandy says:

she’s so pretty, LOL sorry, i laughed then and will laugh now, every time i see that pose? it’s funny, i think she has a good sense of humour, maybe she was more surprised? that it took on a life of it’s own, so decided to make light of the situation, she should know how powerful she is, anything she does will blow up.

  40. Peachy says:

She totally deserves the Oscar for Leg, Interrupted.

  41. olivia says:

I hope this will draw her attention:

    • blah says:

So glad that article was written. LegGate was hysterical but THAT’S what people should be focussing on- recognizing celebrity philanthropy for what it is- first and foremost to assist their PR. Pitt is such a sleaze bag, conveniently growing a social conscience to avoid being demonized by the media when he left Maniston.

It’s debatable whether Maniston and Skeletina deserve the flak they get from the media, but I don’t know why douchebag Pitt seems to get a free pass when he’s the worst offender of the three. Even if Skeletina did steal him from Maniston, she’s the mother of his kids and he doesn’t do enough to defend her from attacks.

  42. Hubbahun says:

What bollocks. She’s a famewhore just like the rest of them.

  43. lileneboheme says:

    She DEFINITELY cared…lol how embarrassing

  44. Hootysgram says:

Really? It was so obviously a ploy for attention…since she manages to stick her leg out of every slit dress she’s ever worn…like we are enthralled with her boney legs. She looks like a skeleton from the neck down…and don’t let anyone tell you she isn’t all about HERSELF. I’m so over this bitch!

    • sup says:

you sound a bit harsh, but co-sign anyways, i am also over her. everytime i realized some of my fav celebs were nothing more than overrated polished idiots, i felt like i was cheated. it’s our fault that we bought the image in the first place. this is how they sell us things. stuff she does for the world is still amazing, while i still admire that, so many people including those i dislike also do great amounts of charity. no reason to be a personal fan because of it. by the way that last picture especially makes me sorry for her. you can tell that she thinks she looks like hot shit when she really has a pale chicken leg and a prematurely aged face because she starved herself so much. even guys think she’s too skinny now-and guys rarely say that! you know you got way too skinny when it’s a man, and not a woman who tells you to eat a sammich! she was so beautiful around the tomb raider era and everybody admired her looks. -sigh-

    • Shamozzle says:

      Word. Hootysgram 😉

  45. Shamozzle says:

That b!tch knew exactly what she was doing. Anything to get the attention back on to herself.

She loves the press, she loves pretending she doesnt care when I bet any money she incessantly googles herself. B!tch is a game player.

    • sup says:

at this point, i can totally believe that nanny’s story (the one who said that angelina is obsessed about online blogs and always reads what people say about her). i don’t even know why i ever believed otherwise! truth be told i’m not sure if i would be all ‘above that’ myself if i were famous 😉

      • Rhea says:

But I wouldn’t want to kill myself reading so many rude words about me and my family if I ever in her position, so yes I would let someone read for me and bring to attention if it’s something real damaging.

Otherwise, no I would not pay attention to what nasty words strangers write down about me and my family on the media.

She’s in the business for a long time already and should know better not to always care about the gossip people write down about her. Why she needs to googles herself a lot when there are so many bad gossips about her? Also if she does obsessed with her image and what people say about her, how come she doesn’t try to dress up Shiloh in girly dress since she got criticized a lot for that.
Something just doesn’t add up with your “Angie is obsessed with online blog and what people say about her”

And please, if the real nanny ever speak up don’t you think the Jolie-Pitt lawyer would be having a fiesta on the nanny already??

