Stacy Keibler talks exercise, health with Self Mag: “Set realistic goals for yourself”

For a moment, I thought Stacy Keibler had managed to escort her way onto yet another magazine cover, but that’s not the case. Stacy isn’t on the cover of the new issue of Self Magazine, she’s just featured within the latest issue. She has a fashion photo shoot, plus a shoot to show us her workout and stuff. Do you mind if I avoid the photos of her squatting? Because I don’t want to look at it really – you can see some of the pics here. Stacy has a great figure, for sure. But does she have anything beyond that? Unknown. Here are some excerpts from her interview:

Stacy on being healthy: “Being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle have always been very important to me. I pride myself in taking care of my mind, body and soul, and not just through exercise.”

Workouts as therapy: “It’s also about getting enough sleep, eating nutritious and organic meals and taking good care of my skin. Working out makes me feel strong and energized every time. It’s my therapy for my mind and my body.”

On her passion for working out: “I love the adrenaline rush exercising gives me—and the payoff isn’t bad, either!”

On confidence: “Confidence comes from within and as long as you are putting forth a respectable effort to take good care of yourself, you should feel confident about that path. Just be sure to set realistic goals for yourself and design a plan that works for you. Also, remember that everyone gets there at their own pace and there’s no losing when you take charge.”

It struck me as I read this piece, and glanced through Stacy’s Twitter feed, that Stacy is trying to make exercise and diet one of her “issues”. As in, this is what she wants to be known for and she wants to make “being healthy” her cause and her go-to soundbyte. She’s been tweeting about various childhood obesity causes too. So… is Stacy trying to be like Michelle Obama? Is that how Stacy is positioning herself? Like, George Clooney is like Pres. Obama, all serious issues and foreign policy and such, and Stacy gets to come in with the “soft” issues like “getting healthy” and “getting people to exercise.” I really don’t think this is a coincidence.

    Huh… She looks really good!

And health mags and an exercise show are right up her ally! She is an amazing athlete. I’d buy her more in the health fitness arena, rather than say, Glamour or Vogue… But then again, cold-frigid Wintour would NEVER allow it.

    • Rhiley says:

I agree. Her body is perfect and she is a true athlete. I prefer her over someone like Jilian Michaels.

      • Maguita says:

Why is that? I don’t like Jillian either, and I can’t really pinpoint the cause..? Besides the aggressive behavior.

Oh wait, now i get it: She reminds of Rosie O’Donnell. Whatever she may be stating, even if it is reasonable, the tone is never. Too aggressive..?

      • Snowflake says:

I love jillian micheal’s dvds. they have whipped my butt into shape.

    • jane16 says:

She looks fabulous here & I think she’s turning into a great model. George would never run for public office & I highly doubt that Stacy, who is smart enough to know her limitations, is setting herself up to be like Michelle Obama.

  2. the_porscha says:

She was saying this stuff as a wrestler too. Maybe she’s saying it more now or maybe it’s just that she’s dating George Clooney and far more famous, but she’s always been an advocate of health.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Exactly. When you depend on your fitness/health level for your career – pro athlete like her – it’s impossible not to be saying these things in interviews. Even if she is just simply GC’s gf now, it’s her job to be fit and workout..so yeah, she does that well.

      • Guest says:

I don’t consider her a pro-athlete just because she was a cheerleader and wrestled for the WWE. Keeping fit, is her job and skill and she got the magazine spread because of George ,that is why people are interested in her.

  3. Toni says:

She’s smarter than Clooney’s last girls who wanted to get into acting and modelling. This girl is setting herself up to be some exercise guru. Think workout dvd or a tv show like the Biggest Loser.

  4. Jackie says:

what else does she have to go on? a good figure is all she has, so trying to become credible by becoming a diet and exercise spokesperson is her only option, i’m guessing.

clooney needs her to become respectable for his own image.

    • Liv says:

Plus her body type is already thin and slim, it’s probably not very hard for her to keep herself in shape.

      • Nina says:

She actually lost weight after dating Clooney– uh oh maybe he had something to do w/ it?!

