Gwyneth Paltrow attended last night’s Met Gala, of course. She comes nearly every year, because it’s like the Mecca of Fashion Girls. Last night’s theme was “Schiaparelli and Prada ‘Impossible Conversations’”. So of course Dame Paltrow wore Prada, instead of her usual ass-kissy Stella McCartney. I actually thought this Prada WAS Stella at first, just because it seems like the cut is off somehow, which seems a hallmark of Stella McCartney’s designs: a bad fit. Anyway, this dress is like the fancier cousin of the mullet dress – it has the soul of a mullet dress, yet I would not really say that it’s a full-on mullet. The color – a pale, icy white-blue-silver (depending on the light) – seems pretty obvious for Goop. She loves her icy, artic colors.
Thoughts on the side-boob? I really do think she had a boob job. Thoughts on the short dress to a gala event? Eh. Gwyneth wasn’t the only girl going with a shorter dress. I think if you’re ever going to wear a full-length gown, it should be to the Met Gala (and the Oscars), but I guess Goop considers herself to be a “fashion risk taker” and “rule-breaker”. Plus, she fancies herself ahead of the curve, mullet-wise. Overall, though, I don’t really hate this look on Gwyneth. It’s not groundbreaking, and it’s not surprising. It’s also not bad. The fit could be better, but… I don’t have a hate-on for it.
Goop’s shoes are Prada too, by the way! I really like her shoes, they might be my favorite part. My least favorite part? Her hair. She needs to stop with the center part.

Totally agree. Wow, her face is really looking taut and umm, older, I mean older than her years; I am 48 and sure don’t look that old and pulled. It is kinda like SJP’s face as she gets older, all the features are so sharp, there is no softness. Part of the aging may be the sun damage. Her face is looking much too old for a pinafore-ish dress. Great legs tho.

Very much agree. The side boob sends it to another level of trying too hard. But even when she has her ta tas hanging out for the world to see, or shield her eyes from, Goopy still looks so boring. I agree with Kaiser that Goopy needs to change her hairstyle. Once upon a time she was so daring with her hair, but now it is the same old boring doo year in and year out.

Camilla Belle was hands-down the best dressed this year, she looked stunning. I was so disappointed in the other ladies, Elizabeth Banks looked ridiculous, Beyonce looked like a Showgirl threw up on her and Gisele Bündchen..MEH.

Another site had close ups of the back and side of the dress and there are many mismatched seams. I pity the dressmaker who had to work on this — there’s just no way to make the dress attractive if the front panel is just a sheath of fabric.

I kind of like this dress…but, without the trashy side boob.
I kind of hate her but I have to say, her figure is AMAZING. Which makes me kind of hate her a little bit more.
That’s the thing. She’s annoying as hell but I have always thought she is really pretty and her figure is probably one of the best in Hollywood.
I don’t think the dress looks great, but I like the hair. If she would just allow someone to define her brows and put on a slightly darker lipstick/gloss, she would look so much better. She has a pretty face, but the lack of brows throws the balance off.
That is all kinds of fugly. The dress is awful as is the display of the bony rib cage and sagging breasts. It’s too short and the side boob is tacky. I’ve seen her look elegant, sexy and age appropriate before, so I know she can do it. This just smacks of desperation.

The longer parts makes her legs look stumpy which they are for a 5’10” girl. Tracy Anderson created muscles that create the illusion of long legs. This dress ruined all that work.