      • sup says:

@Rhea somebody close to me is a lawyer so I began to understand a couple of little things about their legal procedures. angie and brad obviously have big balls lawyers but even they would advise not to sue the nanny because she didn’t really make any derogatory claims. she just said lame things like “angie is obsessed with her image, works out up to 2 hours a day, reads blogs written about her”, etc. i don’t assume their lawyers would want to take up on that case. and since there are no derogatory claims, if they did sue, the only case they could have would be violation of privacy or something similar to that, meaning they would be justifying that her statements were true about them while of a private nature, and they wouldn’t want to make it look like they are confirming what she said. furthermore, i’m not sure how this works in the u.s. but in the european country i live in, the judge might not accept some cases, such as ones where the subject is too light, there isn’t sufficient evidence on either side and so on. in which case there wouldn’t be a lawsuit and it’d be a big waste of time… plus, it could make it look like they would be justifying the nanny’s claims if they sued but now, it looks as if she’s just a bitter former employee who wants to make some cash whilst ruining her career as a high paid nanny. and also, maybe they aren’t suing because she is actually telling the truth… and there isn’t much they can do about that.

      • Rhea says:

@sup : did the magazines gave the name of the nanny as a credible source? I don’t remember they ever mentioning the nanny’s name. So it could be also a bogus story, a fake nanny, which is why they decided to ignore it instead of wasting the time and the money to sue every bogus story like you said. It’s true that they would only sue the important matter for them. It depends on us as the people to believe a source without a name to check or not. 😉

      • sup says:

@Rhea they didn’t print her name? I thought they did, then again it’s been a really long time and I can’t really confide in my memory for names so I’ll take your word for it.

      • Rhea says:

My memory usually good ( but I am suck at doing a complicated maths).
        😉

But if you do find the nanny’s name please correct me then. Anyway here is her full interview. It seems that HP embellish the quote.

  46. Delouise says:

I am so annoyed her face popping up everywhere I go. Why is she in the news all the time – what has she ever done to reward this level of attention. I don’t know how this PR fame whoring works but certainly not on me since I never watched any movie she is in. I once watched an interview with her and to me she is clearly nuts.

  47. Iraqi Dinar says:

I truly wanted to post a brief comment to appreciate you for some of the remarkable ways that you are giving out on this web site. My long internet appear up has at the end of the day been recognized with reliable information to speak about with my companions. I ‘d declare that most of us visitors are undeniably fortunate to live in a great spot with very several awesome professionals with excellent techniques. I feel quite a lot blessed to have encountered your entire web pages and look forward to some more fun times reading here. Thanks once once more for all of the details.

  48. mymy says:

Some people have the same sense of humor or lack of it as Jolie. This was some funny stuff. And when you want a certain image and your faced with the reality in print that you are unable to control what is printed. I doubt you allow people to believe you have read anything that is contrary to what you try so hard to project and portray. They would have to admit they are less than perfect at the PR game. Trust me. She is aware of everything pertaining to her.

  49. lucy2 says:

Funny how celebs “never pay attention” to that stuff when it’s negative or making fun.

    • pamela says:

Angie has been saying for years that she doesn’t read or pay attention to what is said about her in the rags and online. So has Brad. This is why neither has a personal PR person.

  50. kristipistol says:

I don’t buy it. It was like she thrust it out – obviously, not subconsciously.

  51. mame says:

HP embellish the quote. The real interview.
    http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/03/26/angelina-jolie-leg-maleficent/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

And of course, she reacts to all the commotion surrounding her infamous leg-pop at the Academy Awards.

“It’s interesting that you just really never know …” Jolie says.

This is her response to the response to her leggy pose at the Oscars, which became a viral phenomenon, inspiring various websites, a Twitter account, and countless imitators (both ironic and sincere.)

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Wow, so you caused quite a stir at the Oscars. That’s usually a pretty stuffy affair, but you definitely widened people’s eyes.
ANGELINA JOLIE: [Laughs.] I don’t pay any attention to that stuff. I just heard something as simple as that and thought, well, I don’t know. I do what I feel like doing, but don’t actually consider the effect. I just try to, you know, be as I feel like being on a night like that.

