These are some photos from last night’s Teen Choice Awards, which I didn’t watch, of course. You know what I watched last night? A really awful Masterpiece Mystery: Inspector Lewis. Inspector Lewis is one of my least favorite of all of the Masterpiece Mysteries, which should tell you a lot about how much I did not want to watch the Teen Choice Awards. But I do enjoy the fashion from these events, especially because it seems that so many of these young stars struggle with what to wear – they can’t look like they’re trying too hard, they can’t over-dress, but they can’t just wear jeans either. It’s always interesting.
So let’s start off with Taylor Swift in Maria Lucia Hohan, one of her go-to designers for these events. I don’t really hate the dress, it’s flattering and the nude panels on the side and back are well-executed. You know what this dress reminds me of? Baby’s dress during the final dance in Dirty Dancing. I’ve had the time of my life…and I owe it all to you….! Swifty was totally making that reference too, I think. Also: I really do think that Swifty got bolt-ons. I really, really do.
Next up: Lea Michele in Versace. I think I might have to praise Lea, quite honestly. The dress is… it’s fine, it’s a standard little cocktail dress, I don’t love it or hate it. But I have to give Lea some credit for several things. One, she seems so much more relaxed on this carpet. Sure, she was pose-harding and making sure everybody got her dress from every angle. But looking through the photos, she just seems so much more relaxed, so much looser. I also have to give her some credit for gaining some weight back – when she went vegan a few years ago, she lost so much weight very quickly. Some of it has started to come back, and Lea looks so much healthier and happier. Overall, she just looks great.

I agree with you on the bolt-ons for Taylor!! It’s looking quite evident in this dress, with the slight – but visible – fake-looking rise above the neckline. That does not look like natural cleavage. I also agree with you on Lea – normally she annoys the sh*t out of me with her lips-parted pose-hards… Now it’s only a little annoying
I saw the same thing. That first photo really shows the bolt-ons. I wish she had the confidence to be herself rather than add these things.

Ugh. Girl is such an hypocrit. Unless it was the unicorns living in her hair who staged a revolt and forced her to get implants. In that case she gets a moral pass.

Lea Michele looks great ’cause she seems happy.
I love the simple, Grecian lines of Swifty’s dress, but think the shoe was too heavy for the flowing lines of the dress. Lea Michele’s dress was OK, but I just think those silver pumps look a bit trashy. Although, usually adore Michele. Obviously, I’m just not feeling heavy pumps today. Strappy sandals would be much better on Swifty.
Is it just me? Anyone, anyone…Bueller…anyone?
In general, I hate the platform heels that everyone wears now; they look so heavy and clunky with everything. I’d much rather see a more thin-soled high heel sandal. So– I agree!
Lea’s face looks awful.
Lea’s hair looks great and her body is on point, but I like Taylor Swift’s dress better… even if I can’t stand her.
I thought Lea looked really good.

I watched the first half of the show until my daughter got bored – not even the promise of her beloved One Direction was enough to keep her interest! Horrible. Awful. Writing. Demi Lovato should never host anything again. Taylor looked really pretty and like she was having a great time.

I like Lea’s too, they both look good. But why is the bust line of Lea’s dresses always crooked? Is it the way she stands?

They both look great! I love Taylor’s dress more but I really love Lea’s hair and makeup – it’s a tie 😀
Let’s not compare these two women. They both look stunning! Notice we never compare men? Which guy has the biggest butt? Which guy’s hair look busted? I hate that the next morning after any awards show, we rip all of the women apart with a micro-scope. I know, I know, the name of the site is called Celebitchy.

I feel like Taylor has worn that dress before. I wish she would step up her game. I don’t really like the material on Lea’s dress though. So I’ll go with taylor on this one.
Taylor always looks the same. She’s lovely, but seriously, mix it up. And Leah looks like she’s in the wrong decade. I’m expecting JT to walk by in cornrows and a denim tuxedo.
Ugh, Kaiser, I watched Inspector Lewis last night too – I generally like them, but JESUS…what was that?! Inspector Morse would be appalled (and clearly would have slept with the photographer chick before we were 40 minutes in). If y’all are Masterpiece Mystery fans and don’t know who Inspector Morse is, get the DVDs – you won’t be disappointed.
p.s. The back of Swifty’s dress is horrendous. Lainey has a close up of it. Ohmygod, those clasps. It looks like the back of my Bali Double Support brassiere. Ohmygod.
Taylor looks beautiful. Lea usually looks like she stole her gown from the Dynasty set, or an ice skating competition. But I think this style actually works for her, for once!

I was on the Swifty = no bolt-on team before but I might be switching teams here. They do look a little fake. Regardless, she didn’t go too big or even big (at all!) for that matter so you know what, I understand why she did it. While I am on the big busted side and am generally anti-plastic surgery, I have no idea what if feels like to be flat chested. My sister is and would do anything to have SOMETHING other than nipples.
Lea looks very pretty. I think that her dating Cory Monteith might be good for her 🙂
Both look great but Lea looks better. True happiness helps. Props to her too as she seems to have twice as many haters. BTW: Love Inspector Lewissssssss (as my fave Morse used to pronounce it).
I actually really like Lea’s dress. Don’t have an opinion of her except that her voice has annoyed me in the past. But she looks good.
Ah, so Taylor probably *did* get new boobies? I admit, I usually give some people the benefit of the doubt at first, even if I think they’re capable of getting a boob job and pretending they didn’t. It’s always suspicious when women with flatter chests suddenly have something to show off in that area, but I really was thinking she might have just upgraded her bras.

I love Taylor’s dress and she definitely got boobs. I saw her recently at a Shareholder’s meeting and it was obvious, at least they aren’t too big. Lea looks great minus the fug dress.
I dont think Swifty got bolt-ons, I just think that she gained weight. She looks like she gained around ten pounds over the last few months and when I gain weight, it goes to my tits first so it could be the same for Taylor…shes not as boney as she was when she was younger.

She’s a young woman. I can go from C to A with weight gain, hormones, bras, different dress cuts etc.
From one unflattering camera angle in a push up bra my boobs looked square.
I spent half hour in the mirror twisting and bending around to see if they looked like that in real life (they don’t FYI).
