Jessica Simpson wants to wear a leopard-print caftan when she gives birth

Over the weekend, there were some rumors that Jessica Simpson had finally given birth to her baby daughter, little Maxi/Margarita Tequila Johnson. Unfortunately for all, it didn’t happen. Jessica Simpson is still pregnant. This actually seems like it’s part of the new schedule – Jessica was just so big, and everyone thought she would be giving birth at any moment… two months ago. But Jessica was telling people that she had one more month to go back in late March. My instinct says it’s going to happen this week. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But Thursday? Sure. Friday – could be. In the meantime, Jessica has taken to Twitter to assure everyone that The Great Flood (Of Amniotic Fluid) is not upon us quite yet. Also: she wants to give birth in a leopard caftan.

Keep saving those congratulations! Jessica Simpson hasn’t given birth yet. The first-time mom-to-be is still awaiting the birth of her baby girl, and while she waits she’s making sure she’ll look fabulous at the hospital.

“I just woke up from a dream that I wore a leopard caftan in the hospital. Fabulous!!” Simpson tweeted Tuesday. “Now I need to find one!”

The 31-year-old Fashion Star mentor and her fiance Eric Johnson are expecting their first child together and fans are very eager for the baby’s arrival.

“To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl…I’m still pregnant!!” Simpson tweeted Saturday. “Don’t believe what you read ladies and gents.”

But she’s ready to give birth too — and get back into her normal shoes!

“I can’t wait for the day I can walk in heels again!” she tweeted. “My feet feel homesick!”

[From Us Weekly]

My feelings towards Jessica have been a rollercoaster of emotion. First, I felt overwhelming sympathy for how big she had gotten. Then I was grossed out and turned off by her incessant TMI. Then I went back to feeling defensive on her behalf, because I didn’t (and still don’t) like when people attack her for her oversized pregnancy. Right now I just want it to happen for her, and soon. She must be super-uncomfortable.

Fine with me. If she wants to wear a pink tutu..go for it. whatever she wants.

  2. LeManda says:

Oh lordie, I remember those last few weeks of pregnancy. It was HELL! Hoping for Jess that baby comes out soon 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever actively pitied a pregnant woman before. It’s a weird feeling. Looking at her makes my bones ache though.

  4. Courtney says:

so what a Caftan is the most comfortable thing in that situation. as I said to her on twitter it would be cute but so would a polka dot one like Mariah Carey wore when she had her twins last year. leave the woman alone she hasn’t had an easy pregnancy due to polyhydramnios

  5. fabgrrl says:

That’s fine, but she will never wear that particular caftan again. IF will be covered in bloody, and other fluids.

  6. Nev says:

love her…..all the best, good luck!

  7. LeeLoo says:

I pity her but at the same time I don’t. What I thought was wrong was the fact she bragged about the fact she maintained a diet of fried, fatty and sugary foods or at least that’s all she ever talked about. That sort of diet cannot be healthy for a baby. However, being I have never been pregnant I cannot judge her too harshly. I do not know whether she got big due to her diet or if she just got big. It’s none of my business anyways. I can only go off what she tells the media. So I do feel sorry for her as it must be uncomfortable for her to be that huge for her tiny frame.

I hope she does whatever makes her comfortable and hopefully once she has the baby she will tone down her media appearances and telling us every tiny detail on Twitter.

    • SirSnarksalot says:

I agree completely. No one was judging her until she started going on about how unhealthy her diet was and how m uch she was enjoying going hog wild with crappy food. She invited the criticism. I feel bad for her in the sense that I think she has no idea how difficult it will be to get those extra non-baby pounds off after she gives birth. And if the rumours are true about her lining up a Jenny Craig style endorsement deal for after the kid is born, I really doubt she’s gonna shut up anytime soon…

  8. Zelda says:

For the love of God does she ever STFU?

  9. Beatrix says:

she really does wear the most god-awful things. how she is worth so much for fashion is something that will never make sense to me.

    • cmc says:

Her clothes are really not bad (the ones she sells, not the ones she wears). I’m excited about warmer weather because I get to wear my absolute favorite, super-flattering JS polka dot sundress again. I paid like $40 for it (out of season, at a super cheap store Mandees) and it’s surprisingly good quality and simple style. I seriously could not even tell you how much I love that dress.

I dunno about her other stuff, but her clothes are very good quality for the price range, and cute. She should wear her own line- probably wouldn’t look as ridiculous.

    • Snowangel says:

I love love her purses, I have about 4 of them. I get compliments all the time, and when I say they are JS people are always really surprised.

    • DesertRose says:

Same goes for her shoes. I have a few pairs of her heels and two paairs of boots and I always get compliments on them. Plus they are all very well made and not that expensive.