Seriously tho, she was kind of a big girl- not chubby, but just big- early on and lost weight probably due to being in the public eye. She looks amazing in these pics.

  5. Marjalane says:

If she was smart she’d be branding herself as the face of fitness instead of Clooney’s girlfriend- and maybe she is. It’s kind of a stretch to compare her voice to that of the first lady though…outside of the gossip world, does anyone know who she is?!

    • autumndaze says:

I agree with you. I believe that she is taking advantage of the exposure that she is getting to launch herself as health and fitness advocate. She has a certain likability and credibility in this arena.
      Smart girl.

    • Cherry says:

I suppose the comparison with the first lady was sort of a joke. As for Stacy as the face of fitness- sure. To me, personally, she’s not inspiring though. I mean, I could work out all day every day and I still wouldn’t have legs as long as hers, and a pretty face like hers. She was born with those. I look up to women who aren’t born pretty and make the most of what they have- like we all should. Still, she doesn’t bug me or anything. She’s just a girl who happens to date a famous guy, and is making the most of the publicity that comes with it. Good for her.
Sidenote: quotes like ‘I pride myself in taking care of my mind, body and soul, and not just through exercise’ make me cringe. Sweet lord, sister. You’re a fitness model, not mother Theresa.

“Confidence comes from within and as long as you are putting forth a respectable effort to take good care of yourself…”
“…Also, remember that everyone gets there at their own pace and there’s no losing when you take charge.”

Is this a joke? I don’t find someone who loses at least 10 pounds, since dating an “A-list start”, confident. Sorry. I don’t understand about taking charge. She has (allegedly) a contract with her boyfriend and she is on his leash. Is this taking charge? she meant taking charge in terms of fitness?is she talking about confidence in terms of looks? but not life in general? I cannot understand vague thoughts…

Can somebody tell me if there is anything below blandness? Gawd, she is boring and unteresting.

  7. G says:

She looks great. Frankly, I didn’t think she would be around this long or that I’d start to like her….

  8. marie says:

I am jealous of that woman’s legs.. I got two stumps with feet..

    • Amy says:

This. Plus my pasty stumps are peppered with Keratosis Pilaris. #ugliestlittlelegsever

  9. LucyOriginal says:

She has nice legs. But is it all she has?

There is a Brazilian model, Ana Hickmann, known for her legs (46.5”). She is tall (1,85 cm), a great example of a tall and feminine woman, and she had something more interesting than her legs (and her legs are unbelievable!). Just saying…

  10. HappyJoyJoy says:

She’s the first GOTG (Girlfriend Of The George) that has not made me cringe… ever. I actually kind of like her, and I do believe her stance on fitness and obesity issues. Meh. Call me crazy. She looks pretty in those pictures too. I want the wedges on the first one!

    • Gwen says:

      +1.

She looks fantastic (well, her body at least).

    • cody says:

Are you kidding, she maybe pretty but still makes me cringe. Have you ever heard Stacy speak, she has this annoying voice and says nothing of importance.

  11. lunabell says:

I like her. I don’t think snarking about her career choices or options is warranted (yet) because it’s not like she’s over-reaching. She was a professional cheerleader and wrestler and even shilled for Zumba a few years back. Appearing in a couple fitness magazines and giving health and exercise interviews is well within her range. If George can use their “relationship” to fend off gay rumors and have a convenient date to events, why can’t she leverage the same relationship to make sure she has some prospects for herself when it eventually falls apart?

  12. Aqua says:

Well, she’s a bit of a far cry from First Lady Michelle Obama. But at least she is promoting something that she know about first hand.Too bad her advice doesn’t include how to grow taller.

  13. AdvocatingForTheNest says:

these pics belong on her self-promotional twitter page not in a mag. ditto for her derivative advice. with all they can do with photo shopping they can’t do anything with the vast landscape that is her forehead? man, that is one thing you can’t fix with surgery either, which is why i am…

  14. mia girl says:

I wish I could look like that in a pair of shorts. But alas, my genetic code does not include long legs.

