Last Friday, I was surprised by how many people wanted to discuss Alec Baldwin and his anger management issues and his 28-year-old girlfriend (“28”), Hilaria Thomas. The Enquirer had a story about Alec and Hilaria going through a rough patch because she’s all yoga and Zen and peace and tranquility, and Alex is all “I’M GOING TO EAT YOUR FACE. And punch you in the nads.” Well, just days after that report, Alec would like us all to know that his 28-year-old (!) girlfriend is going to be his WIFE, thank you very much. Now, I love Alec on screen (I’m an unapologetic 30 Rock addict), but I’ve got to wonder if poor Hilaria knows what she’s in for:
She said yes! Alec Baldwin got engaged to Hilaria Thomas over the weekend, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.
“Yes, it’s true! Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we’re all excited for the newly engaged couple,” the rep says. “Alec’s birthday is tomorrow – great way to celebrate!”
The 30 Rock star, 53, began dating Thomas, a yoga instructor, last summer.
“I’ve got a woman in my life now,” the actor said of 28-year-old Thomas. “My girlfriend is very important to me.”
Baldwin was previously married to actress Kim Basinger, with whom he has a 16-year-old daughter, Ireland.
As for the age difference… ugh. She’s nearly half his age. Sort of. If you believe that she’s “28”. Which… sure. For argument’s sake, let’s go with that. She’s 28 and this will probably be her first marriage and his second. I’m guessing they’ll have a kid at some point. And I’m guessing that much like Alec’s first marriage, this one will end up a steaming pile of bitter, angry HOT MESS. I mean, congratulations to the happy couple! Mazel tov.

It’s bad enough imagining what it’s like for a woman in her 20s being with a guy in his 50s…but when you fast forward and picture her 30s to his 60s, 40s to his 70s, it becomes gross. She’s a golddigger..a yoga instructor who landed a famous multimillionaire..he’s a delusional fool who thinks a goofy new bangy do will distract people from his aging visage.
Want help picturing her in her 40s and him in his seventies? Picture him with a new 28 year old and her with a huge divorce settlement and a young child.
Whatever, she knows what she’s getting into. Good for them, I guess.

People are so silly on here saying her age is fake. I have a friend who always looked older and my sister the same. Someone would call her out if she was lying.
Kim Basinger is NOT a nutcase: she has a diagnosed mental/psychiatric disorder that consists of being terrified of leaving her own home. (Google it.)

The man looks way better than he did last year. How much weight did he lose? Also, some discreet plastic surgery has happened. And she doesn’t look 28 at all. Closer to 38. If she is 28, she is not aging well.

Umm she definitely looks 28 to me. I think the older ladies on here are being too harsh saying she looks old. I’m 24 and she looks totally 28-30 but I completely believe 28. And her age is actually embarrassing because HE is so old so she has no reason to lie…

I am 23 and to me she is 40-ish, and no way in her twenties, or if she is it’s in some parallel and awkward universe she doesn’t even look in her thirties (at least not under 38).
I don’t know what kind of 28 yrs old you are used to but this is not 28(younger than mila kunis or jessica biel…)
just to make a comparison, all the following celebrities are in there early to mid-thirties: michelle wiliams, oliva wilde, natalie portman, rachel mc adams, Diane Krueger, etc… and she looks wayyyy older than all these ladies… so let alone comparing her with some who are late twenties…

I also believe that she could be very well be 28. As someone who’s always looked older than they really are, I find all the attacks against her depressing.
I really don’t know how one manages a relationship in which two people are in such totally different phases of life. I get wanting a young hardbody, but what the hell do you talk about when you aren’t sexin’? I mean, I have friends of all ages, but I know that I could not be in relationships with them because our frames of reference and what we would want out of life are so different.

I feel sorry for Alec because I think he is really in love with her. She reminds me of Kelsey Grammer’s brand new young wife. Pretty young thing that was lucky enough to catch an unhappy rich old man. She’ll get pregnant right away to guarantee monthly payments for the next 18 years. Look at her body language, she is never turned into him.

Awwww. I’m a sucker for Aries dudes, lot of swagger and shouting but also really passionate, loyal (in their own sluttacious way) and loving. I think ole Alec is kind of a gem in showbiz, freakishly versatile and an interesting mix of arrogant and ego-less. Plus he’s very, very smart. I wish them both luck…never seen Hilarious fame-whoring and no one can accuse this dude of being a serial womanizer. Maybe a misanthrope…but whatever cheers to them!
