Naomi Campbell’s fiancé, Vladimir Doronin, is a married man. He’s been married to a woman named Ekaterina for 24 years, although there is lots of evidence to suggest that Vlad and Ekaterina have been separated for more than a decade. The only thing standing in the way of their divorce, I’m assuming, is religion and money. As in Doronin doesn’t want to shell out half of his multi-billion-dollar fortune to his wife, and Ekaterina hates the idea of divorce (or so it’s said). This has left Naomi in a weird position for years: she gets to be Doronin’s official girlfriend, she moved to Moscow to be closer to him, they vacation together and they walk the red carpet together, but at the end of the day, Doronin still spends the holidays with his wife and their daughter. Add to the crazy mix the fact that Naomi claims she and Vlad are “engaged” – and she even has an enormous ring to show for it. So… it’s sketchy. But now The Mail claims Ekaterina will finally file for divorce! But Ekaterina is going to cite Naomi as “the other woman”.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is to be dragged into her billionaire boyfriend’s messy divorce case. Vladimir Doronin’s estranged wife Ekaterina is planning to cite his relationship with Naomi, 41, as the reason for the end of her marriage.
Naomi might be one step closer to marrying the Russian, but sources close to the couple say she is devastated because Vladimir and Ekaterina had been separated for ten years before she started dating him in 2008. He had a seven year long relationship with another woman before he met Naomi.
‘Naomi is pleased that Ekaterina has finally agreed to give Vladimir a divorce, but she is upset she is planning on blaming her for the marriage breakdown. She is no homewrecker,’ says a friend. ‘The truth is that Vladimir had been separated from her for a very long time when he and Naomi got together.’
Ekaterina has been married to 49-year-old property mogul Vladimir for 24 years and they have a daughter, Katia, 15. His wife is believed to want a substantial slice of his huge fortune.
Ekaterina has said of her husband’s romance: ‘It’s a ridiculous affair. Vladimir is married to me and we are still a couple. Naomi is deluding herself if she thinks she can take my husband.’
Naomi, who is the face of Vladimir’s property company, started dating the tycoon – dubbed the Russian Donald Trump – after meeting him at the Cannes Film Festival.
‘Vladimir and Naomi are very much in love and are happy together,’ says a friend. ‘But this is going to cause them both a fair amount of stress. It’s ridiculous that Naomi is being dragged into this.’
Naomi has left the UK to set up home with Vladimir in Moscow and is said to be taking lessons in Russian. He gave her Van Cleef black earrings two years ago, but has yet to propose. A spokesman for Naomi last night declined to comment.

I might feel a little bit sorry for Naomi… if she wasn’t such a nasty piece of work. As it is, I’m wallowing in schadenfreude because I always thought Naomi was being played. I’m not even sure I believe that Ekaterina will end up divorcing Vladimir. She’ll drag this out for years… and Naomi will either have to wait it out, or she’ll just end up leaving. Some say that Naomi doesn’t even care about getting the ring – but I disagree. She’s in Moscow, acting like she already got the prize. She wants to marry him. So I suspect she’ll just wait it out.

Haha, I’d be surprised if the wife really gets that much. I seriously doubt that religion is important in this case. Oligarchs used to kick wives out without a single penny in the pocket a decade ago. Children still stay with oligarchs if they are interested. There’s almost nothing a wife can do in such cases. I’d be suprised if things’ve changed. Saw Doronin on some Russian channel – a nasty piece of work.

Barring some fringe groups that have risen in the last 15 or so years religion is a non-issue in Russia when it comes to marriage.
The only way to get legally married here is eloping and any church ceremony performed has no legal significance whatsoever.
And Vladimir and his wife were born and got married in atheist USSR.

i know naomi is supposed to be kind of crazy and entitled, but i can’t believe that she hooked up with a skeezeball like this and ended up in such a crazy situation. ugh.

Huh? He’s with Uma Thurman now, they’re about to have a baby. It’s probably safe to say that since he was with in a long term relationship and had kids with Elle in her 30s and is now dating a divorced mother of 2 in her 40s, he’s not exactly into the 20-year-olds.
If I were his wife I would never divorce him just to spite Naomi. She will forever be the GF, but never the wife. If he really wanted to divorce his wife and married Naomi he would have done just that years ago. He has a lot of money; seriously do you think a man in his position would let anything or anyone stand in the way of what he wants? She deserves it, too bad it isn’t true. My old boss saw them in St Barths on Christmas a few years ago. Maybe he spends the Russian Orthodox Christmas with his family but he was with Naomi for the 25th — at least once!

She is blaming Naomi for their divorce when they had been separated for many years and he shacked up with someone else before meeting Naomi, ok sure luv. It’s clear he didn’t want his wife and she was the one holding off signing the divorce papers, so what is a man to do, why she hating, if it wasn’t Naomi it would have been someone else. Face it, the dude fall out of love with you, you’ve had this many years to come to terms with it. Sheesh!
Let’s not forget this is Russia. The reason this Ekaterina woman filed the divorce the way she did is because if she filed with the Russian equivalent of “irreconcilable differences (which really doesn’t exist in Russia)” she would not be entitled to much. This isn’t the U.S. where most states split the property and income. She would be entitled to some support for X amount of years. I’m sure because this guy just wants the bloody divorce he would be rather generous but he doesn’t have to be and she would be entitled to the bare minimum (which in her case might not be too bad) which would cause her to lose the lifestyle she had while married to him. Especially since their daughter is almost of age. If the children are of age that means she would get almost nothing. That’s why you see a lot of middle age men ditch their wives after the children are out of the house. With blaming his affair she is entitled to about 25%-50% of his estate. She’s probably fighting because she knows she could potentially lose everything and lose the life she’s been living. Divorce laws in Russia suck. Many women have been in her situation and end up going from rich to literally a shack and paupery. This woman is scared the same could happen to her.
Why isn’t the wife naming the other woman he was with for seven years before Naomi? She is using Naomi for her celebrity and to get attention but the sad reality is that her husband has been living a separate life for over a decade and now she’s over it?
Strange, why now? Maybe the wife wanted to wait until her daughter was grown up? At 16 the girl isn’t a child anymore and will probably be headed off to university soon. Lots of people do that (although they typically don’t have their spouse’s affair splashed all over the international press).

Uh she’s going to have to wait it out, I mean what else does she have going for her? She’s not exactly Kate Moss is she? Sure she might have had that power before she moved to Moscow but since she moved there she hasn’t been modeling anything that I’m aware of. It will be hard for her to break back in again, especially at her age(and with her bitch attitude). If she doen’t cling, she’ll really be screwed.