  15. mandy says:

is it a joke ?? ahahaha ..she looks like a broom. no thank you she can keep these healthy tips.this girl has a face cover is not possible. since she was with george everything has changed (even the kind of photohttp://www.bannedinhollywood.com/banneds-massive-stacy-keibler-bikini-and-lingerie-gallery). thank you photoshop … go to party regularly and drink alcohol as it is good for health? she is like all gc’s girlfriend “made in george “. she looks 40 and he looks 60 ….

    • Lorenzo says:

Mmh, I wouldn’t call this colossus a girl, at last as she really looks much older than her age.
Also I think the whole world is making fun of her when she proudly presents her bald to the cameras.
Woman, go and fire your hairdresser! Maybe she has to wear a whig.

  16. Lizbet says:

I’m beyond surprised that I don’t abhor the weird bra/culotte (skirt? who knows what that is) outfit on her. I guess having an amazing body really can make almost anything look good.

    • AdvocatingForTheNest says:

i like that outfit but on someone of normal size… too much fabric for someone of her proportions imo

  17. Original says:

She looks pretty here, although her poses look awkward. She is 32 years old, which in model years is too old to start a modeling career. If she was going to start the whole modeling fitness magazine thing she would have made it years ago and given up wrestling and being a cheerleader. She got this gig because she is Clooney’s girlfriend, just like the other girls he dated when they tried a modeling career. Otherwise nobody would be interested in her, Really, there is nothing unique about her looks. I think she is trying to move her career into health and fitness, because acting is not in her calling. I saw her in a Hallmark movie and she was terrible.

  18. guest 1 says:

She has a nice body, but she will never be a Michelle Obama. She comes off in interviews as a girl, I mean girl not woman, with no substance. I guess Clooney likes them that way, great body, but no depth.

  19. maria says:

to make everyone feel better, as a 47 year old personal trainer, we must remember…she is so young…. she hasn’t lived long enough or experienced any pregnancies. She hasn’t had to gain or lose as in a pregnancy. But, aside from that, she looks incredible…fit, lean, flawless..she is obviously diligent with her eating and workouts so we must admire that…but, truly, she is pretty damn young….

  20. BoBo says:

It seems a lot of these C/D list models/celebs/actresses are becoming health, beauty and fitness experts with their own blogs, twitter accounts and websites. The problem with this approach, is just because you have the time to exercise a few hours a day, have the money for facials, botox and make-up or even have a home chef delivery service to make your meals, doesn’t make you an expert on health and fitness, maybe just George Clooney

    • lost in the barrens says:

She does have an athletic background so I say yes this makes her perfect for a career in health/fitness.

  21. The Original Mia says:

She looks good. Her legs are insanely long. Curses my little stumps!

I love the wedges in the first pic. Gimme!

    • Lisa says:

I’m so in love with wedges. I got the best pair for summer, and it’s ridiculous how happy this has made me.

  22. Kara ann says:

I think that she looks fantastic! Nothing she says sounds outside of the realm of her “expertise” i.e. health and fitness.
I know it’s kind of a thing to dislike Clooney’s gf’s but this one has done nothing, imo, to engender ridicule. She talks about what she knows and seems to take a position as a decent, down to earth person…just one who is dating George.

  23. Heidi says:

She was born beautiful and is one of those blessed ones who would still be gorgeous not following a healthy regimen. Eating organic and healthy living in general makes her shine ever more brightly

  24. Lisa says:

Good, standard advice. I don’t believe that confidence always comes from within – sometimes it works from the outside in!

  25. Guest 2 says:

If I needed some guidance on how to be a fit and healthy woman, who would I seek advice from Stacy or Michelle? I rather hear about this subject from a beautiful, intelligent woman like Michelle Obama than shallow ex wrestler, who got a magazine spread, because she dates someone famous.

    • cowbulls says:

You have to be kidding. Michelle is the worst dressed first lady in history. She isn’t attractive and her intelligence is certainly in question. I wish she and Obama would make themselves and us happy and move to an already Socialist country.

      • Jackie says:

i find this to be a very childish response. reactionary, polarizing, and extreme.

…and i am not even american.