There are whole websites that popped up where people were striking your pose. That must have caught you by surprise.
What’s funny is when you have no actual, conscious thought of anything [like that]. You just feel like, ‘eh, I like this dress. I feel comfortable in this one.’ It’s interesting that you just really never know …

You pulled it off much better than Jim Rash [pictured, the best adapted screenplay winner who struck her provocative pose onstage after shepresented him the Oscar.] Did you find what he did funny?
Of course! [Laughs.] No, I had a great night. It was a really fun night.

  52. lisa says:

As always the quote was taken out of context.

here is the entire interview. but I’m sure the people that made such negative comments never questioned that the quote was obviously lifted. And note that HP never gave a link to the ENTIRE INTERVIEW

    http://insidemovies.ew.com/

    • pamela says:

It would have been so easy for this blog to do what you did and research the source of the quote. But then they wouldn’t get the numerous attacks against Angie that they did get.

  53. Anon says:

I don’t remember AJ ever speaking to HP. In fact, HP goes out of their way to attack Jolie. Something stinks about this, as in I don’t believe a word HP puts out anymore, too bad they used to be something before they became just another lying tabloid. AH sold her soul out to bitterness, fame and greed. Is AH part of some Goddess Circle?

  54. Paige says:

I guess some of you were expecting her to go cry somewhere in a corner. This woman has a busy life I highly doubt she has time to read everything said about her. That is for people that don’t have any lives. This is the woman that wore a blood vial people never let that go and the haters still love bringing it up everyday so I believe she can get over a leg pose that was blown completely out of proportion and made 10x bigger than it actually was. How did you want her response to? I broke down crying becuz I care so much about what the world and faceless people think about me on the internet. If Angelina cried over the leg she should be crying everyday from the made up lies from tabs and people on the internet that act like they live daily in the Jolie-Pitt household. How is what she said arrogant Whatever she says some people will always find a problem with. Angelina Jolie is suppose to please her fans and her loved ones not the people that hate on everything from her clothing to her innocent children.

    • Rhea says:

True. If she’s laughing at this whole drama people would also just think that she’s just trying to save her face from this.

  55. Lisa says:

It’s a LEG! Did I travel back in time to 1886 when showing your ankle was titillating?

  56. cameron says:

    update:
As JP’s fans guessed it the huffpost blurb was a cut/paste job from Entertainment Weeklyinterview that Angie did recently to promote the DVD release of ITLOBAH.

As part of the interview, she was asked about the leg pose at the oscars.

It was so obvious since there was no topic behind it, no quotation around her comment, the JP’s only interview if they are promoting a Movie or event. Angie would not out the blue or almost a month later address something so trivial. That’s not her MO.

    Lastly, the HUFFPOST? really?

  57. Francesca says:

She loves to make a sceen when people are watching, especially at the Oscars – recall, kissing her brother like a lover? She is a hambone of the highest order; who could think differently? She just looks like a bag of bones to me; her face is extraordinary, her body is just fine/ok in a very skinny kinda way. I am sure she doesn’t work out. Not that it matters.

  58. anne says:

Jolie always does charity work. That’s not her playing something off, that’s her regular thing.

  59. janie bird says:

DAHUMM! She is SKINNNY!. She was not wearing the dress… The dress was wearing her. The leg was just trying to get free, saying “I’M soooo HUUUNGRY, HEEEELP ME, CAN ANYBODY SEEEEE MEEEE?!

  60. Runs with Scissors says:

“If I make a fool of myself, who cares? I’m not frightened by anyone’s perception of me.”

    Angelina Jolie

She honestly doesn’t care. She has better things to worry about for god’s sake.

What I find entertaining is that the woman sticks her leg out and people’s heads explode. Now that’s power.

  61. Sakyiwaa says:

I’m PERSONALLY glad Angie herself is NOT gonna be sitting behind her computer reading this stuff…

Hence, saying ‘Hi” to Angie’s lawyers! HI!!!!

  62. I feel that is among the such a lot significant information for me. And i’m satisfied studying your article. But wanna observation on some common issues, The web site style is ideal, the articles is truly great : D. Just right job, cheers