    • ZenB!tch says:

I have her flats. They are pretty good made for wider feet – kidding. 🙂

  10. jo says:

in the first pic, those shoes, how does she wear them while THAT pregnant?

this seems like the longest pregnancy in history…i think she gained alot of weight very early in her pregnancy and that made us think she was further along than she actually was. It will be difficult to get the weight off, but I hear she’s already signed on with jenny craig or something, so it’s always easier to lose weight when you’re getting paid to do it ! But the pressure for her to lose it quickly will be hard, and now that she’s spent 9 months eating whatever she wanted, how is she going to kick the bad eating habits?

The kid’s middle name is going to be tequila?

  12. Ravensdaughter says:

Could you do a C/B edition without details of Jessica Simpson’s birthing plans, etc? You could call it “C/B sans Jessica”. I have been through childbirth twice-once without anesthesia because I waited too long-and I am also medical. Even so, this is TMI!

  13. sup says:

nothing about this stupid wench surprises me anymore.

we need some new celebrities, so tired of hearing stories about the same ones over and over again.

We short women get HUGE when pregnant bc the baby has no where to go but POINTED OUT. W my first, everyone kept asking me f I was sure I had “just one” baby. I wish I could have shown them all what I looked like w my twins (we measured, and at 32 weeks, I was 45 inches across my belly). You do eat ridiculous food – I believe the whole slutty brownies thing was when she was asked about cravings. People need to leave pregnant women alone.

Would we put it past Jess to deliver way before she admits it to get a head start on a post baby bod? More endorsement money? How does that work I wonder? One set of numbers for the contract payout / different set of numbers for the commercial publicity?
    Hmmm ??

    • Lizbet says:

With this one, definitely not. Jess is way too much afflicted with diarrhea of the mouth to actually have a baby and not say a word. She can’t even fart without telling the world.

On another note, I feel HORRIBLE for her. I had twins at exactly 35 weeks, and I felt so uncomfortable; I cannot imagine actually carrying a baby for 40+ weeks. Ugh.

Longest. Pregnancy. Ever. I just feel bad for her at this point.

  19. Me says:

I would love to see this girl give birth I think she would be hilarious.

  20. Aqua says:

I think everyone is going to breath a sigh of relief when the baby is born.

  21. Sweettart says:

I hate to break it to her if she thinks she is going to be able to get back into her favorite high heels. None of them are going to fit her anymore. I went up a whole shoe size after I had kids.

    • the original bellaluna says:

I went up a half-shoe-size with each kid, and it really sucked. (I’m a total “shoe horse” according to my mum; it’s hereditary and skips a generation – according to her.)

    • Lizbet says:

Not everyone has the same experience. I still fit all my old shoes after my pregnancy, though my mom didn’t (maybe lends credence to the “skips a generation” theory), but you definitely can’t say everyone’s feet grow during pregnancy.

I’m not a Jessica-lover, but it would suck to love shoes as much as she does and not fit any of them anymore, so I hope she gets lucky.

On the other hand, she can afford new ones if anyone can.

  22. the original bellaluna says:

Honey, you can WANT to wear whatever you want, but when you actually labour/give birth, you’ll be in one of those hideous hospital gowns. And if it’s a C-section, you’ll be naked and draped from the boobs down.

    FACT.

    • Snarky says:

I had a section and still had a gown on. It was just hiked up around my boobs…

Might as well have been naked though, lol.

  23. nancypants says:

    Bless her heart!
I rarely post here but I just have to weigh-in.

I, as many, have been following Jessica’s pregnancy for about 15 years.

Okay, it hasn’t been 15 years but it FEELS like it and I had three children many years apart with no drugs at all and I always tried to get my stuff together and look halfway presentable for the crowd/crowning but it didn’t always work out and at times I looked downright heinous.

Most babies come out when they are damn good and ready to come out and they don’t have clocks and even if they did they wouldn’t care.

When they are ready to come out, they come out.

Unless you have a scheduled delivery -that goes on time – things can get real, really fast and I don’t think this young lady really knows what she is in for.

I strongly suspect that she has an appointed date, time, most awesome, reserved room, decorator, a guest list, security, her attorneys, cameramen, make-up and hair artists, a photographer, her publicist, a preacher, a florist, CHEFS, an IT guy, a group of musicians, and a surgeon standing by to give her a simultaneous boob-lift/tummy tuck and
she has probably decided the actual moon phase and “sign” and sh*t that her little one will be born under but any woman who names her little girl, “Maxi”, isn’t altogether there and I’m afraid she’s going to be in for a few unpleasant surprises and she is freakin’ huge.

I know she’s short and the baby is supposedly HUGE and she’s holding back more fluid than Hoover dam and all but…damn.

    She’s going to need work.

I’m just hoping for the best for all of them.

  24. SashaVice says:

Her pregnancy has made me decide not to have kids. It just seems horrible. And reading all of these comments and what pregnancy does to your body…no thanks.

Also, why are women taking all of the men’s names? Stop it.

  25. Stubbylove says:

Alright, I’m at my “enough info” breaking point on this one. TMI. You’d think she’s birthing the second-coming. KRIPES.

  26. Snowflake says:

aww, have a heart… it’s her first baby…of course she’s going to be excited about every detail.