      • Deb says:

I don’t know who the “us” is that you refer to in your post, but it sure isn’t me and I bet, a lot of my fellow Americans. I am tired of people who bring politics into everything and to top it off, do so in a nasty way.

  26. Playlist says:

Stacy is trying to find her niche that she can hang onto Post-George but I don’t think Fitness Spokesperson is going to be it. First of all, she lacks maturity for her age. She comes across as a perpetual bubbly teenager. That can grate on people’s nerves. She may be a nice person, but she doesn’t come across as very intelligent and it shows in her interviews, especially when she is trying to sell her fitness DVD game.

Second, although she has a great body, she’s still young enough that there is no serious work required for her to stay in shape when she was never out of shape to begin with. She went from cheerleading, to wrestling, to DWTS, to George Clooney. Fitness has never been a struggle for her because she always had it as part of her paid jobs. Her downfall is that people cannot relate to her fitness challenges because she’s never had any. She has always had the easy route. Being a beard for George just underscores that message. As long as she is with George she may as well be saying “getting paid as a Beard allows me hours a day to stay in shape”. She will have a hard time being taken seriously after the bearding job ends.

  27. Penguin says:

Looks ok for the real world but for body building world, no f*****g way

  28. LittleDeadGirl says:

Or she is incredibly boring and has nothing else to talk about. Michelle Obama does soft issues cause that’s what the first lady does and always has done. Stacy I think does “soft issues” cause she’s got nothing else to talk about but throw away advice about being healthy.

I swear if I hear one more celebrity tell me to just “eat healthy and exercise” I’m going to shoot them. No shit sherlock. Next you’re gonna tell me fruit is good for you and eating bacon with every meal might not be that smart. Golly gosh you sure are smart.

  29. Kelly says:

She’s ok but her advice is basically common sense, not exactly earth shattering. Do people really care what she has to say?

  30. Margaret says:

is she trying to pull of the Grace Kelly look?

  31. Sabrine says:

People seem to have to really dig to find something nasty to say about her. She’s just trying to inspire people to live better. Yes it’s been said before but people have short memories when it comes to fitness. She doesn’t play up her temporary relationship with Clooney. And I’ve never seen her without a happy and sunny smile on her face. So she’s not Einstein…who cares.

Could be a bit of jealousy over those killer legs of hers!

    • Lorenzo says:

Somebody might need some glasses. I’ve seen her with an arrogant face and pouting as well and even if when you see her fake smile most of the time, nobody buys it anyway, it’s just for show.
She and her big fat ego might be the biggest fans of her legs, but I feel very sorry for people to envy her gigantic thighs. She will never have pretty skinny legs like a model or an actress.
To me she cames across like a narcissistic delusional woman, who is selling her camel toe with a happy fake smile.
Hopefully she is really happy with what she’s doing, because it is ridiculous to be famous for making a fool of yourself.
There are pics of her lolly licking and showing her naked butt where she looks like an idiot, but she was in for the money and today she is still spreading her legs in skimpy pants and nothing is left to be unseen. Fitness, haha.

  32. LucyOriginal says:

Why people have always to allude to jealousy when comes to criticism of vapid people? The jealousy card is getting a bit boring. Are you assuming we are all shallow and childish to be jealous of someone’s physical attributes? Have you all notice everybody only talks about her leg as if her leg is her talent. *Major eye roll*

Do we all need to remind ourselves where she has been doing before her “relationship” with Clooney?

    ….

    Nothing.

For someone who has a party reputation who hosts drinks’ competition,s he definitely doesn’t know what she wants to do because these cocktail contests and unnecessary cleansing don’t go together with her fitness and healthy approach.

She is no expert in the field. She could have a blog and interview people who are experts in the field. She could have a weekly write-up if you want, that’s fine. But play expert just regurgitating her trainers’ ideas, nutritionists without acknowledging them is far from being an expert. Anyone who likes to write and exercise can do what’s she is doing.

    • Guest says:

      +1
I think you also have to put some blame on these fitness magazines that put these celebs on the front cover and make them an expert on health and fitness. They chose her because of GC. They want to sell magazines and hope the curious and his female fan base will buy the issue, really if she wasn’t with him at all those premieres she wouldn’t have been even noticed. To me she looks like so many of these celebrity personalities, with no real talent trying to make it in Hollywood.

