Emily Blunt in pink lace Michael Kors: did Emma Watson already do this look?

I was surprised that yesterday’s post about the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of 5 Year Engagement didn’t get more love – there were good photos in that post! I was going to lead with Emily Blunt’s lovely black-and-green dress, but I punted on it at the last minute. So here’s your Emily Blunt-centric post of the week! These are new pics of Blunt at last night’s Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Your Sister’s Sister. Once again, Emily looks great. She’s been looking so wonderful lately, I have to wonder if she got a new stylist…? Remember how Blunt used to be styled? It was always kind of awful. She made horrible color choices, her makeup would often look garish and clown-ish and all too often, her clothes weren’t tailored. But these days, Emily is so much more polished.

This lace dress is by Michael Kors – it‘s beautiful. I wonder if the dress needs that belt, though. That specific belt… eh. If you were hellbent on wearing a belt, maybe coordinate it so it doesn’t seem like you put the belt on as an afterthought? But it’s a small thing – overall, I look this on Emily. Love her hair and makeup too. It took me a full ten minutes to realize what this dress reminded me of – from the waist up, it looks very much like a Valentino mini-dress that Emma Watson wore last year:

Don’t even yell at me and say that they are completely different dresses. I KNOW. But the pink lace, the nearly identical cut at the neckline, the long sleeves… they are similar. Which is on Michael Kors, not Emily Blunt.

well, the lace dress is a big trend right now, so i think there are only so many ways to design a non-dowdy version of it.

emily looks fantastic in this dress! emma, meh, not so much.

  3. mia girl says:

Emily trumps Emma. May be similar from the waist up, but Emily looks much better from the waist down.

  4. Know-It-All says:

The belt was part of the runway styling so that’s on Kors, too—just like you mentioned the neckline and long sleeves are on him.

Emma looks amazing! Emily..well, it’s okay. Not her color.

  6. angel says:

she is definitely looking fantastic. I love the styling on this with the brown leather and the lace. I loved the green color from yesterday’s pic on her so much though.

  7. Franny says:

She looks amazing. I like the first picture with her shadow – she has a great profile.

I’m slightly unsure about the length of the dress, but its not crazy like Olivia Munn’s yesterday so whatever.

  8. debunker says:

I hate to sound mean but Emily Blunt seems past her prime. Either she’s done something to her face or isn’t aging gracefully.
Hard to believe she’s in her twenties.

  9. lucy2 says:

Not a big fan of lace, but I like Emily’s better.

  10. benny says:

Emily dresses like a beautiful woman. Emma dresses like an ice skater.

    (They’re both very pretty though).

So… now people can’t even wear somewhat similar dresses to completely different events? Sheeeesh…

  12. Amy says:

I am not a fan of this look, and I don’t think the belt/shoes really go with the dress.

(I’m pretty sure you can see at least one of Emma Watson’s nipples through her dress.)

  13. bagladey says:

Emily looks better – she looks great.

  14. mememe says:

The dress is great the hair is weird.

Emma’s dress is appropriate for her age. The dress looks good on her. And for the record, Emma Watson is a hell lot prettier than Emily. She’s naturally beautiful. Have you seen Emily Blunt without make-up?Hah!