      • Amazed says:

        +1

She is featured in the magazine due to her association with George. She followed a fitness regime when she wrestled and was on DWTS. Now, due to George, they will sell a few more magazines.

She does look good but how much photoshopping took place is anyones guess. If we did not work full time and could spend the time working out, we too, would look good. If she wants to be a fitness expert she will have to come up with more than just general comments on the subject. Working on her voice would also be a plus.

  33. HoustonGrl says:

Ok…I don’t mind these articles, but they don’t paint the whole picture, and that is unfair to people think they will get her body with a few squats! Not true! She probably does an hour of cardio a day, plus weights. Just FYI.

  34. Jen says:

i do not ever visit this website but trolled through today and ended up reading some comments…i have never seen so much hating on one woman. JEEZ!

    • Fleur says:

This is nothing. Look up Jennifer Anniston.

      • Aqua says:

And that is why I never go on a Jennifer Anniston or a Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie post. They are just insane!

    • jane16 says:

I know, its bizarre. George’s fans are supposed to be middle-aged, so you’d think they’d have some perspective about him, but a few of them have so much hate for his gfs, you can’t help but think of the “J” word. Sorry, lucy!

      • Amazed says:

I do not hate George’s girlfriends I just get tired of having them promoted as perfect/wonderful/sweet/beautiful, etc. just because they are dating him. They are the same woman they were before they dated him but now all of a sudden they are the greatest woman alive.

He can date who he likes that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to like them.

      • jane16 says:

How is George supposed to promote them, I wonder? As totally average in every way? My own husband is always saying to me, our friends, family & coworkers how beautiful & wonderful I am and we’ve been marrired over 20 years, & I am well aware that my looks are not what they used to be. It would seem odd, indeed, if a man or woman talked about their current partner as “nothing special”.

      • LucyOriginal says:

@jane16: You don’t have to apologize to me because your comment is not aimed towards me. I never ever (as far as I remember and as long I was the one typing using lucyoriginal)made derogatory comments about their looks. Well, maybe with the exception about the vein in Sk’s forehead that I pointed it out. What baffles me, it’s the amount of coverage they get just for dating him. While so many talented people will never have a chance. You would think George would have more respect for his peers…Who he dates says more about him than about these girls who are pretty and without substance. That’s all i’ve been saying all along. What it baffles me most, it’s they are my age and I still call them girls…

      • LucyOriginal says:

to be fair, i have commented on her hair, which it is horrible. No matter how much money and makeover she has, she rarely gets it right. So, when i mentioned her hair, I was stating the obvious that many people did when watching red carpets.

      • Guesto says:

        @Jane16 @5:19

Bit rich, that. I’m sure I recall you making very unpleasant comments about Canalis when Clooney was dating her.

  35. Amazed says:

@jane16, I obviously didn’t state myself clearly in the above post. I should have clarified ‘they’as the media promotes her by her association with George, not ‘he’ as in George. I would certainly hope George thinks she is wonderful and beautiful.

  36. Exoticarr says:

I beg to differ. Just because she’s not an A lister, it doesn’t make her a parasite gf like his exes, specifically Elisabetta Canalis. Relationship with George sure does help her, but she’s got that great image of hers, that can be taken to a higher level. She was a wrestler but boy, can’t you see how amazing that body is?
I on the other hand think she’s too good for George, he never does it for me, he’s not a sporty type and i can judge that easily. Stacey herself, is a body conscious person, eats healthily and looks amazing. Her nose job has got nothing to do with her fitness, give the girl a break,

  37. shawn says:

Why on earth would anyone take this idiot seriously about anything except “how to be a professional famewhore.” She has ZERO qualifications as a fitness expert. All she knows how to do is “cleanse,” which in her crazy head means eating cheeseburgers followed by laxatives. She does not have a degree or any actual education in nutrition or physical fitness. She’s a big fake whose only skills are whoring and famewhoring.
